Bought an ice-cream cake for my daughters birthday and was very disappointing and not cheap. It was a chocolate brownie cake with little to no brownie bits in it except for the few on top. Would not recommend them for their cakes. What a let down!
Pretty good but a little pricey. Paying credit or debit prompts you to leave a tip, which everyone seems to be doing now even when it is not a sit down restaurant.
There is an old white lady so disrespectful so rude. She involve herself with other stuff that’s not involved with. Let’s say you talk with another worker she comes and involve her self with rude attitude.
The ice cream quality is pretty good. It is kind of expensive but can by worth it if you go with toppings. I find the flavours tho are inconsistent. Sometimes the flavours are waaay stronger in some batches compared to others on other days.
Best mint chip ice cream in Hamilton. Love the fact you can choose your topping to add in. I also want to mention how fresh their waffle bowls always are.
I went in last week for a milkshake, only to be greeted with the most disrespectful staff ever her name was Morgan. I have a service animal that I have to bring everywhere usually not a big deal as I have a backpack for him and carry him on my back. Morgan was very discriminating against the service animal, she demanded my to know the service that was provided, why I needed a service animal. I provided a letter from my doctor which is usually enough but it was not for her, then she treatens to call the cops on me for having a service animal. DO NOT COME HERE!
Good ice cream bad service covid crazy owners. They make there staff wear masks it's sad. It's a ice cream shop not the hospital. You can see the kookoo owner double masked up.
Not terrible. It is very busy. Staff is not friendly. Restaurant is pretty clean.
The ice cream is not as good or tasty as Baskin Robbins or other good ice cream shops or even what you buy in a grocery store. Their waffle cones have many holes all over that leak ice cream everywhere. They put candy and toppings in the ice cream which helps if that's what you want.
The prices are ridiculous. $10 per person. Not even close to worth it.
Disappointing experience. Been coming here for years and have had many free cards filled because of the many visits. They served my son some off flavoured ice cream which he didn’t like and even after asking, the owner’s daughter rudely rejected the request and was ok with us just throwing it out. Poor customer service. This is the last time I’m ever coming here.
How brutal can a place be. Being told I can’t sit down at bench while they mix our ice cream. I chase my 5yo around all day and suffer from back pain and all I ever want to do is sit sometimes. But apparently you can catch Covid while sitting. I’m guessing the owners that make these rules have a medical degree but choose to serve ice cream instead. I’d rather go anywhere else but this place, and in fact I will. I’d rather eat warm freezies from the grocery store then give them my business. What business sense does it make to run an ice cream shop and not give anyone anywhere to eat it, no seating inside and no seating outside. Have to use to bus stop garbage can to throw out your trash, which I’m assuming most end up as litter.
Super fast service seeing that it's a small ice cream parlor. We love stopping in on Sunday evenings for a cone. Lots of things to choose from and you won't be disappointed because the quality is really good. My favorite is the double dark chocolate but if you really want the one I go to when I'm not feeling for that it's vanilla mixed with strawberry.
First thing I get after walking in is "PUT YOUR MASK OVER YOUR NOSE SIR" like we arent 2 days away from getting rid of the mandate. Ice cream is over priced. Staff is rude. I will not return here.
Linda is the owner as she proudly tells her annoying customers. Last week I had to go get 2 ice cream cakes in short notice. I arrivrd andvstood by the door as they "served" customers.
Talk about a miserable soul. She has no business being the face of any establishment with a customer service element to it. Watching her and the team of Karen's she employs was jaw dropping. I was disgusted that when Linda asked what she could for me I said if she could give me directions to a Dairy Queen I not spending my money here with that attitude.
People please take your business elsewhere. No one needs to be dealing with people like this.
As I opened the door adjusting my mask which was on my face I was greeted by a shrieking Karen to have my mask on or she won't serve me. It was on. I was also the only customer. After inquiring about the lively greeting and to pick up am order that was not ready by the agreed time I was treated and talked down to by the owner. Canceled my order drive to DQ made do with substituted items enjoyed and was treated like a proper customer.
Awful customer service. Staff embarrassed my 5 year old daughter yesterday whom doesn’t wear a mask for breathing purposes. They made her & my Husband leave the store, told them it was still required she wore a mask! Can’t believe these people. We’ve been everywhere and never encountered this type of mistreatment before. After reading other reviews it’s clear they want all our kids muzzled, and reasoning for not having a mask on your child is invalid at this location. Purple Pony in Ancaster is a much better local ice cream shop to support. Don’t waste your money here.
Save yourself the trouble and go to the Ancaster location! The worst customer service ever. Trying to make my 2 year old niece wear a mask. These people are covid crazy. My boyfriend adjusted his mask and the worker automatically came at him.
Can’t even believe what this world is coming to- making a 2 year old wear a mask - hilarious! Take your hard earned money elsewhere.
The workers here are ridiculous they need a reality check. Losers
Ice cream is a favorite treat of mine. I love the concept of Marble Slab Creamery where patrons get to choose the flavor of ice cream and toppings. But I'm reviewing this particular branch. The lack of stars is for serving the melting ice cream. I think the AC should be cranked up in the store to fight the heat so that customers are not coming out with half of their ice cream dripping on their hand.
I was very happy with the service I got here, the staff was super friendly and as always the ice cream was delicious, be prepared covid rules for the restaurant only allow one group at a time in so I assume it probably gets quite busy if there is a crowd you will be waiting outside. It would be nice to have a little area to sit and enjoy your treat but thats not really practical in this situation due to it being right in the mall complex. This example definitely makes me want to go back and I would definitely feel confident visiting any of the other ones from this chain of restaurant. I don't normally tip for ice cream but I did this time I think that says it all.
