Loved every bite of our family dinner. Eight of us got together on New Years day and ordered eight different entrees so we could try a variety of dishes. We enjoyed everything we ordered and tried options that are new favorites.
I don’t often return to a restaurant but after my first visit I was thoroughly impressed with the flavour. I returned with a larger party so I had an excuse to order more. Located in a historic building within downtown Fort Erie offering excellent views of the Niagara River. By far the best Chinese food I’ve ever had and one of my favourite restaurants in the area. Ming Teh is a must try!
Straight up, this place is nostalgia. It’s a 1971 Dodge Coronet with green vinyl seating. It’s a ClairTone stereo. It’s Polaroid photos and jerky 8 mm film. It’s grandma dressed up in Sunday best, and it’s the smell of wood paneling and Crown Royal. Straight up, this is comfort food. It’s crispy batter on lemon chicken. It’s egg fried rice with soya sauce and luminescent vegetables. It’s Chinese pancakes served sizzling table side. Its thick hoisin-y sweet and sticky chicken and pork and shrimp. It’s 29 dollar bottles (not glass, bottle) of good ‘Canadian cellared’ wine. Straight up, this is impeccable, friendly, professional service. This is unhurried and measured delivery of your meal with a smile, with genuine care and consideration. Straight up, this is nothing fancy, and thank goodness for that. Places like Ming Teh are fewer and fewer, and you owe it to yourself to stop and savor this roomful of nostalgia and comfort.
I’ve been eating here for over 30 years, but not so much in recent years. Having moved back to the area 4 months ago, have been to Ming Teh several times. It’s terrific. Every time. Pork & pickled cabbage soup, pot stickers are amazing. Love the standard menu items that are always terrific: moo shu, twice cooked pork, tofu & broccoli, shrimp & snow peas, Yang Chow fried rice. Can’t wait to go back for Chinese New Year. Love Ming Teh.
We've gone up to Ming Teh regularly from Buffalo for many years. In addition to other occasions, it is always requested on someone's birthday, and last night we filled out the arriveCAN app and drove up for a wonderful, delicious meal! Being right on the Niagara River is a bonus. The owner and servers are delightful and the authentic Chinese food is the best in the area.
Service with a smile great service and delicious food some wonderfull drinks with most beautifull view of Niagara Falls authentic chinese food a must visit with a visit to Niagara Falls
Amazing! Have lived here all my life and never tried Ming's. Now I'll never eat anywhere else. Hands down best stir fry I've ever had! Thank you for the delicious food and amazing customer service & conversation when I picked up my food!
Years later this is still the best Chinese food I have ever had. We most recently ordered the Peking Duck which was phenomenal! If you're in the area you need to stop here for food.
Sandra and I went to Ming The for lunch today. Something we have done quite often. However, today was special. Wendy actually had the chance to sit and chat with us during lunch. Thank you Wendy for a wonderful lunch. It was great as always.
This was our 2nd time at Ming Teh. The service was exceptionally slow. The steamed dumplings were not soft and pillowy at all.kind of hard.and the accompanying sauce, super salty. Some of the dishes were luke warm but flavor was okay. I will probably return to give them another chance but overall, was quite disappointed with last night's experience
The food was great, but wasn't what i ordered. I had ordered beef and broccoli and ended up with beef and mushrooms or something. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, just not what was ordered.
Went here with my girlfriend and the lady that was working front counter was very rude and pressured us to order our food. Made us feel very uncomfortable. The rice tasted not fresh at all. Probably never coming back again. Nobody has still responded to me review.
Nothing but great stuff to say about this place. Their food tastes amazing and is always fresh. Very clean establishment and the staff are friendly and helpful. The sweet and sour sauce for the chicken balls is home made and worth the trip alone. Before/after your visit, the view of the Niagara river out back is just breathtaking.
Fantastic experience! We came here for dinner on a Sunday night, an hour or so before closing. The place looked very clean from the get go. The owner explain to us several menu items until we found something we liked. The food was delicious and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. We also appciated the attention to detail, including the traditionally decorated, individual porcelain tea cups. Highly recommended!
Many choices of asian food in Fort Erie, but this one honestly is the best. Service 10 location 10.cost 10 and most important food, honestly can’t rate it high enough. Excellent food. 10 being perfect, never had a complaint.
There's a nice view of the river on one side restaurant, the food tastes good but the price is a bit high. If you don't order rice then they still give you a bowl of plain rice with $2 charge without telling you, you'll just see it on the receipt.
Everything was amazing. We ordered take out for 6 people and what we ordered was a perfect amount. Had trouble trying to figure out what to order so they helped us a lot by taking the time to explain the popular items, what flavors are in them, etc based on what we wanted. Such good customer service.
