Cool place with great food and a nice atmosphere. I loved the Tavern Pie and I appreciated the tasty non-alcoholic drink selections.

Oh my goodness, this may be my favourite place to go now! Service was kind and attentive, the kitchen staff is communicative and so deeply skilled, it's incredible.

I had the fire roasted eggplant off the Autumn menu and it reminded me of when I lived in Cyprus. So delicious and cooked absolutely perfectly.

I don't live in Toronto, but I will definitely be back soon.

Food was great, especially the shrimp chips. Yummy yummy shrimp chips. We did all small dishes, and the sticky toffee pudding for desert. Really happy with the new chef.

I haven’t seen the patio. Inside is just the right amount of dim. The food is delicious, and they always surprise me with something new and unexpected (we go once or twice a year). They have two cocktails on tap, which is fun: rye and ginger, or Manhattan; both of which are perfect and served with flair. Go. You won’t be disappointed.

Came here with my partner after work. We called prior and asked if we needed a reservation, they told us they had lots of tables and space on the phone and it wouldn't be necessary.

When we arrived the hostess, who was barely 18, was rude, did a once over of what we were wearing. Mind you, we ve been to tons of high end michelin restaurants, and no one has ever scoffed us for wearing t-shirt and pants w sneakers. Like I'm sorry, but even server's at alo wear jeans and sneakers, it was so unnecessary.

She then made a big deal of us not having a reservation, and did big dramatic gesture of walking around the floor 3 times, stating they had no tables. We told her we called literally 20 mins prior and wrote told thwre qas lota of space. She then offered to sit us at the bar, we stated no as we could see many booths and tables available (this was on a weekday at 1700, so not even weekend). We told her if they didn't have space and we weren't welcome we can go somewhere else. She then magically found a table in the back for us.

We watched numerous other people vome in, dressed business casual who were seated right away despite not having a reservation. We asked the 2 tables next to us and they confirmed this. We also had our meal and saw at least 4 tables untouched the entire 3 hrs and remained empty when we left.

The complete pretension and snobby attitude of the host, and servers was so unnecessary and off putting.
It's like they typecast us as dine and dashers or riff raff. So. Rude.

The food was great, it was super tasty and its unfortunate bc we live 15 mins away and we're looking for a regular place for food, but after this experience we never want to go back.
We ordered over 150$ of food and still left them a 20% tip to ensure we broke any stereotypes of us and were super polite the whole time.

Get over your snobby affair environment you're trying to make. You're just hurting your own business.

I’ve been dying to make it to Maple Leaf Tavern for a few years now to try their burger. I finally made it summer 2023 and it was spectacular! Worth the wait.
Service was a bit slow but we weren’t fussed, nor in a rush. We sat outside by the old ‘maple leaf tavern’ sign which was very cool.
Again, thé burger was incredible! Highly recommend.

Our server said they’re opening for lunch which is going to be awesome!

Let me tell you of a little tavern, I call my home away from home. From the emerald bricks on the wall to rustic lighting, the ambience of Maple Tavern captures your heart. Esther and her team go beyond many’s reach to make you feel warm and comfortable, yet classy and always on point. Esther continues to bring a dining experience together without one seam out of place, her leadership skills and personality is one to always take note of, for it's beyond formal and caring if not first definitely second nature. Mike the bartender always with a smile, able to have anyone in delightful conversation, and has never missed serving a class drink that keeps you feeling like a formal gentleman that warms your heart. I tip my hat to the Tavern I get to call home away from home. Thank you for making me feel more than welcome. For future viewers, don't miss the opportunity to feel at home.

The service was really good but the food was not good. We had cod that was not fresh (very fishy smelling and tasting) the pork chop was 80%fat
Small potatoes were reheated.
We were quite disappointed and will not return.

This was the first time I have eaten here. I wanted to try something different. This place was amazing. We sat at the Chef's rail. It was great we could see everything going on in the kitchen. Our dessert was even served by the Chef himself. We will definitely be back to try the regular menu.

Always a great experience. Fantastic service and great food. A hidden gem. Good opportunity to do food sharing with few guests as they have some larger plates.

I had the best first date of my life here tonight. I’m so glad I chose Maple Leaf Tavern as this first outting!

The ambience was beautiful it felt like a combination of upscale 70s 90s with modern flare, cool servers and BEAUTIFUL FOOD.

My date and I started with a couple glasses of champagne which were served up in beautiful cold glassware by our awesome servers Jodi &
Heather.

We started with the beet salad which is by no means a regular salad and the mustard on it really something special. Then we took our servers recommendation for the steak tartare which is served in a huge bone. Very special touch that I’ve never seen before.

