Great selection of ready to eat food. For Starbuck fans there's one inside. Great desserts fresh products well designed layout of store. Only one negative about this Metro is its tiny self checkout area. Limited space to place items in bags after being scanned.

I visited meat counter for a couple of specials Nov 14 at 9: 30 a.m. And as usual they had no stewing beef that was on sale at all. The roast that were on special were not on the counter but they had some in the back. So they brought out 1 to me and none to restock the shelf. I am completely used to this tactic at the Guelph store. The part that I am writing about is the argument I witnessed over the counter between 2 staff from the meat department and a staff member from another department which included some choice 4 letter words! Inappropriate behavior in front of waiting customers to say the least!

No cashiers around 9pm. Only self checkout with very little space to use and very crowded. Prices are expensive on most items, but some items are priced reasonably. Lots of variety, but limited on vegetables and fruits. For a grocery store it's a small selection.

Friendly staff awesome meat section and the meat department manager was very helpful will diffinanly go back soon.
Also great sale prices on Coffee.

It's got some very good food. One of the nicer grocery stores around. It is a more expensive option but that's only marginally more expensive.

Today is August 16th. This is the second time I’ve come here and found expired yogurt. Last time it was over a month past it’s expiration date so I guess I’m lucky this time was just under two weeks past it’s expiration date. Never shopping here again. If they can’t walk by and check dates which only takes a couple seconds then what else aren’t they doing properly?

Shopped for our weekly groceries for ourselves and a second order for our neighbour, Donna, for the 70th time since covid started.
Our cashier Tami was a breath of fresh air! Much better than being poorly treated by cranky cashiers each week. She bagged both orders with a big smile. Even thanked us for coming.
Kind and happy to serve us.
We'll look for her on subsequent visits. Well done Metro. Nice to be well served.

Lovely store & beautiful displays always! Staff work very hard that’s obvious.
However on more than one occasion there is a lady who works in the cheese area who scowls and literally gives dirty look and she seems annoyed when I’m asking for something specific. Same thing when I was dealing with her at the deli counter previously.
It’s become uncomfortable for me to even pass through that area. I wish the manager would speak with her and train her in customer service.

I love their hot meals, top notch! I just wish the rest of the groceries were cheaper to make it a productive trip instead of having to go elsewhere to get regular items. If you haven’t tried the hot meals or even the ready to go meals you can heat up, I highly recommend!

I love Metro! They're the only grocery chain that carries my favourite cold brew coffee outside of Toronto. I just wish there was one closer to me in Stratford; I usually only get to shop at Metro when I visit my sister in Guelph.

Love, love, love this store, it's clean, bright fresh feeling! Staff are warm and friendly. Fair prices excellent quality and they have an airmiles rewards program! Wish there were more locations in Guelph.we need more Metro's

We went to buy the advertised Italian prosciutto. We were told they were in the cooler, and if brought out we had to buy it. We wanted to look at it, particularly the date. Not possible! We left.

Always has what I need and has good deals. Clean and organized. Employees I've dealt with so far have all been very kind and accommodating.

Good enough store with good variety. But everyone I know talks about the one cashier who is absolutely miserable. He works at the last cash all the time. 3 different friends have said they avoid him and all his bad Karma! Even one of the other staff commented about him. Why doesn’t the manager do something?

The alcohol policy at the Metro on Stone Rd.is quite vague. On one occasion, my husband and I were prevented from purchasing because we did not have Canadian identification and told our passports would not be acceptable (even though the pandemic prevented us from obtaining Ontario driver's licenses or photo cards). However, on many other occasions, our foreign driver's licenses (which are in English) and our passports were acceptable. There was also an instance where my husband was told by a cashier that he needed to show his visa. I called Metro's customer service for clarification on whether he needed to show his work permit. The representative said she did not know the policies and would call me back after speaking with her manager. To my disappointment, I did not receive a call back and it has already been several months. Luckily, now that lockdown restrictions have been eased, we have been able to obtain Ontario photo cards. However, those experiences were both frustrating and humiliating.

Always fully stocked. The employees are fantastic on every trip. On this trip floral department and produce went out of their way for me.

Limited choices when you compare it to their stores in Quebec, expensive and unpleasant experience. There is an agressive, semi-retired lady working in self checkout greeting me with a "Go there, Ma'am" "No Ma'am, I haven't finish cleaning Ma'am" all the time. She feels the need to belittle me and direct me all the time even though she lets other customer do whatever they want. Next time, I'd rather go to Zehrs because it's getting exhausting.

I like this store. The produce and fish os amazing and fresh. But the only concern, they should hire someone behind the counter who can cut the fish, remove its skin.

The store is like Walmart but the prices are a bit higher. Here you can get nice flowers. If you want to use Guelph Transportation Metro is a place in which you can buy "Guelph Transit Card". The environment of the store is beautiful and illuminated by nice LED lamps.

Sales were good. I find them some what expensive but the sales they had on were good. It was very busy when I was there. Only waited outside for 5 minutes.

A FOODIE paradise, with great prices. Got fresh tuna, amazing beef and fresh veggies for an amazing dinner the other night. Worth going.

