First time and everything was excellent. Atmosphere, food and service was amazing. Not a typical buffet. 5 star service and beyond from Pat, Joshua and Marianna. Definitely highly recommend
Mandarin is absolutely hands down one of the best you can eat restaurants you will experience. The staff are quick and friendly with orders of drinks and taking empty plates. There is a big selection of food and varieties of everything here! You will get your money's worth here! Can't wait to go back!
We were greeted warmly by everyone we ran into. Pauly, our server, was amazing. We got drinks and everything in a very timely fashion. She was super friendly and really fun to chat with. I highly recommend this place. Food was fresh and hot and the drinks were really refreshing
The manager has been racist to my friends and made the whole experience horrible for us please fire him and the food had hair. My wife and kids did not like it!
Wonderful place and our waitresses Pat was such a wonderful lady, she sang me happy birthday and gave me a picture of my hubby and I. Will definitely come again
Hoping they open some part again soon. Delivery or anything. This place is a joy to eat at. Good food and service and the best restaurant atmosphere experience of anywhere. Waiting and hoping, and wishing the owners (who always come to say hi at the tables) all the best during this time.

Fantastic manager, great staff, lovely family dinner! I would recommend it for any personal, v=family or social event. Great manager will look after you! Staff is friendly and hard-working. Place is clean and very family-oriented.
This place gives extraordinary service and yummy food. My favourite spot around here. The drinks and food came out fast and the prices are fair. Recommended.
Not enough verity for a low carb eater. Ran out of soups and never refilled, no plain oil and vinegar salad dressing. However the roast beef was superb.
Ate at the Kitchener location many times and always found it to be Good. Not great, just good. Came to guelph first time in january 2020. Noticeably better location! Better food and better seating arrangements. Amazing staff and attention to detail. Can honestly say this is the best restaurant experience weve ever had and its well worth the drive!
Friendly and helpful staff, kid friendly atmosphere, plenty of food options, and colourful festive interior including large fish tank. This is my 5 year old's favourite restaurant - especially the wide selection of desserts and cotton candy machine by the door.
Always enjoy my time here, as stated, it is a buffet so unlimited food is always a good option for those super hungry people out there. Servers are always super friendly and check on you quite frequently to make sure everything is just how you like it
We simply love this restaurant. Michael -our favourite manager, and our regular servers (yes, we are regulars) Jason and Sim are a delight -respectful, efficient, and know how to make you feel right at home. We cannot say enough good things about these truly amazing persons. The food is really delicious most of the time, but if there is something on the menu not meeting our expectations -that's not a big deal, there is plenty of other great stuff to enjoy.
Buffet is the natural thing to order. Lots of choice, clean facilities, courteous staff. A native Chinese colleague called it "Good North American" Chinese food.
Fairly new one in Guelph. About three years old. Great service in addition to the buffet. Have not been to one for several years. Food is the same. Desserts are smaller portions. Wontons are not the same as before. Ingredients have changed.
The buffet was amazing, despite going on a Saturday night, we only ended up waiting about 15 minutes. Excellent service and food. I definitely ate too much though lol
Enjoyed an evening with friends and family. No pressure to vacate, regular checks on our drink status and the plates were removed within moments. Food was acceptable.
We tried the take out. Food was very good. Shorted two sspring rolls. Veg with almonds only received six almonds. Fish came with only one small package of tartar. But would order again.
It is clean and fresh. But most food there is deep fried or stir fried which is so oily and heavy for my taste. I loved the salmon teriyaki though. The dessert collection is nice and variable and fresh not stale at all. I gave it 3 stars because it is just not my type of food. I went with friends and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Do not reccomend. Saw a cockroach, and you know what they say, see one cockroach, there is a whole army behind. Food is greasy, high carb and overpriced. The bugs put the lid on the coffin for me.
Seen a man eating at the buffet with his bare hands and licking his fingers in the self-service area. He was picking food out of the cold salad bar section and when I told management he made a joke he must be very hungry. This is disgusting! Also they have multiple fish tanks and one has a aggressive fish trying to eat the little yellows and thw big yellows had to clump together for protection. This has to be the worse Mandarin I have ever been too. Just drive to sports world, better staff and much more food varity. The sushi at the Guelph Mandarin is hard and disgusting.
Food was good. Service was excellent Facilities excellent as well. Only reason cannot give 5 stars is I think it's a little pricey. $40 is a lot for 1 person to spend on a meal. I think Mandarin as a restaurant better think long and hard before jacking up prices anymore as I believe that they could easily price themselves out of the range of a lot of people
Arrived 45 min before closing. Over half of the food display was already taken down. They could not wait for us to leave looking us out the door with time still on the clock. Very expensive especially for what we had that night. Won't be back
The food is always good. Anyone whose been to a Mandarin restaurant will know it's not cheap, especially during "weekend" hours. But I like this location because it's not as busy others I've been to like the 2 in Brampton.
We had a great meal! Server, hostess and manager were all very friendly. Food was typical Chinese buffet food but that's exactly what we wanted, and it was all hot and fresh. We had a great time! We don't do a buffet too often, so we were glad it was good. Left full and happy:)
I’d say this is the worst Mandarin I’ve been too, waiting service is great but that’s where it ended. We went for lunch on Sunday at 1pm with a reservation.
We waited for about 10 minutes to get a seat, they were very slow to bring food out, a lot of the trays were empty. I asked three times when the beef was coming out. Each time it was 5 minutes. I waited 45 minutes and never got any.
The grilled chicken was gone each time I was up, I had to ask about it. The lady finally put some on to cook while I was standing there.
We went up for desert and wanted some grilled pineapple. Guess what, the lady when to check the fridge and said there was none left.
Losing the Crab legs has lost the Mandarin business for sure, but now this experience won’t bring me back for awhile.
Staff and management were really good. Place is clean and tidy. Food wasn’t the greatest, but in their defence there were only 3 tables occupied. They gave us a discount to compensate for the quality and said they could make it fresh next time we ask.
We go every Christmas day for dinner now. Maybe one other time a year. It's never been anything special before but Christmas day 2018, changed my mind 100%. When I booked our reservation, I asked for the quietest corner possible because I have a special needs child. I was told on the phone, it wouldn't be an issue. It was overly packed when we got there, but when I finally got up to the counter to check in, the man told me they couldn't accommodate us. My poor daughter was already in hysterics & melting down from sensory overload. It was 100x busier than the previous Christmas. I explained that I was promised they'd be able to accommodate her & he refused. Thankfully a manager stepped up (I assume he was a manager, possibly the owner). I explained the situation to him. He explained to me, that they're not suppose to make promises like that for big holidays like Christmas. But given that I was promised, he saw the state my daughter was in, he had the perfect table for us, that gave her a spot where NO ONE would be able to walk around her but we wouldn't be buried in the room either. She had an easy escape from the room if she needed it. We had a wonderful dinner. Our waiter was AMAZING & took his time to let my daughter ask for the things she needed. He didn't rush her, he got down on her level to talk to her & made her feel special and part of the group. BEST restaurant experience at Mandarin EVER!
