My husband an d I've been a member of MedCan for almost 15 years. I have been attending Medcan for my annual health assessment and Year-Round Care For Individuals for years. The service and quality of care continues to go down hill. Today I did visit Medcan Oackville location to get simple PAP test with Dr. Navneet Randhawa. FIrstly she was late by 20 minutes. My appointment was booked for 30 minites at 3 pm. I met Dr. Navneet Randhawa at 3.20 pm (at 3.30 pm I was out of her room) and her first question was: " Why did not you go to your Family Doctor but book appointment at Medcan? Good question - as we are paying to Medcan annual fees (over $2400/yr) and have all our medical records including Annual Health Assessments stored with Medcan for over 15 yrs! Then MD Navneet Randhawa was in a rush and as result this MD. Navneet Randhawa scratched and wounded my the outer mucous membrane - it caused enormous pain so I can’t sit or stand without pain now. It looks that they recruit inexperienced doctors without practice who does not care about patients. During appointment MD. Navneet Randhawa did ask me what country I am originally from? What kind of question is this one from MD? I am going to complain about this MD Navneet Randhawa. This is the worst ever experience with Family MD in Canada.

This was easily one of the best medical experiences I have ever had in 36 years in Canada, and I was born right here in Toronto.

Dr. Sean Maclachlan is fantastic, super professional, and friendly.

My family has a dedicated care membership and we come to Medcan for annual 6 hour comprehensive health assessments.

I was considering moving to the USA to access better healthcare because of the poor state of Canadian healthcare, but Medcan has changed my mind about that.

This place is fantastic! I would highly recommend to anyone interested in expedited and thorough medical care. I had an excellent experience with Dr. V. Wong and also Jill Furnival (genetic counsellor). They really care about patients and tailor care to your needs.

Certain tests of course after they took out payment.over all was a very very disappointing visit. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I am now looking into the Cleveland clinic in hopes for Better results - don’t waste your money at medcan ppl. I assure you - you’ll be disappointed as we are

Life-changing event occurred in 2013, and since then I’ve never been happy because of pain and a few other issues. If my current lifestyle was the same in 2013, I would’ve taken that opportunity to go to this clinic sooner…. I had a smile the entire time I was there. I truly felt that I was finally getting the care I deserve. My first visit. I walked in limping and walked out without a limp due to a few stretching exercises and I’ve gone to to many different physio‘s, and saw many doctors due to my injuries. Going to places that sees and deals with many different demographic with many different issues only helps to treat any patient that walks in. Thank
You to the physiotherapist and to the doctor who truly change my perspective.

The receptionist lost my requisition form. They had to call my clinic to retrieve it. While waiting here, the mammogram machine broke. They forgot to inform a patient in the waiting area. She ended up waiting 40min in the waiting area. When she went to the receptionist to reschedule, the receptionist keeps calling other people on the phone to reschedule instead of helping her. She was patient all this time until she was fed up waiting at the receptionist. I don’t think I’ll come back here again.

I had an excellent experience at my first annual Medcan health assessment the other day. I was pleased with all the staff and health professionals I interacted with. Dr. Jason Abrams, was excellent: informative, easy to talk to, and thorough. Dr. Abrams provided all the time that I needed to answer the many questions I had over the age-related issues I am currently facing. I am pleased with my decision to undergo the assessment.

Recently had my first Annual visit and it was a fantastic experience! The facility is absolutely lovely and the medical professionals on staff are friendly and punctual! Everything was completed in a timely manner. If your looking for top notch medical care I would highly recommend!

Doctors and staffs are nice and friendly there, but had really bad experience with their Client Engagement specialist. Didn’t tell me about corporation discount when I try to purchase annual assessment and later when I found out and called back to ask front desk, the person blamed me not to proactively asking if there is any corporate discount. I got charged twice as I supposed to pay, and I am still waiting for my refund. It is already 2 weeks and I have to keep following up with them and still no one contacted me yet regarding to this issue, even they said they will contact me shortly!

They take $4,000 from you seconds but can't bother to pick up the phone or provide results in a timely fashion.

I paid for year round care and every single time I call the 24/7 hotline, I am sent to a voicemail.

