We stopped in for fruit and veggies to take to our friends. They had just what we were looking for.

My go to grocery store in CP. Very clean and products are well stocked. The staff are very approachable and helpful.

I was overcharged for the flowers I purchased, and when they were opened two heads were broken off and several damaged. The rest started withering after 3 days. I thought I was getting fresh flowers as I saw these being unpacked. I will not bye flowers here again. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience with flowers in this store.

Read! If you purchase Laborador water jugs for water cooler drinking water you CANNOT get your ‘deposit’ back from this location even though they charge you $10 dollars for the bottle they fail to tell you this info when you buy! I felt scammed. I went in today to fully return my Labrador bottle jun since we no longer need it and the customer service assistant told me I’m out $10 because they do not provide the deposit back, it’s apparently a laborador company policy but why is independent still doing business with them then? Thankfully the mcEwen Gas station up the road takes the laborador bottle jugs back and refunds you $10 on the spot cash no issues. Overall this independent store is good, I’d ask them to keep checking their produce especially ones in bags since I constantly see mild growing (check bags of jalapeños and blueberries raspberries for example) but overall good service and kind staff just felt extremely deceived when a few months ago we purchased 2 laborador bottle jugs and were told the deposit is 10$ but they never told us at the cash where you pay that you are stuck with the bottle and out $10 (unless you happen to know where else takes in that bottle).

I like that store, it’s very nice and clean
the selection is great, it may cost a few pennies more for some items but it’s worth it because it’s always fresh!

Staff are low paid but seem loyal and good people. Good quality fruits and vegetables. Love president choice but it's pricey. Everything is mostly more expensive than any where else. Dirty self check out.last stop on my grocery runs. Feel to me like it's all about Mitchell profit.

Just sat outside for an hour waiting for a grocery order made more than 24 hours in advance. PCXpres manager seems to think that doesn’t matter because all orders are shopped “day of”. I would think that any organized business would appreciate this in order to prioritize when to start shopping in the case of bigger order vs smaller order. There have been multiple other screw ups by PCXpress for which we were patient and accepted the “we were sort staffed” and “it was a busy day”. Last time I had to drive back and forth a second time (40 mins as I’m o/s CP) or wait until the manager finished work to get the groceries-including medicine. 10$ gracious gift card didnt even cover gas at that time. Now this and when i call to complain and get things moving i was annoyed and used tone then had to raise my voice over the constantly loudly interrupting manager to try to finish a sentence. Offer of a measly gift card declined as my husband is paid 4 x that for an hour of his time. What was the manager yelling? Well “sorry”+”we are short staffed” and “I’ve had a long day too you know” and “I’ll be here until 9”. Sounds like a personal problem that shouldn’t be visited on a customer so i regaled her with one of my own in terms of having to deal with an upset husband “can’t help you with that” NSS. Then, with the added insult of having a car pull up and wait 5 mins for groceries while my husband was still cooling his heels. “Probably a smaller order” she says…. WTAF? I didn’t even get a call about substitutions until 8 mins past the outside pick up time of 4-430 (ie 438). No excuse for the consistent screwups is acceptable let alone the same one EVERY time. Being told about substitutions because they are out of what i ordered only to go into the store myself and find it and on one occasion another Personal Shopper went and checked and the item on that day was also on the shelf. Makes you go hmmmmmm. There are more instances but i grow weary of the nonsense of this store. It has gone downhill since becoming Mitchells; I don’t recall any of these problems when it was Steves. Friendly staff and pretty good selection.
Slightly more expensive than so of it's competitors which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars

The staff was very polite and helpful and my goodness! Was it ever clean! Even when the cashiers had no one in the their line, they were tidying away. Will definitely stop here more often!

Service is generally good and the selection is the best in town. That said, the number of food products with a 30% increase in the past year is ridiculous.

A pretty generic grocery store. Things are a bit pricey here. Covid-19 protocols are okay-ish,

Clean and easy to shop. Cannot find a lot of now basic food items though. Asked one of the employees and he suggested I ask at the customer service desk. Found my self a bit disappointed.

Terrible customer service at garden centre. The cashier was rude and not helpful at all.
We had to do the work when scanning plants. She just stood there holding her scanner. I drop two plants off the cart and did not offer to replace them.

I had a horrible interaction with the store owner I purchased beer because it was on sale purposely went there because I was told it's cheaper than the beer store when I got to the cash they rang it in at a much higher price when I showed him the actual price matching the beer I was buying they told me that was a mistake and would not adjust the price even for that mistake they made that's misleading and purposely tricking people into thinking they're buying cheaper beer I will not support

Bought my lunch at their meals togo department.the fries were so hard you couldn't eat them.definitely stale.

Selection a little lower than larger centers but it's a reliable little store with great staff.