Veg spring rolls, Jasmine Spare Ribs, Lemon Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Spicy Crunchy Ginger Chicken, Yang Chow rice, stir fried noodles.
I do feel as though the portion sizes are much bigger when you dine in. But regardless the food is amazing. My favorite Chinese place in the Niagara region.
Exceptional service Wendy, goes out of her way to make sure that you’re happy my two favourites are moo shoo pork and crunchy beef strips I gave it a five star and I am a tough critic
It’s really good but they forgot the fortune cookies and we didn’t get any chopsticks but like I said still delicious PS their hot and sour sauce tastes like Doritos (not a bad thing) ALSO it was takeout
Never disappointed in the food here. Always delicious. Combined with lovely staff and a beautiful view of the river, it makes for an excellent experience!
LOVE their moo shoo pork pancakes with hoisin sauce and noodles with veggies (mushrooms, carrots, snowpeas, broccoli, onions.). I haven't tried many dishes since I'm hooked on a few. Fresh and delicious (not all deep fried or salty). More expensive than the other Fort Erie Asian restaurants, but this one is my fave! Ming Teh's food just seems healthier and more flavourful, so it's worth it. MmmMmmm
I have been eating here for over 35 years. Was almost weekly until 9/11 when crossing the border took forever. We always get a bunch of "to go" after dinner. We have brought many people with us for their first taste of Ming Teh (Ming Teh virgins) and they always say we have ruined them for any other Chinese food. Including my 84 year old sister-in-law. I have never had a bad meal. The staff is wonderful. Ours friends of course now go on their own, but when we get together for a couples night out, this is where we go. Then we bring back food for ourselves and our kids. When the border reopens, this is where you will find us and our friends.
First time there loved the food they make to order and it was delicious plan on going back. If you go at lunchtime don't be surprised if you have to wait they are busy cooking in the back. We are definitely going back.
The crown jewel of classic Chinese restaurants in the Buffalo/Fort Erie area. The food is always prepared with care and skill, with recipes that were obviously developed by someone with great talent and love for cooking. Everything is a cut above with some truly unique dishes on the menu.
Try the "Fragrant Clouds", a dish made with pork wonton, cucumber, and tomato. It's unlike anything I've seen anywhere else and is absolutely delicious. Other favorites of mine include the Spicy Crunchy Sesame Ginger Chicken, the fried dumplings, and Stir-fried Hot & Sour Beef with Peanuts.
Just a 5 minute drive from the border at the Peace Bridge, this is a must visit restaurant.
We'll cross the border without a second thought just to eat here. They take all the dishes you're familiar with and tweak them up to make them a real experience. It's worth a stop just to see the artwork.
Showed up to eat with my wife, there was no host/hostess so we sat and waited.and waited. 10 minutes went by and nobody came to seat us, so we left and will never return. The restaurant was not busy so there's no excuse.
Authentic Chinese cuisine. Wendy is a great owner.fresh and what a great view of the Niagara River! Moo Shoo Pancakes, incredible! A must have if in Fort Erie!
Even though the waitress was polite, the service was satisfactory at best. However, the food was fairly good which made up for the satisfactory service.
Save your money. Worse service that I ever had. Asked waitress for refill of water several times and never got it I ordered the chewy beef strips and it was awful. It was very hard to chew. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.
Best Chinese restaurant I've ever been. Dishes are cooked with fresh spices food is made fresh to order. Great view of niagara river has been visited by alot of celebrity Goldie Hawn, Robert Redford, Glen Close, Woody Harrelson, Robert Duvall and many more. Robert Duvall mentioned ming teh as being "World Class" I eat this amazing food at least once a week.
I am sure that the food is good, however we do not know. We arrived at 6: 00 and because we did not have a reservation, we were treated as if we did not matter. We had waited to be seated and were told a few minutes and then shown to a table in the main dining room which is fine, but the restaurant was empty and were told that the water view windows were for those who call to reserve. Went by 30 minutes later and restaurant was still empty.
The staff here are really nice, the interior is mellow, the lack of soft music in the back ground made the environment kind of awkward. The food was O K at best. The rice was cold and dry and hard to eat, rice is the star of my meals so I like it soft and fluffy and comforting and this was not it. The kungpao chicken tasted like dirt and expired canned bamboo. We paid $100, and three out everything when we got home. The car smell was heinous from the takeaway.
I also don’t like when the staff take the food from you to package it, I like doing it myself. The chopsticks also seemed old and dirty and were warped making eating difficult.
Disappointing again. Not worth the bridge crossing anymore. This place used to be exceptional.its just average now. This also bugged me- I ordered three main entrees, they charged extra for white rice. I've never seen a Chinese restaurant do that before. Service was adequate but indifferent. Probably won't come back anytime soon.
