Mira Restaurant

I had an amazing time at Mira during a recent visit to Toronto. The food, ambiance, and service was amazing.

The bartender Keenen took care of me and gave me great recommendations for food and cocktails. I ordered for the empanadas, broccolini, and corn. All three dishes were so flavorful and just as Keenen had described them. The restaurant is nicely decorated and provides a nice dining experience whether you are dining alone or with friends. If I am ever back in Toronto I will definitely make my way back to Mira. Ask for Keenen he is an amazing bartender and overall pleasure to talk to.

Great restaurant for a date night or night out with friends. The drink is good. The food is nice and tasty. Service is great!

I'm from Peru, I went there thinking it was Peruvian food, and nothing to do with it, it has nothing Peruvian or the dishes, it's just a bar for young people, the walk here was in vain

We have been planning to visit Mira in a while and finally made it but left very disappointed. The food was mediocre and annoyingly overpriced. The medu has many tapas-style small plates, which we love, but they are priced unjustifiably high. The Salmon Anticucho, for example, which is a very small skewer was $21 and was nothing special. The short rib skewer is $24 and wasn't great at all. Some decent dishes for sure like the Pescado Del Dia (ceviche) but, again, it was $21 for 6-7 tiny slices of fish. Drinks are also marked up higher than in most places.
I have no problem paying a premium when the quality justifies it, but at Mira that just isn't the case

I’ve been here twice this year. Food was consistently delicious and service was very good. Music volume and selection was just right. I especially loved the plantain chips, empanada and the corn side dish.

Amazing Peruvian food! The menu is full of surprises and the food is quite unique. Would come back 100%! The server was very friendly and kept refilling our water.

Mira was a surprising discovery! We were craving some Peruvian food and Google suggested Mira! Tucked away in a quaint little street on Wellington Street, Mira has a beautiful ambience and really good food! The waiter was super nice and courteous as well. The portions look small, but trust me, they're super filling. The chicken empanadas stole the show totally! So flavourful and filling. Definitely going back!

Easy 5/5. Food was amazing and the vibe was fantastic. Service was great and food was flavourful. Get the rib eye. Get the ceviche. Order the chips and extra sauce.

Amazing food with good flavour profiles and well presented! Have been a few times and tried different things including tasting menus and have not been disappointed. The drinks are great too! Overall nice vibe, highly recommend!

We really had a great time and think Mira is one of the best spots in Toronto to dine. The service, cocktails, food and music all combined to create a great dining experience for us. It was my wife's birthday and she loved it! Special shout out to our server Marco who was so helpful with recommendations and attentive. 11/10 across the board!

The food was good, definitely happy with the selection of ceviche available. However, I probably wouldn’t go back. The value that I got for over $100 per person was ok but not great. I can see why people like it though, the ambience is nice and the staff were nice!

Intriguing menue and a chance to try Peruvian-inspired food. Nice interior, pleasant service. Items are on the pricier side especially considering moderate portion sizes. But I would say an entry and a main course should still be enogh to have a good dinner. The only thing I didn't like is that tables are too close to each other a big section of the room is taken up by a large communal table.

The food was delicious. Not as good as the first time I went but definitely worth trying. One of my favourite places in the city just for its hidden location. Try the carpaccio and don't forget their crazy cool desserts

Intimate restaurant, great ambiance and excellent service!
With the menu being tapas style, we ordered a few drinks, 1 appetizer and 2 skewers - per couple.
The food was just enough! I would recommend doing 1 app, 1 skewer, 1 main and 1 side for a couple.

Giving it a 4, because of the drinks. They could have tasted better for the price. The jalapeño tequila drink, tasted more like jalapeño juice. Would recommend sticking to a known cocktail / beer.
But the food was extremely tasty and a very pleasant cuisine!

Gratuity was included since we were a larger group, which the waitress pointed out on the receipt. I appreciated the honesty!

Staff was lovely and food was generally great, but it was not authentic enough for me, and there was little of it. Pisco sour was a disappointment unfortunately. Atmosphere was great though and it is a quiet little place, felt cosy and intimate.

