The clerk was very unprofessional and didn't take the order for nearly half an hour. He said he would give priority to the takeout order. There were not even 10 red beans in the Shao Xiancao I ordered. It had nothing to do with the picture. It was very bad and I would not come back again.
Garbage. It tastes terrible. I completely forgot to put the taro balls in. The bowl is full of water. I’m curious about what else I can do if I can’t even do the simplest task
Terrible service, waited almost half an hour for a ice cream, paid almost 17 bucks for a box of soup with hardly anything in it. Worst meet fresh ever! Nobody clean up tables, A new front desk would be better.
90% of the menu items are unavailable (they don’t sell it anymore). Feels like they just do bubble tea takeouts now and do that pretty well but don’t expect anything for dessert. They don’t even have grass jelly!
- not a cozy ambience, half the restaurant space is unused. And the rest is occupied by wooden tables and stools. Open concept, but overall just looks empty when you enter. - the waffle dish looked good, and I appreciated the waffle to ice-cream ratio (usually places have 90% ice cream) and all the fresh fruit! The waffle didn’t taste fresh (more like and Eggo one defrosted) and i would expect something fresh for $15! If you want hot tea, they only have jasmine green teas. It came in about a 500ml cup (huge, but I didn’t mind) and had sugar in it. It would’ve been nice if they asked us if we wanted sugar at all - i could barely drink it. It was also just lukewarm, and had to be reheated.
Great dessert spot in Chinatown! I like their various options - both desserts and drinks are available for both dine in or takeout.
My friends and I shared their mangoes and strawberries shaved ice. It was huge! It took 3 of us to finish it. It was very sweet so you need a sweet tooth to enjoy this.
This place actually took me by surprise. The desserts were really tasty and interesting. It may not suit some palates, as you see some ingredients (like whole red beans) in a savoury setting and your brain doesn't process it as dessert? I guess? But the bowl and my boba pudding dessert (which was 170 calories only!) was great!
Personally I’m pretty like Meet Fresh and keep coming back in Winnipeg store. However this is my first time try Toronto’s one, I’ve to say I’m extremely disappointed for it. I ordered Hot Grass Jelly B this time but when I back home expecting to enjoy my dessert, I found that the staff forgot to put taro in. I don’t understand how staff messed up my toppings as there’s only me and another customer waiting. I’ll give Meet Fresh another try but definitely not this shop anymore.
Stopped by randomly ordered FU PUDDING C with caramel pudding and a boba fresh milk tea with almond pudding. Both items were not fresh and had no flavour especially boba milk tea.
I v always been a fan of this place. Just found out that they have a new Afternoon Tea special and it's perfect for me to spend the afternoon here studying (power outlets near every table) or chilling with a couple of friends. The waffle set comes with a large portion of waffle and a drink of your choice for $3.99. My friend and I shared the freshly made waffle together and it tastes so good especially in a chilly and rainy day. We had a great time. Will definitely visit again.
Very friendly services the store is Very clean the drinks are Good including the food, I am speechless on how well they made this place as a minimalist
Absolutely amazing place for desserts. They have a vast menu and tons of options sure to fit any taste. I got the double love and it was very reasonably priced for how much you got. It comes with a ton of grass jelly, mochi, taro paste, and other stuff. The flavors all worked together deliciously and was the perfect way to beat the heat
It was nice on a frigid winter day - all that warm sweet soup. I wish the soup was more authentic, it did taste like the almond soup came from a package/powder flavouring.
Worst store ever! SERVICE IS ridiculously slow. It TAKES OVER 15-20 minute to scoop coconut sago from literally a pot! Worst store ever. Good luck on ever getting any business with your employees who don’t know the value of customer service. Never would I ever come back and pay for this overpriced drink.
The presentation of the hot tofu pudding is not appealing, tastes good tho. It is nice to see every employee wearing a mask during the flu season and to prevent the spreading of the horrific coronavirus protecting both the staff and customers. It makes me feel safe having my dessert here. Well done Meet Fresh.
I'll start off by saying that this sweets and desserts place is not for everyone.
What they offer - freshly prepared traditional Taiwanese desserts - is something different from most other sweets places.
For those that have a sweet tooth and are expecting to have something really cold and sweet to give that sugar rush, this is not the place for you. This place is however unique compared to the rest in that they offer fruits, beans, taro, and grass jelly to name just a few in its menu items.
Setting wise it is neat and tidy. Place is spacious, actually a little too spacious even. It is order by counter here so you would have to walk all the way across the narrow hall to place an order.
