Went for a haircut and roots touch up on December 23,2023 at Danforth location.
My whole experience was disappointing. I almost spend half a day at the Danforth location to have the job completed.
To begin with, I was made to wait 30 minutes pass my appointment time. The haircut took over an hour to complete. The supervisor took her own sweet time to advise/guide the student on the colouring process for my hair. The roots touch was disappointing as my grey were noticeable after the next day. In addition, I was surprised to be billed for a total amount of $72 with tax. $50 for root touch is ridiculous, especially if the job is done by a student who lacks colouring experience.

Ronak is such a gifted stylist! She did such an amazing job with my hair! Plus the girls there are so sweet! I had such a positive experience! Farhana is so friendly and kind! Honestly I feel like this place is better than any salon I’ve ever been to because of the quality of service and positive environment. I can’t say enough good things about this salon! Such a wonderful experience! Thank you! Thank you!

Came in September for a manicure. I had Munizza. We spoke and she recommended a nail polish that would stand up to how much I would have to use my hands. She did an excellent job and my nails lasted for the time I needed.

I’ve been going to Marca for years for root touch-ups. The appointment flexibility and affordability work great for me. Thank you, Neda, for being such a pro. Professional customer service, quick and thorough colour application, excellent wash out (typically the phase that doesn’t get done great here), and nice blow out. I was in and out in about two hours. This is a hair school, so it’s not the same result every time depending on the student but an overall great value, especially when you need colour touch-ups regularly.

Excellent place for a good cut, if you go ask for Nivine, a very talented girl, highly recommended

I went to Marca College recently for an Ombre/ Balayage service and I cannot emphasize how well taken care I was by the students and the teacher. It was a lengthy process due to all the care and work put into achieving this amazing colour! I am beyond satisfied! As someone who doesn’t get their hair coloured too often and is extremely particular about hair care (only my second time doing a balayage), this was a high-quality experience. My experience at this Marca College has been warm and comfortable. Victoria was my last student and I have requested her for my next visit because I was very pleased with her skills and personality. She seemed to enjoy me as a customer even though I hardly stopped talking during the whole procedure.

I had the wondeful opportunity of being Syka's model for a pedicure. She was very mindful, attentive and professional. She did a really good job. The foot massage was bliss. Would highly recommend her.

Got a haircut from Lykha for the second time at Marca College on March 22nd and she did not disappoint! I asked for a mid bald fade and Lykha did exactly what I wanted. She was very professional and really took her time to make sure that I was happy with my haircut. I will definitely keep coming back to get a haircut from her and HIGHLY recommend to book with her!

Hands down one of the best experiences I've had in Canada so far. I would definitely recommend asking for Sufi. She's got magic in her hands! I showed her an older picture of my hairstyle and she understood right there and then of what exactly I wanted. Really friendly staff and a cool environment to experience. If you need a new look for your hair, This is the place!

Just leaving their Danforth location extremely disappointed. I've been using Marca for my facial experience on and off for twenty years. Last week I had a microdermabrasion with a "professional" THE WORST SERVICE EVER.not even student quality.that bad. So I booked a specialized facial for today and asked for anyone but her. What did they do? Yes booked me with the incompetent. I just wasted 1.5 hours to come here. On the bright side on my way back home I found another spa and trying it out now.

Just had a colour and cut with a student named Franny. She did an absolutely amazing job! Her teacher checked in periodically and was really sweet. Franny is only 4 months into the program but my hair looks like she's been doing hair for years. Thank you so much Franny and Marca!

I’m literally typing while getting my layout, I got my hair coloured for the first time I was so scared to take the step, but I asked for a bleach free caramel/mohogany balayage and trust me, it was the best decision, Misha was super supportive about my choices while giving her honest opinion, if you go to this location Pls ask to be helped by misha, she’s so knowledgeable, so friendly and made everything so positive! I love it

I've been here a few times and the service is always great! I always come with silly requests and heavily treated hair and come out with great results every time. The instructors are very knowledgeable and the students are patient and provide excellent services. My go-to spot!

