Good place to grab a small bite or coffee before your flight, just wish there was more; considering domestic flights have a lounge it's unfortunate that international flights only have this option. Nevertheless you can still grab sandwiches and such here
Beware! Dangerous food…fruit looked like it was cut up at least week ago, slimy and disgusting…eggs tasted like rubber and avocado toast was sour …if you don’t want to get sick don’t eat there please! I would rated negative stars!
This is hands down the worst store I’ve been to at an airport. The staff is outrageously inefficient and incompetent, it took them 20 minutes to take orders from 5 people that were mostly the basic stuff (water, coffee, pastries etc.). If you still want to enjoy your trip, eat somewhere beforehand and just bring a water bottle
Servers are good but the menu is much too pricey for the quality of food one gets. My really awful burger should have been around $5 but they charged over $15. A pint of Keith as nearly $13 plus tax and tip.
I gave a star because it’s really not fault of the servers that their menu is way overpriced.
A restaurant so bad that I have sworn off Porter as an airline so I'm not stuck eating there. Out of 4 experiences: 1. They gave my meal to someone else, and by the time they re-made it I had to leave it behind to catch my flight. 2. The server confirmed my order twice, then gave me the wrong thing anyway. The only thing on the menu I'm allergic to, actually. 3. I tried the grab&go counter: The prices are tucked by the cash so you can't read them until you're at the head of the line. The line moves very slowly and half of the items don't even have prices posted. 4. Tried to use the $8 "breakfast voucher" I was given for my cancelled flight. It doesn't cover anything on the breakfast menu. I tried to use it for a sandwich but they were out. I asked for a bottle of water but it's not actually a voucher, it's a coupon: you need to buy something bigger and they'll discount it, but you can't use it to cover the whole bill.
Avocado toast was toasted sourdough with a premade guacamole spread and microwaved scrambled eggs on the side. Paper plates and wood cutlery made cutting the toast near impossible - not the end of the world but annoying.
I wouldn't recommend this lol what a shame that this is the only place. Fill up with snacks and energy drinks at the convenience store instead.
I asked for iced coffee and the lady kept acting like she doesnt know what im talking about. After 5 times back and forth she asks if i mean an iced americano? Like ok? It ended up tasting bad anyway
I also got the food and its CRIMINAL. Paid near $20 for. THIS. 3 pieces of frozen reheated chicken, a tiny bit of arugula and a bit of plum sauce. Criminallll never eat here
The staff is very rude. I got a croissant and asked them to warm it up, I mentioned thrice to only warm it up a little bit and even after waiting to eat it burned me down. The cashier didn’t speak proper English and was very rude while talking. This is the only spot to ewt and should be replaced with a new brand.
This is NOT a quick bite before your flight kind of place. The food takes 20+ minutes to come out, so if you're hoping to sneak one in before you board you are better off bringing food through security. However. I was VERY surprised when the food finally came out. -Junction Flatbread was great. The flavors balanced well, it looked appealing, and the crust had just enough crunch but no burn. -416 Burger was your normal bar food kind of burger. Nothing overly exciting, but a solid meal. Lettuce, tomato, onion were light. It was mainly burger cheese and bun. But cooked well and the cheese was still melty (not gross and cold). It comes with chips (not fries, actually chips). Cost was about what you expect from airport food ($34 CAD for the burger and the Flatbread).
I usually try a local draft beer at every restaurant I go to, but I watched the server fill someone else's. There is a TON of extra foam coming out of the draft (that the servers pour off and then refill). That is a red flag for me. Ton of foam = flat beer.
Overall, the food was great. It is a good spot if you have a long wait before your flight. Otherwise, they sell baked goods (muffins, breads, etc) and coffee/tea that can be grabbed on the go.
Servers are polite, but it seems like they only had 1 guy to take orders, run drinks/food, clear tables, and close bills. I saw a lot of customers grabbing menus from other tables. Even saw one guy have to grab the water he asked for because the server set it down mid-task.
Honestly the worst airport food over ever had. Not to mention they don't even open their kitchen until 13: 30 (1: 30pm). Billy Bishop needs to wake up and get new food vendors.
