No cashier and forced to use self checkout. Do I get an employee discount? What a joke. Metro already charges a premium for everything they sell, but that can't afford to staff the place properly? Talk about squeezing every bit you can.

Always seem to be clean and nice shelves are always Stock nice neatly and full And the staff are always friendly

Very well maintained vegetable fruits and bakery section. Stone baked pizza is good and reasonable. Had offers in many items.

Always have the best meat and produce, I really miss that they are nolonger open 24 hours a day. Work in TO live in Oshawa and used to drive here after work.

Love this store. Bags packed for you. Great Quality produce. A little more expensive but great choices of products. Friendly staff.

Watch when they ring in your food. I have been overcharged a few times. It's a good store but too pricey for overcharging errors to overlook that.

Hot food section is probably the worst I've seen at a grocery store. Everything else is ok and typical for Metro.

The Metro is wide and spacious inside. It opens very early which is nice for anyone up at 7: 00am. The parking lot has a large pot hole near the exit.

This place has the best seafood selection in Bowmanville. It's a very big store with lots of great produce as well. I usually find what I'm looking for without spending too much time.

Typical metro as far as groceries. Seems well stocked and clean. But their hot food section/ready made meals is a complete joke. 3 separate occasions they were missing either the boxes that hold said meals, or the main meal itself. If it was after 8pm I would understand, but 6pm, out of your advertised product? Never experienced this at my go to Metro at Vic park and Danforth, and that was a span of 13+ years. So for this location to not have product ready on 3 occasions is a span of a couple months is really telling. Won't be back.

Needs improvement in the Hot-to-Go meal section, always low on food availability.
Not happy with my recent service from a senior-citizen cashier that was grumpy, bossy, and poor mannerism. I now understand why self-checkout exists. All other staff members, super friendly and helpful.

I used my native status card at the register. Been told my whole life “funny, you don’t look like one”, which is exactly what the cashier said directly to my face. Sorry, am I supposed to announce my heritage and nationalities when I enter the store? !
Upon getting my discount (which I only use for large shopping lists as I understand ppl don’t want to wait), I was told “wow, you didn’t even save that much”. What business of it is yours how I save MY money?
Felt incredibly discriminated against

I waited in line for 30 minutes only to be told right before my turn that the lane was closing. Had to go wait another 30 mins in their long lines. I understand if you are short staffed, but why couldn’t they have stopped people from entering the line before they closed it?

Needless to say I will be at loblaws next time

No man will ever satisfy me as much as a Metro cake does thank you to everyone who works in the bakery section

Get my bones for my soup stew etc and also for my dog the butcher very kind and will look if none out front or wrap just one

Very clean, well organized and fully stockrd. All of my needs were met allowing me to shop for the week and self isolate between jobs

Spacious, clean, lots of options. They even had an Indian foods aisle and halal frozen foods. And a lovely selection of flowers. Great experience

Have purchased meat from here before and it's hit or miss, which can be expected from a grocery store. Tonight we bought ribs, which I regularly buy at Butcher shops for comparable prices. The packed side ribs looked decent through the packaging. I brought them home, opened them up, and once I removed the ribs that were folded over top a thin boneless piece, I also found a cartilage and bone filled piece I've never seen before tucked underneath the ribs. The butcher blatantly hid this discarded piece of uncookable protein behind all three racks I purchased which increased the weight (and price). I had to trim off a lot of extra useless meat from something they called St. Louis cut ribs. St Louis cut should already be trimmed- these were not. Not the product I expect for this price!

Great staff, doing the best they can with the restrictions. It breaks my heart to see rude, entitled customers giving already-frazzled employees a hard time.
Better than No Frills, where the staff is actively rude to the customers, no matter how nice you are to them.

First time at this location. Very well organized and covid protocols in place. A great selection of many products. Check out was very fast. Will definitely return.

So disheartened by the service (or lack of) I received this morning. I'm used to the employees not being very engaging with customers or speedy service but it's close to home and its clean so that's why I chose the establishment. Today has draw the line and metro will no longer be my first pick for grocery stores to visit nor will I reccomend your establishment.

This is such a nice store. Clean, fresh produce, a Great deli counter, bakery and a pharmacy. The staff are very nice and helpful!

I think some of the employees don't understand that when there are many different food stores to choose from their jobs aren't all secure, this is one of the most expensive places for food in Bowmanville and the produce is the same quality as the cheaper places.

Everytime we decide to go to this Metro we regret it. The cashier's always take long and, usually, because they are talking to each other.

I love the bakery! They have the best sandwich bread ever! Freshly baked in store. They also have great deals on the butcher section especially different cuts of beef.

Loblaws quality at Walmart prices. I go there primarily for the cold cuts, meats and ready to eat hot meals.