I paid for a year round assessment and 6+ weeks later the results are still not available despite their 3 week guarantee.

It seems they are good at taking your money but absolutely disorganized and bleeding in the backend.

Absolute garbage. I had an assessment done last year. It was fine. Don’t really think it was worth the money. They didn’t bother doing the cardio test because the treadmill was broken? Who knows. Regardless, the assessment came and went. Then I found out I was getting charged for an “annual” plan which I never agreed to. I’ve sent them multiple emails. They said someone would be in touch and yet they never actually looked into it. This company is a money grab and I will never use them again. Beware!

Dr Behki is hands down the best doctor I have ever had. Most of her nursing team is incredible. Dr Behki takes her time she is thorough and on top of my large health file and all my moving parts. If it wasn’t for the one nurse I had been working with, my experience would be 5 star. I love it here and I love the people who work there so much, I always feel uplifted there and it’s nice having a coffee in the waiting room.:) I’ve seen many many doctors in my life but never have I met someone who cares so much as dr Behki. She not only understands the body but also understand mental illnesses that can arise from past experiences. She has all the patience in the world and I’m forever grateful for that. It’s hard to find a good doctor in this country and I really do feel like I won the lottery with her. But there is some serious disorganization on the back end which is becoming very clear to me. I wish I could do a 5 star but that internal team needs to sit down and figure out how to manage their broken processes and missed referrals and missed notes.

Use medcan if you like to pay $2000 a year to be told to go to a walk-in clinic if you want faster results. Call medcan if you like being transferred around to 5 different departments before finding the right person. Request a specialty doctor with medcan if you enjoy being told that they are understaffed due to covid. (Which would be understandable if each patient wasn't paying $2000 a year just to be a member). Not cute.

This was my first time doing the full health assessment and I am beyond amazed at the level of professionalism and customer service at Medcan. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the front desk up until you leave and say goodbye to each health specialist. I had my assessments reviewed by Dr Behki. She was so patient with all my questions and took time to answer them in full detail. She really listened to all of my concerns and never once made me feel silly for having ridiculous questions. She is encouraging, positive, attentive, and very experienced. The tests are so comprehensive and I like that you get to speak to a different specialist for each test they do. Pricey, but totally worth it for your health! What a great experience that was. Will be coming back and referring my family too.

Just completed my 2nd Annual Health Assmt. I had a great experience both times. Clean facilities, attentive staff, customer care, good snacks and of course rapid results and consultations. I like my doctor, Dr. Alan Monavvari as well. Very professional and easy to talk to. FYI, I am healthy, no issues and the company pays for it, so that also might add to my positive feelings about my experience at this clinic. I will be back next year.

I am giving a second star because there are some good people that work there. The reality of the organization as a whole is quite different, and so, we decided to take our business elsewhere.

MedCan has too many members for the capabilities of their organization. The result is discontinuity in care, dropped referrals, unreliable filing, broken telephone in the organization, and general confusion. The result of the above is poor patient care, and that leads to, as experienced by our friends, life-threatening situations. This company needs an overhaul in its value systems and leadership - they aren't taking it seriously.

Absolutely terrible experience at Refine by Medcan. I had a biopsy on a lump on my foot and was left hospitalized and with a severe infection. Dr. Goldhar did not give me any after care instructions, just told me to go about life as normal after the procedure. For almost a month afterwards, I have been been in and out of the hospital at least 7 to 8 times, developed cellulitis and a severe foot infection which made me lose mobility and become unable to walk (at 24 years old!) I had to have IV antibiotics administered for 6 days by an at home nurse. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN!

I go every year for my Annual Assessment and right from the moment they greet you I have had great experiences. The Doctors and others have been extremely caring and professional. I would definitely recommend them.