I like their items, but the last time I went I ordered and paid and then they didnt give me cream? Apparently they had ran out hours ago, they shouldve told me before I ordered because its not the same without the cream.: (
I really like their grass jelly collection! Food is great but the lady named Linda who took my order was rude. Later, I saw her yelling at the staff a couple times, which was unbelievable. Don't understand why she could do that in front of the customers. It's very unprofessional and it certainly ruined my experience as I had to finish my desert in a unpleasant atmosphere.
The manager of this place should really take care of the staffs’ attitude towards customers. The dessert is absolutely amazing, but the staff always seem cranky and not happy serving customers. I’ve been here a couple times but i barely seen them say “thank you”, “sorry” or being professional at their job. I feel bad because the location is great as well as the food, but the business might lose their customers due to employees’ problem. Hopefully either the manager or the owner will pay more attention to this. Thanks!
I had a great experience coming here, the atmosphere is great and the store is pretty clean and tidy. For a store in downtown, the seating area is huge, last but not least the signature ice grass jelly taste amazing. Took away one star because there’s no bench for takeout customers. However, there efficiency is not the greatest as I had to wait a really long time for my signature ice grass jelly. The store is nice, but there are some things to be fixed
Really want to like this place, but the 2 times we went the presentation has been horrible. This is how tofu pudding #5 was served to us. Taste is average.
This place is still beautiful. They have added electrical outlets and actuall supplied a power cord with 3 plugs: lightning, mini usb-b, usb-c.
They have introduced a hot almond soup series which is great for the winter. We got the Signature Almond Soup, $8.70. Delicious. We also got the Winter Melon Tea, $5.70. Very refreshing.
The order taker easily misunderstand things.
One thing is that all their seats are stools so there is nowhere to hang your coats so all the customers keep wearing their coats (instead of putting them on the small tables).
They have on gender-neutral washroom.

This location just had a grand opening on Fri 2019-09-13. They didn't even have a soft opening.
When I first entered, I thought it was a beautifully decorated place. It is a little on the dark side but the lights complemented the atmosphere well.
They sell: 1. Desserts made with purple rice, waffles, or "small bites"), 2. Various teas and hot almond soup, 3. Desserts in a bowl: taro ball, tofu pudding, grass jelly, shaved ice.
No taro balls at all in the Almond Soup #5 while the menu pic has those. I ordered take out so there's no way to see it or change anything after I get home. Taro ball is the most important piece! 打包的杏仁烧5号里半个芋圆都没有全是汤圆 而菜单图片上是有芋圆的 配料应该是芋圆+汤圆+豆+花生吧?结果就只看到了后三样到家连吃的心情都没有
This place has plenty of seating, its pretty spacious. My friend and I made the mistake of ordering the hot version of a grass jelly with taro balls. The grass jelly came in a hot liquid soup, which i wasn't expecting. We let it sit for 10min and it slowly solidified a little making it taste more like jelly although still too soft. I prefer the firmer texture of grass jelly, so lesson learned, we will order cold grass jelly in the future. I like that you can substitute your toppings here if theres something in a bowl that you don't like. The only downside is the price, this bowl was $11.55 after tax which is really expensive for grass jelly.
An alright place for its relatively high prices. The taro is soft, sweet and amazing. But that's how much taro you get for the amount of ice and condensed milk. Don't expect exception, because all the meet freshers I've been to are like this. I drank all the almond soup to see how much ingredient they put in this big bowl. Great. Just 6 taro balls. They could be a bit more generous on their ingredient portion, the stuff is not expensive, but a price of $8.7 plus taxes for a ton of soup and little stuff is a bit sad for me. The soup is delicious though, can't go wrong with almond and sugar.
While the Taiwanese desserts are standardized by their menu, I think that this place can do much better. It's getting cold out and people have jackets and wet boots coming in - can we think about how to deal with that? I've noticed everyone just has to wear their jacket while enjoying their sweet treats.how about a coat hang, or just a place to put jackets? Just a thought.also - i dont like how the menu is confusing, there's no listing of what's in the bowls and you're left to guess!
The portions are reasonable and filling. Sometimes it gets pretty busy and it takes a bit longer but it's understandable. I'm a regular visitor and the service stays pretty consistent, it's a cute place to take your girlfriend if you want a reasonably priced shaved ice (it's almost enough for 5 peopleeee)
Spacious and good hangout place. Lots of desserts to choose from snack size, drinks and bowls. Think I’ll stick with the signature dishes though. The hot bowl grass jelly wasn’t as good as the others.
Great location and reasonable portions. Had the almond soup, didn’t live up to the expectations I had though. But still willing to go back and try other dishes:)
OMG! They finally opened in DT, newly renovated store, clean and neat, service is so friendly and fast. I love the taro balls so much, soooo good! The servers are nice to talked to, they said all ingredients are imported regularly from Taiwan to keep everything fresh and clean. LOVE IT!