Awesome spot, service, music, food, and ambience we created a very special memory here and will be sure to return.

By the way there is a section in the restaurant that is open and you can watch the chefs make your food and enjoy the action of the restaurant.

It’s an architectural masterpiece that sits right on the Frenchman’s bay waterfront with spectacular sunset water views of both Lake Ontario and the Frenchman’s Bay. Located 20 minutes east in the suburb of Pickering which is how I heard about this location Maple Leaf Tavern.

Had dinner at Maple Leaf Tavern with friends last night, and it was amazing! Had several different appetizers and side dishes and all were delicious.especially the brussels sprouts! Mains and desserts were all excellent as well.not to mention the best martini I've ever had! Very nice menu choices and service was outstanding. Highly recommended!

Came here to celebrate a milestone with family visiting from out of province. We wanted somewhere with high end food with cozy/comfy atmosphere, Maple Leaf Tavern did not disappoint!

One thing I noticed as soon as I entered was how staffed up they were! There were SO many people working - and it showed with the service. Our water glasses never even made it to halfway, we ordered 3 starters, drinks, and 4 mains and it was some of the most efficient service I've seen in a while. Start to finish we were there for only about 1h20mins!

The food was incredible, everything had such rich and vibrant flavour. It was balanced impeccably, and the presentation was beautiful.

I wouldn't say this is a hidden gem (since the building itself is so large) but the exterior presentation definitely does not match the fine dining experience. Check it out when you're able (you'll need reservations on weekends)!

Try the seats overlooking the kitchen. We had a great dinner which included a conversation with the chef while he was cooking. He gave us the inside scoop on the best dishes and provided a free sample. So delicious.

Hey there. We went there for a brunch, had heard a lot about this place! It was a meal worth the visit!
We tried three savoury pancakes, one each and couldn’t finish any of them (the quantity is so generous!) We had the hot Dutch, the meat feast and some like it hot. I liked the hot Dutch the most. We asked for chilli oil on the side to give our spicy tooth some treat!
In the sweet one, we had the poffertjes fruit and ice cream pancake and the banana chocolate waffle!

I really enjoy MLT, and the Manhattan's are fantastic! I really like the environment and when i'm having dinner with a friend, there's no better seat than at the Chef's table overlooking the kitchen in action.

I love the creative twist on the menu using fresh local produce and ingredients and their drinks are not bad. I was first introduced to them when I had their Thanksgiving take home menu for 8 during covid. And subsequently tried their Valentine's menu. The burrata in the appetizer is amazing. Everything on their menu is. Hostesses and waitresses are absolutely nice. Great ambiance and great food.

My husband and I had a great time at Maple Leaf Tavern. Great food: lobster cavatelli, aspargus, halibut, brussels, and rhubarb pavlova as a desert. Woww, everything to die for! I had Paloma fresca as my drink. Amazing environment, and Heather was our waitress, who was very helpful and knowledgeable. It's worthy every penny.

Great cuisine! When the toast knocks your socks off you know you are in a wonderful meal. (imho). We'll be back.

Just had the best dinner out and top notch service in years! As a big birthday celebration we ordered a wide variety of items off the menu and each one was delicious! Highly recommend the burger, Brussels, Beets and chocolate tarts. Plus, staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. Great place to get together with friends!

Came here for a cocktail. Was hoping to get a maple cocktail of some sort and the bartender whipped up a special concoction that did not disappoint. It was exactly what I wanted. He was super friendly too.

The atmosphere here is classy and cozy. I would totally have had dinner here if I didn’t already have a reservation somewhere else. Definitely would come back here. Special spot. Love how friendly the staff is. They know what they’re doing when it comes to customer service.

We had a fantastic experience at Maple Leaf Tavern. The staff from the host to chef is warm and welcoming. Our host Esther is friendly, helpful and accommodating. It made our dinner out that much more enjoyable. The food is great and the atmosphere is perfect. Our kids enjoyed the food and the adults love the menu.

It was a lovely evening, this place may have "Tavern" in its name but it feels more like a "Bistro". Service was great, food was delicious. The decor is warm and inviting. Try it out, you won't regret it. Now. I can't guarantee that you will love it, but I am comfortable saying that you will like it.

MLT is now "our" restaurant, the place we go to for a special night out. The menu goes from cheeseburger to risotto and changes with the seasons. My wife loved the beet salad and I thoroughly enjoyed the Cavatelli with lobster and mushrooms. Special dinner for 2 - $150

Shared a very nice dinner here after just getting in from Alberta. The service was almost too friendly! Everyone wanted to know our names and it did get a bit annoying after 3 asks.haha. But, you can tell they're really going the extra mile in these times. We had a complimentary app (fried chicken peas, was delicious) which was such a nice touch.