I shop here alot. They have alot of foods not available at other stores for specific diets. Better vegetable department than other grocery stores with organic and regular

It's a big box grocery store, no different than others but more expensive than the one I usually support.

Love going to this location, especially since it is 24 hours. Great selection on quality produce. Also a Tim's in store which benefits the coffee drinkers.

Metro is your average grocery store that sees a lot of traffic in Bowmanville. Conveniently, it connects to the mall.
The store size is large, compared to other locations such as Dundas & Thickson. It also features a wine and beer section in the middle of the aisle.

Love the airmiles campaign that always me to easily accumulate points for shopping. Great space. Love the sales that is offered each week.

Friendly staff. I had a box of glass bottles fall apart on my way our of the store and they gave me a replacement for free and a 5$ gift card to say sorry for the faulty box.

Carries some higher-end products, but WM, No Frills & Freshco still our first choices as Metro is so expensive.

This is my go to grocery store. Great selection of groceries and friendly staff. Always helpful when I ask for help. The have amazing cakes.we get fresh strawberry cheese cakes for holidays made up. Little goodies around the store at holiday times. Offering different things along the way of the year.

My one complaint.no MERRY CHRISTMAS signs although plenty of stuff representing Christmas.candies, flowers, wines and food. This is Bowmanville not that big city to the west. Christmas is NOT a holiday. (Freshco is the same.
Apparently signs come from the head office) Too bad!

Was in and out fast was late night 1130 pm for me only disadvantage wanted advil gels all meds locked up except small low dosage.

Metro is a nice store. The produce was a little off today meaning not all of it looked fresh and crisp. Having said that most of the time there is a good selection.

What a wonderful experience! When it came time to pay, just over $28.00 I couldn't find my wallet, telling the cashier I would have to go to my truck (I was ctually beginning to panic, thinking I had dropped it in Port Hope).
The lady behind me immediately said she would cover it! I am so thankful to her! (Turns out my wallet was in the truck)

Conveniently located on Hwy 2 a couple of blocks east of Liberty street in Bowmanville, this is a large store with plenty of choices. The store is accessible and there is plenty of parking is available. They have a great deli section. Lots of cheeses and the bakery offers a wide variety of cakes, desserts and pastries for the sweet tooth. This location offers self checkout stations for the do it yourselfers, which can be great if you want to avoid long linesups as sometimes there are only one or two checkouts staffed.

I spent 251 dollars today and I just opened a jar of selection marmilade and the seal wasnt great and found some sort of sticker or label in the jam. I will be returning this for a refund and update afterwards

I work midnights and often the best time for me to get my shopping done is early in the morning. There are no registers open when I'm there (between 7: 30 and 8: 00 am) so I have to use the self checkout for a cart full of groceries. It would be much more convenient if I had someone to assist me. Although I will say the food is very good quality. No issues there.

Love their Montreal smoked meat sandwiches.usually find something good on sale.clean.high price.but some good sales.

Thursday mornings are not a good time to get the latest specials. Day old bakery items and produce seem to be on shelves consistently. Deli hot food employees tend to ignore you and could care less about any special.l guess Walmart will be my next stop!

Very good selection of products, especially international foods and specialty items. Also they have a do it yourself bread slicer in the bakery. Wine, beer, butcher, florist, huge deli, pharmacy, and bulk food bins. Their prices can be pretty high though e.g. For produce.

I used to work at this metro and still do a lot of shopping there! Their food quality is just so good and the staff is always willing to help!

Buying alcohol through the self serve check out is very slow you have to wait for someone is free to come over and check your id

Fresh deli section with a good value selection.store is clean nice set up and good selection. BUT PRODUCTS ARE A BIT PRICEY.by comparison to no frills.freshco

Products are good, staff are very friendly on the full serve cash registers.
Unfortunately the move to self checkout has made shopping at this store a bad experience.
I do not work at this Metro store, I do not get paid for checking out my groceries on a self checkout machine. By using self checkout I am contributing to staff reduction in the store.
Stop forcing people to use self checkout by limiting the number of cash registers open. Other grocery stores in Bowmanville do not have self checkout. Metro managers, become concerned with the people employed in your store and keep them working. Eliminate the self checkout area and employ real people to serve your customers.

Honestly. I go for the beer and wine isle, lol. The ladies that work the wine isle are lovely, and the selection of beer is decent as well. I like trying their specials at the deli (they're worth checking out) but I don't necessarily do my grocerie shopping here. $$$

Good, but a little expensive, and I sometimes can't find what I want here. There is another grocery store across town, though, and I often can't find what I want there, either. I'd say that in bowmanville, this is the better option for selection, but you pay for it.

Employees are very pleasant to get along with very knowledgeable with you asking where something is I know whether they have it or not you don't have to go and wait to find out and they're always telling you to have a nice day and make sure want to go back again and again
