Horrible experiences the last two times. I'll be driving to Oakville from now on. Even my specialist at Oakville rolls her eyes when you bring up MDH. I don't know a single person who has nice things to say about this place.
If you want to die this is the place for you.

My wife fell on trail of Hilton falls got wounded and stuck between rocks on 9/19/23 around noon time. Three paramedics arrived in reasonable time were friendly and well trained. They pulled my wife from precariously steep trail-side and transported her to hospital. By the time I arrived she was in a bed wound dressed. The nurse attending my wife Ismat was the best I have come across. She kept cool and remained attentive to her condition and needs. I can't say same about the next nurse Raman, just to put mildly her heart is not in nursing. Thanks to Dr. Khalid, X ray and CT scan staff all were five star except the last nurse

So DISAPPOINTING, they are just lazy to work, even when there almost no patients, still taking forever and that’s their strategy to make people hate going and accordingly they don’t work only getting paid! In addition to that it’s so dirty napkins on the floor in the blue zone, and hair all over the floor in my ER room. Just disgusting!

Terrible doctors terrible hospital. Showed up with a dislocated shoulder was told it was a deep tissue injury. What a joke if your looking for any help don't go here
05 August 2023 21:38

The woman who was running the switchboard on Friday, May 26 at 10: 00 pm needs retraining. She redirected me to the wrong department and the wrong hospital (Oakville hospital) three times. That, in and of itself, is bad, but her attitude is even worse. She hangs up on you mid-sentence and gets frustrated at you when you try to explain to her what you need (and then still gets is wrong). Unprofessional, abrasive and down right rude. What an unpleasant woman.

Good hospital but severely understaffed some nights. A few hours after giving birth while still in the hospital, my newborn started chocking. I pressed the emergency button, noone came. I ran to the reception area noone was there, I called out noone came. I started giving back blows to the baby, and fortunately the chocking stopped. The nurse showed up 10-15 minutes later. She said she was the only nurse in that night! And that she was busy giving breastfeeding guidance to another mother (non-urgent). She prioritized that over an emergency!

I was here March 29 2021. I fell an injured my arm. I had a MRI, x-rays, urine and blood. Sent me home in a sling. I needed a cast. I infact tore my arm in 3 places. Waited so long too see an Orthapedic surgeon. 3 months. He, was no help either. My arm is damaged for life. I can't hold anything. And, constant pain. This place, is negligent. Go to Hell!

Staff in emergency don't care about patients.

This hospital has no emergency dept. The staff are missing, which is ridiculous for an emergency dept.and tons of attitude! Extremely rude!
You'd think you're eating here their food or something

If you see a single staff member who cares.consider yourself veryyyyy lucky!

I passed out and hit my head and a day later went to to check it out. The doctor was extremely dismissive and sent me home saying I was fine and did not need any other service. A friend of mine also went to this hospital for her chronic pain and they told her the exact same thing. Awful service here
29 March 2023 20:22
This is extremely overdue, but given the current experiences at other hospitals, this deserves to be said.
I had my son at this hospital in November 2018. There was one specific nurse that was with me and my husband the entire time, and she was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. I am certain her name was Tracy. I wonder if she still remains, because I would go and visit her to show my appreciation. I wish more nurses were like you. She saw that I was scared and she was tactful in managing my worries. She made the experience so much better for me, and I’m truly grateful. If I do get a response I would love to know if she is still at Milton Hospital. I’d love to pay her a visit.
14 March 2023 13:23
Some of the Staff is extremely rude. They are only there to kill the time. Highly disappointed
03 February 2023 2:36
Very unfortunate that the staff do not care regarding religious values. Upon requesting so many times they still served MEAT when we simply requested VEGETARIAN FOOD.

I had baby boy on 24 December 2022. Everyone in the Maternal and Newborn unit was very kind and wonderful. When I was in labor, the support from nurses were amazing, due to some complication I ended up in C-section but Dr. Hunter explained me everything very nicely. I wanted to say big Thank you to Nurse Meghan, Zanet, IV, Karen and all other nurses who supported me during my delivery, postpartum. All the services in the hospital was very good.

Went to the Cariology dept.today to check on a requisition for a TTE test that should have been sent to Oakville. The woman there was super rude and dismissive. She looked at me like I was not speaking English and outright LIED saying it takes two weeks to get results. I was not waiting on results! I wanted to know the status of the TTE requisition! When I said the word TTE, she looked at her colleague like "Wha? ". WOW, just wow! This is my heart and my health in the hands of these irresponsible, uncaring individuals!

