Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters

My family uses this location quite often, once or twice a week. We’ve been doing take out for a few years now. Everyone at home has their favorite food: taters, the burgers, the spicy chicken with the gravy.
This is our favorite fried chicken place in the area. Even more important than the food though is the hospitality - the service is exceptional and the people are warm and welcoming.
We like to order through the app. Orders are usually ready extremely quickly and always with a smile.

We ordered takeout at this location for the first time and was disappointed with the food. The service was quick, chicken was good but the taters were way too salty like a bag of salt was poured onto them and the biscuits had a weird aftertaste. Not sure if we will order from this location again.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they’re little expensive than Popeyes. Otherwise, they’re pretty good and their Chicken is tasty too especially the Spicy ones.

Ran out of taters twice. Wasn't able to try them yet but French fries are still good.

The cooks really know what they're dping here! This is my favourite place to grab a quick bite. The food delicious and Halal, which makes it even better. The food is always fresh and the customer service is top-notch. The staff is always friendly, ready to recommend and quick to serve.

Every time the food is so good fresh n love the quick service. My favorite location for a reason n love the friendly staff.

Order was delivered at around 9: 40PM. We brought the food at home and found that Instead of Big Mary the gave us small sandwiches. This is first time we visited at this store.
Bad experience ….

The lady who served me was exceptionally friendly, efficient and helpful. The store is very clean and the food I order is delicious. Thank you!

This would be the second time I've ordered from this location and the fries are half full or half empty.
Why?
I didn't order half the fries?
This is not acceptable and is pure robbery.
If you give me half fries I should ONLY pay half the price.
The next time I purchase from this location I will be opening the box before I depart the store.

Always consistently solid quality and service. Probably the best Mary Brown's in Durham (all of them are pretty good to be honest).

Arrived here 9: 45pm they close at 10pm on the Monday for the Big Mary special. The store already had like 3-4 people in it and one person was adding items to his order. I spoke to the cashier and asked for the big Mary when she stated that there were no more and they weren’t serving them anymore for the night? Didn’t want a hassle so didn’t argue…ended up going for Popeyes around the corner and they took care of me. I get it you probably want to start early on cleaning or whatever it is but to shut things down that early on a Monday when you know it’s busy was not good, usually the cashiers here are pleasant but think maybe they were overwhelmed.disappointed.

We had some cravings last night and this spot fix them! It was close to closing time so we had to wait about 20min for the 9 piece chicken, we agreed and waited. It was great! Chicken was fresh, flavourful and fully cooked! We had tried various fried chicken places and this place has a great recipe. The only thing it could be crisper! This location made our experience great! We will come back again.

Just treated the Gkids to the Summer Pack chicken special, nice treat. Our compliments to the chef. Great service, great staff, and this location is well organized and clean.

This place has been a disappointing mary brown's since the past 3 years.

As I know they under season all items

Consistently under seasoned taters and underwhelming spice. Even after special instructions.

I expect better.

Next time I will check the spice level before leaving the takeout place.

I love this spot! They serve splendid food, they have a rich menu, The chef in that restaurant is very experienced, I like a lot tasting all their dishes. The dishes are consistently of high qualtity, the service towards the clients is very good too. I go often to this place and I not even once was disappointed. I recommend it to all.

Terrible customer service. I called from my car to order to avoid unnecessary contact and saw the girl at the cash answer and then hang up my call. This was after I had called 3 times and watched them ignore my calls. In these trying times, social distancing is important and I'm trying to do my part by limiting my contact with others. It is a shame that the staff at this location do not seem to care.

Will not be returning to this location again.

Went to check out big Mary Mondays, sandwich was good but really I thought it would be bigger. Definitely not as good as Popeyes.but decent for the price of $3.99 on a Monday

Great food. Courteous staff. Chicken was moist and juicy. Fries and taters were hot best gravy around! I'll be back!

Had the Big Mary sandwich and it was hot and fresh, the store is well organized during Covid and they manage to handle it very well.

Friendly staff! I love their chicken! Nice a crispy and flavourful. Their "Big Mary" chicken. Sandwich has become my favorite chicken sandwich. You have to wait a bit for tge food to cook and it is well worth the wait! (Their app can let you order ahead which cuts the wait.)

35 min for a chicken burger I ordered first out of 6 people and they were all served first was late getting back to work. If you are on lunch break do not go here! 2 skip the dishes came in and were served first garbage service.

This place is great, I have worked here but had to leave due to some health issues (hope I will join again). Customer health is first for you guys, everything is made into so clean and tidy environment.

Food is what you would expect from Mary Brown’s. What’s great about this location is that it’s always fresh. The portion sizes have stayed the same for the chicken combos, but prices went up a bit recently (nothing crazy).

The customer service is normally great at this location (it always seems to be the same woman working up front). I would like it to be open later, but other than that no complaints!

A good place to hop in when you want to have something Halal (verified and available at this location). Good Customer Service, Very helpful and courteous Staff. Aysha a great manager who guide customer in doubt. Burger was delicious. Poutine was good but could be improved. I wanted to give 4.5 star but you guys deserve 5!:)

Tried this MB in whitby for the first time. Service was excellent and food was deeeelish! Mary Bowns ALWAYS pleases.
