Markham Convention Centre

This facility is amazing and took care of everything we needed. The hall is very beautiful and royal. It has two big banquet style halls and both are amazing. I would highly recommend this hall to anyone who is looking for a wedding hall or for any special occasion.

Food was good. The place just fabulous for taking pics. Especially the stairs. Nice for Red Carpet affairs.

Attended the wedding ceremony of my nephew Sean Davids at this location. The location had plenty of parking, well lit, with security personnel. The hall itself was beautifully decorated. The bar was well stocked and drinks were served all evening. The appetizers, the main entrees, and the the after dinner coffee, and sweet snacks were delicious and overflowing. Well dressed, and polite staff. The overall experience was great, however the only negative was at 1 am, security showed up and stopped d.j from playing anymore music. The crowds dancing and sitting in hall were informed they had to vacate premises immediately as staff had to clean up and go home, and management could not pay them overtime, which considering the circumstances, was a reasonable request.
If you are considering renting a hall for a wedding or other special occasion, I highly recommend this location.

Venue is beautiful and spacious. It can be difficult to find it from the road cause of the construction happening but it has appropriate parking and looks decent.

We had our event at Markham Convention Centre on May 28. Everything during the event went well. Prior to the event the operations manager - Sorilla Ulfat was helpful. However it was extremely difficult to get a hold of Sunil Lakhani (General Manager) anytime we called or had an appointment. After the initial booking Sunil did not bother to return any call or message to us unless we called from an unknown number.

The post event experience has been extremely negative. During our booking process Sunil confirmed that any leftover food will be packed up to be sent home with us and so we provided food trays accordingly. We paid for 180 adults but only about 155 including kids showed up. We chose the International Buffet and paid $70 per adult (and any kid above age 5). At the end of the night there was A LOT OF food (pasta, rice, chicken, beef, salad, potatoes) left in the trays but all that was packed for us were potatoes and salad. Multiple guests saw the staff loading up heaps of food for themselves including staff helping at the event in the next hall and the guests let us know after the event.

What is really amusing is that at the end of the event, we personally looked out for Sorilla to thank her for the evening and my wife asked her then if the food had been packed up. She confirmed “everything packed and provided already”. Quite interesting that everything means salad and potatoes.

We understand that the venue staff has to eat, but that should have been done separately from the kitchen and not from our paid guest count. Also not sure why staff from the adjacent event halls took the food we were supposed to be bringing back home.

We emailed Sunil and Sorilla about it first on June 5 to notify about the situation and there was no response so we sent another email on June 11 to express our disappointment. Sorilla then contacted us and she said that she has notified Sunil of the situation and to make amends she said she will pack up food for 8 people in the international menu for us to bring back home on June 23 (again, nowhere close to how much food was left in the trays after dinner).

Afternoon of June 23, I called her to confirm timing for food pickup and she said the event menu changed to vegetarian entirely so they would not have the international food cooked that day but to instead come at 8pm on June 24 and she would have it ready.

My wife showed up at 8pm today (June 24) and she says “you were supposed to come yesterday not today we don’t have the food today”. My
wife told her per her phone conversation with me she said 23rd became vegetarian and for us to come on 24. She DENIES HAVING ANY CONVERSATION WITH ME and we have phone records. My wife connected me on the phone with her and Sorilla then says “I can give you Indian food thats all I can do”. We decided not to take any food and my wife left.

Here is the thing - we are not looking for free food from you. What we expected was for you take accountability and responsibility of what happened and to stay true to your words and not blatantly LIE to our faces.

This is how you go from turning a happy customer to an extremely unhappy customer. You asked for a review at the end of the event, and we held on from posting anything negative all this time.

We got married at this beautiful venue. Our experience from the booking all the way to the wedding day was exceptional. The staff are passionate, and caring and will ensure you feel at ease. Sorilla went above and beyond to ensure our families felt at ease throughout the entire process.

Mid size Banquet Hall. Convenient location in Scarborough witj access from 401 & 407. Big parking area.

Excellent place to host your events. Nice and clean. Some other we saw were nasty and dirty. Definitely would recommend this place. Very helpful staff.

Probably the worst service I've experienced for a venue. Imagine paying 30K plus and getting short staff and the staff that was working pouring drinks while on their phones. Then having the lighting dude disappear half the event, even after charging extra for it? Definitely taking all future events to Scarborough convention

I had my two day wedding celebrations here in October of 2021 and the venue and staff, especially Sunil were exceptional. They really went above and beyond for me and my family and worked well with all my vendors. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for my future events.

Had my sisters henna night and everything was amazing! The staff and service was amazing! The manager Sorilla was great the food was delicious.

It is basically a royal style banquet hall. Extremely beautiful inside. Depending on number of people to attend any function, they split the hall with a removable wall from floor to the top. Very lavish style of decoration. Ceiling covered with huge chandeliers and gorgious designs and patterns on the ceiling and walls. The service is exceptional and very impressive. There is plenty of parking spaces.