My mother is an elderly patient and since she has been admitted, I get cold shoulder from nurses and staff in this hospital. Nurses are chit-chatting and typing all day as if they work in an office not hospital. They provide zero care. I just found a big bruise on my mom's body and found out she had fallen either out of her bed or her wheelchair and no one seem to know the story. I wasn't notified and they kept it from me until i saw it and questioned it. Her wheelchair is brocken and looks like it just got back from WW2. There seem to be favourtism played when it comes to where patients are kept and for how long. It's appalling to know that this is also happening in a place where healing should be the priority.not who you know, your nationality or what status you have in life. God forbid if you speak out or complain. It only gets worst from there.

ER Left me a voicemail saying my 2 year old
has pneumonia at 4AM when I called back (5 times) nobody answered, when I called unknown they answered right away.she was laughing on the phone saying “oh it was on silent “ didn’t even apologize or NOTHING! HOW CAN YOU LEAVE AN IMPORTANT VOICEMAIL AND THEN NOT ANSWER MY CALL? It was very obvious they were ignoring me. So rude and pure neglect ER ladies keep chitchatting about their love lives behind the desk while my son was still waiting on some TYLENOL crying and squirming in pain!
dr. Samantha (black lady with glasses) was so rude and handled my toddler with poor bedside manners. NOT ONLY DID SHE SEE THE X-RAY AND DID NOT NOTIFY ME IN PERSON.she visited us after we took X-ray pictures, and didn’t take a look at them before she entered the room… but she left me a voicemail!
I am fuming because of the experience I had today. What kind of uneducated, can barely speak up lady gave her scrubs and a title DR!? !
She was completely rude and was ready to jab my baby with needles and a covid test WITHOUT even asking for any symptoms he had.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER… NOT recommending this hospital, staff are there to get paid, not to help you feel better.
19 December 2022 4:23
I hope some authorities take some action on this hospital.

What a unprofessional place I have seen.
Leaving this er because I have chest pain to see someone else. I hope they suffer like this too how patients are suffering.
16 December 2022 22:35
This is worst emergency ER place ever you think off. I don’t blame Milton hospital in low medical service offered for Milton residents. I do blame Halton health district on lack of quality, service and unprofessional DRs ‘physician’ in ER who have been hired on this hospital. I am not pointing to any of surgeon or specialized Dr, my message here goes to triage physician Drs in this emergency area. Yesterday my wife and I spent 1130 hours in Milton hospital waiting on emergency ER for SKY Mercey to help my wife. We’ve been waiting and waiting hours and hours watching ER Dr chatting, socializing and joking around for hours. Indeed Unprofessional and careless Drs in Milton emergency, these ER DRs should be early laid off with no exception, sit home for early retirement will definitely save other lives while giving the opportunity to fresh graduate talented Drs who do care about patients. I told one of Dr yesterday that I would rather to die other than waiting 12 hours with pain. She said I can’t do anything. My wife yesterday was struggling with pain for long hours in emergency, no one is willing to come by to check on her with long waiting time. When I asked one of Dr if he can assist my wife as we’ve been waiting long hours and no one showed up as yet, his response was unprofessional with rudeness tone ‘ you need to wait like others’. I told him, Totally understand but I am here for almost 12 hours.how much time you want me to wait ‘weeks’? He didn’t care at all, he simply walked off. It is indeed unpleasant awful experience, hope never come again to this Milton medical ‘park’. Milton residents deserved better. Last advise whoever visits Milton hospital bring your blanket, beds, PlayStation, tv, phone chargers, headsets and food this way you’re prepared to stay longer time of period in this camping hospital as seems 12 hours is normal waiting time on the emergency. Hope this message goes to Halton medical district. A message to physicians in emergency Milton “ imagine these patients who are waiting in ER is one of your family members, waiting in area for long hours with sharp pain, would you step up and help them fast or ignore their pain? The answer is certainly yes, you’ll step up with full care to ensure their pain relieved. Consider these sick strangers in ER emergency is one of your family member and not piece of meat with medical gown on. I believe everyone deserves better service same as your family members and friends. ”

Shout out! It doesn’t sound right to fly other countries for looking for simple and fair treatment for our family members.

