Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters

The taste of the chicken is good and the potato wedges are great. However, it’s quite expensive and the pieces of chicken are quite small. You have to be more competitive.

Food was great. Service was fine although they were out of their signature sauce. Atmosphere was very unwelcoming as there was clearly family or friends just hanging out and being very loud and disruptive. In the very small environment that it is. It was pretty irritating. Could have been a one off situation so I would go again.

Normally Love your chicken. But, this time, both Big Marys were too extra crispy. Husband ate most of his, but mine had a thick side and rest was just very crispy skin. Normally great, but not today

The server was inpatient when i went to my pocket to get the dime. Then she proceeds to say “ oh I don’t care “ but she was loud and repeats her self for the the dime lol.
Then turns around and speaks a different language while I’m the only one there. I knew it was about me as I’m looking right at them the the cook says almost done, when I never send anything about the wait which was fine. Sure enough I get home and the sandwich was raw! At least I ordered 2 my guess wasn’t interested!

Love this location.fast, consistent, delicious.shout out to the one chick who’s been working there for a while, she’s always there, don’t know her name but she RUNS that place.never had an issue here.

We had takeout order last Tuesday and still I can't forget how bad our food was which we served our guests. We live just few min away from this Mary Browns and our order was so cold and stale from few hours specially the taters. Simply we were embarrassed in front of our guests.

TERRIBLE service. I got two chicken combos, the woman making the combos literally threw my food onto the counter, the chicken fell out and the cashier just put it back in the box. Then when the (VERY rude) cashier went to bag my items, she literally dropped everything in the bag, my gravy opened and spilled all over my boxes of chicken. When I asked for the supervisor all she said was "She's back there" and pointed to the kitchen, but did not go actually get her.

I've been to many locations, the chicken breasts I ordered here could be best described as soggy. Way too much moisture content. A piece of fried chicken should have crisp skin and this was as far from crisp as it gets. They were fast though.

Well, the day has come: (this is for all mary browns. They have officially ruined their French fries. They went the way of saving a few bucks to serve all crunchy batter like grease soaked fries. Fries should be soft in side like a baked potatoe. They were one of the few places left that I could count on but not now. Probably won't eat there anymore.

Plant based tenders are good, portions could be better.
My issue is unfriendly staff that don't care that you're there. Store cleanliness is an issue here for me.

Does the job when you want your chicken fix and craving something different than the other national chain.

Today, April 29th, I bought a 5 piece tenders and the original chicken sandwich, I would not buy that sandwich again, that was the first time trying that sandwich, and the last time, it was hard, weird texture, I dont know if it was sitting for a while, very disappointed, however the tenders were much better.

Mary Brown disappointed me today, I have ordered 5 Big Mary, 4 were spicy and one with Mayo only. They gave me all spicy and one of my kid didn’t eat his meal and look what we found in Big Mary Spicy long hair. Disgusting you should improve the quality and cleanliness.

I have never had a good experience with the staff here. I always feel like I'm an inconvenience for them when I make an order. The guys in the back always seem unhappy working there and angry that they actually have to make my food. However, the food is good and the portions are reasonable for the price.

One of the best fried chicken sandwiches you can get. Been always a great treat. Love the taters as well

Omg this is the best to eat. KFC you've met your match these guys are the best for flavor moist And whatever breading they use on their chicken oh my God to die for it's expensive yes but you get your money's worth it's amazing

Food was very hot and fresh. I called in the order and the girl who answered was very friendly. Was ready as soon as I arrived.

Mixed review tonight. Been here several times. Place is clean. Staff is friendly. Service is fast and, overall, pretty good. However, I specifically asked for dark meat only in my 3-piece takeout dinner. When I got home, I opened it to find all white meat. That having been said, the chicken was still pretty good. I'll go back.but I'll be checking my order next time.

Tried to call in a pick up order and the lady was on repeat saying skip the dishes.i told her it wasnt working and instead of taking my order she wanted to tell me the customer that skip was working how about instead of proving your customer that they are wrong or they dont know how to use skip the dishes you just take my order so you have a job to go to?

Came in to a full capacity (covid times) had it cleared out in roughly 5-7 minutes was pretty impressive and the food quality didn't suffer either

Stopped in for Big Mary Monday. Ordered 3 spicy Big Mary’s, taters and a 3 piece combo. Service was quick, food was fresh and hot. I think the Big Mary edges out Popeyes when it comes to their chicken

Like this place. Prices a little higher than KFC, however, once you open the box you'll know why! The pieces are meatier, the batter is crisp but not too much. Tastes great. Taters are fabulous. Try it and see for yourself. Chicken sandwiches are fantastic.

Horrible customer service and food is sub par, the employee serving me was literally talking on her phone in her Indian language while packing my food and handing it to me. Very unprofessional!

I call ahead to make a order for 7: 30 I got there at 7: 30 and I still have to wait another 20 minutes almost, in the meantime there was people there ordering last minute and picking up before me this is bull

Had the buffalo maryjanes sandwich sandwich wiyh poutine asked to cancel drink and side to add poutine i don't think she understood that and a3pc ckwn with a tiny (the size of cup. One would put a dressing in). Cost was nearly 40.00! But Im a picky eater and I devoured it and my guest was happy. Being the cost i.may return

The food is always good, unfortunately there is always a long wait. Last night was 40 min. Several weeks ago it was around 30 min.

