Marlwood Golf & Country Club

Today was my second time playing here. Although we had a women's league ahead of us, they soon left us and stayed well ahead. Fairways and greens are in great condition. Most tee decks were in good condition but some needed some repair. Staff was friendly price was good, weather was great, all in all a very nice day.

We've been there for a few great events and would feel very comfortable using it for our own needs as well.

Staff were great. Course in good condition even with all the rain. Just don't order their hotdogs, bun was dry and Weiner was small.

It's actually a nice track, I always thought it was short but its actually not bad and fun to play.

This beautiful golf course is perfect to play 18 rounds of fun with friends. I went to Marlwood last week and it was a great course.

Great course and very well kept! Played early morning in August of 2022. Staff very polite. Greens were fast and in excellent condition.

Had first tee time of the day for a solo round 7: 04am. Called twice to confirm I was able to go solo and was told it wasn’t a problem. I was the first one there and waited for the marshal who wasn’t even there on time. Once he got there and started getting everything going he sent his buddy on the course by himself before me even though my tee time was before him and I had been there waiting since 6: 30am. At the time I didn’t mind till he tells me I’m to be paired with a group of 3 at 7: 12. I had told him I was promised I’d be able to go solo because I had a time restrictions and wanted to get a quick 18 solo round. He didn’t care and said I had no other choice. I can understand if they were busy but it wasn’t. Clearly this marshal was just catering to his buddies and doesn’t care about other peoples schedules.

The course is nice and well maintained for being a public course. The layout is decent and challenging. Would be a fantastic course and experience except for one huge issue, the scheduling. I wouldn’t trust the staff here to be selling tickets for a youth soccer game let alone scheduling a day of golf. The time between tee times is 8 minutes which is fantastic, but they don’t enforce it nor do they put thought into scheduling. We had a tee time with no one behind us for a good while according to the schedule, but the people behind us showed up way early and were allowed to go immediately. This then caused us (group of 4) to have a group of 3 behind us, and group of 2 behind them. This is not the first time this has happened at the course either, we’ve played here twice and it’s happened both times. The people behind us were very impatient both times which made the game unenjoyable and honestly unsafe. Nothing better than going to hit your ball and a ball comes rolling beside you from the group behind you. Reading other reviews, this seems to be the norm at this course. Sad.

This course is in very good shape considering the lack of rain, challenging and long enough to rest your golfing skills

The pace of play was atrocious. Conditioning of the course, other than the greens which were well maintained, if spectacularly slow, was atrocious and the layout was goofy. On Hole 8 there are 100 foot trees 75 yards in front of the tee. Apparently the play off the tee is a wedge to the left. So many other better options nearby. We won’t be back.

My In-laws living in the area. I can see the golf club from the balcony. We golf a lot during the summer. Beautiful place and is very clean and not crowded. A haven during the winter season not to mention it's closer to the blue mountain where walking at night is a bliss and gives you that winter wonderland experience!

Ok local course. Prices too high for the caliber of play, trying to recoup losses from pandemic? ! Hoping they realign pricing next season.

Sandy, Alex and the staff at Marlwood were incredible. We can’t sing their praises enough. We recently got married at Marlwood and received outstanding positive feedback from all our guests. The staff and food were amazing! The staff took extra care and responded quickly to guest requests, even making sure Grandma got her meal first so she didn’t feel rushed while eating. The steak and mashed potatoes are to die for. Sandy treated us like family, was so helpful and available all the time. She had fantastic suggestions to make our day even more special. She made sure everything went flawlessly and looked just how we envisioned it! We can’t thank Marlwood enough, we will never forget how perfect our day was!

Embarrassing how poorly it’s run though. Can make for a frustrating experience.

Showed up on time with 9/12 guys. One of the 3 that didn't show broke his arm carrying a deer up a hill. They made us pay anyway. No problem. Get to kart. The " general" as other staff described her says if we have booze in bags we will be banned. Good morning to you too. The best part. She's like it's a 6 hour round today - because they tee off every 4 mins. Just a money grab. We finished in honour of the deer victim. RIP.

Great bang for your buck. A couple of tricky holes. Otherwise, nice open fairways and not overly challenging

Beautiful place. Food was great, very clean and very nice staff. We loved the presentation and it was wonderful. The only improvement is to stock some fancier alcohols for cocktails such as sour mix, amaretto, gins, and liqueurs. Other than that great! Swans in the pond / lake were a beautiful touch

My Son and Daughter in law were married here in August and if was so beautiful! The location was beautiful the wedding was amazing. I'm so glad they chose this place they served us with excellence. The set up was gorgeous and the venue inside was equally gorgeous. We were all treated so well I highly recommend this venue.

