This hotel is next to Eaton Center so a perfect location. We stayed here for one night in December to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff was gracious to have a great welcoming dessert for her birthday.thanks for everything
I think this is the nicest Marriott we have stayed in. The location is great and we had a corner room which was a bonus. All of the people working there were very friendly and seemed genuinely concerned that we were enjoying our stay. We ordered breakfast in the restaurant both days we were there - it was excellent.
I have never met a more rude person in my life who works for hospitality until coming across a front desk worker named Carlos. This hotel while location wise is perfect, needs a lot of work done when it comes to customer service. On top of that, my room flooded and it broke my laptop and instead of making it right or even offerent any type of comp, they questioned me as if I was lying about my laptop being in that area of the room that flooded from their AC breaking.
Again, starts from the top. Stay at this hotel if you wish, but avoid Carlos and hope the room doesnt flood.
Terrible experience.planned 6 months in advanced.my room wasnt even ready.managers were rude, not only to me but to other guests.i witnessed all hell break loose in the lobby when the supervisor carlos made expletive comments about another mans wife.location is convenient, its even a fairly clean hotel.but the service, the stay, and the experience were absolute 0s.never staying here again.
I arrived at Marriott Downtown CF Toronto after a medical visit in the city and I have to say everyone took extra special care of my needs and myself. I cannot fault anyone or any part of the stay and I was incredibly impressed with the level of cleaning, social distancing and special measures that Marriott hotels are taking to keep their clients healthy and protected. Kudos @Marriott
The service at this hotel is incredible. The rooms are spacious and clean and the hotel takes Covid protocols very seriously, like checking for vaccination status and requiring sepaprate keys for accessing the swimming pool. I felt comfortable and safe. There are lots of amenities, including a gym, pool, room service, and restaurant.
The location is AMAZING! It is literally next door to the Eaton Centre and central to numerous restaurants. The Dundas subway line is a few minutes walk away as well. You will not be disappointed by staying at this hotel.
The general manager, Jonathan Holiwell, is a person who cares about his guests. He arranged for a delivery of a slice of chocolate cake with a Happy birthday card for our child. This weekend birthday staycation made things that much more special. From check in to check out, this staff is top notch. You will not be disappointed here. Thanks Jonathan and the Marriott crew!
I cannot say enough about this hotel. The rooms are spacious and upgraded, the public space is the same. Beautiful fireplace in the lounge area great for a glass of wine or coffee in the morning. More importantly then all that though is the staff.incredibly friendly, helpful and seem genuinely glad to have you as a guest. I have stayed there several times and it is my go to hotel in Toronto now. The location is ideal as well. Just book it.you will not be disappointed.
Unpretentious hotel with a nice staff. Next to everything in Toronto. Then hotel is due for renovation but still very clean and very organized. I like it
Booked the room for a concert and the concert was rescheduled. They refused to issue a refund or a credit for the room- would’ve stayed here for the new concert date but not anymore! Extremely unimpressed with the lack of customer service provided by such a large hotel chain.
This is the great hotel for holidays. I enjoyed my weekend trip here. Really I feel very relax and happy. Night view is very awesome.great services and very tasty food. Will be returning soon.
Spacious room, very clean and comfortable. Big bathroom with a rain shower which was nice. Room also had a large sectional couch and big TV. Coffee and tea in the room for the morning. Very quiet hotel, nice restaurant as well. We will definitely stay again next time in Toronto.
Frequent stay when working downtown Toronto. Beautiful rooms although the hot water does get finicky depending on time of day and which floor you're situated on.
Stayed at this property for a weekend and enjoyed my stay. Location is great as it is in downtown right next to the city hall. Staff at the front desk and restaurant were awesome. Room that we got was very spacious. The mattress and pillows were also good quality. Glad they had USB ports in the hight stand and large TV. It is an older property and it appears that they are working on the upgrades one at a time. Few negatives were the bathrooms in the common area in the lobby were not well maintained and the quality of the towels didn't meet meet my expectations.
This was my first stay at the marriott and I am beyond disappointed with the customer service. Staff is rude and chased us down the lobby, where they threatened to "kick us out". On tope of that, AC in room was not working. Do not stay here!
Great customer service. Fantastic breakfast. Ana the polish lady at the executive lounge was friendly professional and caring. I love her attitude toward life and customers. A truly happy person.
Great location, check in staff was very friendly. Nice, clean rooms. The housekeeper on our floor cheerfully greeted us upon leaving our room and sent us out with a smile.
