The staff are always friendly, welcoming and considerate of the situation. My dog is 11 years old and has been to a number of different vets and Merritt is the first place that I received such customized and helpful care. She is living a better quality of life since being cared for at Merritt. Highly recommend!
Had an amazing visit with Dr. K today. Usually our cat is so scared and anxious at the vet and afterwards but today she was great! She’s started playing and was happy right when we got home. Even jumped back in her carrier afterwards. Extremely happy with the care provided and how welcoming and loving the staff were to our fur baby. Thanks so much to Dr. K and the amazing staff for your help at our visit today.
Within a year we had two of our family members pass on. Our dog, then our cat. Last year for the cremation of our dog, we were charged over $300 from Merritt. Then this year, when we had our tiny cat cremated, we were charged over $550 from them. When we asked why the price was so high as 11 mons ago, we weren’t charged as much for our dog/weight, The young strawberry blonde girl at the front said that they had no “control” over the prices and that it was all up to Gateway. She insisted it was Gateway who raised their prices in February, not them. Gateway is the company that does the cremations. After speaking to other vets, the prices did not change from Gateway, it was Merritt themselves that raised their prices.
When I went to pick up the ashes, I questioned/confronted the girl as to why she took advantage of us in our sorrows stating everyone charges the same- (NOT TRUE) and why she lied about Gateway raising the prices. This is not admirable nor having integrity. It’s manipulation of those in grief. I feel the need to mention, her cadence was offbeat too. She sat in her chair with her legs up on the desk. She did not change her position. She remained speaking to us like this the entire time. Her solution to her ignorance was to pass me a card and have me speak to the manager & apologized for a “miscommunication”. I immediately got the impression this happens a lot. She had no affect to how upset we were at being deceived. Bottom line: You lied to get our business/money. I’m sure we aren’t the only victims here.
N. B. We came in 5 mins before closing time not knowing their hours. We were pushed to say our goodbyes quickly so they could go home on time. The girl would not allow us to spend any time over their hours to see our pet one last time. “It’s 5: 30 and you must leave… sorry”- she repeated that 3 times robotically.
I would suggest you call the shelters for better services and prices in future. These people are heartless crooks.
Lesson learned. Trust is lost-I would say, stop robbing the community, be more professional, have empathy around the business you run, and be HONEST. Don’t lie to get business. That’s soulless.
Wonderful Dr’s and staff, had both of our boxers in. Extremely thorough they take the time to explain everything they are doing to your pet and the best preventive steps to take when issues arises. Would highly recommend Merrit Animal Hospital.
Recently I lost my best friend, my pure breed German Shepherd, Sadie, of almost 15 years. She was my world and it was I rocked to the core when she just went off to sleep on her own. Being a Saturday morning we called Merritt Animal Hospital for what options we may have, with cremation being the only one ever considered. They walked us through the process and what we can do for our precious Sadie to keep her passing and remain in dignity. And what to expect. After taking her into the hospital and saying final goodbye to her physical being we were greeted with compassion and respect. They exceeded our expectations. We did have her cremated and her remains were returned to us within an extremely short period of time. We have since received a card of condolences from the staff and doctor on site. Much unexpected but so deserving to our precious Sadie. Thank you all for your professionalism and your care of our Sadie. The Broad Family.
I highly recommend Merritt Animal Hospital in Chatham. The staff are kind hearted, caring people that provide excellent service. Dr. Nick is awesome, as is his love for animals and his kindness to their guardians.
Dr. Nick and Amber treated my dog Max amazing. We got the answers we needed and now we move forward with a plan. Thank you for your kindness and patience with us.
We brought our cat in because he was having some urinary issues. The vet and staff were fantastic with our Mr. Mischief and with us as we were very concerned. They were more than happy to answer all of our questions and address all of our concerns. They even called us a few days after our visit to check up on his condition. Very impressed with the care our furbaby recieved. Thank you Merrit Animal Hospital and staff. You guys are fantastic! Update! Today we brought our Chihuahua Lola in to have some issues addressed. We are still so very impressed with the care, honesty and realistic approach to the care and treatment of our animals that we receive at Merrit. We also had Vet Tech Tiffany trim her nails and she did a fantastic job with our old girl. Keep up the awesomeness and we will be bringing our pets as long as we have them. Five well earned and deserved stars for you all!
Dr. Nick is AMAZING with our pets. He takes the time to listen & explain everything in detail so u feel confident in ur decisions with ur pets. The girls are all so helpful & friendly as well. Definitely recommend Merritt to everyone.
Dr. Nick is such an amazing vet, with such a caring and loving heart. When we brought our sweet 10 week old teacup yorkie Maisie to Dr. Nick I knew he would take care of my little Maisie.
Maise had her spay yesterday and she is 6mos old 4.4lbs, and Dr. Nick with his amazing staff Amber and Jess took care of our little girl they cuddled and loved her like their own. I cannot thank you all for your caring and love uou gave to our baby. Thank you so much again. Lori and Andy
We love having Merritt Animal Hospital provide care for our pets. Dr. Nick is AMAZING! He is so gentle with our fur babies. The staff at Merritt are absolutely wonderful and caring. I strongly recommend Merritt Animal Hospital for anyone looking for great, professional, courteous, knowledgeable care for their pets.
BEWARE, this vet is out for money and money only. No compassion for my sick pet. We have been to this vet 10+ times this year only to be charged for unnecessary tests and treatments. No reccomendations for preventive measures. Always have to wait weeks for an appointment even when my dog is clearly suffering. Dr. Nick has even went as far to raise his voice at me and refuse to care for my dog. They also made me remove a previous review. If you care about your pet at all, you will take them somewhere else. This place is a -10 for me and should fire Dr. Nick for his unprofessionalism.
Huge Rave to Merritt Animal Hospital! The staff are all amazing there. You can tell that they all love animals and love their jobs. They were very thorough with explaining everything before doing any tests and made sure that we understood everything before we left. We have been going there for several years and will continue to do so!
This was our first trip to a vet and first time we have ever had a puppy. Dr. Allen and his assistant were patient and kind, answering all of our questions, affirming what we were doing and tips on how to tweak things for better training results. Stevie our Maltese puppy was so calm and comfortable. A great first impression and has built confidence as we go forward. I would definitely recommend.
First visit with our two dogs. All staff were kind, patient and caring to both our pets and us. The doctor was terrific and informative. Great experience! Thank you.
Superior customer service and great people! Thank you for care of our pets. Always knowledgeable and professional. We are dealing with a new vet and he is wonderful.