I went last Tuesday, going for whole hair colour as I had some colours left but went home with full highlights of cool brown or was it was Ash brown? I am sooo happy and feeling sophisticated with that hair color. When I got there, I showed the pictures of how I wanted my hair to be, and some students and supervisor (the petite one with adorable "Anna Winter" haircut and they were making recommendations etc on what to blend with my skin tone. I strongly wanted to go for ash brown hair color as it's trendy but they were showing me other options. I went ahead for full highlights of cool brown.and I love it! It's sooo me and make me very happy. It does look like ash brown lol! It was so long for 6 hours (because my hair is big) but the staff and students were amazing and very kind. I will be back again in the half year or next year to retouch highlights (I wonder will that work with bleach and then brown if the highlights are there?). I will go visit soon as I wonder what kind of brown is my hair (ash brown or cool brown) because I want to re-touch next year! Thank you for making it look amazing! I’m thoroughly impressed with the service I received. My hair was a bit of a challenge, and they were able to rise to it. I left with exactly what I wanted. My hairstylist (Money) was friendly, hard working and detail oriented, as was his supervisor. I’ll definitely go again.

Today we had a few students come to homeless shelter I work at near by and they worked very hard for 8 straight hours! We thank you very much for helping the clients who are down on their luck.

I went into the salon to get my very dead and dreadful hair cut and back to looking healthy. I wanted to try this salon to support the students and give them a client off the street. When I walked in I was greeted in a very kind and friendly manner. I explained what I wanted and I was paired up with a student named Diana who right away made me feel welcomed. She was very professional and extremely courteous. The best part was when she shampooed my hair OMG she is amazing at it her hands are magic. I nearly fell asleep it was so relaxing I would pay her just to wash my hair. The haircut was fast however very very well done her teacher came to check and she did not have to do anything to it Diana made no errors and I was happy to see that. She then gave me a blow dry and styled it with beach waves. My hair looked amazing I’m disappointed I didn’t take pics to post here. It felt great and looks so healthy and I felt alive and like me again. I recommend to everyone needing a cut and style go here and make sure you ask for Diana. Amazing place and amazing woman with a great sense of humour and very down to earth yet professional and exceptional customer service skills. Thank you Diana see you again real soon

Nazia has done an amazing job on my hair. She is extremely professional and I recommend her highly to anyone who is looking for a fantastic hair stylist.

I would luv to give a very shell out to a wonderful engaging student who came into our residence to serve twenty plus people in a eleven hour window. This woman was so wonderful and dedicated and just what we all needed. A very huge thank you to Dianna Swaetzman for her knowledge of hair oroducts and trust we all had. There were friends that never had contact of a touch but earned effortlessly from the joy we saw after was phenomenal to see she's that came more than the day went on. Please give this student this special acknowledged that she deserves above and beyond as we are sizable but she accomplished us whether it was physical or remotely. Went to get my hair trimmed and colored at the Marco College and MONEY took his time and did a amazing job very happy with the outcome!

I received excellent service at Marca Danforth. Specifically with Samuela, she was very patient and polite and she did a wonderful job with my colour.

My hairstylist was Nazia, i got totally new look with Bayalage. I just show them picture from Pinterest and i got perfect same hair color. Nazia was very good at it, her teacher Rebecca was also nice. She was teaching Nazia and looking into it at every moment. My hair color looks so perfect and moreover people on my workplace loved it too! Nazia really did a great job

My experience with Marca has always been very great. This time around Nadia and Manni, talented and patient individuals has taken care of me and the results were beyond optimal. On top of that Rebecca the kindest and talented supervisor has been a great overseer of the students and made sure I left happy. I first went to marca college for a haircut on January 6th and Becky was amazing. She was patient and did everything absolutely perfect. But unfortunately that wasn’t the case when I went back yesterday for my regular trim and curtain bangs. Nazia did my hair. First of all, she got a lot of water on my face, this doesn’t normally happen. She wiped off my brows and was very careless. Then the haircut was alright. But when it came to the blowdry, she started drying my hair prior to the blowdry which is the wrong way to do it. I asked her why she’s doing that she said she has to dry my hair 70% which is wrong. Doing so made my hair tangle a lot during the blowdry. I tried to find a way to contact the college to let them know but there isn’t a way to do so. So I’m writing here.

I went to get hair partially highlighted and Toneka did my hair very patiently and carefully. I must say that she was very thorough and had exceptionally good manners. She will become a great asset to Marca and I will certainly recommend her to other people. The only drawback was that I spent almost 5 hours in the saloon and that's the longest time that I've ever stayed there. Most probably since was a trainee so it took her a long time but she did a thorough job and I really commend her efforts.