Read: Don’t be loured if you are looking for a balcony! When I booked the room I was clearly told to call two days before my stay to request it as this was the way to do so. I did exactly so and was told that the entire hotel only had three rooms with a balcony so…chances were 0 from the get go! The thing is…. They tell you to call 2 days before the stay…at that point it’s too late to cancel your room! It’s clearly a catch 22…. Loure the people in! No fridge in room…. Etc…. NEVER AGAIN!
I noticed bug bite marks on my back after i stayed over the weekend.i’m scared that i might have brought them back to my place! This brings a lot of stress
Stayed for 3 nights, very clean room. Great staff and pool was small but on the 18th floor. Gym was really nice also. Close to everything and parking was 20$ a day for guests. Will definitely be staying here next trip to Toronto!
Excellent customer service, and hotel is equipped with mobile check-in and phone based locks on each room. However, this did not work for my specific room lock - possible low battery? All solved quickly with contactless approach and social distancing. I'd come again
Great hotel. Very clean and great service. Great location, steps from Nathan Phillips Square and many restaurants near by. Will be staying here again in the future!
Having been in 5 hotels as we traversed Canada, this one was by far the cleanest and largest. Hotwiring our room for under $110 was well worth it. Great facilities, amazing shower.
What people have said about the loud doors is true, so if you’re a light sleeper I’d recommend undoing that habit and you’ll be fine. Shouldn’t ya’ll have ear plugs anyway?
Minus two stars: rude customer service and pet fee is outrageous at $40/pet.
Stay was okay. Wasn’t happy. I booked originally the king room with the balcony and when I went to check in they said I didn’t book this room when my reservation fully stated “ with balcony” then I had spoke to a gentleman on the phone prior to checking in a couple hours before to clarify and the nice young man said I did book the balcony suite. Come to find out I met these this couple who stayed at the marriot who had the same situation like myself and didn’t get the room they were supposed to get. I had complained to a female at front desk and she decided to show me an executive suite which made no sense like they wanted to take my money and the suite was way over the price I booked for. The vending machine was not working on my floor I had to keep going downstairs to concierge. The drinks are expensive, a chocolate bar is $6.
Never again, I rather stay at delta or intercontinental where it’s actually worth the money.
Really upset I drove basically an hour to this hotel to not have the room I want. I wouldn’t book here again. This was supposed to be my work stay/leisure and I couldn’t even enjoy the balcony with my laptop to do my work. They didn’t even offer me $ off. Would I come here again? No. Would I recommend anyone? Definitely not.
Had a fantastic stay here last week. Clean facility and rooms, friendly and courteous service. A special shoutout to Bruce at the front. His professionalism and willingness to help are evident in his service. I will definitely be returning soon. Keep up the good work guys!
The room at Marriott was clean and nice. However, they have to many additional charges. For example: $50 for wifi for staying customers and a $40 parking charge also for staying customers. Why when paying for a room to spend the night, you have to pay $40 to park there and $50 for wifi? Not a fan of that, be careful when booking a room to make sure they tell you all charges associated with the room prior to checking in.
Great downtown location. Near City Hall and Eaton Centre. Very nice staff and hotel follows all covid protocols. Rooms are spacious and clean. Free parking available at this time which is a big plus.

The website says
"Pet Policy Pets Welcome Maximum 2 pets per room"
But I was told that I cannot bring my cat, only dogs are allowed. I had my reservation cancelled at the last moment. I didnt know that Pets = Only dogs. Now I have to find another hotel at the last moment. This really sucks.
Had a wonderful stay at Marriott downtown. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was big and clean. Window view was not much to say but the location was great. You can walk to Eaton center or City hall within 5 mins.
I've stayed here few times before while taking a course. The pandemic has certainly scaled things down. What remains constant is their friendly service and clean modern furnished rooms. It was nice to appreciate a room without the pressures of work. They also keep your safety as a priority. I felt safe going in the room and in the lobby. I highly recommend staying here if you need to just escape for a bit and take in some really good hospitality and a great place to stay.
I've stayed here multiple times over years, and have always been pleased & this time was no different. Always clean. The concierge service and local recommendations are great-we asked for a pub & they recommended Joey's an awesome bar with excellent food. The cafe in the Marriott lobby made me a hot chocolate even though it wasn't on the coffee menu.
One of the BEST location if you are a tourist. Just walk out and the biggest Eaton Mall is there, take the side door and you walk into the main street. Drinking water is free in the lobby which is not seen in US hotels.
