As soon as I walked in I thought, WOW!
The premises are tastefully decorated and spacious, the prices are reasonable and competitive. Bob did a lovely job on my drab, thin, fine, greying hair. His team coloured my hair to perfection, the wash and head massage was ultra-soothing, they pressed me with cups of tea and we engaged in delightful conversation. Bob snipped, gently layered, spritzed and sprayed before wielding his flat-iron and drying, turning my hair into a thing of beauty in a style I'd never had before. I was stunned and felt stunning. He chatted and put me at my ease. He shared hair health tips to look after my hair moving forward, and how to style it. My husband LOVED my hair style and so do I. Thank you Bob, Vanessa, Riley, Munira and Husna for a wonderful experience, you are a fabulous team. I recommend Modern Touch to everyone.

A bit off the top, I guess means leave a bit. This is the shortest haircut I have had since I was 5. Not what I wanted. It was too late once the first cut was done. It will grow back, but I was disappointed no less.

I haven't used any services at this salon, however, I did purchase a hair tool from them. When I realized that I was not happy with the tool, I called Bob and he spoke to the manufacturing rep, and returned it for me. This goes beyond good customer service. He didn't have to do this. Especially because I'm not his client.but he did.and he did it with pleasure. If I every had to change salons, I would go here, just because of the customer service that was exercised to make someone happy.

It was my first time in this salon. I have done a hair botox treatment. Treatment itself is a bit expensive but truly great experience and service, now it is much easier to manage. Much thanks to Vali for doing the treatment.

The people are nice and friendly but the haircut I go wasn’t the one I wanted despite me showing a picture. No one liked what they saw of me after. The extra I paid wasn’t worth it. I need another corrective haircut now.

This salon is excellent. Bob is meticulous and clearly an expert colourist. I went in for the first time after just moving to Ontario and I will return often. He is fast, fabulous and did and excellent blow out and really freshened up the colour. His hair treatment left my hair shiny and frizz free for the first time in ages. You won’t be disappointed.

I just got a balayage here yesterday. It was my first time at this salon. My stylist, Sarah, was absolutely amazing. She did an awesome job on my hair, very happy with it! She's incredibly sweet and talented, and the price was very reasonable. Thank you so much, I will definitely be returning!

Many clients may, like me, jump from salon to salon looking for the "right" salon. I am pretty sure I have found my go to salon for my lifetime! I visited Modern Touch for the first time for a full head colour. I was VERY pleased by the customer service and the quality of the work. Bob and a young stylist (apologies- I forgot her name!) were courteous, friendly, and very helpful in providing professional industry information about hair colour, hair products, etc. They were polite & greeted me immediately when I walked in. They answered all my layperson questions about products and I can tell they were not giving me any run around or trying to upsell any products. I look forward to a great relationship with the salon!

Bob is a professional and he was awesome with me and my mom! He listened to all the hair concerns I had and recommended the right products. The pedicures at the salon are awesome too, Nina did a really great job for us! Will definitely be coming back here.

My go to hair salon! Expect great service from down to earth, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bob always does a stellar job with cuts, styling and colour. Daniella is a sweetheart and so nice to chat with while you're being pampered. The price is on par with salons in the area.

Hi! Bob this is "the lady in red". Hope you remember me. I was at Modern Touch a couple of weeks ago and I am very happy I choose Modern Touch. I've had my hair done by Vali a few times and each time I am so happy with the results. Then I moved to Lindsay and tried other places that is closer to me but each time I was left so unhappy so I decided to go back to Modern Touch. I wanted to try balayage for the firs time so I had my hair done by Vali just before Christmas! I was beyond happy! After searching a lot for while I landed to this place.
This was the first time I was getting my hair colored, I was not sure what look I wanted they booked me for a quick free consultation, Bob detailed me the specifics very patiently gave me enough time to decide. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming too. Likewise, for aesthetics, I've had many pedicures and manicures over the years and Nina is the best! If you need some good pampering, visit Nina - she will take good care of you. I recommend this salon for excellent service and very good value. I am a 'regular' now and will be back!

I've been looking for a hairstylist for quite some time now. I decided to try this place out and was not disappointed. I had about 14" cut off. Bob did a WONDERFUL job. I asked him to braid it and cut it so that I could take it home to mail in and donate it. I then showed him an image of a haircut I like, and he gave me exactly what I showed him - but better. My hair looks great, it feels great and I am extremely happy that Bob was the person to transform my hair from Rapunzel to Rachel (Friends, s2).

Hey! I have recently came to this salon to get my hair done. I have never gotten my hair coloured or styled professionally before, but I heard good things about this location so I decided to come here to change my look. Vali, the owner gave me his professional advice and said that I should get a balayage. He did the balayage for me and cut my hair in layers. I asked to keep my length and he did.it turned out so good! I was very nervous at first but I soon realized I was in good hands. All the employees were very kind and I felt very well taken care of. I have received dozens of compliments on my hair.many have told me they like my new hair over my old hair and to not go back.probably 10 different people have asked where I got it done now and its only been a few days. Thanks Vali!