Stocking practices are inconsistent, leading to items that should be refrigerated, sitting out for extended periods. This results in products like yogurt losing their consistency and quality (pictured). Curbside delivery was also frustrating and not entirely functional. Given the price of said products, I will do my best to avoid shopping here in the future.

I used to like shopping there but I went there last week and I bought a top sirloin roast which was just a bunch of scraps of beef strapped together with a string and pretended it was a roast was most disgusting thing I've ever had and I don't think I will be shopping there anymore

Very convenient location to stock up between Ottawa and our property in South Frontenac. Well stocked and friendly employees.

We found everything we were looking to purchase and there was no line up at checkout. The store is clean & the shelves well stocked. Customer service at the Bakery Counter was great.

Carleton Place.how lucky you are to have such a nice store to shop.
There are bigger towns that don't have a store as big as this one.

Love the store, it's got everything and everything's fresh. But please teach the deli counter how to trim and package prosciutto. They always leave the rind on, and usually just ball it up in the traditional cold cut bag.

Great store big and open with lots of room. This store is a great store, they have a abundant supply. They also sells clothing and shoes. I do most of my shopping here as I find this store has a very friendly and family atmosphere and they have great deals. Don't forget to get some of their fresh cooked roast chicken and wedges very delicious.

Typical grocer. Staff are friendly but prices of some items (such as deli meat) are significantly higher than even other local independents. Also the way they have checkouts during covid is very poorly designed.

Very friendly service. Everyone I interacted with what lovely and they even gave me a hot chocolate and candy cane with my pickup order.

Exactly what you'd expect from a grocery store; clean, fresh, and decent selection. But the prices are higher than they should be. Noticeably higher than the other grocery stores in town.

This is my first time ever leaving a review of any kind, and I was hesitant too but after reading other reviews of management at this store I feel strongly that how I was treated by the store Manger should be addressed. The owner of the store is always very friendly says hello to customers, always working hard on the floor doing something, as the owner I think he should be aware of the misrepresentation his store manger unfortunately gives the store. I had a price discrepancy the other day, when the store manger was called he was very rude and dismissive to me, I have never been spoken to so condicendonly. Customer Service was TERRIBLE!

I visited my son here today.and went to pick up a few things alot of the shelves were empty and the store looked a bit of a mess. The prices were crazy high so l was a bit disappointed. Anyways l picked up what l could and was on my way.

Originally loved their cash system set up for covid.however this past time i was in they were allowing the next customer to walk up basically right behind you and put their things up before your order is even processed.what happened? That being said had the loveliest cashier and that should be mentioned because it's the store owner making the system change and not the wonderful young person serving me.

That place is a lead box that lets zero cell service in and the wifi is completely useless. Like cannot load a webpage useless. Bummer when you are used to using a cell based grocery list service that you can’t access in the store.

Nice courtesy to offer the wifi but a hole in the roof would be more useful.

Wide aisles allowed for social distancing. Also they sell beer here which our regular store does not

Clean store and take utmost care for distancing while shopping and check out. Always good stock if items.

I purchased 2 packages of dog bones from this store and my dog refused to eat them. The dog would just sniff them and back away, something wasn't right. She gladly ate a bone that was purchased from the Metro in Perth.
Anyway, at 7 bucks per package I thought it was worth the effort to return them. I didn't have a receipt, I thought the label with the store's info and the price would be sufficient. Nope. I'm done shopping there.

Great selection, but their customer service leaves a bit to be desired. Online ordering generally results in at least some goods that expire a lot sooner than other locations (think 2-3 days on breads, or meat that expires the next day). The store is well-organized, but they don't sanitize carts and instead leave that to the shoppers unlike other locations in the Ottawa Valley. It's a fine store, but you'll receive better service elsewhere.

The cashier refused to scan my mom's optimum points card, the older cashiers seem to favour white folk, just be aware when paying

Their prices are very high compared to other stores, but they have so many options. I do Wish they had more vegan options like tvp and vwgluten for baking and more frozen food options that are vegan too.

Awesome helpful staff, employees are always ensuring check out goes as fast and smoothly as possible, and shelfs & displays are always filled which makes shopping easy!

I have noticed lately on multiple occasions that the expiry dates are an issue. This is not something that's ever been a problem before but lately I have had to throw out several items which isnt a trend I can afford to continue.
I talked to the store manager.mitch.who says that's not their standard etc.etc
He honestly did not seem bothered in the least that a loyal customer wasnt happy. So.between wasting money on food I just throw out and seeing how that concern was handled.its a 1 from me. Also thinking it's time to give somewhere else my money now.

Lot's of space and very well kept. A great team at the checkout to guide costumers to the next available cash.

Definitely take their Covid-19 protocols very seriously and the store is very clean and organized. The only thing that I would suggest is maybe have a separate line or pathway for elderly or disabled patrons as some may find the long mapped routes to checkout a little tiring or tedious.