Great people working there, very helpful and kind. Also super comfortable room. The locator of the hotel is also on par, being walking distance from the Eaton Centre.
This is a rather nice, centrally located hotel. Great access to food and shops as the mall is nearby. Fitness centre and pool round out the amenities. Special floor for guests with status to have breakfast or snacks. My room was a good size and had a couch. The walk from the elevator was a bit long. I would stay here again.
Nice hotel. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Great location. Near Eaton Centre and Nathan Philips Square is just a block away. Union Station is also not that far.
Excellent room, service, and location. But, possible personal information compromise.still worried a bit about my credit card info. They definitely shoud've communicated that better.
Was pleasantly surprised at the room we got especiallg because we booked online and through a 3rd party website. But everything was great! The staff was great! Would definitelh reccomend!
Was here for a conference so had a discounted rate (if you call $220 a night a discount). The fitted sheet had little bleach holes (over 10) and a hair.then they replaced it with another slightly less holey fitted sheet. The heat didn't work the first night.maintenance came up when I called the next day and gladly repaired plus changed the nasty filter. Would NOT pay full price here.
This is my third time staying at the Marriott Downtown for a conference and I always love it. Having been to many conferences at other locations, I can say that the experience here is top notch. The room are great. I had a beautiful view of the old Catholic church next door this time! The TV was upgraded since last year to include apps like Netflix and YouTube, which we loved! We also brought with us a truckload of materials for the conference and the staff was so helpful with unloading and storing them safely for us. Waitstaff at the dinner was exceptional as always and the food was delicious both at our dinner and at the hotel restaurant. The location is great as well. You're right beside the mall and we went over several times to take a break and just explore. The CN tower is even walking distance, as well as one of the huge lit-up Toronto signs, great for a photo op! By one of my favorite event spaces to attend!
Amazing location and great room. My partner is a Platinum Marriott card member so we got a free breakfast buffet since the lounge is closed on weekends. Saria at the front desk did an exceptional job.
All was great. Would like to see food available past 11 PM. Super friendly folks and a perfect location. I recommend that you go and stay here when visiting Toronto
If you extend your stay for too long and skip a day of housekeeping, a manager along with 2 staff members need to inspect your room. This inspection consist of only the manager just walking in & out of your room, ten seconds of your time, but still. The female cashier in the gift shops looks to see you're shoplifting when you're browsing. Everything else was fine, but I have no reason to ever stay there again. Even for free with points.
Nice clean, food was okay for feeding a large group of people. Audio system was clear enough for me but I was close to the stage. Parking during the weekend next door was low cost. So all in all an good experience there.
Great central location. Typical Marriott. Modern hotel, very good rooms, very quiet, great beds! Only one restaurant with small menu, but food is excellent. Staff/service both top notch.
I attended a company Christmas party here. The room was ok, but the bartenders were rude to me, and the food was terrible. The bread came out completely stale, and the desserts came out not properly cooked/made. I'm not sure if the rest of the hotel is better but I'd definitely be reluctant to attend or hold an event here.
Rare negative experience at a Marriott, which surprised me as I stay at Marriott properties a lot and it has long been my favorite hotel group, with usually excellent customer service.
Somehow my reservation got shifted from the Toronto City Center hotel to the Eaton Center without notifying me, and then when I got to the Eaton center, there was no record either. Ended up spending an hour and a half trying to get things straightened out, which meant I didn't get to my room until midnight.
Eventually they got it figured out (and I ended up staying at the Eaton Center), but in trying to get it sorted the desk staff was rude, condescending and completely unsympathetic and unhelpful. The whole thing would have been an aggravating experience on its own, but the attitude I dealt with from the manager on duty that night definitely made the night worse.
We were there for a two day conference that coincided with CIX. On the first day, the service was excellent; they brought fresh coffee during the breaks, breakfast and lunch were good and they even refreshed our water at the table. However, on the second day, for whatever reason the food and service were not as good. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were like soup. The servers bringing coffee for our breaks kept forgetting the milk and cream. And lunch was very bad, they had tacos (chicken, pulled pork and something else). Tacos were dry and bland and even the salad selection was bad. Overall an inconsistent experience. I am giving the hotel one star for the the pens they give out)
Was at the Marriott for a conference. Fantastic location; steps away from the Eaton center and easy to access by public transit. The salons were well appointed with comfortable seating and there was plenty of lounge area to relax in between sessions.