Very spacious and grand looking venue. Space and food was good. The managers were nice and accommodating too. They upheld our contract that we signed before Covid and we were finally able to use it 2 years later.

Would definitely recommend!

Overall a good experience. The bathrooms could be cleaner and should be cleaned more often, given the amount of people using them during events.

Venue is looks amazing and staff are friendly but the manager sunil is horrible to work with. He spoke to us in a derogatory manner and had no respect for the fact that a wedding is a once in a lifetime event. Rushed our photography session and spoke to us rudely.

The owner of the establishment is the most sarcastic and rude person I have come across. Extremely unprofessional, didn’t exhibit any form of cordiality nor customer service experience. I am very unhappy with the impression he left during our visit. I’d leave a zero star but I can’t.

Manager is not polite what so ever. The whole time he made it feel like we were wasting his time. When asking questions his responses were sarcastic and bluntly rude. On top of that The hall isn’t the nicest, gives me old school casino vibes.but some of the imperfections we could’ve over looked if the manager was being nice, helpful and tried to sell us on the place. It seemed like he didn’t care about our business, and went on to say who’s going to pay for his 10million dollar debt. Would not recommend consulting with this place, not to mention the place is average, possibly below.

Would not recommend this Hall at all. The owner/manager was extremely rude and sarcastic. He often made comments about increasing our prices and had our backs to us when he said bye. The hall itself is straight out of my nightmares. The lights were flickering on and off. Dark shade of carpet with ugly urine coloured walls and a dark brown red coloured wood that looks like it was scraped off an old murder scene. The ceiling was nice though.

Very spacious banquet hall. There are 4 sections A, B, C, D. Each section can accommodate around 200 guests. They have a open section for food. Overall great banquet hall.

Nice place. I attended a few events here, and it seems it's well managed, and the staff is exceptionally trained and helpful—overall good experience.

An average quality banquet hall. Lobby was freezing cold and drawers in washrooms blew cold air.

Celebrated my daughter’s Sangeet here. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating. The food was exceptional both in taste and presentation. Gary went above and beyond to make sure our event ran smoothly. Thank you so much!

There was virtually no sound separation between the two halls inside. I was there for a wedding reception but had trouble hearing the talks due to music playing next door. For a grand venue as such, this is rather poor designing.

I booked MCC for my wedding and could not have asked for better management and venue. Danny was extremely helpful and accommodating and made sure that our big night went off without a snag. He is very responsive on phone, email and was always available to meet me. The MCC is conveniently located so that guests out of town had no issues getting there (despite a big snow strom that day!). The venue itself is classy and left nothing to be desired. Danny and his management gets 6 stars! Would defeinitely get married there again Lol.

Given the current circumstances facing our world at the moment, the managers, Sunil and Garry and the staff at MCC made sure our #covidwedding was nothing short of perfect! From the moment we sent our inquiry, everything was prompt and professional. We cannot thank Sunil enough for doing the most to accommodate us to the best of his ability given all the COVID-19 measures he had to ensure were followed. My husband and I cannot thank MCC enough for ensuring the health and safety of our guests was top priority. The cleanliness of the venue was inmaculate, there were more than enough sanitizer stations set up and every staff member and guest wore masks. Sunil referred to us to audio visual techs, Riz and Jav and Jeya from Apex Banquet Service for our decor. All were available to meet us in a timely manner and over exceeded our expectations. Our decor was still beautiful even with chairs and tables being spaced out to abide by social distancing rules. Everything looked and sounded great! The vendors gave their honest opinions and suggestions in order to achieve the looks and sounds we wanted and best of all ensured we stayed within our budget.

The day of the wedding I was treated like a queen by all staff from the minute I walked in to get ready. Everyone checked in on me to ensure everything was to my liking. The food was on point and delicious! Garry came up to me and told me to enjoy my day he would take care of everything. Anytime my glass or plate was empty the staff was right there asking if I needed anything else. Best of all the chef packed my husband and I each a fresh dish of what was served to our guests for us to take home.

For a wedding that was planned in three weeks it was truly magical and breath taking! Thank you MCC.

Bunch of uninterested people running this place.unfriendly people with absolutely no sense trying to organize wedding.had a nightmare.

We did our sister’s wedding there and it was a night to remember! The hospitality and care was top notch and the staff made the experience seamless. Special thanks to Sunil for being so accommodating and always ready to help out in any way! Would easily come back to do another event!

Worst experience ever! I don’t recommend this place to anyone the venue and the staff was not accommodating lots of delay the food was rushed service was bad, the owner had an attitude problem did not help us to answer and questions we had! The worst experience ever! The washroom was dirty smelled like pee had to request hand sanitizer nothing was set up for us before hand until we asked never again!

