I've been here for a weekday lunch date with my wife, the food is unbelievably good! Authentic, rich, flavourful I'm salivating just remembering it now.
This restaurant deserves a much higher rating! The staff is friendly and courteous. The food is delicious and I've enjoyed a beautiful sunset with it. The music was soothing and the volume just right; very cosy atmosphere. Clean and spacious. The washrooms are wheelchair accessible! Great place to eat! Thank you!
5 stars for being absolutely delicious! Butter chicken and butter naan for the win! Service/speed could be improved. FYI it's not on their website but sign on the doors says they're only open for take-out on Tuesdays
Rustic look to Indian Cusine. One got to have a heavy appetite to finish the portion of dishes they serve. Taste is swcond to none. Prior reservation is recommended. They take orders through phone as well.
Editing and reducing the stars since the taste is not as good. And the young servers need guidance. The last time we visited, they made us wait for more than hour and when they got the food, one of the curry was missing but got naan. The server said, we didn't order it when we asked for it and he was hesitant to get it. Another experienced server came in and offered to get it made quickly. I guess we were stupid to eat only naan and Biryani and some starter. Anyway while waiting for the curry to be made, the breads are getting cold so we asked to make fresh and get it again with the Curry. Guess what, server got fresh naan without curry. So the bread was getting cold again.
We went for a celebration dinner to this place today and had a really bad experience on the service and professionalism front. We ordered a Vegetable platter along with other dishes and after 35 mins of waiting, our server came and told us that our main course was ready but appetizer would take longer as they were serving this platter for this first time. Understanding that this might be a one off "getting started" issues, we went ahead with the maincourse as we were told that appetizer would follow soon. In the meanwhile, we also ordered multiple other sides which our server also kept forgetting and we had to remind multiple times to get all of those. What annoyed us the most was the fact that we finished our main course but even then our appetizer did not arrive and that was after multiple reminders at this point. Another server (lady wearing orange jacket) was apologetic about it but our server stopped even coming to our table (not even for refilling our water) as she was trying to avoid the confrontation and accept the mistake. The manager of the restaurant came later and told us that our appetizer was still going to take longer and that point we asked him to just cancel our order and all he said was "ok" with not ever a word of apology. Most of the other decent places would actually try to make up for their mess with atleast some sought of complimentary dishes or discounting the cheques but the management there did not even have courtesy to say "sorry" after knowing that they were totally at fault here, leave alone any other good will gestures. Only silver lining in all of this was that the food was really good and I am hoping they can learn from this review on how to improve their service quality as Ottawa really needs good Indian restaurants which Masakkali can totally become, if they dont take their customers for granted.
Our first time ordering food from Masakali Indian Cuisine. We ordered Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma, Plain Rice, Tandoori Roti and Naan. The portion was very good, food tasted amazing. Butter chicken was made to perfection, tasted authentic. Highly recommend it
I always order Paneer Butter Masala, and every time I am highly impressed with the flavour and spice level of the dish (I order it mild). My husband ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Aloo Tikki, which were perfectly cooked and left us wanting more.
The service was impeccable, with Parvathy attentive and ensuring our water glasses were always filled. The ambiance of the restaurant was also very welcoming, making for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for delicious Indian food and excellent service. We will definitely be returning soon!
Not a very good first experience. I went there and asked why Dine in is closed at 7 pm and the guy said that dine in is closed on Tuesday. Fine, I order a take out. I came after 20 mins and the dine in was opened and few customers were sitting there. Not sure why he lied. Nevermind, I hoped that food should be good. I have my first bite and chaap was extremely burnt. Then I realized that every bite of Chaap was burnt. Not sure if I will go again.
It is our go to place for the Indian food in Kanata Stitsville area. Have tried there Kadhai Chicken which is good though little on the oily side. Chicken Tandoori items are good too. Staff is very nice and courteous and service is well is relatively quick. They do adjust the spice level according to your expectations.
We came as a large group.the first restaurant that i encountered that can mess up order and bill so badly.they have no idea who ordered what and they messed up the bill.
And they are blaming customers for not remembering their bill wow!
with unreasonably priced food, and refuse to refund me for extra tips (on top of gratuinity), this is the worst indian restaurant that i have ever been to.definitely they are quickly adapted to North America tipping culture and get rid of all the great asian serving culture.
Masakali is absolutely awesome! I love their food and service. Highly recommend this place to those who love Indian food! It’s a bit expensive but you definitely get what you pay for!