I did my annual check up with Dr. Greenspan. He is super caring and helped me tremendously on my first annual visit. In the 2 weeks since my visit he recommended some changes and it has made a huge difference already. I found that he is very caring for the people that he analyzes. Medcan is unbelievable. I also joined the dedicated care team and I was lucky enough to have a consultation with Dr. Burnstein and he is also very caring and careful looked at all my results and has set me up with some specialists. The decision to go to Medcan was excellent.thanks to everyone there they made it a great experience and everyone is very knowledgeable in their fields. Thanks again to Dr Greenspan and Dr Burnstein and all the staff at Medcan. Antonio Iavarone

The worst medical experience I've had to date. They are only interested in treatments that are billable. This is NOT a clinic that is interested in wellness - only interested in driving revenues. They will not help you if they can't bill you for it. AVOID at all costs.

Mansplaining, misdiagnosis, a lack of patient confidentiality.

I had an appointment with Dr. Jonathan Levy.

I did my intake with a nurse who I explained to that I had been experiencing orange & purple discolouration on my eye lids. There are no raised bumps.

When Dr. Levy came into the room he said that he had discussed my symptoms in the hallway with the nurse (which seemed odd). He then took a very brief look at my eyelids before quickly saying I have xanthelasma which manifests as orange raised bumps.

I explained that I do not have any raised bumps and that my eyelids look nothing like what he was telling me I have.

I believed I had OPS (orange palpebral spots) and asked him to pull up images of this. He agreed that my eyelids look nothing like xanthelasma and that it looks more like OPS but that there isn’t a lot of science yet to say what causes OPS.

So why would he tell me that I have xanthelasma when clearly I do not? Why not just tell me I have OPS and that he doesn’t know a lot about it.

When I asked if I would develop bumps he said “probably not but maybe OPS develops into xanthelasma”. I think this wild to tell me that I might develop bumps on my eyelids when he has no idea what he is talking about.

To make things worse he told me to just “not look too close in the mirror” because he could barely tell. Yuck.

This doctor needs to stop listening to Jordan Peterson podcasts and actually be inquisitive about dermatology.

I just went to my appointment at Medcan ground floor. My doctor and nurse were great.

But as I was leaving, heard receptionists and a nurse standing next to the reception desk and judging other patients symptoms about how gross it look.

It was extremely unprofessional, considering its a dermatology clinic where people do not want to be judged the most. Made me feel very uncomfortable to make any appointments with them in the future.

For those wanting to get an antibody test here, go through Dynacare instead. It's $230 cheaper, and their turnaround times are faster (feel so foolish for not knowing better & getting ripped off like that!). It's now been 10 days since my appointment here and still no word - the nurse gave me an estimate of 3 days, the clinic said within 7 days. Why even pay for private healthcare with those timelines?

My experiences with Medcan have been excellent. I initially came for a full physical in January 2020 and subsequently signed on to use their personal training service. I was out of shape and a little wary of what I was getting myself in for. However, my experiences with my trainer Simon Lim and the program he has put me through have been extraordinary. Simon tailored a program that has progressively gotten me in the best shape I've been in for the last 20 years. Every two weeks he has revised the program to build on core strength, flexibility and cardio - taking into account my age and addressing the muscle groups that needed more work than others. In the process my health has dramatically improved and I've lost 48 pounds. This has been a very worthwhile investment and I highly recommend Medcan and Simon.

I have been working with Simon Lim at Medcan since the start of the year with the aim of improving my general conditioning and flexibility. I also wanted to get a bit more out of my cycling. Simon put together a series of exercises that are demanding but transformative. I’m eight months or so into the program Simon is supervising and I’m very happy with the results. All round strength and conditioning has improved greatly while I have seen a noticeable improvement on the bike in terms of my speed and power. Both average speed and average power readings over courses I have ridden for many years have improved significantly in the past few months. I’m cycling further and faster than I have in my life. Thanks Simon - look forward to more hard work!

Thorough and efficient. I have been coming here for 5 years and though it is not without flaw, the staff, all the way from the doctors to the janitors are always eager to help and make it the best possible experience!

Just finished my first appointment at Medcan. From the day I called them I experienced exceptional customer service. Dr. Cara Sterling is a wonderful doctor. She patiently listened to my complete medical history and gave me a plan to follow to help me resolve the issues. I understand it might be too early to review their service completely, but I truly believe they will live up to the standards they have mentioned in their website. They have surpassed all my expectation until now. I am hoping to continue under their care for many more years.