Got a haircut, dye and highlights with Kristen and absolutely LOVE the results! It was a long process (expected given the old bleach/grown out starting point) but totally worth it!

A 4.5. Got my hair balayage ($90+) done by nino and he was absolutely amazing. I wish him loads of success in the future when he graduates. Thank you to the teacher Rebecca also for being very helpful.

At Marca college, your hair is done by students. Always be ready with a picture as it helps them out a lot. Their "on deck" teacher will always be around to help and also help you, the customer, with verifying what you want done to how it looks at the end. Don't expect quick results and just be patient and clear with your thoughts.

Cancelled my appointment without contacting me. Only told me when I was there. And the reception is not sorry about it at all. Super disappointed!

Girl named Kristen was soooo good, polite, so hardworking. Loved her work so much. The teacher was so good too. For sure coming back again and will try to refer as many as I can.

The person who cut my hair by the name of "Kristy" is excellent and superior on her skills. Not only she did my hair amazing but she was able to build great rapport among her clients. We talked about a lot of things. Someone who has great skills on cutting and amazing interpersonal skills are rare these days.
Just to let you know that she is still a student! But the result of her works in my hair was like someone who have 10 years of professional skills!

Ofcourse, behind every great individual who is an expert of their field had someone who mentored, tutored, instructed, and lead them. Kristy's professor is no other than, "Mady! " Don't be deceive by her young looks. She is a professor! Teaching and training students like Kristy the perfect styles and methodologies of hair cutting. Hair cutting is an art. If Mady is a celebrity, she could've produced 3 platinum albums entitled, "Greatest Hits Chapter 1". The way she speak and give feedback is excellent!

I have been coming here for years. My teenage daughters and I had many esthetic services and haircuts at the Danforth location.it has always been a pleasant experience. Our most recent visits included 2 haircuts (for my daughter and for me).

Hiral (hair stylist), is such a wonderful person and was great at communicating. She did an amazing job that included partial highlights with a refreshed hair cut. I received so many compliments on my hair. It's likely one of the best hair salon experiences that I have had. This is a credit to Hiral's exceptional abilities / skills, and to the teacher who is professional, and has an amazingly encouraging personality. Love it!

Kristy was the hair stylist for my teenage daughter. Kristy's absolutely lovely and was also great at communicating with her clients. My daughter loved her hair cut because Kristy did a fantastic job!

Absolutely amazing! I came in with very patchy hair from previous dying, and I wasn’t sure what could be done to make it my natural. My hair stylist Jenny was the best! Matched my hair perfectly and the cut and style was the best. Thank you Jenny and your teachers! Will be back for sure.

Totally destroyed my hair. I made very very clear to staff that what I wanted. They made big mistake, destroyed my hair and didn't accept their mistake even.

I went to Marca on the Danforth. Got my hair blow dry and starighting she did a wonderful job.

What a great place. Service, skill, price.everything was excellent. Was a little bit late for my appointment and they still fit me in.

I went to MARCA Danforth for a cut and colour the day of a work party (which I needed to look good for, given my job is to be on camera). Big mistake.