Every dish is bursting with a unique flavour.

Hiramasa was great and the Tigers Milk (a blend of citrus) with Jalapeno was my favourite dressing and paired perfectly with the King Fish.

Corn is a must have side. Truffle flavour is fantastic.

Yucca fries is perfectly fried and very creamy like texture on the inside. Comes with 2 sauces.

Short ribs, wagyu, and rotisserie chicken (Pollo A La Brassa) were spot on! But would probably pass on the rotisserie chicken next time and would like to try the Branzino instead.

Amor Con Coco is loaded with many different chocolate delights and a must try for chocolate lovers. More than enough for 2!

Only con was our table was next to the staircase and I could feel every footstep. Tables are very close together and doesn't leave enough room for social distancing. I was less than 2 feet away from another person. Knocking off 1 star for that.

Nothing but the best things to say - I've been 4 times now and it continues to impress. The food is hands down some of the most delicious I have tasted. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and unbelievably flavourful. We had an experience menu (basic a prix fixe menu) and every single dish was spectacular. Special shoutout to the salmon ceviche, corn, and chicken anticucho.
The vibe is always good and the service is always friendly and knowledgable. It does get expensive (as tapas + drinks often does), but for a treat, I would choose Mira every time. Would recommend enthusiastically.

This Peruvian tapas style restaurant, hidden between King and Wellington street, offers very delicious food. My favourites are
- Hiramasa ceviche (sweet and sour with a spicy kick)
- short ribs anticucho (very tender, flavourful)
- yuca fries (crispy outside, creamy centre)
- corn (can’t describe how much I love the flavour with the small crunchy kernels, try it!)

Wagyu tataki was great too but sometimes overpowered by the crispy shallots and couldn’t really taste the original flavour of the thin beef slices unless you eat it in isolation.

The Amor Con Coco dessert offers 3 ways to enjoy Peruvian chocolate - varying texture and so much depth in the chocolate flavours. It’s a wonderful chocolate tasting experience for two.

My only complaint is that the server brought out desserts plates first before serving the supposedly “surprise birthday dessert” that I called to order in advance. This let out the surprise because we clearly didn’t order dessert with the server…

Fantastic atmosphere. The ambience of the place was great. Very nice setting with an attractive bar. The staff was brilliant and I don't think they could have done anything better. Really great team. Most importantly, the food was fantastic and worth returning for. Especially the scallop ceviche, the wagyu tataki and the corn side dish. One star deducted for the chicken which I thought was a bit bland, slightly dry. Still good, but just not five stars I would say. Seating is also very cosy and not lots of space. But a restaurant worth going to and worth returning to. Well done!

I’ve been here two times. The first time was when it first opened and it was AMAZING. However, post-Covid, the restaurant did not even meet minimal expectations. So many items on the menu weren’t available, the server butchered our chicken anticucho because he tried to take it off the skewer, struggled and then half the app went on the table (& didn’t offer to replace it). Even a pop was so expensive, was fountain pop, and mostly ice. Overall disappointed and we spent almost $300 for two. We won’t be going back as for “fine dining” in Toronto, or Peruvian restaurants, there are much better options.

That special restaurant that keeps me wanting more. This is that special restaurant. The atmosphere makes it the perfect date night spot. The food is so delicious and our server was the best!

Such an amazing restaurant. Incredibly good food and service. The manager and mixologist were incredibly friendly. The food was amazing. Cocktails were amazing. The cost is incredibly well priced and great value for what you get.

Exquisite foods, friendly waiters and great ambiance. The drinks are nice with great variety, the recommendations made by the waitress is fantastic. Would definitely visit again.

We got two orders of ceviche for takeout for $45, and it was the most disappointing restaurant experience of our lives. We only got one small box and when we asked we were told that there were ingredients for two ceviches. The portion size was so small that even for one order it felt small, it was also completely deconstructed and we had to assemble it ourselves (we weren't warned about this when we ordered). The ceviche was not sour at all; the sauce/tiger's milk was very watery and didn't have much taste, and there were very few ingredients (sauce, some vegetable paste, and a tiny portion of fish, enough for like 2 pieces of sushi per order). No textural contrast (e.g. Crunchy ingredients) either. The quality of the fish was decent and that was the only saving grace.

