My favourite place in Toronto. I have lost count of how many times I have been there. The taste, the price, the service all unmatchable. It is usually crowded so expect to wait about 15mins. But totally worth it!
My favourite: Shigure don, Takoyaki, takowasa.

The food is amazingly good and fresh. The service is very good and you can't really ask for anything more for a quick meal.

Don't expect a fancy experience here. But the food will be tasty and probably some of the best value you can get in the city.

Simple, no frills Japanese eatery located in a food court near AGO/OCAD. Been here multiple times for a quick bite and, for the price, it can’t be beat. My go-to’s are the Hotate Rice and Niki Udon:)

I just have to say, the food is very very very good for its price. However, I would say that the quality of the food varies day to day. For example, the first time I was there, the food was amazing. The second time was alrighty, but the third time was great again. It's kind of a gamble. But for that price, it doesn't even matter if its a gamble because you get a stomach full of food for so cheap!

A great little spot to grab a quick bite!

Manpuku is a simple, easy spot to grab a snack or smaller meal, with quick service and staple japanese eats. We got the clam takoyaki, udon, and hayakshi rice. The udon and takoyaki were good, however the rice was just okay. I am really happy with the value here, with our bill coming to only 24$.

Overall, a big recommend for its category of cheap eats!

This place has a very comfortable and home-y atmosphere inside.the food is really cheap and great for what you pay.service was both friendly and really quick too.i came on a saturday with my friends and it was pretty busy but found a seat quicky.

Food is terrible. I don’t get why it gets such good review lol but seriously it’s not acceptable, not to mention the super suffocating upper dining area? They have no AC/ any kind of ventilation there. Service is nice enough though.

This places is insanely cheap. I think you can get the cheapest Japanese food here in Toronto. When we went there, the places was packed with people. The food was served fresh and good. If you want a quick bite, this is the place for you.

This place is a true hidden gem. Tucked away from the street front, this eatery serves cheap but delicious selection of Japanese dishes. They easily won me over and will now be one of my favourite lunch spots! Also open on weekends.

The dashi broth is flavourful and the noodle texture is great.

The kake udon tasted great and was a very light meal for around $4-5. The takoyaki was also good but didn't have the okonomiyaki sauce (not sure if it was on purpose).

The service was great and really friendly. This restaurant is very cheap to go to and I will definitely be going back.

No parking at the plaza so you have to park on the street next to. The food is super value for a Toronto restaurant. They have quite a variety of food, each with a different taste. You would be able to find your favorite dish here as well, but not all will fit your taste bud. Overall, this is a must try place.

Great experience here! Small restaurant with lots is seating. Family friendly, quick service and delicious food. Staff were moving constantly and working hard. Food was not expensive and it came fast and piping hot:) will definitely be coming back here

The waiting time is ridiculous. They say you probably have to wait 15-20 minutes while actually the wait is closer to 40-45. I won’t recommend this to anyone unless you have some spare time to waste.

Small restaurant with very cheap and delicious japanese meals - fresh takoyaki, udon, rice bowls, etc

Ordered the chicken skewer with rice, which tasted okay. I think the price of the meal is definitely affordable for students who study nearby. The restaurant was also bigger than I expected but it could be quite crowded during lunch hours.

Maybe it’s because we went here before closing but I gotta recommend this place. It’s such a good price for great udon. The staff are so friend and the restaurant is so cozy. It may seem like a whole in the wall type joint but let me assure you its dateworthy. Japanese food made by Japanese cooks

For the price it's a great place but its not super good. To be the food is a bit bland.

Found this place via Instagram, really interesting place, it’s kind of like Japanese style bistro/family restaurant, they provide traditional japanese homemade style dishes, nothing super fancy, but i think this is a good place to go if someone wants to have a taste of Japanese cuisine. I ordered their Hormone Yakisoba, Nikujyaga, Jumbo Inari and Takowasa, for a total of 25 (with tax and tips) I think it’s a really nice deal, the food itself just like I said, homemade style, not super fancy but I like it and will definitely pay this place more visits to try different dishes

What you get here is simple and competent Japanese food at unbelievable prices. Don (rice) and Udon (noodles) dishes for $6 or $7. Apps for $3-4 dollars. Incredible! At those prices though, one cannot expect any of the niceties of dining out. Be ready to line up for 30+ minutes for a table and then another 20 minutes to pay because the restaurant only has one cash register and dine-in customers go into the same line to pay after the meal as take out customers. In short, if you can rough it a little, this is truly amazing budget dining.

Cheap, fast, and delicious! Very attentive staff, got a curry beef rice bowl for $8 perfect for a light savoury meal, most things on their menu are under ten dollars. From getting seated to finishing my meal was 20 minutes.

I didn’t know you could get 3 takoyaki & either a salad or soup to add as a combo on to udon or donburi for only $2.50! Don’t make the same mistake as me and pay $4.99 for a regular order of takoyaki. I couldn’t even finish all my food so the combo would have been perfect!
