I gave this place a 2nd try. The rooms are dingy, with smelly towels, carpets are so old. One room is next to come electric room where you hear all those noises. They rub you not massage you. I said I have lower back issues and guess what lower back was least touched on.
I would never waste my money going here again. I booked a deep tissue massage and received the lightest surface rub I have experienced. I filled out a form explaining my problem areas (lower mid and upper back) and also explained to the therapist upon the start of my massage and still left feeling the same, knots and tension in my back. I asked for more pressure multiple times but obviously its awkward and becomes confrontational if I have to say it more than twice. I just wanted to relax so I let it be, knowing I just wanted to leave after 15 minutes. Upon the end of the massage to finish it off as the therapist was leaving I had to stop her and ask if I could get a towel because I was covered in oil. I believe when oil is used without asking it should be mandatory to wipe it off In the end even if it’s just quickly. I don’t want to put a spotlight on the therapist. But I would never go here again for sure.
I started coming to Massage Addict a year ago, and was randomly assigned Greg Tristani … and what a blessing he has been. Greg’s Manual Therapy approach to his massages has been integral in my pain management prior to and recovery from shoulder surgery in Nov. 2022. He has and continues to be an important part of my self care routine. If you are looking for an RMT, Greg’s disposition will put you at ease, he listens and addresses concerns, he is professional and can often anticipate my mood and need for quiet (or chatter). Greg follows up each massage with a check in and suggested follow up stretches. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent RMT. I have also had lovely interactions with many of the front desk staff at Massage Addict who are friendly and efficient.
Disappointed in my initial massage. Booked deep tissue and Requested firm pressure, started well but didn’t last long. Also my priority requested area was done last and ran out of time to work on it more, leaving it not very relaxed. Also left covered in a heavy layer of oil.
Had the pleasure of visiting recently. There has been management change and the new staff. Certainly pays attention to detail and are professional. Good luck to them in continuation of effort towards maintaining consistency
Gregory is by far the best RMT I have ever had. After having his work I honestly don’t know what it have been paying for every other month for year with other people. Not only did he address every ache and pain, he let me receive self care in peace. Thank you for not trying to chat and letting me relax. Book with him!
I had a great experience at my RMT massage. Mary Jane was extremely helpful and knowledgable. She brought to my attention several issues including balance and gait issues that I did not know I had. I really appreciate all the tips she gave me and will definitely return in future.
Went to this place for the first time yesterday and had an excellent experience with the RMT Sameh Said. I had some pain in my upper back and an area around my left shoulder blade and it all was gone after the massage and I felt like a newborn. Strongly recommended!
Keshav Uppal is very professional. He listens and understands. I have had stress related issues that had shown up in the form of muscle aches in my shoulders and lower back. He explains to me the differences of massage types and their effects on our body. The experience was quite pleasant. I can feel the difference after my session. I definitely recommend him to anybody who is looking for a great RMT!
I had left a bad review previously for some questionable treatments, but the front of house staff assured me that the RMT I saw today was the best fit for me and what I was more looking for! They were spot on, Greg was a great RMT, he listened to my complaints and fixed my issues with my shoulder pain! Had the opportunity to try reflexology for the first time with Danielle as well. Great service and very knowledgeable. All in all a way better experience than the first 2 times. I have already rebooked a massage with Greg and am looking forward to it! 4 stars only because I didn't appreciate the first 2 times I was basted with oil, but I think we've found a better suited RMT for my needs.
Beware i called to this branch. An idiot stupid guy answered they offer massage but any day you suggest is always fully booked. Misleading info if you dont want to accept customer just closed your store.
Amazing experience at this clinic. Felt very relaxed. Marianne at the front desk is very nice and pleasant. The therapist was perfect, I had the best time today!
I’ve Visited this Massage Addict location often, and can honestly say that they truly care. Not only are the staff always professional, pleasant, and informative, but they also really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and valued. The location is very clean and welcoming. Booking has never been an issue, and they are very quick to respond to and accommodate schedule changes whenever possible.
Also, during COVID, they have even taken extra safety precautions above standard PPE requirements by using touchless thermometers, ensuring everyone uses hand sanitizer, and completing proper cleanings between patients. I always felt safe in their hands, so to speak.
The worst, most uncomfortable and unprofessional experience of my life. I made an appointment with a male staff member named Michael Klodt. I stopped the massage about 20 minutes in due to the fact that he made me feel VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I could tell that he was only using one hand during the massage, his breathing pattern changed and the aura in the room was telling me something just wasn’t right. I stuck to my instinct and looked back to see him on his CELLPHONE. Regardless of what he was doing, I knew right away this was not appropriate and asked him to stop. The manager was later informed because I immediately got dressed and left feeling very emotional and disgusted with the behaviour in an environment that is supposed to be nothing but relaxing and professional. The individual admitted he was on his phone to his boss. She made excuses for him justifying his actions. She tried to “hug” me and tell me things are okay and thought that would make me feel better. The manager had no conflict resolution skills as she pretty much dusted the issue under the rug. To end off, there were no repercussions for his actions as he is still employed. I would HIGHLY suggest you do not support this establishment as I will never be returning and I would hope no one ever has to encounter this same experience.
