I've been going to Mario's since I moved to Mississauga 4 years ago and I've never had any issues. The staff have always been friendly there and I've never had a bad experience. The food and the portions have always been great. Based on what I read from one of the customers negative reviews I also have to agree with Raulino Moniz. Since COVID, businesses especially small family run ones, have been struggling and they went through a hard time as did everyone else. You have no idea what kind of day that person is having or what they're going through personally. A little compassion and understanding will get you a long way. First off if this was for your Engagement Party I would have definitely picked up the phone to confirm especially after the back and forth emails. We are too comfy behind a screen these days. Emails and texts can get lost and misunderstood. Always better to call or go in person when its for a special event. They are human, I'm sure we've all missed an email or two and have made mistakes. Communication is key for everyone involved. Also, golden rule - treat others the way you would want to be treated. I don't understand why people have to destroy a business name that's been around for over 30 years because of a communication error. Clearly they're doing something right given all the 5 star reviews.

I've been there many times. It was usually very good. However, the last couple of times I went (not long after dinner hour), the chicken was dry and overcooked. And the sauce/marinade wasn't properly mixed together, so I got bits and pieces of different flavours at the same time, not mixed together. Awful. This is a shame, since I really liked the food previous times I went.

This place is terrible. They sneak a $2.00 carving fee for cutting the chicken that every other Portuguese restaurant does at no cost. The fact they don’t tell you about it when they ring it up is shady!

And the food was not so great, very oily—heavy on the olive oil—you will be heading to the bathroom in a couple of hours.

Never going to this place again. One and done!

Mario's the place to be. When you are hungry and need the good taste of BBQ CHICKEN AND RICE AND POTATO BALLS. VERY HOOD SERVICE.

We got a half chicken dinner with two sides (potatoes and rice) for 15$. The portions were huge, definitely enough for me tor 2 meals. The chicken was juicy and flavourful and both sides were delicious. Definitely would come back for lunch. They also sell their sauce in a bottle.

I placed a large order for a party and it was a great experience from start to finish. Gentleman at the counter took our order explain tray sizes and answered all my questions. He was very polite, professional and knew the business. We have a similar Portuguese chicken restaurant near our home but we would rather travel to Mario’s in mississauga. The food was so fresh, chicken was juicy and NOT dry. Potatoes were cooked and so soft not raw like some other places. Fish filet is my favourite so we always order it. My husband always orders chicken from here on a Sunday afternoon, but this is the first time we ordered for a large party. Highly recommend this place.

Marios' BBQ we've been a customer for over9 years, and they never disappoints. Today we ordered the small seafood platter & a small rice for a Team lunch, it was tasty, a great mix of seafood, it was incredible

Cheap people with the sauce.they want you to buy their bottle because they dont want to include in a family meal more than 1 2 0z containers.

I placed an order for an office luncheon and the food was very delicious. I ordered rice, potatoes, chicken and vegetarian lasagna for 60 people. The food was a big hit and the vegetarians and meat eaters as well kept raving about the food but especially the Lasagna, said it's they best they had. I wish I had ordered more, maybe next time. I ordered a Greek salad too but there was a mixup and it wasn't punched in with the other food. No one was angry not having salad to eat so we let it go. Service was fantastic, we received help with setup from the guy that delivered the food. There was a lot of left overs, enough to take home and to have the next day for lunch. Thank you Mario's BBQ, my office luncheon was a success. I forgot to take photos, everyone was hungry and ready to eat.

Great for take-out food, but the sitting area is small.
Reasonable prices, great for a big family gathering or family picnic.

I can’t comment on the food as I did not get a chance to order. The staff was extremely rude and there was a young man who was sarcastic and condescending. I just left after having to deal with him.

2nd time at this location, first time had chicken and potatoes with Greek salad which was pretty good…. 2nd time back had fish fillets and Greek salad. Quiet disappointment with their salad as both times had no BLACK OLIVES… which makes the salad what it is. Also wasn’t a huge fan of no lettuce and very little feta. Huge downfall on the Greek salad for sure.

Not sure who the lady at the front is… older woman with glasses. Possible owner? ! Gosh the rude attitude she gives people is just gross. She needs to be seen and not heard, absolutely disgusting customer service to her customers as well as the young employed men there.

Food never disappoints but the prison warden that runs the show seems like she needs to retire. She was a tyrant with the way I saw her treat her staff or family or whoever it was working with her. I actually noticed and felt bad for the employee.

I’ve been eating here ever since I was a kid. The best chicken in the city. Especially this location. Amazing family runs it. You can’t go wrong with the half chicken dinner. Same quality for over 25 years. When I was younger they would stuff these containers. And you still get a great portion now. Thanks guys. I’m glad to be have moved back home and and have you guys serve me great food.

Excellent food at this location. Chicken with sauce (always order extra), roasted vegetables (the best) and rice is what we always order. Potatoes are mediocre. Need to go to store since system to preorder is not good

Come on an empty stomach if you're hungry this is the place to come.portions are just Perfect.friendly staff.recommend the cold squid.as a Finger food appetizer then go for the chicken halves rice and potatoes

Wow, I can’t believe to eat Portuguese food. These days is a complete rip off what happened to bang for your buck when it came to purchasing Portuguese food sorry but never again not at this price. Paid $17 for a small grilled squid and a pop. Not even a complete meal no sides.

Worst experience of my life customer service is really bad very rude behavior had to wait so long for food and food is average

Used to buy chicken all the time, past 4 times I got sauce all over my chicken after I specified NO SAUCE! Chicken was OLD and dried up at noon! Salad was also a yesterday leftover. Last time, gave 4 chances same thing

Ordered from Uber Eats.everything was wet! The roasted vegetables were cold, (because it comes like that,) but they were the best part of the meal. The chicken was just okay, but the ribs were absolutely awful! (The ribs tasted like old rancid meat and were left uneaten by everyone! I highly recommend that you don't buy these!) Their PiriPiri sauce was also not good, or worth the price! They used to have a dine-in location, but since they've moved to this take-out location the quality has rocketed downward!

Hadn't been here since it was Zita's back in the day. Had a ½ chicken dinner with veggies and some olives. Oh my goodness, what an experience! The staff was so helpful and welcoming. The chicken was so fresh and tasty. Had a perfect char on it too. I can't recommend this place enough. Wow
