I called ahead of time and the receptionist told me to come and when I arrived they turned me away. Saying they were full. She told me to come before 8: 00pm and it’s 7: 43pm. Bad service and no empathy. I would not recommend them

Worst place ever. No one should come here regardless of the situation. Waited 3 hours to talk to some dr.chu that’s unprofessional n doesn’t want to help people fight their sickness. I was sent home to let my sickness go away by it self which Dr.chu said it could take up to 2 weeks and there for I can’t work for 2 weeks coz this dr doesn’t want to give me any medicine. Someone should check where he got his degree from n take it away from him.

The lady at the reception should'nt be there. She does not exude customer service at all. Rude and no telephone manner. Doctors were great but front desk is a downfall. I just wanted to add, this review pertains to MCI @ Bathurst and Steeles location. On the other hand, Woodbridge branch has the best service ever!

Get there as early as you can and call ahead if you can. This place gets busy and understands if they will be able to see you. The doctors are kind and informative. Everyone is just trying to do their job. It’s not always the happiest place there and the wait is long but hey it’s a walk in clinic.

I’ve been going there for sometime, I’ve never had a problem the reception is very nice but you do have to wait a long time it is a walk in remember, I finally got a Doctors who was taking knew patients he’s great

Went there this evening because the itchy red bumps after dinner around neck. Because it is only around neck, I am not sure this is allergy (no allergy history for food), sun burn (only 20 minutes walk in April, not much sunshine) or other causes. So I went to the clinc for doctor's advise in case it is a serious allergic incident. I arrived there around 7: 30pm and have been told only doctor 'Chau' in the office and did not take any walk in. I told the nurse I just need doctor's advice for whether I need to go to hospital. Around 7: 48PM, the doctor finished all his patients and nurses finally got the chance spoke to the doctor about my case. The doctor's answer was "he is off at 8: 00pm and has other stuff to do, so he do not want to spend 5 minutes to have a look whether my case is emergency or not".
I feel so bad for Mr. "Chau" to choose family doctor as his career. He does not care about patients. He even did not come out of his office to check whether this is an emergency or not. Simply tell the nurse "she can go to emergency room" without even meeting me. This is not only waste health resource.

Dr. Mahrous needs to get checked up with a mental doctor i think.

If she spends more than a minute for you or looks at you you are so lucky.

Although she is my family dr she charged me $40 for givving a refferal letter to physiotherapist.

I went to this clinic today and was very disappointed. The front desk and the trainees are very nice, and the waiting time is not too long. I thought it would be a pleasant consultation, but it was not the case. The doctor ended my consultation very quickly, and said that I had too many questions, and it was very difficult to prescribe a prescription. They quickly sent me away without giving me any explanation or instructions. Finally understand why the score is so bad.

They never answer the phone, if they do they put you on hold and forget about you.
Today I asked them to have my doctor call me about an extremely urgent matter, they said the doctor won't call patients. I asked them to please give the doctor an urgent note, they said they would put it in her notes. I called twice afterwards, no one ever put a note.
I like my doctor, but the front desk staff is horrible.

I work in healthcare, so I am under no illusion how things work and how overwhelmed the system is. Our family is grateful for the care we receive and our family doctor. I just really need management to notice the one major downfall of this place. No one ever answers the phone. I know MCI has many locations, so maybe set up a call centre for all phone inquiries to streamline the process if receptionists are too busy here? I don't want to be bringing my sick children to the reception room just to have someone answer my request. I've tried the online appointment request function, which never worked. I've also tried to book online, but apparently the system can't find my family doctor or me (I sent an inquiry, so hopefully this will be resolved). Regardless, either have better phone service, or streamline online booking so patients can connect to their family physicians. Other than that, thank you for your work!

I've been here several times after hours because no appointment necessary.
Waited like walk in clinic then met doctors in an hour and I got prescription.
Doctors are knowledgeable and try to help your health issues.
Appreciate them for my health care.