Overpriced, and low quality. Would not recommend.

Took me a few minutes to find the entrance but once I did we had some fantastic food

A great restaurant with nice ambiance, a banging playlist, and tables that are a bit too small.

We got the $65/person experience menu.

Plantain chips were crispy and well seasoned and the avocado puree tasted super fresh.

Wagyu tataki was fantastic. Not a huge amount of meat, but very rich but still well balanced with a yuzu sauce, greens, and fried shallot.

Of the three ceviche (salmon, scallop, and lychee) we liked the scallop the most, but it had a strong allium flavour so if you're not into that I'd stick with the salmon. The lychee is novel, but not particularly interesting.

Shishito peppers were inconsistent. Some had enough seasoning but others were woefully underseasoned. If every pepper on the plate was seasoned properly it would be quite good.

Empanadas were unremarkable. The crust is a little too thick and the filling a little too one-note. But the sauce however was quite good, and since it's part of the same course as the shishito, actually went much better with the shishito than it did the empanadas.

Short rib anticucho was the standout dish, and is astoundingly similar to Byblos' short rib dish, except with more focus on the meaty flavour of the rib itself and less interesting accompaniments.

Chicken anticucho was very slightly overcooked and could use more sauce, but otherwise was still decent.

The corn side was great and reminded me of elotes. Sweet and charred with some creaminess and a mild spice.

Chocolate three ways was also delicious, the lime yogurt goes surprisingly well with the variety of mousses.

Overall, a very good amount and variety of food that is generally good to great and reasonable value for money. Note that the experience menu is $130 and ordering each of the individual dishes (assuming one ceviche and not the three small ceviches) comes out to $128, so it may be better to order individual dishes over this set.

Don't waste your time. Came with a taxi, fully prepared to have a good time. We showed our approval of vaccination, and were turned away because they accept only hard copy. Mind as well ask for the approval to be carved on stone, as apparently we still live in caves. The hostess claim it says so in the reservation mail (which is a blunt lie) and in reservation sms (which we didn't receive in the aforementioned cave). Went to Patria instead, had a blast.
Don't bother guys. Many places in Toronto are keeping it safe and healthy for us all without this rudeness.

Went for dinner and sat on the patio, super cute and tucked away. Staff was lovely. Drinks were great. There was a mishap with our order not going through to the kitchen properly and the staff was super apologetic and brought us food and drinks to make up for it whilst also preparing our original order. When the food came it was absolutely delicious. The short rib and the toasted corn was unreal. We also really loved the pollo a la brasa and plantain chips. Would definitely go again.

We were celebrating my husband’s birthday last night & we had an amazing evening! One of our sons has been to Mira & recommended it for our family celebration. The food & drinks were spectacular! And Erika, our server, was a delight! She was very friendly, knowledgeable, professional & very helpful with some of our selections. Overall, we were extremely impressed with Mira & will definitely be back. I have already told a few people about the restaurant! Thanks for helping make our evening even more enjoyable.

Me and my husband was planning to explore Peruvian cuisine and we chose Mira and that also for my birthday dinner. I'm happy to shout out for this place. We ordered Salmon Ceviche which was refreshing and flavorful. In main course, we ordered a half portion of Pollo A La Brassa, the chicken was cooked at it's perfection and Salsa huancaina complemented it well. The portion was sufficient for both of us. We chose Yucca fries as sides which literally melted in mouth. It was heavenly soft and smooth. The portion for Ceviche and Side was small as these foods are of tapas style and came in a small portion. In desserts, we ordered Amor Con Coco which was large and perfect for the two of us. I personally liked the flavor of lime and white chocolate yogurt. We enjoyed their patio ambiance, it was vibrant and happening. Staffs were friendly and the service was remarkable. The only thing we missed was the Sangria, which they did not had that day unfortunately.

