Absolutely delightful small museum. We happened to be the only visitors in the hour we were there, on a wet weekday in September, but that did not make it miserable. Sole attendant Zack was a mine of interesting information (and a really nice guy anyway), adding more colour to what is anyway a super interesting exhibition of the history of rail and ships connected to the history of Owen Sound. The museum is free but a donation in the box would be appropriate to help maintain this way above average place of interest.
As adults we were very interested in the informative historical information and artifacts, but children would love the generally warm feel of the place, working trainsets and tactile exhibits such as the morse telegraph.

Excellent little museum, the guy who works here is super friendly and a goldmine of information. No entrance fee but make a donation to keep the place going.

We visited this small museum on our way back from Tobermory and it exceeded our expectations! A lovely museum, with lots of models of trains and boats. The guide was very knowledgeable. There were also some activities for the kids.

Stopped here on our way to Tobermory. Unfortunately the place was closed. I was expecting something bigger as it said "museam". My 3 year old had fun seeing the train cars, track and small boat outside. Great location by the water if you want to go for a walk.

Very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate staff

good collection of very detailed rail and ship models - you can definitely feel the love and the effort that goes into maintaining the museum

one of the (very sweet) volunteers there took us on an unprompted and thorough tour of the rail cars there (thanks bill!)

Sweet little spot to sit and enjoy the harbour. Good free music on Sunday evenings in the summer.

Free to visit! Lots of history packed! You can take a stroll around, click pictures, sit along the waterfront boardwalk. There is free information provided inside. A good sunny afternoon trip!

Nice place to visit. We came during the lockdown and there was no one around. Definitely a nice get away from the city as long as you stay in your car to experience it.

When you see the Station without railway, caboose without crew, train tracks to nowhere, lifeboat beached on the ground, hauling tug stopped in motion, propeller taking sunbathe and soundless bell. You are in right place. Imagine all the trouble to put this together, for posterity, appreciation and education. Artifacts, bits and pieces of thriving community when use to be called "Chicago of the North". Worth the effort.

It is a place where you see different way how they operated in that time period and what they use. Very interesting, I would recommend to any one, even if you are not a marine or rail person, it is a very educational.

In a beautiful setting beside Owen Sound Harbour with paved pathways and lots of green space, there is lots of local info and the tourism kiosk is right there in the railway station.
