Ordered on Uber Eats, some of the best food in the area. Delicious all around. Tender juicy chicken, rice cooked to perfection, fresh vegetables, and soft bread that tasted like it was cooked in moms kitchen. Very fair prices for great food.
I recently dined at Mezbaan and it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was cozy, and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious. Overall a must visit for anyone looking for authentic afghan food.
First star is for the cleanliness of Fazeels restaurant Second star is for the fast service. I ordered the Shomi Kebabs, and mantu for a side. Third star is for Fazeel and his servers friendliness and professionalism. Fourth star is for the serving sizes and price point. Thank the last star is for the quality and flavor of the foods. By far the best kebab I have ever had, the Naan was made perfectly too, not "turn the bag clear" greasy, but also not dry bread. This was the first time I had tried Mantu and it was divine. The right amount of spice to let me know there's spice in it, but not taking over the entire flavor spectrum. Would recommend that you make a visit here.
Amazing, delicious and affordable plates! Absolutely LOVE their salad dressing (with a hint of what I believe to be dill?) The rice is so fragrant and tasty, definitely worth it if you love middle eastern cuisine!
Atmosphere - it's a small quaint restaurant and most of the guests are from the SW Asia region, always a good sign. Service lacks when it gets busy, nothing that can't be fixed with a couple extra people, still friendly. Now the food.from all the Afghan restaurants I've eaten at outside of Afghanistan, it is the closest to the real thing and tastes as good. I understand ingredients, especially the proteins, will be different because of the land the animals feed on, but these guys are so close to not knowing you weren't eating in Afghanistan. Menu, too to bottom, great flavor and execution. If you already enjoy Afghan food GO, if you haven't tried Afghan food GO, try it, you'll understand the 5 star rating.
Food is just below average in taste, not much flavor in there dishes. The meat used is really low grade. Taste a bit stale. Lastly, the two girls on staff appears to be really miserable. No customer service skills at all.
Not sure about all the comments saying “rude staff”. I went for my first time today, and the young lady working the cash and the woman serving, were both very nice to me, smiling, like they were happy that I had interest in trying their culture/food. Now at home, try the food, oh my goodness, it is so good. I got the chicken thigh kebab and it came with all the sides, rice, salad and naan. I ordered garlic fries and they are so good. Will definitely be returning. I’ve been eyeing this place for so long, wish I tried it sooner. It’s like my meal was cooked at home.
The staff was very welcoming and friendly especially after a long day of fasting. The food was delicious as always. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
The food is authentic, and fresh well prepared, and well cooked, you can taste the fire on the chaplee, with great combination of spices, the rice is also very tasty, all in all great experience … I do highly recommend this place.and there family based operations… and good luck
The food served was good.customer service is not satisfactory. After the order.no one came to the table to check if anything needed.we ordered total 7 dinners plates. They just served two naan bowls with minimal numbers. I believe one diner plate is with one naan.but when we asked for some more naan.they told they will charge extra. No afghan tomato sauce was provided.
Amazing Afghani food, especially the bread was fresh and soft. The chicken kabobs are great and make a great combo with rice. The beef sheekh kabobs were a bit bland but they arent too bad either. And they serve generous quantity for the price.
This was our first time trying out Mezbaan while traveling to Ottawa. We ordered their chicken shami kebab plate and half tandoori chicken plate. We upgraded the rice to Qabuli rice. We ordered one drink (a can of pop) that was shared. The quantity and the quality of the good was great! The naan was soft and prepared fresh. Chicken tandoori came apart quite easily and tasted exceptionally good! Amazing flavors! The chicken shami kebab plate was delicious as well. The whole meal was prepared well and was fresh! We loved the salad that came with it and the Qabuli pulao unlike the ones that we get in Toronto were well flavored! We love our rice and these people certainly know how to make it. The only thing that gave us quite a bit of shock was the price that we had to pay for the meal. A delicious meal no doubt but a very expensive one (approx $50). I know we upgraded the rice for both the plates but did not expect such a huge difference to come out of it. Other than that the service was very friendly, welcoming and professional. Definitely do recommend them but I do hope they reconsider their pricing!
The customer service was outstanding (friendly, quick and great communication). I purchased the family pack for 5 people. The food was delicious, fresh and warm. I will definitely be going here again. So excited to have Afghan cuisine in the Orléans area.
It's one of my favorite restaurants in Ottawa, which is literally one of the top five family restaurants here, I strongly recommend it for all of the people who are looking for quality and quality food. Thank you, and please keep going as usual!
