Matlis Medical, Urgent Walk In Clinic, Sports Medicine

We went quite a few times to Matlis Medical and we were never disappointed. Yesterday my wife saw Dr. Koldorf, who is very knowledgeable and professional. He looked at my wife's chart before he saw her and realized how complicated her medical situation was. (One of her conditions is not at all common but Dr. Koldorf knew exactly what he was talking about.) Even though it was busy Sunday at the walk-in clinic he took his time to listen to her, consult her and ask pertinent questions. Then he recommended investigations and treatment. Now, one day later, my wife is feeling better and on her way towards recovery.

We have been going to this clinic for more than 5 years now. All the doctors (Dr. Matlis and Dr. Koldorf especially) are nice and patient and carefully listen to patients. Not even one bad experience.
Reception staff are average same as all other places but that’s not a problem since the doctors are awesome.

I had a great experience at this clinic, fast and efficient and really listened to what I was asking which is sometimes hard to find. Receptionist was very nice and quick, understood everything I was saying. The doctor at this clinic was amazing, so attentive, so patient and smart, really listened and helped. Best walk in clinic I’ve been to for a while. I have for the first time had the pleasure to meet Dr. Donna Gasparro who is the most amazing person I have ever met as a professional and a human being, my consultation was amazing, she is a very caring, who listens and truly cares for her patients. A really excellent experience! I will highly recommend this clinic to everyone I know!

Dr Steven Matlis is the best among the best, to say the least. I recently immigrated here for my masters and was very worried about using the healthcare facility for a cyst on hand. At matlis medical center I could see a doctor within 15 min and Dr matlis even scheduled the procedure to be done on the same day so I don't have to visit again. Dr Matlis politely and extensively explain the procedure and any complications I might face going forward and even wrote me an recommendation to get extensions for my mid term paper so that I can rest my hand. He is a gem of person because a doctor not only need to have good knowledge but also should have good people skills and Dr Matlis excel in both.
All the staff at the clinic were very friendly too, they were forbearing with me (Because I don't know anything so was asking a lot of questions and needed help with like everything). They did everything with a big smile which make me feel welcomed.
Kudos to Matlis Medical Center for carrying the Canadian spirit which I was promised before immigrating here and was finally able to witness myself.

Here is a clinic with less waiting time, generally less than 30 minutes. The doctors are good but not too welcoming and I suppose that is because of being busy. For myself I had concerns and I wanted to have blood work but doctor told me it is not necessary and just gave me medication. For flue, catching cold and this general concerns just recommend them

Wonderful staff and Dr's. I showed up as they were closing, and even though they could have turned me away, they listened to me and accommodated me and were absolutely wonderful.

First time at this clinic. I can't say enough about Dr. Donna Gasparro. She has an incredible bedside manner - so warm and attentive. She gave me time to speak and did a thorough history and exam. She seems to genuinely care for the well-being of her patients. An absolute gem.

This doctor is very knowledable and is very dedicated to serving his community. He is the only one in the area that is going above and beyond for his patients, so please be considerate when seeking medical help. If you can manage without or find alternative care - do that. Truly a blessing amidst such post-pandemic chaos within Ontario's healthcare system.

The male doctor here only has a couple of years experience and is not helpful when you are in pain. He says he can’t perscribe certain medicines because their street value is too high and because they’re too addictive from his point of view. So he’ll prescribe a much lower potency pain killer like Advil or Tylenol. Better off going to emergency even for mild, moderate to high pain levels. The receptionists are very arrogant and rude as well and not nice women to work with

Went here last year to have the stitches in my arm taken out and the doctor was kind enough to see me right away, even when the clinic was about to close for the day. I saw 2 different doctors from this clinic and both were very knowledgeable and kind. 10/10 would recommend

The doctors working there are generally ok but the receptionist are the absolute worst. Stay away.

