Came to Hamilton for work and all the locals pointed me here for lunch. Place had a real family feel to it and the sub was simply classic. I tried their Apollo sub and it was perfect.

I was excited to try the subs here however the experience was completely underwhelming. The mixed subs were 3/10 at best. Wouldn’t dine there again especially since there are so many great sub shops in Hamilton. The service could be a lot friendlier.

We ordered two torpedo subs Sunday, October 1 got to work for lunch to eat our subs. The ham tasted off when I called the next day. They asked me if I still had the sub and which I’m thinking well that’s 12 hours later no I don’t have the sub it’s obviously thrown in the garbage And without proof of the sub I get nothing accomplished so I think their customer service is not the greatest mind you I will see. I’ve never had a problem with their subs before, but I am behold my problem did arise. They pretty much close the door in my face so I haven’t said this I will no longer be a Mikes patron. I will find other place to get a good sub.

Everything was amazing, the lady that made our subs was super friendly and clearly cares about making the customer happy! I’m not sure her name but I mistakenly took a picture of her when trying to take a pic of the menu. She’s got dark brown hair we were comparing to black. 10/10 will 100% be coming back just for the great service:)

Best place in city to get subs, best price, best tasting, great service you have to try it.

I went here around 9: 30pm on March 20th 2022 (about 3 hours before the mask mandate lifted). I parked my car a short walk away, and realized partway there I forgot my mask while my girlfriend had hers. I thought it wouldn't be an issue. As soon as I walked in the employee (tall blonde gentleman) immediately said "you need a mask, there's a sign on the door". I said "man I just forgot it in the car, the mandate lifts tomorrow". He said quickly and aggressively "I don't care, you can get a mask or get out". I tried to say "I have no problem with wearing masks if you have an extra, Im not trying to make a statement here" but he just repeated himself, clearly relishing getting to tell somebody off. I looked over at the girl making a sub who seemed at a loss for words (and maybe used to his behaviour). I decided to go to Mr. Sub instead. So while I cannot speak on the quality of their subs, I know that this is honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I am not an anti masker or anti vaxxer of any kind, just thought the guy would cut me some slack! I genuinely thought the guy wanted to fight me just because I forgot my mask in the car lol sad!

Rating dropped because posted hours aren't true anymore. Even when you call and confirm the closing time, don't believe them, they will lie to you. Realistic expectations are that they now close 1 hour sooner.

Place rules, last of an era. Been going for years and that old school style is the best. I would love a t shirt.

If you're in the mood for a classic sub-shop style submarine sandwich, Mike's Subs will definitely satisfy. Their assorted sub is awesome, there's nothing I don't like about it. Will always grab one when I'm in the area.

I ordered a Hero for my first visit to Mike's Subs today - The sandwich was made with fresh ingredients - and then the artist behind the glass added a second layer of meat, veggies, and cheese to the sandwich. I had no idea what I had signed on for. This glorious sandwich was one of the finest subs I have ever had - I can't wait to go back.

Unbelievable - best Subs and value ever……BUT would gladly pay double for these great old school submarine sandwiches.

The best assorted sub in the country. There is no Business in this counrty that makes a better sub. Some of the staff could be a lot friendlier other than That They are the BEST period

Quality of subs have gone downhill, price is WAY inflated, owner was working on a Sunday afternoon and gave my husband the worst service. Giving a half piece of cheese and a small dried out piece of turkey on a footlong sub then chanrging $14 is ridiculous. Tried to support a local business but sadly won't be returning.

Not sure how I feel.
I went to the website. Prices were cheap. So I went to the Ottawa location (thats the site i looked at) and got a sub.
Came up to $3 more then the website said.
So either site needs updating or I got scammed.
Cold mixed $5.95 + $. 2.3 0extra meat + 13% HST = $8.55
My order was $10.42

Absolutely best sub i have had in a very long time! Delicious fresh bread and tomatoes, piled high in meat and absoltuely wonderful, truly enjoyed

If you want the CLASSIC style sub (not subway) than this is the spot for you, I love the bun, the shredded lettuce, classic deli meats, the sub sauce etc, it even has the classic sub shop smell that I remember from the 80s as a teenager. I'm going to get a mixed sub for lunch and my work dinner for tonight. Make it a combo with lays classic chips and a canned pop for a complete cmeal. YUM! Chain store shops got nothing on Mike's. Period.

Favourite sub shops in hamilton. No bells and whistles just a good sub. Whenever my son comes back into the country it's a must to get at least one mixed sub whiles he's here and one for the flight home!

Been going to Mike’s since 1980, they even had a nice location back then on Queenston Road.
Subs are great, every bite reminds me of the retro days in the 80’s.

Employees attitude is a solid -10/10, made me feel unwanted for grabbing a sub after work. Also they microwave their hot subs, not really sure how a toaster oven is so hard to obtain but please invest in one. Would've rated. 5 if I could, I guess I am somewhat full.

This place is the best! I love living close by so I can walk down whenever I have a craving for a sub. Prices are fair and the employees are very nice and fast. Great place.