We were flying out early in the morning on Sunday so we grabbed coffee and 2 croissants. The cashier was friendly when taking out orders. The coffee and food came out fast (not that there should have been a wait). They have multiple milk options for various dietary restrictions which is always nice!
Only down side was the line can be a bit long. The prices seemed reasonable given the location.
$16 for the picture attached. Very understaffed I didn't get served until I walked up and placed an order at the counter. Very slow and a blatant rip-off
The absolute worst service and quality of food. Items on menu is not what is delivered. Avocado toast with “smashed” avocado, option of egg on sourdough bread. Words cannot describe what was served. Manager came and and argued that there is “an avocado on the toast”. Billy bishop airport should certainly reconsider this agreement. This is the worst excuse for an avocado toast; or, frankly, a breakfast in general.
Ok food and coffee selection but service is so slow it’s frustrating. Single staffed during rush hours and busy mornings…not worth waiting 20 min for a coffee really.
“Do you have any hot breakfast items? ” “Not til 8, I can heat up that chocolate milk for you though! ”
What? Actually? I would order a hot chocolate but thanks anyways.
“Are the bakery items fresh? ” “The sandwiches are made every 2 days, super fresh! ”
No. Super fresh = seeing it made in front of me. Fresh = made every few hours. Kind of fresh = you’re about to close and these are the sandwiches made earlier today. Old = 2 day old soggy sandwich that has sat in an open display fridge and not even inside something with a closing door until I was desperate enough to eat it.
Service is painfully slow, in the mornings the line for a coffee takes 20-30 mins. Just for drip coffee / nothing fancy. The layout of the service area and the lineup area need total overhaul
Not a good place. People are waiting 20-25 minutes for a cup of coffee. They used to offer espressos for free at this airport. Now you have to wait half an hour for a drip coffee mud. Not worth a 5 minute wait
20 minute wait from disinterested staff for a $20 sandwich that looks like it came from a horror movie hospital cafeteria. Do yourself a favour - starve a little.
The bartender annoyed me no end. He nicely confirmed every order, then 30 seconds later asked again. Every time, for drinks or food, usually suggesting something different than we'd just told him. Apparently he was new to this, as he didn't realize a tapped keg wasn't tied to a single bar tap.
Food was so-so. I ordered a burger, and it came out very well done, which I now know is typical for Canada. I'd had an earlier experience at another restaurant where I considered some elk, but was told it had to be cooked well. I assumed that was to avoid gaminess, but was apparently wrong. My wife got a salad, which was fine.
The plus is that we had a place to spend our 3.5 hour layover, and had outlets to charge our phones.
1 star is too generous. Completely unorganized. Stood in line for 10 minutes, then was told I had to sit down to order. Then it took about 10 minutes for a server to come over. For a flatbread, it was going to take 15 minutes. Tried standing in another line to get a ready made sandwich. Had to bail. Plan ahead if you want any food at Billy Bishop Airport. A simple sign telling customers to take a seat before they can place their order would help tremendously. The staff and customers were all frustrated. Some leadership and better processes would be very helpful.
No other options so why provide decent service I sat for almost an hour trying to flag down a server to order a beer until I finally moved closer to the bar. The staff have zero personality and the prices are ridiculous even by airport standards
I ordered flatbread pizza, which had no sauce, only slices of tomato and cheese. There was no basil on the pizza (though it was in the menu description). Half my flatbread was missing both cheese and tomato (so it was just toasted flatbread).
Unfortunately there is no other hot food option here.
It is the worst burger I have ever had! The server’s attitude was so bad. The bread is hard like rock. Would not recommend having food there if u are not in a rush
I think there’s a consensus between most of the reviewers, eat at home if heading to this airport.
Unfortunately it’s the only restaurants in the US connections lounge.
Grabbed a “Turkey Garden“ sandwich from the To-Go fridge. There’s no pricing but I thought it would be around $6-$8. Got to the cash and was shocked to see it $12+tx.
The bread was soggy, barely 2 slices of Turkey, the garlic aioli was flavourless, and the cucumber wasn’t crunchy.
It’s too bad there are no other food options. At least the view is nice. Let’s say the 1 star is for the view…and because we can’t give a 0 star review