This place deserves 5 star. Delicious food. We tried Chilli Chicken and it was amazing. Tandoori Mushroom starter was delicious as well. Biryani was good and spicy. Mango Lassi was perfect. Will surely come back to try other things on menu
Phenomenal food with a great respect to authenticity. The service was fantastic with smiles and manners to frill. We were delighted to find that one of the dishes we were looking to eat wasn’t on the menu…. SO THEY MADE IT CUSTOM FOR US. Very impressed with this establishment and we will absolutely return to patronize such a lovely new spot. 10/10
Loved it. Didn't even know we had this gem close-by. Great experience, awesome flavor, and thoughtful preparation. We will most definitely be adding this place to our "favorites" rotation for dining out.
Hands down, Masakali is the best Indian restaurant in Stittsville area. Our company orders from here once in a while and it's always great. My fav is the chicken 65 for a spicy challenge but others really enjoy the butter chicken or the tandoori chicken. Just make sure you try some awesome naan too, esp the garlic one!
I loved this restaurant! Relaxing ambience and tasteful food! I have not eaten lots of Indian food but I thoroughly enjoyed all the options and selections here. The servers were very sweet and accommodating, the restaurant was clean and well organized. Definitely would love to come back here in the future!
I ordered Spinach Dal and basmati rice, and it was delicious! The rice was cooked perfectly - so fluffy! The dal was flavourful, and the portion could easily serve 2 adults. Can't wait to try out more of their veg options!
We were looking forward to having Indian food while visiting Stittsville this weekend. Masakali Indian Cuisine was perfect! The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. We will definitely be coming back many times!
We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, methi malai chicken, 2 different Naans (plain and Garlic) and Sweet/Mango Lassis. Everything was delicious and very fresh! Masakali Indian restaurant is our go-to Indian restaurant in the city.
Fantastic dining experience. Our server, yashika was incredible and went above and beyond to make sure we truly enjoyed our meal and we absolutely did. She talked to the kitchen to ensure my food was the perfect spice level, and even graciously added potatoes to my girlfriend’s Chana masala. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Everything about our experience was perfect. We will definitely be returning to Masakali soon.
Drove all the way from Nepean. What a gem of a place! The mango lassi was the best I've had, ever. The right amount of sweet and tart, oh my! I had the lamb curry and my partner the chicken tikka masala. The sauce is silky and delicious. We ordered a 6/6 spice level and it was just right! Try them, you won't be disappointed. Also, the service was wonderful. Inviting, calm and extremely pleasant.
I ate there with my family and my kids are very picky eaters making it difficult to eat out. We all loved it especially the kids. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The best Indian food in the city hands down. Our new favorite restaurant.
WANT TO RUIN YOUR INDIAN FOOD EXPEREINCE? THEN THIS RESTURANT IS FOR YOU!
Was waiting to see if I have bad experience multiple times before writing a review and looks like its a norm for this restaurant.
To begin with, Very average food with high price.
Some false practices they do with the billing as well.
To quote an incident: while we were having food, asked for one freaking roti and waited for like 35 minutes and then at last had to tell them to cancel it since no one brought it. Spoiled the diner for me.
Guess what? The roti that was never served was in the bill and upon telling about it what they did was to take out the roti charge but charged tax for a roti's cost which i noticed after coming back home. Also, please start admitting when you are the wrong ones. No need to argue over it.
Guys u need a life. Don't play with peoples' trust else that day will be near, when your business will fall like many big businesses. If you keep on doing such things, many people will start noticing such false practices and soon there will be a day when your image will be in bad light.
On a separate note - another day, ordered a chicken seekh kabab and asked for additional very tiny pack of green chutney that comes with it, and the lady at the counter simply refused and didnt even tell if we can buy it separately or not?
We got curries - kadai Panneer and chicken curry. Taste is really good as usual but the amount of oil is really scaring! We had to remove so much of oil from both the boxes. If they can reduce the amount of oil packed to customers that would be great. It’s alarming amount of oil though.
Please be organized with the staff serving the tables. There should be one person serving a group of tables. During our stay, different staff members came checking on us for over 7 times which is too excessive.
Secondly, I recommend moving the trash bin in the washroom closer to the washroom door. This way we can use the paper towel that we dried our hands with to open the door then dispose of it accordingly. I'd rather not hold the washroom door handle with my bare hands.
