I love metro.when we moved to Bayridge 6 years ago my daughter and I felt so out of place and were unsure about the stores.we went into metro the first day we moved in our home and were greeted by many staff there but one staff member was extremely nice to us and still to this day greets us with a smile on her face.we have had two bad experiences there one was just after I had back surgery and I was using a cart to steady myself and the older cashier got rude to me because I only had bread.juice and lunch meat in the cart she said it was a waste of the cart and the other time was at the bakery when a worker their refused to serve my son because he is transgender and she refused to put my son's proper name on his birthday cake after she was made by the manager to serve him.but those incidents aside metro is a great store

I had a fantastic shopping experience at Metro Shopping Mart! The store's layout was well-organized, making it easy to find everything I needed. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, offering assistance whenever I had questions. The product selection was impressive, with a wide variety of high-quality items at competitive prices. I also appreciated the cleanliness and neatness of the store, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Metro Shopping Mart is definitely my go-to place for all my shopping needs, and I highly recommend it to others.

Service was okay. I mean personal are not really helpful.
I want over there for birthday cake, wanted to write on top but due to textured top we couldn't write on. I proposed to use ribbon or large strip but they said they don't because their store doesn't practice that.

When paid the cake, military individual in front of me wearing their uniform were asked their ID. Clearly, their uniform should talk for them to get their discounts. Since they didn't have the ID card with them, they didn't get the discount.

Otherwise, the strawberry shortcake was good. My colleagues appreciated it.

Tired of the rude service at the Taylor-Kidd location. Yesterday and about 2 months ago, the women at the customer service desk are just rude! You're there for service so you might want to watch your tone and attitude.

The staff at this branch are top notch.

Friendly staff. But, in the last year, some of the deli products (Roasted Red Pepper and Chicken penne) no longer offered at this location. I have to get them at the Bath & Gardiners location as well as other general products no longer offered at Bayridge location. Store made salads and stir fry gone early and not replenished. Also, the last pizza ordered from the deli had a different pre-made type of crust instead of the one that looks like real hand tossed crust, the toppings where very tiny and sparsely placed on the pizza. I was lucky if my slice had one mushroom on it. This has put me off their pizza, shame, because I have been telling everyone I know how good it is. Now I look like a liar.

Decent location, convenient when coming back from city. Store is ok for layout, selection, and cleanliness. Like to stop by when sales are on. Oh and military discount for serving memebers!

Recently moved back into the area and restarted shopping here. Pleasant experience again. Well organized, stocked and staff are very helpful when looking for something specific.

At fairly short notice Kristen from the plant area made up two lovely little bouquets for our granddaughter's dance recital. Kristen was very helpful and courteous. Lovely to see such wonderful staff!

Ordered a pizza with different toppings on each half. Was charged full price for each topping despite half the amount because the supervisor said to. Pizza was undercooked. They gave ham instead of sausage. They cut the pizza into 6 slices instead of 8. One half was bigger than the other. Was told 20 minutes, took 50. Do not recommend.

Got some nice t-bone steaks. Turned out great on the bbq. Metro always seem to have some nice steaks on sale.

I have been shopping at this location for the past 25yrs beginning with Loebs. Your quality and service have diminished immensely while your prices have skyrocketed! I purchased 4 fresh chicken souvlaki yesterday and made them for dinner tonight. They are inedible! So rice and tzatziki for dinner tonight. I am upset and disappointed. For the prices we are paying at least provide us
With edible proteins.

Went on a field trip to here with our grade one class and they were wonderful with the kids! The kids helped to make pizza at the deli counter, got some fruit and cookies to have as well. They were able to see where the food was brought into the store, talk to the bakery people and the seafood people. They all had a wonderful time!

Good selection, prices that are slightly above average. Any "help" is far from available. 4 stars at best.
Update. I've looked for shallots in every grocery store in town. This Metro is the ONLY place I found them. Still a great selection and good staff.

One of the better places to get meat, great staff, and the bread they bake daily, is to get fat for. Ugh, my weakness.

Love this store and love the staff. My beef is with upper management. Reducing labour costs with self checkout and buying new bag and cashiers not bagging. If METRO is Reducing services why is it more expensive then NoFrills? Poor decisions on upper management. I'll shop at No Frills if I have to bag and checkout myself. Again staff are awesome

It's not the most up to date metro in Kingston but it probably has most things your looking for.

There is no self-checkout. Not much customers but always line up for checkout, as not many cashiers are working.

Entered early, very few fruit bowls made. But. Got three other items at each at 30% off. Kinda paid for one of the items.