Dr. Chu has always been good to me, but i've been trying for over a week just to make an appointment and NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE! One day, that's understandable, more than that means you're understaffing yourself and the people with deteriorating health waiting just to be heard are the ones suffering for it.

All these bad reviews about this same issue, with response from the owner or whoever about them wanting to fix it, it's not getting fixed. Do yourselves a favour and find a different doctors office this one won't give you the time of day.

With your reviews about to reach 1-star, it is shocking that this medical office hasn't made a modicum of effort to ensure that this place doesn't come off as a joke. Open at 9am, registration closed by 10am on a weekend. No phone response at any point during this opening hour. If this is some sort of art exhibit parodying how useless modern doctor's offices have become post-COVID, I must say I'm impressed with the accuracy of the portrayal. If it isn't, I have no empathy for staff lacking the skill to answer the phone at a professional rate. Allot the resources for better training and get it together. Embarrassing.

PS. If management intends to reply to this review, I strongly urge you to read the rest of your reviews before trying to make this a "me problem". This is fundamentally an issue with ownership and management.

I don’t know why whenever I call the clinic to make an appointment they never answer the phone. When my appintment is made for a specific time I always have to wait 15-20 minutes. For example if it is made for 1: 30pm I have to wait to 1: 40-1: 50pm. Why would I wait 20 minutes. If I should wait 20 lkmutes why didn’t they set up the appointment to delyaed time. People’s time is valuable yet in this clinic they really don’t care about it. Family doctors are fine but always they are on rush and busy. There is this persian woman I do not know her name is a very rude person. She should check with her manners. If she doesn’t like the job she is working she is welcome to leave.

The middle-aged lady named Irene is a RACIST. She wore headwear. While she was pretty nice to the white patient waiting ahead of me in line, she used an extremely rude attitude to me.
She first ignored what I said and repeatedly asked my purpose of visit, which I have already clearly told both her and the receptionist. Then I could clearly heard she asked me WHEN was my last physical examination. I told her the date. She asked the same question again. And I told her the date again. Then she thought I didn't understand English and impatiently yelled at me: "WHERE is your last examination" It's quite clear that she used the word "WHEN" for the first two times and she was trying to blame her wrong expression on me.
Later she said there wasn't my result in MCI's system, although I received a secured message from MCI that MCI has my result ready. However, finally it turned out that my result did exist in MCI's system. She just didn't want to search it.
Then she said she couldn't find my previous visit at MCI. However, later when she arranged me to another doctor, the new doctor shows me on the computer that my previous visit is clearly listed and all the details is clearly shown. I felt she was trying to make up all kind of stories to reject me from the clinic.
After all the rude questions and her attempts to tell lies, she left me hanging for half an hour and kept handling patients behind me in line. Finally she arranged me to another doctor.
The new doctor was pretty nice to me. He appreciated my preparation for the visit. He understood my situation and everything went so smoothly.
I appreciate the new doctor's attitude.
But Irene really irritated me. Especially when I found the difference in her attitude towards white patients and towards me. Irene and I are both Asians, I don't understand what kind of sense of inferiority it is that drives her to belittle people from the same ethnic group and suck up to the white.
After I left the clinic, I couldn't help replaying the scene again and again. I felt really terrible. I couldn't accept being bullied.

