Got psychologically abused by the staff. Spent my night in pain. Won’t be back only for take out.

Match has one of the nicest water views in Sarnia and definitely one of the nicest patio areas. It’s a great place to have a drink, watch sports, play pool (open table) or listen to live music! The atmosphere is really nice, clean restaurant and friendly service!

Yesterday my husband and I went for a late lunch. Our lovely server's name was Linda. She was fantastic. The patio was totally full, but she made time to smile and check on us often. The food and the view were outstanding. Thank you Linda for a great expereince.

I went to the Match Eatery located at the Starlight casino in Point Edward. They have a delightful patio and my husband and I were looking forward to enjoying a couple of glasses of wine and a meal on the patio.

Unfortunately the atmosphere included listening to a heated argument between the waitress and bar tender about how the previous day's tips should have been split. The waitress was obviously quite angry about the argument and as a result did not offer us the chance to order a second drink and just presented us with our bill as soon as we finished eating what can only be described as sub standard food.

Probably the best waterfront eatery in Sarnia/Point Edward. Great service. The food is good. Watching the river traffic is amazing. Truly unique.

We went in with a large group of us. The server and staff were extremely accommodating. Brought us out our drinks and food promptly. Delicious food and everyone was satisfied with their meal. The server was extremely friendly and was one of the best costumer service experience I’ve had in awhile We will definitely go back again!

Host said over an hour wait for a table …. 16 open tables and 9 occupied tables. Said due to lack of staffing. Do better

Very impressed with this restaurant. Love the outdoor seating as every table has an incredible view of the St Clair River and Blue Water Bridge. Food was reasonably priced and tasted fantastic. Service was great, but a bit slow.but no complaining here as the constant river traffic kept us occupied during the wait time.
The NY Strip steak meal was excellent, the fish and chips were very good and so was the chicken sandwich w/fries.
Restaurant was crowded, but cleared out by sunset, which was perfect for viewing the gorgeous afterglow. Once it was dark, the lighting from the Blue Water Bridge was breathtaking. If this wasn't enough, then watching a couple of freighters move up the river and underneath the BW Bridge made the night view more special. Overall, Match Eatery was a wonderful idea after being entertained in the casino. I would definitely do it again.

I have been ordering from this establishment for over a year with no problems. Food always delicious. I had two occasions recently where I needed to request a refund through skip because my order was cold and soggy when it arrived at my home over an hour and a half after ordering. Since that instance, anytime I have tried to place an order they have rejected it.
Disappointed to see that this is how they deal with their own mistakes. (I guess their rating reflect the poor management.)

After contact with the manager, we were invited to return to Match for a second chance. We returned for another fight and it was like night and day. Our server was excellent and extremely friendly, our seats were great, and our food was excellent. Thank you Match Eatery for making it right!

My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time, in order to watch a ufc match. We had a great experience over all. One of our servers was civil, but the rest of the staff was warm and friendly. My food was good, but my husband didn’t like the wings he got. But we liked the atmosphere and the view of the fights. However, we returned for another ufc fight and were treated very poorly. The waitress obviously didn’t want to be there. There were plenty of tables open but she refused to seat us anywhere but an empty table with a very poor view of the tvs, or we had the option of sitting at the bar. I have mobility issues so bar stools are too difficult to sit on. There was one table that was empty and had a great view of the big screen tv, but we were told we couldn’t have it because the previous occupant had left but indicated he might be back later for dessert…. Might…. We decided to leave. This restaurant has a lot of potential but some of the staff is killing it. We would love to return and enjoy ufc nights, but are hesitant after our last experience.

First time here. Everything was good. Value for the money was impressive especially on some of their specials.

Very disappointed with wing night. Wings were overcooked, dirty fries were a joke. Half priced Wine was the best part. Waitress was nice.

Brutal. I’m only giving one star for the location and the beautiful view. My boyfriend and I went in around 5 and it was not busy. The service was terrible, our waitress was rude, the food was so bland and tasteless. And to top it off it made both of us sick in the middle of the night. It’s a shame because it’s a lovely looking restaurant with great potential. I think it needs new management or staff.

