Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment & Training

Been calling and emailing for over a month and a half trying to get an appointment for employment and training. And they also don’t let you use computers anymore for those purposes. What kind of training and employment place is this? Seems like this place is just going downhill over the past year. Person who answered the door who wasn’t the receptionist didn’t seem very helpful. Very hard to get them to email you back. There have been multiple emails sent just to get an appointment and I’m always given excuses why I can’t get an appointment. Who has to wait almost 2 months just to talk to somebody about employment. Another thing they didn’t even send me all of the forms required from the start and then tried to say that I didn’t submit forms so when they finally sent me all the forms required, I still never got an appointment. This place is getting ridiculous.

Claim they help, LIES, Being ABORIGINAL myself, i have called and emailed them a number of times looking for help, even looking for work. (they have had the same job posting on their website for over 3 months). Clearly they dont want to hire anyone.

Miziwe Biik helped my mother establish a sole proprietorship with funding from Self Employment Benefits. In 2006 we transitioned the business into a Corporation with help from INAC. We are 100% owned and operated by three generations of Indigenous Women. We have now helped 50-60 thousand people get job skill training and food handler certification as a result of the support and guidance from Miziwe Biik. If you have a dream of self employment, go for it. Ask for the help you deserve to make your idea come true. Miigwetch Miziwe Biik and Staff for your hard work and dedication.

My son had the worst experience with an employment counselor here. She made him wait months to apply for for a program, yelled at him, ignored our emails and eventually stopped responding after I reported her for her disrespectful tone. She was then defended by management. He was not rude or disrespectful at any time. This lady just does not want to be bothered to follow up. I don't recommend using this agency. They stand in the way of Indigenous progress when that's the point of their existence.

Best place to get help from counsellors, faxing, photocopying, computers, I highly recommend this place. I got my first aid certificate for free here.

What an incredible agency doing amazing things! So supportive and really work to help the clients whatever their situation to get them the help they need!