I attended this store on Monday night for grocery shopping and again today to pick up something they were out of Monday night. It would seem that most COVID19 protocols no longer apply at this store. Quiet frankly it's now a disorganized mess. People are entering and leaving the building by the same set of doors, There is no social distancing or direction. There is no one monitoring the number of people entering the store or leaving the store. In the foyer you can pick up your cart and then proceed into the store where you can sterilize/clean it. I have to wonder why the carts are not cleaned prior to coming into the store. Why would a customer have to handle an unsterilized cart and move it another location to sterilize it? Today most people were trying their best to line up, get their cart and move it to be sterilized but unfortunately as there was no clear direction of protocols it was very stressful. Additionally, there were people who were just walking in front of other people (cutting in front of people waiting in line) and proceeding to walk in without sterilizing their cart.

Once in the store it was beyond ridiculous, With the amount of people in the store and their behavior you would not think there was a pandemic going on, there was no social distancing. While the store can't help peoples behavior they should be was monitoring the number of people in the store and the flow of the traffic in the store. The people in the check out areas are still doing a fantastic job as they have during the entire pandemic.

There are two available sets of doors going into this building at different sides of the foyer. Why isn't one being used for entrance and one being used for exit. There needs to be some type of barrier set up to keep people entering and exiting from having to cross each other. The carts need to be cleaned before coming into the store. (other stores are doing it) The number of people in the store at one time needs to be monitored.

My visit today was in the middle of a work day. I can just imagine what it will be like on this holiday weekend. Our community has done a wonderful job of keeping the numbers low during the pandemic but we should not be complacent in attending an essential service store.

Mason at customer service did not honour the Scanner Price Accuracy Code when a mistake was made on my bill. He was very condescending and rude and after speaking with him, I doubt very much he is even aware of the code.

Not much social distancing, carts were not cleaned by workers prior to shopping and when we were checking out they did not clean the belt beforehand. The next costumer started putting their groceries on the belt while we were still checking out intead of waiting for us to finish our order. The employees should have people wait for the belt to be free.

Always helpful and pleasant when I use curbside going above and beyond. Didn't give 5 because I sometimes need to check to ensure frozen food or hot food has been included.

Sadly I need to change from a 4 star rating today to the lowest rating possible. Please, I trusted that the early time allotment for seniors and the immune compromised gave us some degree of safety.

NOT SO, as a gentlemen ahead of me wasn't even wearing a mask!

Please, you did nothing.yet our most vulnerable citizens were in your store. This is not acceptable. If someone has a problem wearing a mask TO PROTECT ME then have them prove it but at the very least have them shop when your most vulnerable are not in attendance!

Very clean and amazing variety of products. The vegetables and fruits are fresh and well displayed. The meat department is very good with a large selection and I love their PC products.

Good food, and they're doing a lot to prevent the spread of COVID. I switched to this grocery store when I saw all the precautions they were taking, and I'm never going back.

I am extremely impressed with the logistics and staffing levels during the Covid pandemic. It's actually an even better shopping experience than before. Great job!

This store is doing a great Covid 19 job. Excellent signage and cleanliness. Staff protected. I will do more shopping here in the future because of this. Also excellent craft cider and beer selection

Doing their best to supply groceries. Best quality fruits and vegetables. Love president choice. Columbian coffee is excellent. Walmart and fresco process are better but I go here most often.

Nice clean store with good meat. Produce is mostly good, but everything is not just expensive, it's a lot more than their competition across the street, unless you find the occasional sale item which you need. No price matching. Pharmacy people are outstanding. Beer selection is good. The staff are 'hit and miss' with regard to friendliness. Bakery is good. Management leaves a lot to be desired, as they don't seem to care if customers leave happy or not.

This is not my usual store to shop at but I was impressed with the large selection of deli, ready made and fresh produce. I stopped in for a sandwich on my way through town.

I went there for fresh clams. Asked the girl at the seafood counter for a dozen clams. She asked me if I wanted some ice in the bag. I said "sure". She then put the clams in a bag, added a scoop of crushed ice and then weighed it to get the price. It was over $22. I asked why she didn't weigh them first and then add the ice and she said this is how they were trained. I said forget the ice, just put the clams in a bag.that ended up being $14. I almost paid $8 for a scoop of crushed ice. I've never experienced that.where they add ice before they weigh the food.and tell you that's how they're trained. I wonder what other shady practices they're doing.

If your going to purchase meat at a grocery store, it's the best store in Carleton Place. Good sales also, pretty good service and it doesn't hurt of having the option of buying a few beers while you're there.

Great layout, the items were easy to locate and the wait at the cash registers was low. Staff was very courteous.

Larger than my local Independent, this grocery store is so good for quality and selection, I travel out of my community to come here!