Cancelled my order with no explanation whatsoever. Will never give them my business again. Shame on you match.

Had the Brussels sprout appetizer and ribs. Always love the Sprouts and the ribs were good, with a little kick. The waitress was really friendly and attentive.

Very poor experience. None of the food that we ordered was available. The waitress wasn’t knowledgeable enough to tell us this when we ordered and had to come back to us after she put the order in. We went to another restaurant. Boulevard where we were enjoyed a fabulous meal and excellent customer service.

Very poorly managed. DO NOT dine here. Long waits at the door of 30-60 minutes even on weekdays. Food quality keeps getting worse since they reopened last summer. Very understaffed. Head manager should be fired and new properly trained workers should be hired to fill all the gaps in service.

Made reservations online. When we showed up they told us it would still be about 40 minutes for a table. There was maybe only 20 people in the restaurant. Not sure why we would need to wait. Sarnia's nicest patio restaurant that is run horribly! What a waste

The Mushroom Pesto Rigatoni was excellent. Loaded with a large amount of mushrooms. Nicely surprising and delicious. Cyprus Beet Salad was filling and hardy. Would order it again. It was a great spot for our group and lots of variety to choose from. Everyone was able to find something they liked.

Good food, yes. Friendly wait staff, yes! The reason I only rate 3 stars is because you apparently can’t make reservations yet when we waited an hour and finally were seated, there were 6 tables around us with a reservation sign on them. Which is super weird. Also, they never have enough staff so you walk into a restaurant that is 60% empty and
told it’s an hour wait. Seems a bit ridiculous when you can simply HIRE MORE PEOPLE! I think management has zero clue how to run an efficient business. I watched approximately 16 people in 5 different groups walk away and leave because of the wait when there was an entire section of 20-30 tables empty. Bad business practice! If you weren’t attached to a casino, I doubt you would be in business very long. Improve please!

The waitress disappeared after she brought our first drinks 20 minutes after we ordered them.
The rest of the drinks we had to actually go to the bar and order and when we needed to settle up, another worker had to go find the waitress to ring us out.
Worst service I’ve probably ever had.

We ate there today, my first time and I can tell you it will be the last. This is not what I would call a restaurant but a cafeteria.from the freezer to table. Not only did we wait 1.5 hrs.before getting our food but it was horrible. Our waitress was good but not much she could do about the kitchen, when we asked what was taking so long, she said they were short staffed. I could have forgave it all, if the food was good. Obviously there is no chef here, just kids warming pre-made, frozen food. Not sure how clean the dishes are, our water glass had left over lipstick on it! We never said anything, just did not use it. This is a very serious health and safety concern, if the dishes are not coming out clean, that is a problem. I don't want to eat on dirty plates! I would think with covid etc.restaurants should be taking extra care to make sure everything is spotless. I see others have had the same experience at this place, I wish I would have read the reviews prior to eating here. My advice is hire a chef and clean the dishes properly. Other than the view of the water, there is nothing here.

The service is a breed of its own. They will get to you when they feel like and if you ask for something you are really putting them out. I wasn’t even done talking and our server just walked away and then had to come to confirm what we wanted and the server even wrote it down. Ugh The service it’s not at it best.

This place only gets one star for the beautiful patio that has so much potential. I've been there three times over the last few weeks and every time has been absolutely terrible. Whoever manages this place should be fired immediately. I've worked in the industry and appreciate good. Service but. This place is the worst

This is the worst restaurant in sarnia, terrible service, management is rude and food is mid! I never leave reviews but it is that bad