Terrible service. The receptionist Michelle couldn't answer basic questions, disconnected me and then put me on hold every time I tried to call back. Very unprofessional

By far the worst walk in clinic! I have watched the two receptions be super rude to every single person who has walked in. They have also slammed the phone on at least three callers since I’ve walked in. Other patients waiting have also mentioned how rude these two girls have been when speaking to patients. Young old it hasn’t made a difference. There attitude towards patients has been absolutely disgusting and degrading. If your elderly and hard of hearing or have an accent expect to be spoke to like absolute garbage!

Now on to wait time for urgent care. Now I completely understand it’s a crazy time and walk ins are busy but there was three people ahead of me that were all in the waiting room with me no one was in. I have been waiting almost two hours and yet everyone before me was only in with the dr for like 15 mins so I’m not sure how 45 minutes of appointments took a total of almost 2 hrs? Plus getting verbally assaulted by reception.

Lastly, I came with my sister who was attacked by a patient at work, not severely so just enough to get checked out. I came to accompany her for support as she was shaken up and when she was finally called I. The reception screamed only patient! Which I can completely understand but being polite and mentioning that from the beginning would have been excellent.

The patients whom felt the same way as us on their way out laughed and looked at us and sarcastically wished us luck as they clearly felt like the wait and visit was a complete waste of time!

I would literally suggest literally going any where else! I wouldn’t bring a dying rat here! I wish I could post videos to show how rude the reception has been.

The only positive note was the 15 minute apt with the male dr was pleasant. I would still never step foot back in this place again!

I am very happy I’ve choosen to attemd this particular clinic. Good attitude and professionalism. I attended this clinic just before their closing time but the doctor agreed to cusult me and stayed a bit afrer work. I was really feeling not too good. 5 star rating for this clinic and the doctor. We are traveling in Canada last weekend. My daughter had a dislocated elbow in accident. She was in pain and crying. We did not know exactly what was wrong, so we saw the Dr. Matlis. Dr. Matlis was very kind and professional and fixed the issue quickly. My daughter was very happy after Dr. Matlis treatment. And Dr. Matlis did not charge us for the visit. We are so appreciated for his professional treatment and kindness. Thank you very much Dr. Matlis and his team.

Terrible receptionist. Wouldn't even let me finishing talking. After knowing it's my first time visting, she gave me a huge sigh.felt like it was waisting her life talking to me. Such a big disappointment…

Can't say enoighbgood about Dr Matlis and team. Courteous, efficient, and effective. They're all you can ask for!

Best clinic in the GTA by far - Dr. Matlis has a superb team here at Matlis (admin included). Any doctor here is honestly great, I started coming as a walk-in patient a few years ago, since their hours were amazing and worked best for my schedule. Since then I've been accepted as a patient here but I've seen almost all the docs on different occasions, Dr. Gasparro (amazing) and Dr. Koldorf. Great doctors that are very caring and patient. They're responsive and will get back to you as quickly as they can, even with call backs and followups. They've been super agile with COVID and I'm a bit upset that a lot of people know about this clinic. Some patients travel from outside of the GTA (most clinics are still only doing virtual doc.appointments only), so they're busier than usual atm - but I cannot recommend a better clinic!

Terrible front desk lady. Rude, likes to order people to do things rather than asking nicely. She has mental issues. She allowed the two in front to go into the room together but refused me when it was my turn and enforced 1 person can go in a room, even it was my husband was trying to help translate. Not coming back.

Receptionist and doctor I saw today were exceptional. The doctor was so professional, knowledgeable, and knew exactly what he was doing, I was seriously impressed. I also feel spoiled, I've never in my life waited less than an hour and a half at a walk-in clinic until today. We are so lucky this place exists, the only regret I have is not finding this place sooner. Thank you for existing!

I am very pleased by the care and attention I have gotten from Dr. Matlis. The front desk team is also friendly and responds quickly. I will continue to be a patient for many years to come. Amazing experience overall and would recommend anyone to visit the clinic!