Overall this was the best service we had in our 5 day Toronto trip.

This place never fails to impress. They have excellent dishes for affordable pricing, there no long wait even when the place is full.

The service and the food was incredible. Restaurants have been through a tough time this year and this one deserves special recognition, hence why I am writing this review. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Must try the burrata, fried chicken, chimisteak and asparagus. Esther went out of her way to make sure our table had a mind blowing experience. She truly is the epitome of miss hospitality. Michael our waiter was genuine and attentive to all of our needs and took great care of us.

We got introduced to the new executive chef Stefane. He has elevated the menu and made a point to source locally. Job well done on a new fresh menu. We will be patience to see what other items are added on in the next month! We will be back in two weeks. Thank you for a wonderful experience post covid.

Oustanding customer service and food! The manager rolled out an umbrella for my girlfriend and I and even offered us sunscreen.

MLT is a staple in the East end Toronto and is undoubtably our favourite spot. They are always reinventing themselves and most recently brought a new Chef onboard who has created a spectacular summer menu. Always a treat to try the new delicious. The staff are professional and genuine and that certainly goes a long way. Can't wait to introduce some friends there this week!

I had such a great time! I went on my own for dinner. The service was top notch, the server, bartender, GM and the Chef checked on me several times, did not feel like I was alone. Everyone was very nice and caring.

Loving the new menu - perfect for the summer season with lots of fresh, unique and super tasty options (makes it very hard to choose!). The staff is so friendly and welcoming, it really feels like ‘home’ when you’re there which is hard to say for most restaurants

This spot is fantastic in almost every way. Being closed for the lock downs was brutal but they adapted with holiday and other pick-up specials. Now the patio is back. They have a staged menu. Burger was a bit different, still excellent but we really (!) Liked it with pimento cheese like before. Also I am sure the turkey wing will be back. ;). Service is phenomenal! Kid's burger was a nice touch as well, could have dinged us full freight but did not.

Great atmosphere, delicious elevated gastro pub in the East end of Toronto. Patio is modest a little loud but comfortable (and covered).

Thought the burrata was delicious especially with the candied walnuts but the side milk bread was *devine* especially with their home made butter. Wow!

Had the lobster cavatelli mixed with peas, oyster mushrooms and asparagus. Perfectly cooked, lovely seasoned and worth it with the mountains of lobster in the dish!

Cocktails were nice but nothing to write home about.

Awesome food and vibe. The new chef Stephane is very cool too. The rhubarb burrata with candied walnuts was a 12 out of 10. The hamburger and fries are out of the park. It was the first burger I've ever had that looked exactly like the picture. Highly recommend this east-end gem.

An ace experience at the tavern! They have a great patio vibe with the perfect combination of privacy and action. The Burrata (A MUST!), Avocado & Shrimp, Cavateli and burger were all delicious and shareable. Perfect drinks pairings for the summer season bringing a refreshed taste to the evening. It’s evident that the chef Stephan is passionate about bringing a memorable experience to tavern guests. The best dining experience we’ve had since the start of the pandemic. Can’t wait to come back and try all the other dishes we saw come out and immediately regretted not ordering!

We ordered the prime rib dinner and it was excellent. We really enjoyed the entire meal - it easily reheated after a few minutes in the oven and was perfectly cooked. The sauce, potatoes and brussels sprouts were great accompaniments as was the Yorkshire pudding. We will definitely order again. Thanks Maple Leaf Tavern.

We always enjoyed dining here and sitting at the bar. For Christmas we ordered their special meal and it was delicious. Packed perfectly with easy reheat instructions, made it very easy for us. Shrimp cocktail is always my fav go to.

This is possibly the best restaurant in Toronto. The chef Jesse Vallins is a genius. The food is amazing. I honestly haven't had anything that I didn't like. The staff are attentive and prompt. If you are looking for great food, intimate atmosphere or want some great take out at home, I highly recommended this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city. On my first visit, my wife and I dropped in without a reservation and they only had a small section available, which turned out to be (in my opinion) the best seat in the house. Looking over their wood fired grill, watching the chefs cook. That was a very nice night and started my love affair with this place.

I bring all my friends and coworkers here and they love it. I brought my mother who was visiting from out west and two years later she still talks about the froie gras hassleback potatoes.