Match has one of the best locations in the Sarnia area, in terms of location it’s hard to beat! The prices are fair, but our service was sub-par. Our server never introduced herself to us, brought us the wrong food, and once our food finally arrived, there were no cutlery rolls on the table, and we had to ask for it. She also kept referring to me as “Sweet-heart”, which I didn’t like, or think was appropriate.
Our 3 kids each got the chicken quesadilla with tater tots. What bad can you say about tater tots, they were just fine. The quesadillas on the other hand were made using heavily processed cheese, which we non of my kids ate. I ordered a Carlton of chocolate milk for my youngest son, and unfortunately gave him some before checking the expiry date (because why would you check the date in a restaurant). The milk had expired and was completely sour, so they graciously made him white milk with chocolate sauce mixed into it.
My wife has the Ultimate Mac and Cheese, which was inedible. There used a processed cheese sauce of sorts lathered over macaroni. The pork was not even pulled properly, with huge chunks of meat laying about. That’s not the issue though, the pork had a fishy taste, making it awful! I had the BBQ chicken pizza and didn’t have a complaint about it.
All in all, it was an extremely disappointing experience. We have dined at Match before, and loved the restaurant, but after this visit am not sure that we’ll go back again.

I ordered fish and chips
It was horrible. The fries were dark brown in colour and hard, awful. The fish batter was wet and dripping grease. The coleslaw was runny with no flavor. I kid you not worst meal ever. I would of spoken up at the restaurant but did not want to attract attention to my company. Coleslaw with no flavor hmmm. Who s cooking back there.
How old were the fries the cook decided to serve us
Match needs to not let this cook continuing cooking. Someones gonna get sick
I had to ask the waitress for clean glasses ours were dirty with lipstick still on the lip of the glass.

5 stars for the patio alone. Best thid town has tk offer as far as views go. Overall generally a good experiance inside and out. Food is good, drinks are cold. The drink specials during sporting events and happy hour specials are always great.

Most awesome food and great staff and prompt service! Fish and chips are the best. As are the burgers and hotdogs and fries and all the food! If you haven’t been to Match, you totally got to go give it a shot, totally! Handsome Twawny is a great server! All the staff are great! Love coming here!

We had dinner at this restaurant in the Casino in mid November. The waitress Judy C.was very friendly, helpful and accommodating (although busy). We were very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! One of us had the rib dinner (although we both tasted it) and it was truly fall-off-the-bone and really tasty! I had the Cyprus Beet salad which was really quite tasty. The beer was cold but we were unfortunately there too early to catch the Leafs in action on the many large screen TV's throughout this restaurant. Will definitely go back if in the area again!

The food was good. The price is okay. The ambience is fine. My little disappointment today was due to my wife's birthday. I placed a reservation through the website, they asked what was the occasion, so I was expecting a little thing to show "you are special to us, and thank you for choosing us to celebrate your birthday". But it did not happen. They have absolutely no obligation though, but they were the ones to set the expectation. I didn't ask for anything. I would say that you should not ask what is the occasion if that doesn't make any difference in the experience the customers will have.

I certainly recommend the place and the food.

Made reservations for our anniversary but sadly we were disappointed.food not great service below average. Not even the ceaser beverage was done as asked. The view was the best thing going for this place.

Worst freaking service ever i tried making a reservation on line but no response on my e mail about confirmation then i tried calling direct same freaking runaround ; go on what site they say its useless and calling help desk no one answers the phone

Follow up from our luncheon with friends yesterday, Aug 20: First of all, high praises to Linda, our "most excellent" server.her knowledge, efficiency, personality 5-star. I complimented her in person before we left and assured her I would post a review, as you'll read here. The house white wine she recommended was perfect.it was Inniskillin, a '9' I believe. Could you please send me a photo of the bottle or just the label. Thanks.

Food was good, service was really good and it was a nice atmosphere to sit and watch river traffic go past. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was really good. Value was okay and server was really nice and helpful. Worth a visit.

Priya is not a good hostess, she doesn’t accommodate people with COPD, in addition she only brought one menu for our table?

Normally I am a regular and had my birthday here, the food is good but the service isn’t the best.