We had our son's Mehndi/Masti/ Masala event on October 30,2019 at the Markham Convention Centre. Excellent food and atmosphere. The staff was very attentive, polite, friendly and went above and beyond. The event was amazing from start, during, and finish. Garry is truly a genuine and a caring host. It was a pleasure to work with him. Thank you MCC staff and Garry for making our event so successful. Would definitely recommend this place.

I had my wedding reception at Markham Convention Centre this past May 2019. Danny and his team were very accommodating and their service standard is very high. Danny went above and beyond our expectations. I highly recommend checking out this venue for your next big event.

A nice place to host your events in East end of Toronto. Danny being very helpful from start to end. He helped us in selection of menu. Food was tasty and plenty. Service was excellent. I will definitely recommend this place for your future events.

On Markham Road just slighty north of highway 401. Spacious and equipped to have a gathering of around 300 people. Ample amount of parking spaces. Seems well maintained so far.

The experience was great, we had a christmas party on december 15 and I thoroughly enjoyed the music with DJ MixMaster. I highly recommend this place for party:)

STOP SEARCHING! You have landed upon your spot! Markham Convention Centre is the home to your next event! My husband and I could have not chosen any better venue. Starting from day one meeting with Danny. We felt like this was it. We had no reason to look further. Great accomdating staff, even to small last minute changes. They are professionals in every sense. We are forever grateful for all that you have done to make our day the most magical.

This was our second event with Markham convention center, and both times the experience was fantastic. Both the events were 5 star, and Mr. Garry personally took care of the event himself ensuring all was well.

Will definately recommend this place for future events.

This venue is unsafe. Lack of security which opens up for the possibility of thefts. I have been to two events in the past month and each bridal party have had their belongings and jewelery stolen from the "safe room" upstairs beside the office room. Beware of your belongings.

Sound proofing is real bad. There were 2 weddings taking place. The music from the other hall could be heard while speech was being given.
Don't want to complain about catering as the refill was done slowly and not sufficient.

Not sound proof. There was a wild party going on in the next partition and the deafening sound spoiled our wedding ceremony.

We had Markham Convention Centre cater for our wedding at Mississauga Convention Centre. Danny was pivotal in ensuring a flawless transition from appetizers to dinner. The food was punctual and absolutely delicious. Not a single complaint, only compliments. His many years of experience in this industry helped guide our selection and also allowed for amazing collaboration with our banquet hall's team. Highly recommend and will definitely be using their services again. Thank you so much!

It's a great venue for small to medium size events. Not too big unless you wanna get more than one ballroom. Their ballrooms are nice and cozy, and the interior is bright and modern. My friend's weddings was a blast!

I attended a wedding there, I also attended a bridal show at MARKHAM CONVENTION CENTRE. Its such a sophisticated and elegant environment. Spacious as well

Beautiful interior finishes but catered food sucked no fault of hall. Bar service was terrible. Wait staff was excellent.

I had my event on Sunday May 05,2019 and let me say this, thee best business dealing experience for me. Dani is amazing but Gary blow it out of the water, I was running a bit late with my decor setting up and Gary got his staff to help me.he made sure my event was amazing and made sure everything I needed was done. They treated me like family and made my guests very comfortable.

My wife & I, celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary at the Markham Convention Centre on May 11,2019. Great venue, awesome ambience and terrific hospitality.

I take this opportunity to mention a few words on Danesh Irani who helped us make our event a pleasant remembrance. He booked our event months in advance, gave us contacts of different people like DJ, Lights, Dancers, etc and then help us select the right menu for food items that made our function the BEST we have ever seen or done in our life!

Words can’t express our feeling.food was awesome, staff were pleasant & nice and super hospitality from Danesh & Garry just floored us.

Went to a birthday party event was very good super tasty food and the manager Gary was great making sure everything was okay.

Great venue, with beautiful fixtures and decor. Food was great as well. Only reason not 5 star is because we were rushed out of venue because of an event later in the evening.

It has been an amazing weeding reception at Markham Convention Centre. Danny and Garry has taken care of everything to make the event mind blowing. They have taken care of all the clients need and done a fantastic job. They have mind blowing staff such as Ash on floor who has executed the event properly and made us to relax and enjoy the event. He went beyond to help us and make our weeding memorable. They had superior taste in terms of food. Thanks to everyone to make the event memorable.

A good place for a conference. Did not enjoy the extra chairs they put in to accomodate numbers as they were just black, plastic folding chairs that were narrow and hard. Also, the air conditioning was either not on at all, or not strong enough to handle the number of people in the room. Everyone was hot! The regular chairs were good, just wish I had one the second day. The washrooms were very nice but not huge, and the foyer was large and airy; great for the vendors set up there. >^. ^<
