McCarthy Uniforms

The service is excellent, I bought two outfit dresses for my daughter, one I took and one was on order, within two days the shipment arrived!

I visited the store last week. Totally expected it would be very busy and it was definitely my mistake to wait until the end of summer to take my child for a couple of items! That being said, used the website to join the virtual queue, received a text telling me when to come in and that I was fourth in line, but then when I went into the store, I was told by the staff there was about an hour wait as I would be placed at the end of the line. I said that does not make sense as it contradicts what the website says and the texts I was receiving but she said it was not fair for me to "wait at home" while others waited in the store. Ummmm, if I had known this I would have arrived at the store earlier. I told her what would the point of the online queue be if I arrive and and am at the end of the line and she said "Well it might seem complicated but that is how it works". Your website says, and I quote "1-join the virtual line from anywhere, 2-wait from wherever you prefer, 3-receive wait time updated on your phone, 4-get notified when it is your turn to be served". That is what I did! I totally get it was a busy week and I have no problem waiting but do not have an online queue system if you are not going to honour it. It is not "complicated", it is instead pointless. Most upsetting to me was how dismissive and condescending this staff was. Instead of apologizing for a glitch in your process, she spoke down to me and embarrassed me in a crowded store, like I was at fault! I have no choice to buy uniforms from you but this was beyond disappointing.

We get our work uniforms through McCarthy. We are a large school board. We order our uniforms online and they are shipped to the schools. Ordering is fairly straightforward, but the shipping is horrendous, you should not have to wait months to receive a few items. The quality of the uniforms is not that good, and their prices are high. The safety shoes are very poor quality and start falling apart within a few months. As school board employees, We are forced to deal with McCarthy, however if we had a choice of going elsewhere we would.

Today I visited this location, and there is excellent customer service. Especially staff Sarah, who helped us in a friendly way, always with a smile on her face.

Long line up outside in the heat and sun; long wait; not many workers; and the hours should be long than what they are; and they should be open everyday.

The store has staff that serve one family at a time. You walk in to a desk, they ask for what you need and then go to get it. You can then try it on, ask for more, different etc. Once done you check out. Because of this personal service, waiting outside is long. No browsing. I got there on a Saturday morning 30 minutes before they open and a line was already forming. Hopefully this helps others as it is a fairly unique and different shopping experience.

Waited over an hour to get in the store, staff were stressed and short with customers, not a good system.people all looked very frustrated, disappointed and I just wanted to get it over with too!

Had to wait outside because there where to many people in the store but as soon as someone left everyone went in and that was about 20 people lines where incredibly long, understaffed and everything is extremely overpriced. Very disappointed

This place is ridiculous! They change their work hours as they go without any notice. Rude staff close door in your face. And online shopping is impossible because unless you spend over $150. Ridiculous! Nothing is being done to help avoid this nonsense. Came here three times with no luck.

One of the most annoying setups for purchasing I've run into. Not sure if this is their way of keeping you in the store but it's completely unnecessary. An employee will demand your name and number upon entry so that you can wait for another employee to help you get clothes. Then you wait again in a line that rivals a Disney park ride just to pay. Too much staff doing the wrong things and too few at the register. It shouldn't take 1.5 hours to pickup two pants and two shirts.
Highly suggest you order online instead of subjecting yourself to this. Parents don't have time to waste just waiting.

Terrible customer service - arguably the worst of any establishment we have ever been. This year we ordered most stuff online as I wanted to avoid the store at all costs. Unfortunately we needed to return and swap a couple items. You are immediately greeted by an angry manager /supervisor. They are always short staffed, which I can forgive, but the way they treated us (and everyone around us) - rude and disrespectful. I guess when you are a monopoly (thus we have no choice to purchase our uniforms elsewhere) - you do not need to treat people properly. Best solution to this is for a competitor to pop up.

I go to Brebeuf College but they don’t sell the blazer anymore which I really wanted for the winter uniform

I understand the long wait during the back to school season but the staff are impatient
Kids are always growing and these uniforms are too expensive to be repurchased often. It is hard to judge what size to buy immediately as sometimes you want to size up without it looking too baggy
Our appointment barely took 40 minutes for a week set of uniforms.
I can see the staff's attitude as we deliberate between sizes.

Too expensive can't afford it

Rip off. High way robbery from the TDSB for school uniforms. Specially during the COVID They should give it for free or half price.