The real thing that caught our attention from the first visit was the roasted cauliflower and cheese sauce. This dish is some sort of culinary wizardry that I harass the staff about in order to learn a bit more about it each visit. It's outrageously good and I order it every time. Their burger is truly great, and I recommend you get their burger kits for takeout cause they turn out so great at home.

This is a truly special neighborhood place. All the food, cocktails - everything is great. The decor and ambiance inside is wonderful as well. Please do what you can and support your local restaurants during this dumpster fire of a situation. I feel conflicted on this one.

The service was really good. The staff was fast and friendly.

The food was okay, not great. I had the striploin and asparagus. The striploin wasn't cooked consistently throughout - medium rare was more like medium blue/rare/well at random points. It's like the heat source was inconsistent. For the price, not where I feel like it needs to be.

Classic rock is really odd choice for the venue and the vibe they appear to be going for. Contemporary would have been much more appropriate. If classic is a sticking point - Motown would have been a much better fit.

I liked it, but with so many options in the area I'm not sure we'll be back. It's a bummer, I wanted to love this place.

My boyfriend and I went here for a summerlicious date night and we were both really impressed. We ordered the sausage, Cesar salad and fish cakes to start, which was tons of food! The cedar salad and the fish cakes were particularly good. The cesar portion was huge with a ton of bacon and a very lovely dressing and the fish cakes were perfectly crispy with a delicious mayo based sauce with a bit of kick to it. Our eyes must have been bigger than our stomachs, because 3 appetizers was definitely too much. For mains he had the striploin burger and I had the pastrami smoked short rib. His burger was very rich with a FANTASTIC home made mayo on the burger, which was also served on the side for the fries. My short rib was fall off the bone and the accompanying bean and corn sides paired extremely well. For dessert I had the stick toffee pudding which I wish I had more room for because at this point I was bursting but it was probably one of my favorite desserts ever! My boyfriend had the ice cream bar with crushed caramel popcorn which was not as much of a winner, as the popcorn didn't really add much to the dish, though it's hard to go wrong with an ice cream bar! We both had the sloe Joe cobbler cocktail which was lovely but had maybe a bit too much ice. The service the phenomenal, timely and attentive and the ambiance and decor were very inviting. I particularly loved the light fixtures and floor tiles as it gave it a mid century feel.

Tldr; Overall FANTASTIC experience, would recommend to anyone for a high end date night or special occasion.

I remember when this was the kind of place you would avoid, it's so nice to se what's been done with it. The decor was nice, the food was amazing and the service was excellent.

Had an excellent dinner, so much food, all of it delicious. The wood smoked dishes add an extra degree of savoury delight.

Seriously amazing place. Food is fantastic. The garlic bread is so so good. We had the ribeye with the carrots, cauliflower and fries, the Cheddar emulsion with the cauliflower is binge worthy by itself. The steak was perfectly cooked and the red wine sauce is was delicious. We were also celebrating our anniversary and in the reservation I mentioned I'd like to preorder dessert and it all came without question as well as making us a card signed by all the staff. Really classy touch. Thanks so much ️

Consistently great service (especially the bartenders), top-notch cocktails, and delicious food. The rotating sausage sharing plate is always awesome, as are the fish cakes, and the burger. Go between 3 and 6 on Thursdays and Fridays for "Tipple Time" drink and snack specials.

Great value! Reasonable price for very good food. Tartare was tasty and fresh. Famous for their burger, it was a solid pick. Atmosphere is very nice. Staff did a great job too!

This is my favorite spot in the area. Amazing drinks, fun bartenders. I've tried most things on the menu. The burgers are amazing. You can split the rib eye with someone and you'll still be stuffed. Scotch eggs.all kinds fo great stuff and a great atmosphere. It's a great building.
They also have a REAL kids menu - not just the usual frozen chicken fingers and mac and cheese you find everywhere else. At most places we just order our 3 year old something from the regular menu since the children's menu is so awful. But here, they have great choices for kids, which we really appreciate.

The food is delicious both my tomato soup and lasagna were full of flavor. The staff are friendly and take a few minutes to talk to customers. I loved the complimentary pickles. Definitely worth a visit

Really disappointing. Food was sub-par, definitely not worth the price. The beans that came with our breakfast were god-awful, I have no idea what they were thinking. Service was pretty poor too mainly from the rather pretentious barman who seemed to think he owned the place. All in all another bistro-esque place made for the instagram crowd that looks like it’s trying to be high end and charges accordingly but provides a very poor end product. Save your money and don’t bother.

Went for Winterlious and was pleasantly surprised. Portion sizes were huge, drinks were great, and our waiter was very attentive. Atmosphere was also great, lots of people having a good night out!