Many thanks for lack of health service and carelessness in ER health sector. We simply deserve better service.

The worst ultrasound experience my wife an i had, staff with attitude and have preferences. Some related person to someone who works there was admitted in before me just because she is related to a worker there.

I will have this experience mentioned to go public for a possible investigation.

The woman who went in before my wife was given the privilege to see her baby through the ultrasound and my wife was denied in a very rude way. And when i told the person who was rude to my wife about the other patient that was able to see the baby, i was answered with ignorance.

August 14th 2022, my visit with my infant took 8 hours. We all know what the problem is, are we angry enough to make change comeabout?
08 October 2022 11:40
We came here to get help instead it is just an unwelcome stay. My friend may have a concussion and they are making him sit there and wait. Some are very rude aswell I get your job is hard but no where does it say to speak and not be kinda obviously I won’t name them here but get your staff to just be nicer. I get your tired but you obviously got this job for a reason so do it!

Staff members not wearing masks, even though they work in a hospital?
Currently in the blue zone (12: 20am) waiting for an x-ray, been waiting in b zone for 45 min. Staff guy at desk was not wearing a mask, and was shooting around a nerf gun, and throwing around a foam football. I heard staff talking about not taking patients in the last 30 minutes of the shift, also heard staff joking about how bad an elderly woman’s vision was?
Not a good experience.

Excellent team of doctors and nurses. My daughter had her first baby and the experience was really good. I was able to be with her as a second support person, Wich is very important for first time mithers. She had a long labor but nurses and doctors were fantastic, very helpful and caring. Also the cleanliness is outstanding.

I rushed my 6 yr old daughter to ER due to allergic reaction, she was complaining of throat tightness, vomiting, eyes swelling and rashes I am grateful that she was seen immediately. Dr Gizzi was excellent, she put my mind at ease after she saw my daughter. She explained things clearly, compassionate and very good with my daughter. And also the male nurse (i didn’t get his name) he’s the one who took us to another room, and the charge nurse Robyn, they’re both excellent, very professional and kind, they’re patient while taking my daughter’s vital sign. Thank you so much! God bless you!

This is long over due but better late than never. I had appendicitis for christmas 6 mths ago. After 6 hours in emergency, I was finally admitted around midnight where Nurse Windy and buddy Nurse Lily (I think) took care of me all night, checking every hour and worked on bringing down my fever. By morning I was a lot more comfortable. Laparoscopy was done around midday when Dr. Diana Carter found the appendix had started to perforate. The work she did was amazing, her non-invasive procedure really worked well. Recovery time was really fast, I was up and about within hours. I am so grateful Milton Hospital had retained such an proficient doctor. I would also like to thank Nurse Belrose, Nurse Tia and Nurse Nicole for making my rest of my short stay comfortable. The work you do is beyond words. Thank you so very much.
10 September 2022 2:07
Dr. S. Hyunh (I believe and hope) is a rockstar! Was in the ER for what she diagnosed was Foot, Hand and Mouth Disease and she was to the point, compassionate and genuine when answering my questions. My very best to her and the rest at Milton Hospital.

If you suffer from Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), DO NOT go here!
Go to to St. Michael's, Toronto.
Was in ER on Aug 1,2022 @10.30AM with 10/10 pain and no sleep after 2 Percocets every 4 hours for 2 days.
They gave me Morphine through IV and did blood tests and CT only to tell me after 6 Hours that they can't drain the area and I should go to St. Micheal's. If you can't do the basic that this condition requires why even bother admitting to ER.
Also, it took 2 hours from entering ER to getting a bed to lie down on. When all the nurses could see how much pain I was in and I couldn't sit because of a recent surgery. They kept me standing.
The rudeness of nurses is not something I need to reiterate because there are other reviews complaining the same.
All in all go to Oakville at the least.
Get well soon everyone.

My 93yr.old mother has been a patient for going on 4 weeks. What has made this ordeal bearable is the excellent care she has received from ALL the staff. I wish I could remember everyone’s name because I would want to let them know what a difference they have made in the quality of care they have provided. A special shout-out to Dr. Marshall and Dr. Anderson. Fantastic communication skills! And to nurse Joanna who calls my mother “beautiful “ and me, Miss Diane. A small but intimate gesture that makes us feel less than a barcode and more like a person. Thank you all.