Too many customers inside the store. COVID protocols are not met properly. Watch out!

The sales person was very helpful and assisted to get the right uniform for my Kid. Overall was a good experience.

We arrived at the Scarborough store 5: 49 and the front door was locked. Staff ignore my repeated knocking. We got in after a customer was exiting. Unfriendly cashiers told me the store is closed but it was 5: 52, the store closes at 6pm. After driving 30 minutes to get to the only place on earth that sells Brebeuf College uniform I was not going to be bullied by these rude staff.
The worst of all was the outrageous prices for uniform. Two pairs of pants cost $126. Total ripoff and not acceptable. Somebody do something about it!

Unacceptable monopoly in schools uniforms in XXI century: outdated business model, waiting 20 min for sales person to pick the items you're looking for, overpriced clothes - 2,3 times more expensive than the same product without a school logo. Not happy that parents are forced to buy uniforms from only one store that never does sales.

Customer service at it's best, the young lady trinityn was very helpful and informative, both my son and daughter was very pleased and appreciates the help, Trinityn showed great patience with all the fittings from both kids, they both will be attending Sir Ernest Macmillan juniors school.

Very expensive store with very poor quality uniforms for students.
I don't really understand why this company has the monopoly on the market and why we have to buy this mandatory clotheslines.

I visited McCarthy today to pick up uniforms for my son.
Firstly, the customer service was great I'm not going to take any confidence away from the kids that make their summer money working for McCarthy.
The store is promoting three types of uniform bundles that make no sense what so ever.
Where's the deal? Everything is still regular overpriced. Then you give % discount that can't be used until October?
For example-
If you buy 6 items for regular price.
There is a bundle that has 10 items.
So you add 4 more items thinking you'll save a buck, but it's all at regular price.
I'm sure McCarthy buys from China.
That means buy cheap and sells expensive.
We as parents need to get a petition going to open up the market on school uniforms.
The transportation market, food delivery market, Telecommunication market.
I can go on and on. My point is we're talking about clothing here people. Yes clothes.

Absolutely terrible:
- Long queue time (both at store and on phone)
- Overpriced due to lack of competition
- Low-quality products
- Generally the poster child of terrible capitalism

Their pants are ridiculous. Either too small or too bulky. My son who wears, regular 30 in his waist can't find anything that fits him

Very mediocore service, outrageous prices. God knows why this collusion between McCarthy and the school board that allows them to have a monopoly in the uniform market and rip students off, is allowed, or not considered completely unethical. The fact that the most commonly used words in their reviews is "monopoly" speaks volumes about the practice they are engaging in. I suggest going to your school-run used uniform sale, or sourcing your uniforms used from previous students and private sellers, unless you enjoy throwing away your money in exchange for extremely overpriced clothing and poor customer service.

The stuff is really nice and helpful but they often run out of uniform pieces though they do have the option of ordering it with free shipping.

Much better experience than I had when I was in school, we had to get our uniforms in downtown Toronto. Thank God there is a Scarborough location. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the sizes and grabbing the things we needed. They had a couple options for what your child would need for the new school start or a returning child just needing an upgrade. It can get pricey if you are just starting out so don't be too alarmed, also check if your child's school offers gently used uniforms to help save money

I've had to use this company before and actually switched schools to avoid it. Now my son is entering high school and we're sadly yet again forced to use this terrible, over priced monopoly.
Not looking forward to the next 4 yrs of giving this awful store abundant amounts of my money, but have zero choice.
Let's just hope they have the uniform in stock, but my hope are realistically low on that, given past experiences with this awful store.

Great service! The staff is quite knowledgeable and eager to help. They know their product well, and make great recommendations!

I found my school uniform but its too expensive, and the bad thing is you can't find uniform from different place you have to pay for it.

Service is EXCELLENT! Lady who checked us in greeted us with a smile, young lady that took care of us was very patient and friendly, manager was attentive. HOWEVER, the quality control of the garments is unacceptable. Too many discrepancies in sizes when comparing exactly the same garment. This would make it impossible for me to order anything online with confidence. The items that we did purchase seem to be of decent quality however sizing is very inconsistent and tricky. I brought this to the manager's attention who seems genuinely troubled by it and noted that she would be passing on the issue. Great store and staff - clothing sizing questionable.