I walked in and asked if a full head of highlights was a bad idea given my sensitive skin (I've had them before, but some people are more careful than others and I wanted to be reassured). I was assured the bleach wouldn't touch my head and even then it was ammonia free and handed off to a stylist who sat me down and verified we were doing colour. Apparently the cut and all the other information about sensitivity and the idea to use a less harsh toner hadn’t been passed on to her, so I did my best to recount what the instructors had said at the desk. Didn’t matter because 2 hours later when the foils were finally coming out, a method was used that I had never been part of ever before - each strand was pulled through with a towel and then sprayed down with water - painful on two counts. First, because there's a little added traction with a towel and it yanks your hair a little more than anything else and second because the bleach that hadn't touched my scalp before that point was now being sprayed, against my scalp by the water in a process that took about a half an hour and left my scalp mildly burning throughout the duration. Eventually I was taken over to a sink and rinsed and my hair was rung out repeatedly with an aggression that made me think they were trying to detach it from my head (yes, it hurt). I also had my hair brushed by 3 separate people who started from the top and ripped the combs all the way through with both maximum tearing and pain – confusing given even people who AREN’T hairdressers know not to do this. You start at the bottom and work your way up to avoid both. I have never seen so much of my hair somewhere OTHER than my head - it was just all over the paintbrush for the highlights and the combs. AND the little bleach dish. Then came the cut, which I had to convince the stylist was a little bit layered/textured because she kept insisting it was a straight bob. Eventually she called the instructor over who said it WAS textured so the student started cutting and had me bend my head down to accommodate her height which would have been fine but it was slow and my neck got sore from being bent that way for so long. The stylist told me if I had come in earlier she could have styled it too - news to me because I had come in an hour before the cut/colour cut off time that I had been given over the phone the day before. The instructor then continued to finish the bob herself because the whole process had taken so long the school was closing. She puts a few waves in herself and I'm rushed off to pay and they snap a picture for their records and show me the back which is (drum roll) longer than the front - but I think maybe it's just the uneven waves and I'll fix it when I get home. Nope. Got home and the curls had fallen out so I brushed/straightened it to examine aaaand - yep - all crooked and mullet-y as you can see from the pictures (and in now way even a little layered/texturized which was something I asked for a little of even if they didn't see it in the picture). I will mention that the stylist was very sweet and enthusiastic and could make a great hairdresser if she received proper instruction (but that doesn't seem to be what she's getting). The colour looks good but wasn't worth the tugging/burning/overall pain. The cut was atrocious. I know most places offer to fix a bad cut if you go back, but given my experience and the fact that one of the INSTRUCTORS finished this cut, I have zero faith it would turn out any better. It's not worth the time, the pain or the trip there. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This was my second time going back and most definitely won’t be my last! If you want salon quality with affordable pricing this place is most definitely worth a try!

I had a really long hair. So, getting a new haircut was really terrifying. But Dan and Alisa did a great job. The desire for perfection and passion towards getting a perfect haircut were really admirable. I would recommend everyone to try it. I will go back again. Dan you are the best, bro!

I’m a regular and have always had a great experience in this location. Students do such a good job and the teachers are so caring and are always around to make sure students get the assistance they need. The front desk lady is very friendly and she always makes sure that I walk out of the door happy.

I came here to get my hair done. What I witnessed will cause me to never return. The professor was cutting a woman’s hair and cut a piece of her ear. Instead of comforting the woman she was more concerned with getting her to sign a consent form. The man at the front desk was very rude as well. I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone students or clients. Very unprofessional.

Marca College is a Beauty School powered by L'oreal- Here you get heavily discounted hair styling, facials, pedicures and manicures etc etc from students under the watchful eye of an instructor of course.

I have been going there for hair and aesthetics for about 20 years- have watched students turn into teachers after some experience. I have usually had great experiences and the few times things weren't right, it was fixed by either another visit or by the teacher. When you go here, IT IS A SCHOOL- they are learning- don't expect the world to be perfect!

I came to this location because a friend of mine works here. I had a terrible knot that I couldn’t get out and when I had tried to remove it I yanked a lot of hair out. Thankfully they got it out and gave me a cut where it wasn’t not noticeable. Great service definitely recommend it!

I went to Marca today quite late in the day and asked if they could fit in highlights for me - the wonderful staff were extremely accommodating in finding time for me. Adelina, my stylist, and her teachers were warm, welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. I couldn’t believe the level of quality and service I received for such a good price, and my hair is the best it has looked in years. I will absolutely be returning to Marca and would recommend them without hesitation.

Went here to go dark from balyage. Teacher Nicole is useless and ignorant. They lied to my face after doing THREE applications of "colour" (i was told by the student it was toner.) it washed out in 2 weeks (i have picture proof). Student did an awful hack job of a haircut. Three hours later, three washes, three blowdrys just for a colour application and a trim. Absolute nightmare. Do not waste your time and put your hair in their care. Atrocious. Student got "colour" (toner) on the back of my brand new plaid shirt and didn't say a word to me and I noticed when I was home. What a joke.

Went there last year and a student burnt my eyebrows.they told me it would heal now when I do my own eyebrows they hurt and scab I don't recommend this place at all. Find a professional.

I have best experience at Marca, I have my Radio frequency facial the best results I ever seen, instructor Bushra recomonded that facial for me thanks so much to her recommendation, The sweet Girl Lim done this service for me, she is excellent very professional and my skin looks more tight, plump and younger looking I am very happy with results I would recommend the services to my friends