If I can book this clinic lower I would. Went into the doctors for swollen glands and fever to walk out with no medication. I got there at 8: 55am I was one of the top 10 and left at 11 there is only one doctor present. I seen the doctor I gave him a whole run down of my symptoms he swabbed my throat and strep came back negative. He said he can run a blood test if I’d like & I said OFCOURSE I repeatedly said I cannot sleep at night I wake up in pain in pain in pain! He said ok I can’t give you anything but mouthwash & he said when my lab test comes back he will treat m. I Okay I said can I at least have something that’s covered under my disability? He said he doesn’t know and gives me the paper for mouthwash and walks out. I ran out and had to ask him for the blood test and he said OH YA go into another room. No one calls me with no results no medication or even to check to see how I am. I went back in to only be told they only checked for ONE THING where I thought they would look for other possibilities as to why I feel like this. They said I would have to sit and wait for 10 ppl in front of me in order to get something for pain. I told her wow I didn’t know this clinic was bad. She said if you don’t like it you can go somewhere else. Tbh it could be a race thing. But the way they disregarded any requests and didn’t want to help knowing the doctor was sitting in his office as she asked for something to subdue the pain. Idk what to think. RUNNNNN DO NOT GO THERE I DONT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!

I have anaphylaxis allergies and I had reactions and I walked in with signs and I told the secretary about my conditions and I also explained the fact that I didn’t have my epi pen with me. She told me that the doctor cannot see me at first then I told her that I need to see the doctor because of my conditions really immediately then she said you have to wait.
I waited for along time my reactions were getting worse and my face was getting swallowed and I decided to call EMS and went to hospital
I could have died that day
They put my life in danger by making me wait longer there, did not follow the procedures properly
I was transferred to hospital

Look, I get that walk in appointments get cut off at a shockingly early time. If you’re not there when they open, you might not be able to get seen that day, which totally sucks, ESPECIALLY if you’re dealing with an emergency.

BUT. This isn’t an ER, so I kinda understand that they are trying to prioritize patients that have non-“emergency” needs who don’t want to clog up the ER &/or people who need tests ordered &/or medications refilled.

I especially appreciate Dr. Diena who has been exceptionally helpful and cognizant of my medical history, even with some lapses in visits. He has never failed to remember who I am, even with the hustle and grind that this profession entails.

Lastly, shout out to the receptionists who deal with difficult and upset individuals DAILY who expect nothing less than red carpet treatment, and yet still maintain their composure. The last time I was there, a guy was upset that he couldn’t move up his appointment to that day and yelled at the staff for not speaking French (even though he had no intention of speaking French to them and was just upset that they spoke in Tagalog to one another.)

I genuinely believe this place is doing the best they can, but I appreciate that everyone’s experience will be subjective.:)

I’m going to keep it short and simple.

A lot of people seems to be going through the same experience.

They never pick up their phone, and when they do it says they are closed for the day (even though I called at 9: 30). The receptionist is so rude and condescending. Its like they really don’t want you to come in. Honestly should just stop running this clinic and waste people’s valuable time.

Came at 7pm on Thursday evening, so it's 2h.before the closing. "We cannot accept any walk ins because of the line, please come tomorrow".
"Tomorrow, tomorrow. " is the only answer for any question you may ask.
Hippocratic Oath? Forget, just simply go to emergency if any other clinic is closed in your area and something is really bothering you.
An advice to the owners - you can remove "Walk In" and "We accept new patients" from the signs on top of the entrance, you can save on it.

The receptionist named “Monica” was so rude.she is there just to say “ we are not taking any patient”. Even she is not there to listen any single word and keep shouting on me. Really pathetic service by the clinic. On top of that, I forced to walk out without my treatment. I think clinics are made to help the people not to give patients hard time. I am so disappointed with the receptionist. With these many negative reviews, the head office should look into it.

Dr. Mahrous used to be great. Then covid hit and I wasn't able to go into the clinic, then I had to move far away and it became impossible. Another doctor sent a request to her to send a referral for me in November. It sat completely ignored for over a month because she wanted to see me first and nobody bothered to call me. I spent over a week calling them back and trying to get someone to actually help me and they set up a phone appointment. Dr. Mahrous almost didn't call me; I had to call her and she was extremely rude and rushed through the entire conversation and questioned me about why the other doctor didn't send the referral herself. She finally agreed to send the referral and I just found out THREE MONTHS LATER that she has referred me to the WRONG PLACE. I am beyond furious and will be looking for a new family doctor who actually cares about their patients.