My experience being admitted to this hospital has been one of the worse experiences of my life. Im currently admitted for pancreatitis and the nurses are neglecting my needs to treatment and rehabilitation. The nurse “Marielle” on unit 35 had been giving me the cold shoulder, attitude, having me wait extended period amounts of time to be medicated and taken care of for reasons beyond my understanding. Yesterday (july 26,2022) i had asked her for my medication and she told me she was going to get my nurse. I was in excruciating pain and she did not return until an hour and 15 minutes since the last time she had told me she was getting my nurse to look after me. As she returns (without “my nurse”) she than proceeds to ask me if i need medication. I responded yes i do as I’ve told you this over an hour ago. She blew up in a rage and yelled” we’re busy and I’m not even your nurse”. She told me not to speak to her that way and persisted on arguing with me until another nurse by the name “iryin” came and assisted me. Now the night shift has come around and now there is a nurse by the name Portia who had her earpods in the entire shift and was confused with the iv cords when it was time to hook me up to medication and the drip for fluids. I started to experience a lot of bloating and pain. I asked her if there was anything she can do to relieve me of this pain and she was not helpful or knowledgeable about anything. Instead she insisted to stay in her conversation with her EarPods in and only offered to take out the iv and that i should speak to my doctor the following day. It’s now 7: 55 am and i am laying here with no medication, no fluids, no help even after ringing the emergency button twice. This is unprofessional and mistreatment to patients who are trusting these nurses with their life. This is not right and someone could possibly die under these conditions.

Transferred my mother to Hamilton without notifying me. I am her next of kin. When I called to check up on her they told me she was discharged and had no other info for me, then switchboard told me to call back in an hour. My brother tracked down my mom in hamilton general but wow not impressed with Milton Hospital at all.
20 August 2022 4:37
It would be great if the nurses stopped socializing and actually did their job, they are the rudest people I've ever met. All they do is spend time talking to each other and on their personal phones, I would never recommend this hospital. Plus they only had one nurse in the emergency department doing the initial check-in and also doing triage. The only person that made my experience good was Lindsay who took my x-ray, fantastic bedside manner.

Extremely slow service in emergency… do not visit the emergency unless you are willing to wait for at least 5 hours.
08 August 2022 20:50
Doctors and nurses are boss in emergency they don't have time to see patients if you say I have been waiting for long they just reply we have only one doctor and soo many patients same situation is everywhere if you wanna go sign the paper and you can go because we are very busy

Lack of patient and family centered care!
I work for a small hospital, we would never treat patients or families this way. I am a long time member of the Milton community and I must say I am disgusted. Please, not for me, but for your future patients and families - please please, do better Milton Hospital, do better!

Non helpful and rude emergency staff.
No one is at the hospital for leisure
Should learn to choose wiser words. Being in a professional environment answers like I can’t help you or I don’t know or I’ll come when I have time
Do not sound appropriate
We are there to seek help not to be bashed for no reason, bashed for asking for asking medicine or pressing a nurse call button, I am not there to witness unkind gestures of your staff showing me dramatic eyes roll or whatever gesture
You are working at a hospital to help people suffering. Have your ideology right
that’s the attitude I have experienced over and over again. Nothing to be as a specific case
It’s the general atitude of people there
03 August 2022 12:17
Had to visit multiple times to the emergency just because they failed to send the referral on the first time to the surgeon and above all they can’t be reached over the phone at all, if we are not on top of our follow up with doctors and trust that they have done their job unfortunately it is not. I really hope that me or my family doesn’t have to come here again with such negligent workers around!

I am giving 5 stars only and only for Dr Brittany Aziz. I have been having chronic cough after covid. Every 15 days I get these cough attacks and it is unbearable for me as I cannot sleep.
I explained her my situation. She said ER has limited resources and she cannot do much about it however She was very extremely understanding. Though my issue could not be diagnosed at the emergency ward, she was still kind to explain what could be the possible reasons for my chronic cough. She went ahead and scheduled my X-ray the same day and she gave me the results that my x-ray looks good. She also gave me two medications. As I had tried all medications I was okay to try these ones as well. She gave me a nasal drop and a tablet and asked me give it a try. She also mentioned that I should be following up with my family doctor.
Dr Brittany lent me a patient ear and she let me speak about my issues. I don’t know if those medicines will work on me or not. But I am grateful towards Dr Brittany for understanding me and not shooing me away. Thank you Dr Brittany.