First time to Match. Loved it! Food, server (Alina) and atmosphere were amazing! What a view from the patio. We were treated to a gorgeous sunset. If ya like brussel sprouts try the OMG sprouts, wow! Well done Match

I went to Match with a couple of friends for a light lunch and some drinks, the dining room was spotless and the service was very pleasant right off the bat. I ended up getting a pepperoni pizza since it was on sale for $10 and was very impressed. They have a very wide selection of beers on tap which was nice as well. Overall I would definitely recommend dining here as the food was unique and delicious and the service was personal and fast.

2021 Edit

Came here when the patio opened and it was a rather disappointing visit. They were so very obviously understaffed, as it took over an hour for anyone to receive their food, other tables as well. When my pizza came, it had no garlic and when I inquired they said it was the last pizza and I'd have to get something else. Along with that, the pizza wasn't even sliced properly so I had to do it with my butter knife. I hate to change my review because the staff is always so friendly and helpful, but unfortunately they aren't being given the chance to be a great restaurant at the moment.

Excellent food - blackened tuna/shrimp, Korean chicken, Thai chicken salad; wonderful atmosphere- great views of the river but unfortunately poor service. Our server displayed a negative attitude to simple requests, removed part of her mask over her mouth once to talk, slow to remove dirty dishes or check in with her customers. Disappointing dining experience despite great food and views.

Ordered the "ULTIMATE CLUB" (asked for no sauce) was only served a sandwich with lettuce & FROZEN turkey lunch meat. I then complained and got a new sandwich with the correct toppings (lettuce, tomato, BACON) looked absolutely delicious. But yet again. Turkey was still frozen, I don't mean cold, I mean literal ice chips on the "Slow roasted turkey breast" (clearly the same thing I buy, from a package) my partner did the "happy hour" deals. His taco was 10/10 amazing but his burger was burnt but still eatable. As for the buffalo burger (pictured below) and cactus chips were terrible. The sandwich was completely burnt and cut apart and the chips came with absolutely no dip whatsoever. Highly disappointed for a "high class" restaurant. We didn't end up having to pay for our meals (just drinks, still $10 a drink). We did get a $50 gift card to give them a THIRD chance as both our previous were awful. When we'd order through skip during the pandemic it was delicious. I would honestly say mcdonalds is better than the last time we visited. I hope to be able to change this after using our gift card.

Was NOT impressed with my experience tonight (August 9 2021 5: 45pm-7: 25)
Waited an 50mins for my food and it was lukewarm and not tasty. Had the ""ultimate"" mac'n cheese. The pulled pork tasted burnt, and if there was cheese in it I'd be surprised. Wife had the poutine and it was cold and gravy was bland and made her ill. Sad as when i ordered it through skip the dishes, it was amazing. Won't be going back again. Would've rather gone to Bain's BBQ but they are closed on Mondays.

Server says juice isnnot included with kids meal when it clearly is written on the menu, had to order my 2 year old pop

8 people at a table during covid restrictions, manager went to socialize without saying anything.

Server argued with my wife about ordering ceaser salad vs whatever salad she brought to the table (But did end up bringing the correct salad for no upcharge just before we left).

A bit slow to get food for 2 adults and two kids (30min)

Edit: that's an unacceptable reply, there won't be a next visit.

My favorite place to enjoy a game a meal and a beverage. Service is amazing, view is exceptional, and the whole experience brings me back again

I reaaallly wanted to like this place but I just can’t! The service has always been wonderful, however, the food.not so much.

My fiancé and I visited not too long ago and our food was less than mediocre; my steak was so incredibly tough and well over cooked I couldn’t even cut it (mind you I did not get charged for this), but my fiancé’s sandwich was soggy and the meat was rubbery.

We’re always open to trying places again so I hope that things will get better with time!

Lots of empty tables yet wait to be greeted, seated, order taken and food served was extremely long! Had to flag help down constantly, felt like we were an imposition. Salad came with NO fruit as described. After waiting some time was finally able to get someone's attention, and told they were all out of fruit? Do not recommend this restaurant at all!