Revisit this restaurant after one and half year. Great food recommended by the server, short rib, tuna tostada, scallop ceviche, corn are must try. Good wine pairing, affordable price, helpful server.

Nice atmosphere to meet and dine with friends, I know nothing about Peruvian food but it taste delicious, good variety of tapas, friendly service, great price

Unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. The hostess sat us at a table that was at the end of the couch. I understand it's COVID protocol to seat 6m apart but there were other tables open and that section wasn't much of a seat - my butt was falling off the end, only suitable for a tiny human being.

Service was great. Our server was friendly and humorous. I did wish the elements of each dish were explained, the cooking style, the ingredients, etc.

Food was tasty and cooked well. We ordered salmon, rib, cassava fries, and salmon ceviche. I think for the price point, the proteins were embarrassingly small. It was tasty but not tasty enough to justify the small portions with the inflated price point.

Would I recommend? Not sure, definitely a nice ambient restaurant fit for social media trends. But the food didn't hit the mark for me and was nothing exceptional to try again.

Always come here for our anniversary and Mira never dissapointed. Great staff. Incredible/creative food (this point can't be overstated) and great drinks

My wife and I went to Mira for the second time 2 weeks ago. We came back because of a wonderful first experience, but covid kept us away for almost 2 years. The staff, hostess, waitress, servers, everyone are super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We started off with a cocktail called a Maracuyáno, pisco based with ginger beer-excellent. We then had 4 tapas style small plates TUNA TOSTADA, SCALLOP CEVICHE, SHORT RIB and at the waitress' suggestion GRILLED CORN. This was the perfect quantity for two, and every dish was perfectly prepared and full of interesting flavours. We sat on the patio and had an excellent experience for the second time

Had much higher expectations, but of a disappointment. Great ambiance, service was mixed and large plate of branzino was way over cooked.

Lovely place, chill vibe and very hospitable staff. Sat at the bar and got a couple of drinks before hopping to another place: the one with the flower is the first drink on their cocktail menu and is made with ginger beer, passion fruit liquor and cucumber infused pisco: very refreshing!

Another item was a vodka sprite and scallop ceviche which had a flavourful and buttery texture. Would come back again!

Nice little restaurant with great ambiance. Food was pretty good as well, but a little pricey for what it is. But as others have mentioned, this restaurant shines with its service/staff.

Came here for a celebratory dinner after I proposed to my gf. The only reservation I could get was bar seating so I was a little skeptical but it turned out to be the best experience. The bartenders were so nice and helpful. We also had an earlier reservation (6: 45) so it wasn't packed yet and we had more attention from the bartenders. They made awesome drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and even gave us complimentary champagne to congratulate us. At the end of the dinner, we even had our drinks taken care of as well. Big thanks to the bartenders on Friday (Nov 22) evening. The great service alone will be bringing me back to Mira - and I recommend anyone to take bar seating if available.

Only complaints would be that, as others have mentioned as well, the flavor in the lamb shoulder dish was non-existent. It was cooked so well, but just had no taste. Pisco Sour tasted amazing but for the price (17$), the quantity was tiny. The cup was 70% foam and 30% liquid.

Seating is pretty comfortable. Even though the tables are close to each other, it's not too loud.
The food is great! Amor con coco dessert is a must if you like chocolate. Ribeye is superb. Mushroom rice is very flavourful. Cauliflower was nothing special.
Overall, will recommend and come again.

Initially sat down in a rather loud area of the restaurant but the server accommodated our ask to move. The beef here is to die for and is def what I remember most and what I would come back for

Nice restaurant, great atmosphere. I liked all the small serving sizes giving us the opportunity to taste many different dishes. Many vegetarian options.

Kind of hidden restaurant but besides that I had such a great dinner, the server was very helpful and informative! She recommended 4-6 between 2 people to share and it was the perfect amount. Drinks was amazing as well and as for the food I can’t stop thinking about it.

I never write reviews, but this restaurant deserves one. Service was a horrible experience. The waiter was border line rude and yelling while talking, just unfriendly. The food was okay, appetizers did arrive after we FINISHED our mains. Super overpriced, I've never felt so ripped off in a restaurant. If you are interested in literally bite size food for babies, that ranges somewhere between $20-40 a bite, go for Mira. Otherwise, stay away from this place.

