There are some misconceptions here. Contrary to what the scammer owner says you dont have to prove you are who you are. You need to record your phone call and let them know you can track every single no answer or hang up call back to them. Let them know you are not who they say you are. And you know that law dictates they have 24 hours to take you off the list from the moment this request is made. Therefore if you get a call 24 hours and 1 minute later you will be filing litigation and it will then be them that owe you money. That's how you get these morons to knock it off.

Edit: Tactics? You are harassing people with your tactics. Half of these reviews are people saying it's not even the person you're looking for and you respond that they must send personal info. Which is a lie. Follow the law! You crooked scammer. There is a reason everyone hates you.

Continues to call and harrass and either stays silent on the other end, or hangs up on us. Is calling about a name who is not and has never been an employee, which we told them once already and yet they continue to call and stay silent. This is unprofessional and harrassment, giving rise to the reputation they deserve as unscrupulous collectors working from incorrect or fraudulent information they've been provided. We are a legitimate business and do not need the harrassing silent calls.

Agency called about amounts owed to telecommunication companies years ago that I have never even signed up with. When you call them back there is an extensive verification process in which they try to take all of your information for an unknown process, but cannot explain why it is all needed. They cannot explain the reasoning themselves.

Kept getting calls from this company after the situation was resolved, even called my family members. Started to raise their voice over the phone and hung up on me and when I requested to speak to a higher up they avoided the request and kept hanging up on me….

This company is a joke.

This place kept calling me and texting me saying it was calling on behalf of Rogers. I cancelled my accounts with Rogers December 2022 and at the time it was in fact Rogers that owed me money and had to send me a cheque for ~$300 to make me whole. The text message they sent states a name that was similar to mine but not mine. Apparently the person they were trying to get to was born in the same year as I am too. When I called to get things resolved they asked if I lived in Scarborough. I have never lived in Scarborough for a single day of my life! My question here is, how tf did you get my file mixed up with someone else and get my phone number? I’m concerned about my privacy and my credit score now being impacted by something I have nothing to do with. This is unacceptable, I need an explanation.

Worse service ever i have seen, they sent email to pay Telus payment and i never have Telus service i don’t have any agreement signed between me and Telus and i didn’t signed any documents they offer me plan i didn’t like i leave store that is all and when i peak Amanpreet Bala she was unprofessional an respect-full i was trying to find solution she close phone 3 time and after that she was harassing me and she was say i will destroy your credit and i will take action to take your car,
what i ask her before making payment just to provide me a copy of agreement she said i don’t have i said if you don’t have agreement or any proof why you asking me money.you need to hire professional services not bad service like Amanpreet Bala she close phone more than 3 time after that she put on hold for 5 minutes, and after that she start harassing me.

I am very happy to make payments now if you provide me with any proof or any documents i have signed with Telus without any proof or any documentation i cannot pay you know better than me that is Fraud you asking money and i can take this case to court.

After a long while, Metcredit was finally able to help claim my outstanding debt. Took longer than I'd hoped for, but at least they came through.

Terrible man, this one dude keeps calling saying we didnt pay for fido, I payed with all the info he gave to me, and then proceds to tell me the money ddnt come I eveng gave him conformation number from bank and he said its good but then he calls everyday harrasing me and being very pushy

I have been employee with Metcredit Mississauga branch, right now on a Maternity leave. I started my career in Canada with this amazing company. It was my first job and people like Mike, January and Meenakshi helped me to build my career from the scratch. They thought me, not just how collection works but how Canadian system works. If it wasn’t metcredit I wouldn’t have a survived a month in this country. It is no wrong to say I feel more empowered, respected and loved in Metcredit then in my own home country. Looking forward to joining back.

Just as with other reviewers, this company constantly harrasses you. You tell them they have the wrong number and they do not fix anything. Ive been receiving calls for someone I DO NOT KNOW for 2 years now. I have emailed, called, submitted the form on the website more times than I can count, that they have the WRONG NUMBER. The calls will stop for a few months and restart again. Today when I called in and let the agent know AGAIN I've been dealing with this harrassement for 2 years she said "what do you want me to do". Extremely rude and unprofessional business. I'm unsure how else this can be escalated as when I asked for it to be escalated she refused. Anything short of having to change your number obviously doesn't work. What a pathetic excuse of a business.

*Update: Greg from the Edmonton office contacted me after my review was written, he was very helpful and advised me of the steps he took to handle my wrong number case. He advised also will be reviewing the phone call with the very rude agent I spoke with this morning. Overall I hope I will no longer recieve calls. The review will stay at the current rating as obviously after multiple attempts to have this fixed and failing- there is no guarantee.

