Mantra by Host

All I can say is wow. This modern twist of Indian traditional dishes is absolutely exceptional. I had more than 10 dishes off this menu and absolutely every one of them blew me away. I would highly recommend this place to anyone for any occasion. Even those who don’t typically like Indian dishes I truly believe they would leave with a new view.

The platter took 45 mins to arrive food quality was decent nothing too great about this place.

The food is very tasty and plentiful. Unfortunately the service really struggled. Despite ordering appetizers in advance and a fixed menu the staff seemed confused. Everything was incredibly slow and the meal was 2 hours. This does not work for a business group needing a 60-minute meal. Finally, the incense burning was overwhelming and negatively impacted the experience. If you are sensitive to odours or perfumes you will have to avoid this restaurant.

Have always ordered delivery from Mantra by Host. Food has been good till now no complaints.

Came with my family to see if the rumours were true.and they were. Ordered a few apps and currys and this place did not disappoint. Traditional Indian cuisine with a unique twist. Can’t wait to come back.

Visited “Mantra by host” this afternoon and enjoyed the experience.
Dishes tried: Tandoori lamb chops, chicken Hakka noodles, Lamb pepper fry, chilli onion naan, watermelon mojito.
The food taste was nice, great ambience and good service by the staff.
The menu is overpriced for the quantity and taste, can visit for trying once or twice but cannot go back on a regular basis.

They clearly are doing something right in the kitchen. On my first visit I wasn't sure what to get so I played it safe with the chicken platter, if you're boring that's what you get I'm wasn't familiar with Indian cuisine so my next time I order half the menu and tried most of the other dishes and I loved it I can go on and on but you should try for yourself.

Came here for winterlicious for the lunch hour. Got the pakora, mushroom caps, roadside chicken curry and the rasmali tiramisu and gulab jamun. Mushroom caps were okay. Pakora was excellent. Chicken curry was also nice. The naan was probably their best dish. It was soft and fluffy. The rice was a little bit over cooked. The desserts did taste like they were bought from the refrigerated aisle at the grocery stores and then just put together. It did not have the authentic taste that I was hoping for. Service was good although it did take a long time for the food to come after ordering.

Momos were disappointing. Chicken biryani was OK. Tandoori chicken tikka was good. Service was great. Overall had good experience.

Food is tasty but a bit bland for the Indian palette unless you request for customizations. The paneer tikka with the added spice mix is tasty. The Afghani tikka is mild and best suited for kids.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant when it comes to the service. Food is great only reason I give 2 stars but employees are soooo trash to there PAYING customers. Instead of rectifying the wrong order they brought to our table they rather argue with us and blame US for ordering wrong. I really hope this location goes out of business for they deserve it. We ended up leaving as they REFUSED to bring out what we initially asked for, standing firm on there belief of the “customers are always wrong”. Truly disappointing from a once loved restaurant

Service was good but food was not that good. Nepali style momo were definitely store bought frozen momo with too much dough and with out momo chutney. I wouldn’t call that momos at all. Naan was fluffy and good but overall portions for lamb chops and curry was less when price are on higher side. Staff is friendly but there are definitely better tasting Indian restaurant in town for the price. Service 8/10, Food: 6/10, price worth: 5/10

The most delicious Indian restaurant I've been to in Toronto! The curry was so creamy and flavourful, and the naans were soft. The Samosas were super crispy and also very delicious. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for Indian. When we ordered the vindaloo the server warned us it was extremely spicy, but if you enjoy spice regularly, it shouldn't be too spicy for you. It has a good kick.
The servers were friendly and attentive. I just wish the tables were a little bit bigger so you can share dishes together.

I went there for dinner last night with my husband and baby, we had a really great experience. Food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Main course paneer was tasty, and Rasmalai Tiramisu is something unique and a must try if you have a sweet tooth. We ordered few items from weekly specials so it helped the pocket too. Definitely will be coming again.

Amazing experience! The cocktails were great, service was amazing and our food was really delicious. Absolutely no complaints and I know I'll be coming here again!

Food was ok. Had to return the lamb slider as it was cold and bun was hard.
Service was really mediocre for a Monday evening. Not a patch on host in Richmond hill.
Was not served water properly, plates were just left on the table. Had to get up to ask for bill as no one was around. Kitchen was busy doing takeaway delivery orders, long wait.

Ordered following items (Pickup) :

Paneer Kofta: 2/5 Cardamom/Fennel seeds overpowered the other flavors and taste. Couldn't eat even one kofta.

Road side chicken curry: 4/5 this dish is very good at taste.

Garlic Naan: 4/5 Soft and buttery

Roti: 3/5 a little bit dry and hard

Lachha Paratha: 1/5 the central part felt like a thick dough.

Overall 2.5/5

Food is very quality, however the portion size is a bit off. Plenty of rice in briyani but no meat same with curry. For the price you can get a whole meal for your family at a local Indian spot but for a date or business dinner this is the spot

We came to Mantra for lunch. We thought it was closed as we drove close to the restaurant as it looked dark from the outside. It maybe a good idea for them to put an Open neon sign by the window. It wasn't busy at the restaurant, many empty tables. The server was good. She checked on us during our visit. Food was yummy. The atmosphere was good except the music was a bit loud at the time of day while only a few tables were occupied. We requested to turn down the music and they did. Overall it was a good visit with some left over curry to take home.

This place is a FRAUD halal restaurant! They told us they don’t serve halal meat and they do not even have a halal certificate for their restaurant. They told us to go downtown location to see it! As a muslim i only eat Halal certified meat and u cannot scam me of my religion or anyone else!

The food was really great, must try their biryani. They have good options for vegetarian options, they have good reach Indian taste in their Indian currys, if you ask them to make it desi style they will make the food they way you eat in India. They really need to improve on their drinks, cocktail did not taste that good.

I went there with my friends and it was our first time there, Our server Kawalpreet suggested us the best dishes, we loved everything, the ambience, the food and specially the service.
She was so sweet and I must mention it was the best service that I have ever experienced.
I will surely come with my family next time and would like to be served by her only.

This is the best Indian food I’ve had in a while. Dinner was rich, creamy, and the right level of spice. Interior was cool and welcoming. Staff were the right level of attentive and food came relatively quickly. It gets busy so be sure to make a reservation.
