Everything was going well until staff indicated you cannot talk during the movie. Really.even making an effort to speak in a hushed voice this became a complaint. Peeps got to chill here. It was like the third reich

Amazing ambience and shows a tonne of classic films as well as art and lower budget films that might go under your radar if you stuck to huge franchised theatres. Literally the best environment to watch a movie in! Reasonably priced especially if you buy a membership! Makes for an amazing and easy date night paired with drinks at House of Targ which is right across the street. I cannot recommend visiting this piece of Ottawa history enough. It's my favorite place on earth.

8 year old birthday party. Kids had a ball. Great venue for events. Love the 'preserved' vintage feel. Brings back memories. The theater itself is a little shabby but that speaks to it's uniqueness. Loved the comfy couch and arm chairs.

It's nice to go watch something different. It's a relatively cheap activity, too.

This is a great old school theatre with excellent snacks and a cool atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the popcorn was really good.

Very nice vintage theatre that gives you a classic cinema experience. Seats are comfortable.

In a world full of "huge" and "more" it's nice to find places that bring us back down to our community roots. Don't expect your standard "am I in Toronto or Montreal Cineplex" cinema, instead you'll enjoy a good movie in a unique space while encouraging local businesses. I fully recommend.

One of my favourite places in Ottawa. The interior is gorgeous, the popcorn is top-notch, and they even have couches that are great for folks on a date or a few friends (show up early if you want one, these get claimed FAST).

Highly recommend that anyone who lives in Ottawa visits at least once, but in particular I recommend it to visitors looking to take a break from sightseeing. The big theatre chains are more or less the same across the country - if you're from out of town and want to catch a flick, check out this unique local cinema!

Support independent cinema! Their $14 annual membership is an awesome deal that gets you into all movies for $8, plus includes member-only showings and special events like the Oscars.

As their website says, get there early! Small snack bar (with great popcorn), previews start right at showtime and the feature starts 5mins later:)

Very nice theater! The theater helps make a nice movie watching atmosphere. Staff were also really nice and joked around with us before the movie.

I go here a lot. I wish they would turn the heat higher or get a new heating system as it's very cold sitting there in the winter. The sound system i feel isn't totally clear. Just wanted to share this in the hopes one or both of these things might be in line for an upgrade.