MAKE SURE YOU ACCOUNT IS ACTIVE! BEEN TRYING FOR MONTHS TO GET MY MONEY BACK FRON THEM! So I had some money on a old koodo account that I wasn't aware of and built up to several hundred dollars. I called and paid.few weeks later I didn't see a change in my credit report I called back to see what was going on with it ends up my account was closed and sent out to another company yet I didn't get informed and they still took my money, I gave them my address and this and that to get the money MAILED back idk why yall can't just do etransfer you seem very quick to take money that's not yours but can't send it back in a timely manner, but apparently I moved and that's why I didn't get a chueqe. I was told weeks prior to moving that my cheuqe was gunna be there in 5-7 buisness days and been told that multiple times. I had just gotten off the phone and for the 3rd-4th time apparently it's on its way and will be here in 7-10 buisness days! If it's not here in that amount of time you'll be hearing from a lawyer

You guys keep calling me about a Koodo bill I know I've paid long time ago. It becomes so frustrating when they force me to pay something I have already paid. I have no option other than ignoring your calls. You guys only know how to trap money out of people's pocket.

Scam artists. People should also be aware that you dont need to ever pay a debt collector even if you do have an outstanding debt. Ignore them until the 7 years has passed and if there is indeed an outstanding debt, it will be wiped from your record. Do not pay these vultures a penny. Do not even answer their calls.

Metcredit "TEXT " me regarding a bill I owed with Fido. Then I called Fido and they said they haven't sent anything to any credit bureaus and now can't get anyone on the phone at metcredit.

As a former employee, I can say that working for a third party collections company comes with a lot of stigma but after spending a year with the company I can confidently say that I have learned so much.

The team is absolutely amazing and always supportive. You will not find a better manager than Mike.
Mike Nelsen is not only a great mentor but would support you 1000% if you are serious about what you're doing.

In addition, the TEAM.
An amazing team to always back you up whenever you have questions, concerns, or even when you need a recipe for dinner.

Okay so my story is that Skycap financial told me lies about how I can increase and boost my credit by applying for a loan with them. So I did and bi weekly payments were made. I got no loan though. I was told that in the end of the payment they will give me the money back and at the same time while paying them that they will report positively about me to boost my credit. NONE of them happened. I will be reporting them to consumer protection so I can get my money back and also the "LOAN" that I never got is given to metcredit to get recovered from me. THIS IS FRAUD! Anyway, I will be reporting both this agency and skycap financial.

This business has contacted me several times in a day trying to collect on some debt that isn't mine. The business has no understanding of the collection and debt settlement laws in effect in the province of Ontario. They will call at all hours of the day, send several text messages a day, and when telling the agent that they have the wrong number, no note is made and the calls continue.

UPDATE:
Issue was rectified by the Management and Quality Assurance team. Very satisfied with how quickly they were to respond to my issues regarding my contact. Thank you to those from metcredit involved in rectifying these matters.

Received a call today that was very passive aggressive. I was not notified until 3 days ago that I had amount owing to Roger's for something i cancelled in January until i received a letter from METCredit. The phone conversation started with the representative being rude to me and threatened legal action and I didnt even know why until after when I asked her what it was about. Once I told the representative that it was paid the tone changed but I wasnt having it. I was then asked to provide proof so they could close the investigation. I will be sending a very negative review to Roger's as well but that is not how you speak to someone upon initial contact and your staff need to be properly trained in communications as that is probably 75% of the job.

Get calls for debts never had. Sent them letter. They could have checked information I gave many times. But they keep calling and bothering person on ODSP, who is already in pain and suffering.

Although my time at Metcredit was short I would like to thank Mike Nelsen and his team for helping me. The staff where incredibly friendly and helpful made me feel like one of them instantly. I Do recommend Metcredit if you are looking for a challenge it’s a great place to work. It’s not every day you see a Company offering fresh fruits and free lunches for there staff.

I have been receiving calls from numerous numbers requesting payment for a Rogers bill. I do not owe Rogers have never owed Rogers and in fact received a refund from Rogers when I cancelled my internet service in Sept 2018. Rogers has confirmed this to me and suggests ignoring all calls and emails. I have forwarded the reference number by e mail many times I have by phone informed these people I do not owe money and to contact the original vendor.
I am very very tired of this harrasment
I continue to block all numbers from thus company

I would advise anyone to ignore this company. I called this company after months of harassing text messages and calls. I told them I am not paying for services I didn't use and the agent continued to threaten me and hung up on me. I also wouldn't take this company seriously. Any company that has their agents threaten customers is unprofessional and illegitimate.