Authentic Peruvian food! Look, this is a piece of Peru in canada. Outstanding taste with blow mind dishes. They got food creativity to the next level. It is a little bit hide in an alley, but the adventure to get there it is 100% worth it.

The food is not bad, but make sure you have dinner before coming. We ordered 3 dishes for 2 people and were completely hungry after finishing. It is way overpriced.

Fabulous ceviches, all are pack a punch with flavour and are the best in Toronto, as does the Tostada, Tartare, and Pulpo. The chocolate desserts: Amor con Coco, and El Huevo Malo (its actually a really good giant chocolate shell for 2-4 people if you are tasting). Been to Mira twice, each time the service has been phenomenal and the food divine.

The food was excellent. Portions were small. Service felt rushed. Other than that, it was all a big party in my mouth.

What amazed me the most is the environment, the interior decoration of the restaurant and the service. Great servers with knowledge to help you through the menu when you are indecisive. Tbh the one star they lose goes to the food, wasn’t mind exploded as I expected. But overall is good!

Stylish spot. Small but many rich/decadent dishes. Pretty good in general but the octopus was the highlight.

The service was excellent and the restaurant was nicely decorated. Great place for drinks with friends. We ordered the chef’s tasting menu to get a sense of what Mira had to offer. But unfortunately some of the dishes were truly lacking in flavour. Most notably the meat dishes. The ribs had an interesting presentation with the crispy sweet potatoes but did not taste like what it looked like. My husband and I were a bit disappointed. The mushroom rice was surprisingly bland.

Amazing ambiance, friendly staff, just a tad bit on the expensive side. 130 (with taxes and tip) for a starter, 2 drinks and 2 mains was a bit over the top for me. However, the food and drinks were top notch.

I love love love their food! It's one of my favourite restaurants. Their food and drinks are innovative, creative and tasty. The atmosphere is ambient, good service and I love their entrance and patio.

A friend and I opted for the Mira Experience (tasting) Menu. With tax+tip it ended up being ~110$ ea.

We received 10 dishes in total; 8 dishes from across the menu, sorbet (pre-dessert), and a dessert (pictured).

The flavours were fresh, complimented each other well and were a pleasant alternative from our traditional foods. Service was also excellent. I would say it was worth the money

None of the food blew my mind, but every dish was either good or great.
I will come back and try the tasting menu again, if it changes seasonally.

Having parents and extended family that immigrated here from Peru, I grew up with Peruvian food all of my life. My family and I would try any and all Peruvian restaurants that popped up in the GTA, as they are rare, so I was excited to try out this high end version of Peruvian cuisine.

Unfortunately, the only resemblance to the original dishes seems to be what they are named. All of the dishes I tried had none of the flavours, if even hints of them, that they are known for. A " creative and contemporary take on authentic dishes" shouldn't mean only using some of the ingredients from the original dish and making something completely different. Instead, I would expect it to be built off of what makes the original so good.

Even setting all of that aside, I did not particularly enjoy the dishes themselves, especially given the price. So unfortunately I can not give it a higher rating.

The music was awesome, the drinks looked delicious (can't partake at the moment so idk for sure) and the food was fabulous.

My girlfriend's and I had a fantastic dinner at Mira. Luis, our server, helped to curate a fantastic tasting menu for us. He is extremely knowledgeable, provided detailed descriptions of the offerings. Mira can be a bit more on the pricier side, but I would strongly suggest it for a nice dinner out. I will definitely go back as there were a ton of other dishes I would love to try.

Great staff, amazing food, great vibe and definitely a gem in the city. We celebrated our anniversary and our server made our night very special. Thank you Mira we will definitely be back.

Great place for Peruvian cuisine, probably one of the few places in Toronto. It is on the pricier side, but for the quality of food you're getting it is reasonable. Have been here multiple times, and it's always a great experience. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for something new. Haven't had a bad dish here yet.