I came in today for a cut.
I went from hair down to my bum to a long bob.

My hairstylist was the owner Val.

The consultation was very good, he listened to my requests and said he would be able to fulfil them.

During the cutting of my hair i said I liked the length that it was at that point.
He unfortunately cut another 1-1.5 inches additional off.

I know my hair will grow back in a few months but its not what i wanted.

I told him I wanted to be able to put it in a pony tail and I can barely do that.

I gave 3 stars because the cut itself is well done but it's not the length I wanted.

Vali did an amazing job on my hair. He took his time and made sure it looks great! I'm very happy with how my hair looks! Thank you Vali! Definitely recommend.

The worst service I have seen.

The communication with management is unprofessional.

I set my wedding appointment a year ago. We were in lockdown, I called a month before and left a message thinking they will get back to me.

Not only did not get back to me after the lockdown ended, I called the end of July to ask about my hair appointment. They did not pickup, the phones voicemail was full.

I was in a panic trying to contact anyone at the store. I immediately tried to call other places since this store never got back to me.

I called a week before my wedding to confirm and ask about my stylist to call me. They said they would. They never did. I went back and asked for my deposit back.

Ladies and gents if you get married i suggest not using this salon they cause unnecessary stress that you really don't need for your wedding day.

Plus they were way too expensive!

He takes his work very seriously, is professional, and treats clients with kindness. My hair looks amazing! First time at Modern Touch Salon - I was looking to get botox treatment for my hair and Bob answered all my inquiries. The condition of my hair during hot humid weather is usually one ball of frizz. Bob did a great job. 1st time getting my hair colored in a salon and the experience was very pleasant. I love my hair. ;turned out with really great color and highlights. The assistant was really nice too, she was always checking up on every customer. Making sure that the customers were comfortable. I like that she was always asking if the water temperature was ok before she continues washing.

The staff were amazing-friendly, attentive, and kind. I received an incredible head massage as part of the shampoo service! The stylist listened to what I wanted for my hair style. He asked questions to clarify and made sure he understood what I wanted. I got exactly the cut I wanted and he shared some styling tips for my new hair style. I was lucky enough to get Bob to do a balayage hair styling for me and it honestly came out even better than I expected. I was pretty unsure of what exactly I wanted, but he was so helpful throughout and explained everything well so that I could decide what I wanted. New client here. Booked an appointment for a trim for my flat, fine, long hair. Vali made it clear that he could add more movement with a layer. Having long, thick, unruly hair that was recovering from a horrific trim, I was very hesitant to put my faith in anyone to touch my hair. But, as Maid of Honour, I had to find someone as I needed a fancy style! I checked through the net and read good reviews so I booked an appointment. To be honest, I expected to come out disappointed and having to somehow re-doing my hair, as I have always had to in the past.

Jasmine was a true artist! I came in with photos on my phone that she blended ideas from each to create a style that was specifically suited to my hair and face. She consulted with me as she went to work on creating and designing a beautiful style. She also explained things as went.why this would work, why this would not, what tool she was using and why. What she created was a masterpiece! I was so surprised and happy with the style Jasmine designed. I hate to admit it, (actually, I really don't) but my hair was the talk of the wedding!
Would I return to Modern Touch again? You bet I would! The horrific trim has finally grown out so it is time to get it repaired and I am only going to trust Jasmine to do it!

It has been a long time since I've felt comfortable having a stylist close to my hair, but I will continue to see Vali after my first experience at Modern Touch. My mother and I both went in for a Keratin treatment (we both have thick natural hair) and initially I was not convinced that anyone could successfully soften and smooth out my thick hair. Vali was patient and extremely considerate of my concerns. I'd researched the process and had many questions, but he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of them thoroughly during our consultation.
I was so impressed with the Keratin treatment and Vali's suggestions on what to do post-treatment. I will definitely be returning to Modern Touch on a regular basis.

Since moving to the Durham region, I was fussy on a new hairdresser, as I had been going to mine for over 20 years. After some searching, I found Bob. It's been almost 2 years of going to Bob for colors, cuts and now a Keratin treatment. He is fabulous! I never fail to leave the salon feeling beautiful. I've moved to Toronto in 2017 - One of the most challenging things in the move was to find people whom I would be comfortable with when going to a salon. After being disappointed several times i found Modern Touch Hair Salon through a recommendation from a store clerk. Her hair cut was just fabulous. I called up the salon and was happier ever after since. Its been approx 6 months that i go to the salon and am always happy with the results. I've had color, highlights, cuts and styles done by Bob Elias whom is excellent at what he does. A big thank you to all at the salon as it is a warm and friendly. I highly recommend this salon. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.

Every part of my experience with the salon was exceptional - from the minute I walked through the door. I did not have an appointment, so started with a consultation. When I came back for my cut and colour, I was thrilled with the outcome. The woman that washed my hair had magic hands. I had not expected to find this type of an salon experience in Pickering.