This is the first message place i have went too. I had the most wonderful experience since i have a ticklish back the rmt Jenn was very good with me and very knowledgeable in her profession she took her time with me and was a great experience with her thank you
My wife booked me a much needed deep tissue massage as part of a surprise birthday present. One of the best presents ever! Chris was extremely professional knowledgeable, friendly and knew exactly how much pressure and where. He looks like a very strong man but I never felt he applied too much pressure and asked about my preference for strength. He made some friendly conversation at the beginning, more so to find out where I needed the most attention. Very nice staff, very clean and taking all the necessary precautions during these covid times. One of the best massages I’ve ever had and will definitely book with them going forward. Thank you Chris!
The front staff at Massage Addict on Appleby are helpful and polite. Jaclyn Clarke is an amazing acupuncturist - really talented at explaining the treatments. Massages here are great as well.
I had such a great experience at Massage Addict! Everyone was so friendly from the second I walked in. It was my first visit, and I had Juraj (George) as my therapist. As a female, I find it can be a bit awkward having a male RMT - but he was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable right away. He may be a newer RMT but there is no doubt he knows what he is talking about. I highly recommend both Massage Addict and Juraj! I will definitely be back!
I can't say enough good things about Jaclyn Clark. I went for an Acupuncture treatment - a little skeptical - and came out so relaxed and refreshed and blown away! She is very knowledgable and most importantly listens to what you are saying and incorporates your needs into her treatments and takes great pleasure in helping you. I felt so relaxed afterwards that I felt like I was moving in slow motion and it certainly helped my brain to do just that. I look forward to working with her in the future.
Called me 20 minutes before my appointment to cancel. Had I done the same, I would be charged for the session, I guess my time isn't as valuable as theirs. It has a silver lining though, after I scheduled my day around this and even arranged a sitter. They offered a makeup appointment at noon during the work week. You know-when the majority of people are at work.
Booked a massage- it was cancelled less than an hour before it was supposed to happen by MA.
It was rescheduled. Then on the day of my new appointment, MA calls again to cancel less than 2 hours before my massage. When I mention that this happened before the receptionist suggests “trying a different practitioner”
I had another massage booked for today. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it as I ended up stuck in the city. I called as soon as I knew (3 hours before) and was informed that they would be expecting payment and this would go on my record.
I have been going to this location for a few years now. If you need deep tissue massage and really need to work on those knots. Jen is THE person to go to. I also love the Hot Stone massage here and really enjoy Reflexology. All the therapists are knowledgeable and amazing. They work with you for short and long term plans. My favorite person here thou is the receptionist - Marianne.adorable and extremely sweet.:)
Front desk person very nice.the massage was not what I have experienced in the past. Almost painful.did indicate this to RMT during the massage. The RMT was not personable.abrupt at times.kept telling me to relax.will not return.
Love this place! Staff are super friendly! Told my masseuse about some problem areas and with finesse, they took care of it like a charm. I definitely recommend this location. They take care of you! Definitely going back soon!
I took my son to this location today to help him recover from some intense sports training. The masseuse did a great job and we had no issue from that end of the service. The issue we had was with the front desk customer service. The lady at the front desk wasn’t very friendly, and she insisted on charging us for an hour long massage even though my son only received a 45 minute massage - as was recommended by the masseuse. Due to being forced to pay for 15 minutes of service not received the masseuse’s tip was cut out to balance out the over-charge. This business over charging cost the masseuse - that actually did a good job - her tip. It’s all backwards. The business did a bad job and got paid. The masseuse did a good job and didn’t get paid.
Had a problem with a previous visit and they reached out to me and took care of everything. Booked another appt with Diana and it was night and day. Would definetly go back to her again and would recommend anyone to her.
It should actually be a zero star! I’ve gone to several spas over the years and I’ve never had this experience before whereby an establishment would cancel not just once but twice without a sincere apology. I had made an appointment with a staff named Michael about 3 weeks ago on a Friday then I received a phone call an hr before my appt stating that the appt.had to be cancelled much to my disappointment. Then 2 weeks after that, I booked another appointment also on a Friday and one hr before my scheduled appt.a staff named Maryann called to let me know that Chris was not available due to a stomach flu and she never offered another time to try to fit me in. I reminded Maryann that this was the 2nd last minute cancellation and that both appointments were on a Friday and that the last time it was cancelled I had it booked for around the same time and asked what was going on? She replied- “ actually the last time you had an appointment, it wasn’t for 2: 30 it was for 12: 30pm so the times arendifferent but yea- the same day. ” What kind of business is this? If you’re going to cancel an appointment at least try to sound like you care and be professional about it. She didn’t care and was not sorry that I had to change my schedule to travel back to Burlington for this appt.it was unbelievable! Absolutely disgusted! Needless to say, I ended up finding two great places who are professionals and will treat their customers with respect: Hand and Stone spa on Appleby and Hand to Foot Oasis on Harvester. An establishment such s this terrible one has to learn that customers will not put up with this business practice and they should not be supported. While I understand that people do get sick- but both staff got sick on a Friday and this is how a receptionist/ admin apologizes or deal with their inconvenienced customer? Not acceptable! Practice your consumer buying power everyone- don’t support small or big companies if they don’t give respect.
Went for the reflexology treatment, got it for a good price. It was better than I thought. They only touch your feet, but it is extremely relaxing. Elizabeth was so intelligent and delightful to spend time with. She educated me and let me know what she was doing as she'd perform. Would recommend trying it once with Elizabeth, good experience