Marlwood is pretty good for the price. The proximity to houses in the subdivision can make it nerve-wracking for less experienced players, but it is pretty well maintained and staff are generally pretty nice. Would be nice to have a map of the course layout for newcomers as some holes are almost impossible to predict. Specifically hole 3 as it dog-legs waaaay left behind the trees. Again can't really complain for the price though.

Terrible service, had a group of 11, they charged us for 12. Course was so backed up because they overbooked the day. What was a 3.5hr course took us 5 because of the delays in front, food was decent.

Great price for the course. Greens were excellent. Tee blocks are in need of repair. Friendly service from the clubhouse staff.

Course was good but rate of play was terrible. Finished a hole and was walking off the green. Had 1 group teeing off in front, another waiting for them in front of me. Another group teeing off on the hole I was walking away from and a group behind them waiting to tee off.

Great place to golf. Always a good time, wait lines currently a bit messy and communication is a little lax when waiting for cart

If you love scenic landscapes and really nice crews, Marlwood has to be on your list of courses. Absolute beauty.

Great course with fairways and greens in good condition. Difficult to track course as scorecards and hole markers did not have pics.

Bien entretenu, allées, Greens et herbes plus longues. Layout bizarre sur plusieurs trous. Aucun banc sur le parcours. Vaut le prix demandé

You get what you pay for.
Course itself wasn't horrifying but it's groomed horribly by what appears to be volunteers.
Staff is aloof and will let you tee off only after the locals go first.
It's also very short.
If you're an outsider of the Marlwood community, they wont go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Few other minor gripes I won't go into.
Won't go back. Seems like a local clique.

Great little course. It's short but plays longer as your forced to use a 9 iron from the tees on some holes. In my opinion it's a little gem, I'm traditionally a 7000 yard course person (linx style) but this is a nice change and really makes you manage the course and use those Irons. The course is well manicured except for the tee boxes, there as uneven as can be. Well for the most part. But honestly, for the price and what you get I'm more than ok with that. I'd give it a 4.1 star for sure. The staff is also very nice.

Not fun today, huge back-log of tee-times. Asked the manager for a rain-check after waiting 40 minutes at 1st tee-off. She pulled a Donald Trump move on us, totally deflected the problem and said everything was fine, that the marshall was going out to get things moving along. After waiting 15-20 min at every tee off, we finally gave up after 4 holes and 2 hours later. Asked the Starter fellow on the way out if it's normally like this, or 'just not our day'. He said it's been like that all summer long. Well they got our $ and my impatience today I guess, what a waste of an afternoon.

Played here with 2 foursomes, and had a great time! Amazing course located in the Wasaga area. Pace of play was good as we finished in just under 4 hours. Will be back next year!

Well kept, greens were perfect, fairways green and smooth. Only “complaint” is that the yardage is off as compared to Garmin golf watch

Nice course, need to put more space between groups or explain to people the "play-through" rule. Overall was a good day.

Well enough course but really would have liked map of any form for the holes.even a picture on a sign would have been great.a good day and some great holes but really really need to get some signage going guys. Even if just on the score card to see which way it goes from tee. There was NO way to tell unless I run up the fairway on numerous holes haha. Fix for 5 stars thanks for a clean course though!

Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. Only thing I didn't like was there is no maps of the course on your score card or by the Tee. I enjoyed my round though. Nice sights on course.

Great golf course, conditions were good. Probably better now that its later on, plays harder than it looks. Good challenge for the average golfer for sure.

Beautiful golf course and Country Club. Friendly staff and great service! The course is 18 holes and is challenging to all levels of golfers. Very walkable course which I love.

Great shorter course with fantastic prices. It's not going to be the best course you've played, but I keep coming back as it requires you to use every club in the bag and the vibe is awesome. Great relaxed atmosphere for people new to golf.

The pita was excellent but the girl behind the counter had very little personality and no smile at all, she looked very miserable

Great venue for all kinds of events, whether it's a business meeting or a wedding. Marlwood can take care of it all!

Beautiful course and i just loved the staff they where so nice and did give us some of our
money back when asked because at the 15 hole it started to rain but besides the weather we had a great day

I really like this course. Im not to great and its a little easier then other ones around in the area, just watch out for houses ;)

Decent hold for a fair price but not very challenging. Will look and play better when construction is complete.