Dr. Amir Koldorf is a great doctor, and a genuinely good person. I came in with a knee injury that he accurately diagnosed, the imaging confirmed exactly what he suspected, and he made an excellent recommendation for a physiotherapist. But above all, he was kind and courteous throughout the visit and follow ups. I can't recommend him enough.

Dr Donna Gasparro has restored my faith in family doctors. She's genuinely caring and will actually listen to my issues and concerns. I wish all family doctors strived to be as real as Dr Gasparro.

Dr Jamkhou is also great. Young but proactive and will call me back in record doctor-timing!

EDIT: One of the front staff members is awful. She was really rude and cut me off. Other than that this is a great place.

Amazing staff - after contacting 3 hospitals for NO help I decided to try my last option and call this walk - in to get some advice and they lady on the phone got my info IMMEDIATELY and got the Doctor on the phone to assist me. Thank you

This clinic kept on practicing Medicine during the Covid times and didn't turn its back on patients when so many others did.

The receptionist did her job efficiently and the doctor was very friendly and professional. She made me feel at ease and cared for.

I visited this clinic twice. Each time the service was excellent. The receptionist was very professional. Dr. Donna Gasparro was truly amazing. She was Very knowledgeable and I could tell right away that she cares about her patients. She went above and beyond with her help. She is very patient and very attentive. Dr. Matlis was very professional. The receptionist was nice. The whole process was very fast and efficient. They have an onsite testing facility for some basic testing before sending to the lab. So you get some sort of result/assurance before the normal long wait.

I visited this Clinic several times in emergency, they are very professional and helpful, Doctor Matlis is more than a specialist he is majition, he diagnosed my sickness that I was suffering for years. It is a drugstore attached to the Clinic, they are great too. Thank doctors, drugstores and clinic employees.

Great people, very convenient location and open every day. The doctors are very nice and polite, they listen and explain everything carefully. The girls at the receptions are so nice and always with a smile. Great professionals, I recommend this walk-in clinic to anyone living in the area.

Usually visit this walk in clinic in the evening and my experience has always been fine. Well today my husband and I came in as our family doctor was away. Horrible experience! They really need to invest in a pleasant receptionist. She makes no eye contact with patients and is disrespectful and rude. I was told the wait time would be an hour. Well two hours in and we have not been called in. What a difference in reception from day and night. Won't be returning again.

I have had a great experience with this clinic. Dr. Matlis is very attentive and professional. I needed to get stitches and if it wasn't for him, I would've waited 4-5 hours at the emergency hospital.

I saw Doctor Gasparro for abdominal pain and she was phenomenal. I havent seen a doctor like her in so long.very very compassionate, caring and professional. She listened to all my concerns and explain to me all the medical information that I needed to know.she is a prime example of how doctor's should be acting

I went to this walk-in clinic to do the 2nd step of my TB skin test. I was told the 1 step testing would be $30, which isnt bad at all. I returned after 2 days to get my test looked at, and was informed that it would be an additional $30 for my result. I was not told it was 30$ for the shot, and 30$ for the results (my family doctor is an one time fee of 20$ for the test including the results). I told the receptionist I was not told about this additional cost at my initial visit, or I would've went somewhere else. The only thing I got was "I dont know who was the receptionist was when you came, so are you going to pay or go somewhere else? " (going somewhere else would lead to a test fee at this point). That miscommunication basically puts a person in a 'have to pay' situation, especially for something like a TB test where you have 48-72 hours to get results. No sorry for the miscommunication, just a cold response. The doctor who did my shot and Dr. Matlis who did looked at my result were very well spoken and nice, but the lack of professionalism and communication with their receptionist is this clinic major flaw. Will not be returning to this clinic, and I would rather drive 45mins to go to my family doctor where the receptionist explains services/fees fully and politely.

The staff at Matlis Medical were very friendly and Dr. Tong was great. He explained things well and answered all my questions. Would definitely go back.