I just got off the phone with a female receptionist to book an appointment with my family doctor, Dr. Chu on Monday, April 4th at 5: 10P. M. She was unable to pull up my file from her system using my first and last name for some odd reasons, then I gave her my birthdate. She did not want to accept my birthdate and demanded for OHIP number, but I reminded her that I am a regular client of Dr. Chu and do not understand why she was unable to find me using my first and last name as well as my birthdate. I was not feeling well, but I had to go search for my health card from my bed and her response was, "How hard was it to find your OHIP card, it wasn't that hard, was it? " I told her that I simply do not understand why she can't pull up my file using my first and last name, and her response was "Well, it's your responsibility to tell us your middle name too. It is your own middle name not mine. So you should know better if you are a regular client of ours" So I asked for her name, "No, you are going to create a problem with my name so I'll not give it to you. " then she hung up the phone on me. How rude and unprofessional was she to speak to her clients like this? I'll report her unprofessional mannerism to Dr. Chu and if this continues, will not visit their clinic again. So unprofessional and the most rude medical receptionist I've ever had to talk to. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC

OK, I get It, we are in a COVID situation here, but. Doctor was great. He resolved the "eyelash in the eye" situation quickly and with courtesy. (thank you, doctor). BUT. The receptionist advised me to make an appointment next time. I suggested that it is hard to plan for an emergency. She got defensive. The eyelash in the eye that caused the eye go red would hardly justify the visit to the overcrowded Emergency room, wouldn't it? A little better management would help us all, don't you think?

Doctors are all very good there / That's if you can ever get the front desk to pickup the phone to make appointment / never had this problem with the others girls they had there but these new ones omg the phone can ring off the hook no answer I have been there when its not busy and the one Filipina girl would not pick it up, / They don't even deserve one star / Problem I have noticed there lots of talking back and forth with the girls up front
Yesterday called five times mid afternoon all five times it rings off the hook

I came for a appointment in sweat shirt for a infection.had a 37° "fever" so I took ot off to cool down. The nurse the told me to put it back on because im naked.it's a long sports bra and pants past my belly button. This comment felt sexual and me extremely uncomfortable and I hope this person is corrected on future behavior

This clinic deserves NO STAR!

Me, my husband and my dad went there for my dad’s checkup (*for his ear). My dad accidentally answered ONE QUESTION WRONG! And they said the doctor can’t see him because of that. We decided to just go home, but i went back to ask one more time.if they can try to change it coz my dad misunderstood the question! And again, they said NO! And we ended up, like they’re suggesting a phone interview and i said okay! When the younger lady told the older lady, that we doesn’t have OHIP and insurance for my dad.she’s became angry. And, she was rude saying ~~then we need to pay $110 for it.and i said (YEAH! WE ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR THE $110!)

You’re both Filipino, I am too! I tried to talk to you in our own language (I asked if ‘filipina po ba? ’) and NICELY.hoping you could help us!

We are sooo sooo disappointed! Your clinic or top management should FIRE you!

And YES! I am really MAD, coz all i wanted is for my dad to be treated. I don’t want him to be treated like sh*t (like what you did to him, to us)

Doctor and staffs are nice. It does take awhile to wait to be seen by a physician, but it is a walk-in clinic so cannot expect no wait time. At least someone will see you for sure.

Unprofessional and rude service. Don’t recommend you to visit this clinic it’s just a waste of your time! They rarely answer on the phone and receptionist doesn’t not understand English properly, so it’s impossible to take an appointment anyway. Just to inform this MCI doesn’t deserve one star even. Unfortunately they don’t treat a people they make them nervous and worried!