It's not many places somebody can go and get treated with respect every single time. This location has great staff and you never feel they don't want to serve you. I appreciate the safe here especially a woman named Naveen! Thank you guys for always being curious with my orders!

I have been here a few times the big Mary sandwich tastes amazing and tried the Buffalo sandwich as well. Only complaint would be sometimes the chicken pieces are small and are more bone and less meat.

Chicken is tasty has a good zing to it! Sides are a little small compared to competitor's slightly on the pricey side for the same amount of meal packages

Really good service. Never had a bad experience. They always use high quality ingredients. Food is prepared fresh and timely.
Important to know: the boneless menu items use hand-slaughtered-halal-chicken and bone-in menu items use machine-slaughtered-halal-chicken.

This place has gone down hill ever since the new owners took over. Chicken is as greasy as KFC. The coleslaw that's supposed to be made fresh everyday was brown. There's no way the coleslaw was made today.

Ordered 3 meals 2 came back wrong when I called i was told I was was wrong with additiude. What we did receive (not what I ordered is soggy unedible) taters and chicken. 40$ wasted and 2 people out a meal

Terrible service. Call in order first time got to restaurant and still waited over 30 mins. Second time called in and still waited plus order was wrong. This place needs to get it together.

After we ordered and waited 15 minutes, staff filled all the skip the dishes orders, then told us it would be 15 more minutes since they ran out of chicken. Asked for a refund and left.

This location has been closed down for almost 2 months now needs a sign on the door for customers to know

If you want a less greasy and healthier fried chicken with nicely spiced wedges, look no further. This Canadian restaurant chain does a good job at allowing one to eat the chicken without feeling the overbloatness of oil and queesiness after eating more than 3 chickens. Dont get me wrong, KFC and Popeyes have good chicken too, but this restaurant is def worth a try for those that want something with white meat for their thighs and less oil and batter in their meal. Be warned; their spicy chicken gives an extreme kick to the tastebuds.

The store hours are opening at 11, I arrived at 1130 and the store was unopened. Got really excited since Mary browns is the best fast food chicken around now, but obviously this owner doesn’t take his store or Employees seriously. Won’t be back at this location.

Worst experience I've ever had GOT ALL MY FAMILY SICK never ordering from here again. My family having really bad symptoms after consuming the food our stomachs were feeling so bad could barely sleep also had bad diahrea and vomiting I would think twice before ordering. Worst feeling after eating any fast food this has never occurred before felt like a rock was in out stomach also my dad was vomiting constantly and had a very bad stomach pain this is a serious health hazard my family was so disappointed we may stop ordering any fast food after this experience and I'm 100% sure we will never be ordering from Mary brown's ever again rate this store 0 stars doesnt even deserve a 1 also there could be something in the oil or they havent changed the oil in months also if your a pescitarian they cook the fish in the same oil as chicken.

The service is quick. The food is fresh. Although since the management change, their chicken tenders have less batter now. Also, the size of tenders are much smaller now.

Do not order this location here food poisoning alert cold and soggy unclean store the oil is months could be a year old they dont wash their hands and also a serious health hazard please dont get your kids this food lots of bad reviews they deserve 0 stars

Everytime I go there they give the wrong order.its terrible.you ask for one thing then get something different

I've heard only good things about this place from other people so I was excited to see what this place had to offer. From the first glance at the menu, there was.signature chicken, combos. Snacks. Desserts. I had ordered some snacks.

Mary browns is always excellent. Food was great. Service was very good, 2 ladies in the store 1 serving 1 doing the cooking. Great customer service. Very polite and sociable. I recently started getting the big Mary sandwich. Great choice I'm not one for chicken sandwiches but this one takes the cake. Delicious.

Ordered a Buffalo Mary and was disappointed with my meal itself. Service wasn't horrible, although I paid for 2 burgers when I only wanted one so I kept the second only to find out I wouldn't be satisfied with either one. The chicken was barely dipped in Buffalo Sauce the edges had next to none and chicken was slightly overcooked.

I went there to get some food for my brother's birthday and the lady there, Gurleen was super helpful and friendly. The chicken was hot and fresh, great experience.

My favourite chicken restaurant. If only it had seating! The chicken is well prepared and not overly greasy, the tater wedges are fantastic the poutine they make is fantastic.

I have been there a couple of times but the staff is very disrespectful and their is sometimes not fresh, I used to know a guy that used to work their which told me that their food it sometimes not unto the standards

Okay, so it's not racist if it's the TRUTH so just keep that in mind as you read this review. This location USE to be great until the Punjabs took over! Mary Brown's is advertised as "100% Canadian" and now it's anything but. Just like any other restaurant that's run by Indians, there is chaos and confusion all around. The poor girl at the cash was CLEARLY overworked (and probably under paid!) and she was bowing and calling the old Indian guy in the kitchen "sir" like she was a slave girl with no rights back in the "old country! " And of course, they're all babbling back and forth in their home language. No surprise here, but the food was HORRIBLE! The chicken was under cooked, soggy and pink inside! It was just bad on all levels. I hope these new owners realize that they have destroyed the reputation and legacy of Mary Brown's (at least the Hespeler location anyway.) And don't take offense to what I'm saying and victimize yourself.there's nothing I've said here that isn't the truth. Take the constructive criticism and put it towards making a positive change. You can start off by cooking your food.