I was there this evening and I was disgusted with how a staff member reacted to a little girl who was so excited to try her ice cream they started complaining. Yes I get it about covid and all but she was no more then 2 years old shame on you so being mean to a little child I will be telling all my friends to not go there anymore if this is how they treat little kids.
Not too much a fan of the ice cream and the cost. If anyone is looking for great ice cream for a great price search Biggies up online. It’s on Upper Sherman Ave.
Also, in terms of customer service the people serving my husband and I were quietly speaking to each other and looking at us condescendingly as though they were talking about us. After we received that treatment even though we were both wearing a mask when my husband just went to adjust his the second he did the one woman was on his case. She seemed a little paranoid. Maybe she shouldn’t be working there if she’s so scared.
Just didn’t feel like a nice welcoming environment.
No one here apparently has common sense. Made a simple order for a chocolate drizzled cone (special instructions) i put that I wanted regular chocolate instead of white and to my surprise my whole order got cancelled.y u may ask.because they do not have regular chocolate. Bare in mind the original option was yes.white chocolate so instead of giving me the option that was there THEY CANCELLED THE WHOLE THING #commonsensenotsocommon
Good but not great Ice Cream and the size of two scoops is about the size of one scoop from local non corporate vendors. My first time there was surprised that they weighed the Ice Cream.
Amazing service, workers were extremely patient and kind to us, variety was great and ice cream was delicious, and had great vegan options! Place was clean and sanitary, would go again and again
Amazing ice cream and frozen yogurt! Sometimes the Instagram page will post “flavours of the day” but they won’t all be on the Uber eats flavour options so I’ll make notes asking for the daily flavour and mix ins I want and they always follow the instructions:) good service and ice cream
Ice cream is good and so is the service but the price is a bit high. No better then some of the similar ice cream stores in the area but much higher price.
Very nice customer service- the two girls working at the time of this review were extremely patient and helpful in explaining to us how we could order and use our loyalty cards! Amazing ice cream as usual! Would definitely recommend others to come here!
Am going to be honest Yall the ice-cream is so good but the only issue was customer service, every time i go there i feel like being rushed even though am the only one in the store.after choosing my ice-cream flavor i asked for two topping to be mixed in and told the employee to add on pice of cake on top and the white manger came out and she refused without an explanation, even though i know i was supped tp get as much toping as i want, I told her ill pay for the extra and she still refused.and the most sadist thing it the only location in Hamilton. To the head office if your reading this pleas don't send me a coupon all I ask is to see what's going on with the store customer service. I don't want to drive 40-50 minutes drive to another location just to have and enjoy my favorite ice-cream
I will preface this with I really love ice cream, so may opinion may be slightly bias. I have never been disappointed going to Marble slab, they always have a great selection of ice cream, toppings, and cones/cups/bowls.
They are being cheap in putting toppings even though it should be unlimited toppings in large cup. I can understand it should be reasonable amount of toppings but at last it is not even filling the whole cup which i dont think work 7.99$ dessert.
I've recently discovered this place. The selection is amazing lots of options for both icecream flavours and toppings! It's always busy but well staffed so the wait isn't long.
They were upset with me using Franchise Issued Coupons. I was told that they were busy and didn't need coupons to drum up business. I haven't been back since.
Lots of choices of ice cream and lots of choices for toppings to make near endless possibilities. Staff is friendly and very clean interior. Would recommend.
Went for the free ice cream sandwich for CAA members. The man who served us seemed to hate his job. It wasn’t even busy so I didn’t see a reason for the poor attitude. Won’t go back to this location.
I took my 4 yr old grandson for icecream, I asked for no mix in just a bit of sprinkle on top and the girl totally refused, said no, only mixed in. I asked her why and she totally ignored me and mixed it in. Aweful customer service. Willnot go back.
I really wanted to like this place, however I found all the ice cream flavors I tried bland and flavorless. I ended up ordering something anyways, and got a couple of toppings. Then I asked for something on top (because i wasn't sure if i would like it, and can pick it off if i don't) and was told I could only have toppings mixed in to the ice cream, not on top. They ignored when I asked why? I can't imagine why it would matter. Anyways customer service was fine up to then, they let me sample a couple of flavour before deciding. Seating is awkward too. I would not come back. Clearly they don't care about their customers or the owner would be reading and responding to their comments.
Their ice cream is by far the best on the block. Just wish they had salted caramel. Hence why they didn't get five stars. How they got cereal milk flavour but no slated caramel? Smh
The Marble Slab Creamery on upper james in Hamilton has terrible customer service. We went for an after dinner treat on April 19th. The place was packed. We were so excited to get our ice cream. Elias ordered the bubble gum with a dunk sprinkle waffle cone and started eating when he started to notice that the gum pieces were really hard to chew, in fact, he was worried about chipping a tooth. After much debate, we came to the conclusion that he could not eat the ice cream. I kindly asked if we could just replace the ice cream in his sprinkle cone with something else. We were told no we couldn't. We would have to purchase a whole new ice cream. They didn't offer us a free replacement or a half price cone- that's right- we threw out the cone he had just ordered and had to buy a new one on our first visit there. Elias was so embarrassed. The young girl was talking down to him the whole time- like "now are you SURE that's what you want? " Etc etc. We ate our ice cream in the car we were so upset. I emailed the creamery with our experience and received an email response supporting the employees actions in the situation stating that they never get bad reviews on their bubble gum. I was offered a BoGo coupon.
Needless to say we won't be returning.
That's okay- Big Scoops in Hamilton is worth the drive!
Super friendly service. This is my favourite cheap "date" location because its not your regular ice cream store. You get to choose what goes into your ice cream and watch them smash it all together on the marble counter top and with so many toppings to choose from the options are literally endless. Deffinitely needs to be experienced first hand.
