As my friends tell me “you’re crafty”, I’ll use my “status” to share this review.
Definitely one of the best places to find EVERYTHING for handmade things.
Seasonal decorations, cooking accessories, knitting, art projects - you name it!
I guess it’s the main thing to go for materials and inspiration.
Crave to try their master classes and, who knows, maybe even to make a birthday party for a little ones.

Visited Michaels on John street with the idea to frame sports memorabilia. The girl at the custom framing desk (Chloe) was so friendly and kind. She took the time to listen and discuss all possible options. I trusted her with the project and a couple weeks later I received my custom frame. It is amazing. Her work is spectacular. Chloe is extremely talented. She seemed very humble so likely would not agree but I would consider her an expert. Thank you Chloe!

What a waste of time. Sorry to bother your staff person attending to the fabric dept. No stock no sale.

Solid place for crafting supplies. Always have coupons. I buy perler beads to make video game sprites.

I love the options.pick up in store or shop if I wish to. The aisles are wide and accommodate my rollator with ease and the staff are very welcoming. As a frequent yarn purchaser I appreciate their services. They always greet me as I enter and thank me as I leave.

The good: Very friendly and helpful staff.

The bad: Looking for a modern simple picture frame. 48” by 48”, 1.25” x 1” thick, meant it had to be custom. Chose a simple flat black frame, made of mdf, glued and stapled corners. Acrylic cover not glass…. $1700!? For glued and stapled mdf? A 49” x 97” sheet only cost $80, that would make 19 frames at a cost of $4.75 each. How is this basic frame with a $20 sheet of acrylic $1700. Absurdly overpriced, clearly meant to gouge customers who don’t know any better. Very disappointing to see.

This is my usual go to store for basic crafting needs, from simple tools to inexpensive yarn or materials, I can usually find it here. The yarn quality isn't the best and I'm fairly certain it's almost all acrylic, but you get what you pay for. The staff at this location is also extremely friendly and helpful, as sometimes it can be hard to find certain items on your own.

Very disappointed with their Christmas Tree Ornament offerings. Only a partial shelf with minimal selections.

Three floors of art stuff! Who thought there's that many items to fill in every square foot of this former Chapters flagship space. A steady stream of customers too. Seems out of place against the backdrop of Queen street but I guess it still feels right with the feel of the community and proximity of the AGO and OCAD.

I love Michaels, this Michaels exceeded my expectations. Their staff asked me if I needed help, helped me look for an out of season item and were very friendly. Lots of love for this location

Of all Michael's stores, this is the best. It has two floors that are an artist or crafter paradise. Everything is very well organized, tidy and clean.

Three floors well stocked with all your arts and craft needs. Many staff on-site to answer questions and provide guidance. Clearance sales, loyalty program and weekly deals.

A lot of selection and a lot of level's. Great store and great location. If you are handicapped there is no elevator. Thing there also is a washroom, which is cool.

Underwhelming selection of Christmas stuff (sorry to whoever did the Christmas display). But overall a good store for anyone who needs specific arts supplies. Sorry, not just a good store, a haven.

I had to buy a bunch of goggles for my coworkers, I could only find 4 pairs. Jen was an angel and helped me check if they had any extra ones, even though she could only find an extra pair I really appreciated it!

We came here while visiting downtown Toronto to try and find some stickers for our son.

Talk about hitting the mother-load of stickers. They were all $1 and the selection was massive, much like the store.

This store has a huge selection of everything. It's spread out nicely and the prices and service was very good.

Highly recommend.

I had an online pickup order and I also was buying something else at the cash and the girl was very helpful with getting both things for me, even despite the phone ringing and she was the only cashier at the moment and her line was growing. I appreciated her service. Also love how big this Michaels is and love perusing the aisles when I have time. It is super helpful they are open with later evening hours for after-work shoppers.

Cashier was the nicest person I've ever met! Very friendly and passionate. I would definitely come back to this location if I need anything.

The location is great for people living downtown and is easy to get to. It’s a large store with different levels. However, it’s not very well organized and it’s hard to find what you are looking for. It’s also difficult to find an employee to help if you have questions.