Amazing birthday cake made for my daughter, hello kitty, the man in the bakery Aug 11 was so kind, my first time in a store with this pandemic, I am disabled, all staff very kind and helpful, but the bakery man and who ever made that hello kitty cake went above and beyond. From my first time entering the store to exiting all staff gave clear instructions but very kind and knowledgeable, caring. It's a higher priced store so I can't afford a large shopping but they have amazing food and treats

Got eveything I needed. People were social distancing. Store clerk help me find a product that I wasn't sure where to look.

This is a massive supermarket near the Stone Road Mall.not the cheapest in town but about the same prices as Zehrs. They do a good job re: COVID precautions. Very nice in all respects but Food Basics is less expensive.

Metro had a good variety of products. Some you can't find really like low carb items. The prices are just ok but the store is clean and nice to be in.

The girl at the door was so rude.yelling at me to back out of the store and keep my distance. Maybe she could say, “hello, how are you? ” The lady working the pizza area ignored me and then made it seem like such a hassle that I had asked for something. I stayed and shopped anyways, only to realize that the strawberries I bought are covered in mold. This store needs some help!

This store was open and ready for business this morning. All the departments looked amazing - very impressed.

Although there are lovely people who work there, the customer service here has typically been sub-par, but it's starting to bother me how staff don't follow the social distancing rules even though they tell you "please follow the arrows and stand 2m apart" -many of them don't follow the arrows and pass by people very close. This is not cool. I know everyone is tired and the staff is probably frustrated, but the rules are for everyone? Please follow the rules and wear a mask.why aren't they wearing a mask but the customers have to?

Be careful to check for best before dates especially on packaged cold cuts and packaged meats. Went shopping on 8/21 and packaged cold cuts with best before date of 8/11,10 days old and so gone bad. Won't ever by these kind of products at this store again!

I love metro for their meat fresh prepared foods and the deli counter really great staff working there.

Disappointing service. Bought dressing, discovered at home that the seal was broken and the bottle had been open in the store, someone potentially tampered with it. Tried to go and exchange it for one that hadn’t been tampered with. The store refused, didn’t even ask why I wanted to return it. I had to throw it in the trash. On top of it, the Metro staff decided to randomly claim that no stores are doing exchanges.

It seems a bit more expensive for a lot of items than other near by grocery stores. I do like the fresh salads, the stir fry packs, the stuffed mushrooms, and their daily dinner deals. It's very convenient too.

At the entrance to Metro I was stopped by a woman wearing a face shield with NO MASK. I was wearing a face shield with no mask and she told me I couldn’t enter the store.
Every other store I have been in has not given me a hard time.
I will not be returning.

I was waiting in line at the door, the people in front of me already went inside. Someone comes up behind me and stands too close, but the staff at the door are telling me to "please distance from other customers". What am I supposed to do? The person behind me is too close, and I can't move forward because I have the staff yelling at me saying I can't come in because I'm not 6 feet away from the person behind me. Ridiculous.

What I like is I can always go to the Butcher and get meat cut to my preference instead of having to look for the best cuts. Being a Chef that's a plus it allows me to get in and out quick

Clean store great selection the starbuck pop up staff. Could be a bit better in customer service (they aren't real starbuck people) they need better training

Always clean and fully stocked. Wide variety of food. My only issue is the price of pop, it's way more then everyone else.

Great pre made selection for quick meals on the good and a reasonalbe price. Has good preprepared chicken, sushi, salad, sandwiches etc. I find their general prices high sometimes

Metro is an incredible and reliable grocery store, they’ve taken the pandemic very seriously, protecting their employees very well. The customer service here is absolutely wonderful, some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Notably the younger boy pushing carts, the older lady at the customer service spot, and the woman at the bakery. Fantastic team, the place is very tidy and neat, would totally recommend to any friends new to town.:)

Brenda in your Bakery Department was very helpful when I ordered a wedding shower cake. She took time to explain all my options and helped me to choose the decorations for the cake. The cake she decorated was beautiful. She did an excellent job with it. We received many compliments about the cake from our guests. My daughter loved the shoes, ribbon and little wine glasses Brenda used to decorate her cake. Thank you Brenda. Job well done.

I also received very excellent service from your Deli Department. The employee (European accent - I don't have her name) who looked after my order of trays of wraps and sandwiches was very helpful in helping me choose what I needed for a wedding shower. She coordinated our pickup of the order from the Deli and Bakery.

I was very happy with the service and quality of the food provided. I would recommend Metro if you are planning food for an event.

I love the fresh baked breads at Metro, so delicious! The meats and fruits are also fresh at the store, the only down side is that grocery at more expensive than NoFrills.

It is a neat and clean store. In store good deals are pretty attractive. I always end up spending more than expected.

The bakery is absolutely divine with incredible cakes and pastries! There is a wide assortment of baked items, the most notable of which are the Mango Cheesecake and Carrot Cheesecake! Both are to die for

Called in to confirm product was available before travelling to store. Jeremy from Grocery was very positive and helpful in identifying the product in the database.

Have been shopping at this Metro for years and the whole store has always been well kept. They always have a good selection of quality and price, plus they actually face the store regularly. It’s organized and tidy. The staff are polite and helpful, overall this store runs very smoothly.

They are open late. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays there's a student discount. Staff are friendly and the space is clean. Meats are high quality, but vegetables can be a bit pricey.