Slashed our commissions to under the minimum wage which was illegal. Fired people for questioning HR. The Ministry of Labour were involved and made them pay back what was owed. Minimum wage job and getting $12 per CHA, when they cost $2,400 at the time. Dont work here. HR is brutal

If I could give this place a zero star, I would. I worked here for a year and this place drained me physically and destroyed me mentally. Low wages, sub par benefits, absolutely ATROCIOUS management, extremely disorganized. Can't say anything good about Medcan unfortunately. The dollars is all they care for

Medcan is good in concept, but they are really another money making machine. They will sell you things you don't need (genome testing for example) and other vaccines and tests that they can charge extra for whether you need it or not.
In another word, they are really good at getting you tested and processed for your annual exam but don't make a mistake and assume that they are better than your family doctor or other institutions. Be prepared to pay lot of money on lot of gimmicks.
What's great? You are a healthy young person looking to do a preventative and thorough review quickly and efficiently. Place is fancy and nice. You feel like you are in a spa. They are a machine in processing you through their clinic.
What's good? The results are provided on the same day. You leave the clinic after few hours with your test complete and your mind at ease.
What's poor? You are relatively healthy with some issues that needs follow-ups and review. You don't always get follow-up report.
What's bad? If you have a chronic issue. That's where they lose money and they pretty much blow you off even if you have been going to their clinic for 10 years. By then they have all your records and you get caught in the switching cost. You don't want to go somewhere else because they have EVERYTHING (your tests, your history, your life), yet they blow you off.
They are not for you when you need them most and that's coming from a long experience.

Was a patient at Medcan in 2015/2016.
Pros: Big, spacious environment that tends to not feel like a medical facility and professional staff. Nice selection of food while you wait. Do feel they give you the 5 star treatment (which they should bc of the cost)
Same day results and thorough meeting with the Doctor where you can ask all the question you want. No rushing. Loved that.
Cons: referrals to specialists take forever! I waited 6 months with no luck, found out THEY DIDNT EVEN SEND THE REFERRAL on time.
So, for a few thousands, is it worth it? Yes its nice the day of but being referred is the se process of seeing your GP/emerg for free.

Medcan-If you are offered a job at Medcan, think twice about taking it. Their turnover is insane. In the 3 years I was employed there, I must have seen over 200 people start and stop or get fired. Now I am hearing from ex employees that they are not getting holiday pay owed to them, some are not getting their notice pay. This organization is terrible.

A very professional team delivering great care and services. Their proactive care detected my cancer early, they identified treatment options, guided me through a complex care regimen and cured me.
My wife and I are regular and very satisfied patients.

I would give 0 stars if I could. UNLESS YOU LIVE IN TORONTO, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MEDCAN! They say that if you are in another province, you can still use the online appointment option and get referrals, prescriptions, etc.just the same as if you lived near the physical location. THIS IS NOT TRUE! Time and time again they have not been able to refer me to specialists in B. C.because they are an out of province referral. I specifically asked about this multiple times before signing up, and I was reassured it would not be an issue. The service itself is terrible. Out of 3 doctors I spoke with at Medcan, only 1 took the time to listen to me and ask questions. One of the doctors even lectured me about not having a family doctor.as if I would use this service if I had one. They do not grow on trees here in Victoria. Terrible service, I would never recommend and even actively dissuade people from using this service.

Listen, this place is a very love it or hate it place. I personally love it for the good service that I have gotten with doctors, their efficiency, and more. If you dislike them, it’s probably for the price, but if you don’t mind that it’s pretty good.

Thank you to Dr. Axler and staff at Medcan for making our recent and first visit to Medcan a memorable one. From the moment we arrived to our departure we were treated with warmth and compassion. We have never experienced such a professional, clean and well organized health facility before and it made a lasting impression. This is definitely a first class operation and deserves a 5 star rating.

I felt like it was a glorified GP visit with a free sandwich. The diagnostic methods used were nothing groundbreaking. Spent $3,500 and the Dr didn't even review my past medical records. This place is all show.

They are very disorganized and unresponsive. Don't waste your money or time, much better clinics and doctors in the city.