I moved to Milton almost 2 years ago and this hospital somehow does not fail to disappoint me from than the last time, I am very serious. We went from the nurse getting mad at my wife for asking her for help when she was screaming in pain. She absolutely ignored the fact that we were in pain. I went up to her and I knew she was going to act worst so I asked sooo nicely if she had the chance to give my wife her pain medication the doctor prescribed until the blood work came and she just yelled and said sir you have to wait. About 2 hours late me when the doctor showed up and found out we didn’t get the pain medication, she apologized but at this time my wife had been in pain for 2 hours she didn’t need too. Today also, I AM HERE RIGHT NOW and told the staff in front we have been waiting for over 3 hours and of course got a snarky response. Of course I stayed quiet for it not to get worst, she asked my wife’s name and said “ oh you guys are just here for results, let me check if they came in, oh yes they did a while ago” as if she missed it and will notify the doctor now. Did we just waste an additional 2 hours? There’s also a woman here crying in pain and the staff in the front is acting as of nothings happening? ANYONE READING STAY AWAY!

I took my wife to the Milton Hospital emergency in afternoon on June 3rd, 2022, after she started experiencing severe pain in her right ankle. The pain started after my wife twisted her leg while walking up the stairs.

After waiting for more than 2 hours, the Xray was taken twice. After which we had to wait another 1.5hrs to see the emergency doctor. The doctor saw the x-rays and right away told her that there is a fracture on the right ankle and that she would require an air cast boot. The boot will have to stay on for few weeks, she will also need to buy crutches and will have to take high pain killers.

On June 7th, 2022, my wife had an appointment at Milton Hospital Fracture clinic to see a specialist for a review. The specialist told her that she doesn’t have fracture on her ankle and suggested she should remove the air cast boot because it makes her ankle worse, and her mobility will be affected. Now this was a huge shock and quite disturbing. She asked the specialist why the doctor on duty in emergency gave her wrong information about the ankle fracture, his exact reply was “well the emergency doctors aren’t experts or experienced enough when it comes to fractures”. Two doctors have different diagnosis on the same X rays.

This was such a disturbing and frustrating experience, because due to the in-correct diagnoses we had to cancel our next week’s flight (for which we will only be receiving a partial refund), our daughter flew in from Ottawa and my son had to take few days off from work.

I asked the specialist if he can see my records and tell me the name of the doctor I saw at the emergency, he replied stating “I can give you the name, but if you think she will get in trouble or get fired then you’re wrong”. Me wanting to know the name of the doctor is NOT to get her in trouble, get her fired or sue her. But wanted to make sure that that doctor is aware of her mistake and that she is more careful with her next patient.

I took my wife there she was in active labour and they refused to admit her because her file was in Brampton hospital.they didn’t even give us the ambulance from milton hospital to Brampton hospital as it was rush hours.while heading to Brampton hospital her water broke in the car.we were lucky that Brampton hospital took us in right away and everything went well from there.but its so sad that Milton hospital saw her situation still they refused to take her in ….

Came to the emergency at 1 AM with a toddler screaming in pain. Triage nurse (Leanne) and front staff were kind and quick (we were shown into the waiting room by 1.20AM). It went all downhill from there. Waited till 3.30 AM, and when I asked the ER nurses if there is any thing I can give my child, the response was that there's other patients with higher acuity and we would be attended to in the presumed order of severity. When I pointed out that service is never usually this slow, I was told I'm lucky to be waiting only for the 2 and half hours so far, and usually it's a lot more?
If that's the case, why is MDH not hiring enough doctors?

I've personally been here during the day and the longest I've been here is less than an hour and half - that too peak pandemic.
There were 2 cases before mine, and 1 doctor apparently on rounds. I'm still waiting half hour later and it appears there other patients who have fallen asleep in the rooms, waiting for a doctor to show up - perhaps that's what the support staff hopes for? That you fall asleep and they can clock out? The late night ER service is terrible. Even if it is 10-15 minutes longer, head to OakvilleTrafalgar. You'll get home soon.

Edit: we were seen shortly after by Dr. Dymytryshyn (hope I spelt that right). The gentleman was quick, kind and efficient. Wish they had more staff like him.