Had a haircut here and I feel like it was shorter than I expected, but I've received lots of compliments about how nice my hair was so it was all good. I absolutely had no idea that the owner himself was my stylist since I just went online, read the reviews, and went on to book the most common name customers mentioned. I was honestly in shock, I feel like it's not reasonably priced. I had to pay $80 considering I just had to get 2 inches off my hair. It was one of the few expensive hair cuts I've ever had. He was also a bit rough on my head/hair and I was getting a slight headache because of it. But then again, you'll always have to experience something for the first time right? I guess this'll be my last too.

Vali gave me an outstanding cut yesterday! I must say my hair looks fuller and bouncy and I love it. Vali really took his time and used different techniques that sure made a difference. Thank-you

Saw Bob two weeks ago for Balayage.read several reviews online before going as I haven’t dyed my hair in years and years and was very hesitant to dye my hair again. I have brown hair and brought in several pictures of what I wanted done. In addition to the balayage I asked if he could dye the hair framing my face the brown that was at the top of my head as a face wash I’d used had bleached that hair and made it orangeish. He said he would try to correct it.
Not only was it still orangy when I left but what I got was not balayage at all. When I first left you could hardly tell I dyed my hair, a toner was added though and I assumed it was that. While inspecting my hair when I got home I noticed that under neath my hair it was very, very blonde. I’d assumed maybe they missed a spot there with the toner. As days have gone by now the color is very vibrant and my hair seems to be getting more and more blonde and lighter every day and is not at all what I asked for. If anything this is more like highlights but even then they’re not highlights that are done properly as it’s patchy and uneven. Considering I spent over $200 for this hair color I am extremely disappointed. The only thing I will say is when I left I did say I liked my hair and that’s on me as I should have been honest that you really couldn’t tell the difference but I had said I wanted a subtle change and I figured maybe it was just more subtle than I intended. I had no idea my hair would change this drastically as days went on and would look like it does now. I now have to find time to go to a different salon and try and have my hair dyed all brown again to try and correct this mess.

I couldn't be happier about the results! Overall service from the beginning to the end was great. Bob was Fantastic! Expert in his field, Excellent service, Very knowledgeable. Love the fact that Bob not only did what i asked/wanted, but he advise, encourage, engage whole conversation about My hair! His approach was very personal and carrying. I truly appreciate and love what was done, especially colors!

I am so happy with my extensions! I only had about an inch of hair to work with & Bob managed to loop the extensions into my hair. I feel like a mermaid now, LOL. Bob really knows what he is doing, is such an expert & is professional & friendly. I also got a keratin treatment the week before the extensions & I really recommend it. Once I've grown back my real hair to the length I want it, keratin will definitely be part of my long-term beauty regime!

Bob rushed through my haircut resulting in a terrible and uneven cut. I had to go home and trim it myself. I could clearly tell this guy did not want to cut my hair. Not coming back here.

My daughter had her first haircut with Sofia today. Not only am I happy with her new cut and style but Sofia was very good with my daughter talked her through the whole thing. She’s very happy with her new hair style. Thank you!

I went into the salon for a strength test and consultation with Vali. After discussing what I would like done, I was not sure he understood my wishes. Although I do know that going lighter sometimes takes steps and it would be exactly what I want but the message of a balayage quickly turned into more of a highlight situation (which I do not want).
He applied the bleach to a strand in the middle of the side of my head and did not cover me with one of the black wraps for protection.
After feeling rushed to leave I arrived home to find there was numerous bleach spots on my favourite shirt.

As an owner of the salon, I felt I was in safe hands when he was applying the bleach. It’s extremely unprofessional that I was coming in as a potential new client and left with bleach stains.

Completely disappointed and have a ruined shirt to show for it.

I have been to Modern Touch twice now. Both times I saw Vali. What a wonderful experience. Vali was able to transform my thick long unruly hair to light and manageable while keeping length. The blonde highlights came out perfect which is a rarity for me. I’ve never been happy with my highlights in the past. They were always too yellow or too brassy. Vali was able to get the nice soft blonde I’ve been seeking. He provides excellent advise regarding the maintenance and longevity of your colour and great tips for styling.

I did receive service with you guys. First the hair cut in February. Then I had a hair dye in April. I loved the hair cut but the hair dye was an awful experience. I got Exactly what I didnt want and specifically requested not to have which was yellow highlights on dark hair. You tried to fix my hair with toner mixtures. It only fixed it so much. I had asked multiple times not to bleach my hair as I've hair damage and even though we had discussed it an the earlier consultation that we won't be bleaching, you guys bleached my hair so I am still trying to fix the damage on that. I came in on the 21st of April 2018 and I paid over 200 dollars in cash for something that I didn't want and that costed me not just money but also hair damage.

Just had my hair cut and colored by Bob and my faith has been restored. For those who are searching for a proper stylist, please do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Bob. I went in with a problem cut and he never said what he couldn't do, just what he could do. He was positive, professional and clearly passionate about his craft. I feel like I have lucked out finding him!