Always great sales here (such as 30% off all paints and brushes and canvas buy one and second one is free).
I was here yesterday and a had a very lovely lady offer me a lot of assistance with the sales and location of the products:)
Also everything is very well merchandised and well organized

Went twice in the the last few weeks and escalator was not working and it was stifling hot in store. By the time we got the the third floor to finish our craft supply shopping both my Mother and I felt sick to our stomachs due to the heat. Wearing a mask is difficult enough when you have asthma in the summer, but when its extremely hot and there's no air flow it's awful. It was 27°c outside that last day we went and still more refreshing out then in that store. It was so hot the previous week, that an employee had a small personal hand fan to cool her self at the cash. Also either get the escalator fix or at least put a sign as to where the elevator is.

Excellent customer service. Very helpful individual who tried over and over again for a solution to my problem well past what most people in other stores of any kind would try but this individual female would not give up in trying to solve my problem which was so impressive that she deserves a promotion. Younger girl with a thinner frame and long light hair. So friendly it's amazing but her professionalism and customer service is off the charts. Congratulations to her and her amazing service, the HR department that hired her, the people that trained her, and the managers that hopefully recognize her I will give her a very big promotion one day and that includes both a monetary promotion and a promotion to be a manager of some sort.

She was simply outstanding. And I'm talking about the downtown location near the Scotia Bank movie theaters.

My 5+ visits over the last month have been nothing short of fantastic. Every single staff member on this team goes above and beyond to help artists find solutions and to make the customer's experience the best possible. The framing department is friendly and professional, and the management was kind enough to price match several items for me. I look forward to each visit here.

The store and very neat and tidy and the prices can be reasonable with a coupon. The selection is great, I have zero issues finding what I need. However I feel mixed about the customer service. My experiences was great when I asked for a certain item. The employee went into the back and got me the item, she was very warm and friendly. She even left my items at the cashier so I didn't have to carry the item around. However on the other hand recently when I went another employee was very condescending when I asked her a question. She also looked very upset and annoyed.

Excellent Michael's store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They had everything I needed for my embroidery project. 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve gone to Michaels for custom framing twice and spent more than $600 with them for simple framing projects. Both times I was uncomfortable with the process - while friendly, the staff assume you already know the terminology they use for framing, which makes it very difficult to communicate with them. They didn’t offer suggestions and it was a painful process to realize that all I needed was some simple matting cut by the store. The process of getting the matting was confusing: when I was shown a simulation of what the matting would look like with my photos, the photos looked cut off/cropped - when I said that wouldn’t work, I was told not to look at the photos and only focus on the matting - how am I supposed to know if the measurements are right? (Spoiler alert: some of the measurements were wrong)

I had to wait 2 weeks to receive my simple matting - when I called at the end of the 2 weeks, it seemed like they had forgotten about it and had to scramble to get it done. I just picked it up and there is one matting completely off (not even the right frame size) and others with some sloppy-looking measurements taken. I very rarely complain about things like this, but this has taken up a lot of my time and has been an expensive experience!

Special shoutout to Dionne and Tanya! Hands down, amazing customer experience. The store closes at 6PM and I arrived at 6: 10PM and they were very patient and kind to wait for me. They went above and beyond when I noticed a defect on the item I purchased, and upgraded me to a better product! They've won the heart of a loyal customer today!

I am incredibly sad and disappointed by my experience. I placed an online order for curbside pick-up, then went to Michael's to pick up my order. I waited outside for nearly an hour. After the store closed, someone came outside to tell me that there was a problem with my order and that I was not going to get it today. The only thing I could do was to call customer service the next morning and when I did, I got unlucky again and the person helping me was not nice and ended the call abruptly before I could even place my order again. This was a headache and a half for nothing.

Friendly service, quick response on the phones. Part of my order got cancelled due to no stock and when I called for a replacement option the staff was really knowledgeable and gave me something of equal value. Pick up option is great, someone was at the door so it went smoothly.

I went to Michaels to buy some acrollyc colors and brushes for bottle crafting, and I got lost after seeing the varieties. Starting from gloss, mat finish, satin, I collected a few of them. However the brushes price was little high. Loved a few antique photo frame designs along many customizable designs.

Its a great place for Arts and Crafters but watch out for the prices and definitely use their coupons to save

This location is MASSIVE and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I've been unlucky that the things I want are often out/ low in stock but maybe I need to pick less popular crafts?

Big store but limited stock. Fast service but store is a bit hard to navigate. Have huge parking space

Despite the smaller number of staff to assist, I was able to find everything I was looking for.

The shelves were fully stocked. I checked online for the item I wanted before I went to the store. The website said aisle 9, and it was in aisle 9. I was in and out in 10 minutes.