My mother came here for an appointment and one of the nurses was extremely unprofessional and rude. She made remarks to my mother which were uncalled for. Gave my mother attitude towards her feeling unwell.why else would anyone else go to a walk-in clinic? Because they're feeling WELL? The receptionist and doctor went above and beyond to make my mother feel comfortable and understood. The nurses should go for more training on how to properly communicate with people in a friendly and professional manner.

I brought my children there on several occasions over the years and I have always had good luck with the doctors. Every time I found them to be knowledgeable, polite and caring. Yes lines there can be long sometimes but that's what you get when you just walk in instead of booking in advance with a family doctor.

This place has a rather high volume of patients so I can imagine how things can be tough both for doctors and receptionists. But everyone I've met there is putting a lot of effort in what they do and I think they do it well.

I went there with my daughter yesterday the dr in charge is dr chu he is very rough doctor he hurt my daughter (3 yrs old) when he check the throat and he gave the prescription (antibiotics) so i get the medication at shoppers the pharmacist ask me if my daughter have infection i think nothing bcoz the doctor he didn’t tell anything about infection bcoz this antibiotics that he prescribed is for general infection, i dont even know what to say. To conclude dont bring your kids to that doctor he may ruin your kids.

I got sick from the virus at the beginning of the New Years, felt awful, had to skip work. I was lucky to see Dr. Nevine Mahrous at the MCI doctor’s Office located at 800 Steeles Ave. West. Dr. Mahrous was very attentive to my symptoms and prescribed me with medicine that helped to recover fast. I’m very much satisfied with the services of this walk-in clinic. Very friendly medical staff.

Going to MCI doctors at Main Exchange since March 2015. The old, rude, insulting, receptionists have ALL BEEN SENT HOME!
Wonderful, sweet, caring receptionists have now been hired. Getting appointments is easy. Yes, just like all other walk-ins at the GTA the wait period is long especially after 4 pm. The best time to visit this clinic is before 3 pm (wait is less). This clinic provides BLOOD LAB SERVICE TOO! You don't need to go elsewhere for blood work.
They have the BEST DOCTORS I have come across! Professional & caring! This clinic runs 7 days a week & the family doctors come 5/6 days a week, it's super easy to get in contact with the family doctor or get an appointment here!

Came here twice for a TB test and subsequent reading. Receptionists were rude both times and gave little attention to patients standing at their window. Had to coax the receptionist into letting me get a TB test until a helpful doctor swooped in and told her not to be picky.

I'm a traveler here in toronto who attended the clinic to be not taken seriously multiple times about my respiratory issues. Used my travelers insurance to be just as qualified as anyone else to see a doc. I visited for a third time with my wife who also had to seek medical attention. There was only one this day; turned Dr Asa Chu A. K. A.doctor do-little. I asked him to quickly listen to my chest as I feel concerned that I put alot of time into this and simply want to have his attention for two minutes about whether or not my chest sounds clear vs congested. He literally showed no care towards what I was saying. I shared that I feel the other two doctors were negligent and misdiagnosed me because I was told I would get better and I am MUCH WORSE.can not breathe at all. Worst practice out of the whole world that I've visited.

Once I came to get treated and it took ONE hour longer to see a doctor due to arguing in the queue. Utterly disgusted. Other than one doctor (Dr Zeev Diena) which has always been decent with me, this place horrible.

I feel like I'm in a McDonald's version of a health clinic! Trying to look professional but not. When I'm finally recovered, im gonna be investigating where I can take my complaints to.

Worst experience at a doctors office. Barely got into the office and was already being glared at by the receptionist.

When I walked up to the counter, no greeting or reply to my greeting. She asked me what I wanted and I replied to see a doctor.

She kissed her teeth and took a breath. Then abruptly told me they weren't taking any new patients that day. It was 3 pm and they close at 4 pm. I understand that in order to close at 4 pm they have stop accepting patients. But did the receptionist have to be so rude!

If you don't like people then don't work in a job where you must interact with us.

Six secretaries and only one doctor. There were five people in line and it took over an hour. I came at 9 am.
