Moksha Indian Bistro Niagara Falls Restaurant and Caterer

Lovely cosy little restaurant with a big curry choice was just the ticket on a cold wet November night and Moksha did not disappoint! Their very reasonable prices and their wide choice of dishes presented me with many options but I went with my old favorite of a Chicken Tikka Masala and it was excellent. Presentation was amazing with a good serving of Rice, a nice bowl of curry, a side of spicy vegetable and a Popudum artfully shaped like a swan! The curry was very tasty and although only a medium spice level I enjoyed the thick creamy sauce along with a Garlic Naan. This was a very very good curry and I highly recommend a visit to Moksha. I will be back for sure!

Was there this Summer! Horrible food and horrible service! Ordered a soup.was served in a tea cup!? Like seriously? Ordered a meat platter.meat was cold and almost rotten! Service was soooo delayed. Finally. I complained? The staff member started to pick a fist fight with me.yelled at me with "F" word.threatened me. Ended up calling cops and ministry of health! This place used to be so good.looks like new owners.so sad.if you like to enjoy ur trip.love ur family and love ur life!? Never go there!

We ordered chicken and drinks! N chicken was stale! Drinks were fine but not upto that mark!
And be ready guys to pay 16% gratuity for even 2 people dining! Not worth paying and eating at this place! Be aware!

Brought Malai Soya Chaap today. Quanity is very low as compared to price. Malai Chaap Tandoori was not too good served with raw onion and some malai. Raw onion was giving bitter taste.

Wonderful dinner with the family, we enjoyed everything and ordered family style. I highly recommend. Also for myself was very happy with the gluten free menu.

There is no point of having an atmosphere when the food is disguisting. I ordered lamb bhiryani yesterday and it was no where close to a bhiryani.it tasted pathetic and the lamb was uncooked and the bhiryani didn’t taste like bhiryani atall. You need to change your chefs! It was super disguisting and not atall tasty.had to throw away the food unfortunately.ty for wasting my money

Great tasting North Indian food, drinks and desserts. Vegan and gluten free options. Family style plates available. We loved the curry and biriyani, although it was a tad too spicy. Yummy mango lassi. Recommend

Our first ordering experience was at the food truck day in Lakeside Park, and I was so excited to see vegan options on the menu. I ordered the Chana Masala neglecting to mention that I needed it to be made vegan because I assumed it already was. This came up incidentally when I received my food and shared that I often cook vegan Indian at home - the staff member serving me immediately arranged for a vegan dish to be prepared and also allowed me to keep the traditional version that my son had sampled since it would otherwise be wasted. So blown away by the service, and the food was equally fabulous in terms of flavour. Will definitely be visiting the restaurant location in the future!

I must say, this is the absolute worst dining experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. The chicken tandoori tasted like spoiled meat, and the biryani was somehow even worse. My wife ordered fries, and we had an unwanted guest-list of flies hovering over our food.
The water cup hadn’t seen a drop of cleanliness, and the table was caked with a thick layer of uncleaned oil.
Our order was a comedy of errors – appetizers and drinks arrived after our main course. It’s beyond comprehension!
Regrettably, today I woke up with a stomach bug, even though I ate sparingly.
I’m genuinely baffled at how this restaurant passed any sort of food inspection. I can’t imagine many people would enjoy their experience here. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

I have been to other Indian restaurants in Niagara Falls, ON and this is so far the best one.
I tried the snacks (momos) and faluda. It was yum. I am sure the rest of the food would be delicious too.
The best delight of having food here is not its ethnic ambience, back ground music, cleanliness but the servers.
Ruchi, the server, who brought me food was simply amazing. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. A truly exceptional dining experience.

Worst experience ever. I ordered the food from their website and got email and text that it will be ready in 15-20 minutes. Upon reaching there, staff said we do not have order and then showed them receipt the lady on reception went back and said we did not saw your order and it will be ready in 25 minutes. We already had the tickets booked for the cruise at niagra falls and upon telling them to give refund she told you are lying there is not cruise at 9: 30 pm. To prove her i had to show her our tickets but she did not gave any refund and we did not reached on time and lost $170 and the food was undercooked. Very poor service

Please beware of this moksha Indian bristro while ordering food for party, we order for 25 people the food came uncooked, raw and guest left the party without eating the food. When we asked them for refund, they refused.

We have eaten here last year, it was a good experience however, last night was not good. The naan was good and crispy, the Momo's were good; the Meat Tandoori platter-the Lamb kebab had very gamey smell to it, the chicken was hard, the smell of the spices was a turn off. The karahi Mushroom, seemed limp and lifeless, the frangrance of the spices and the after taste was a total turnoff; the daal was runny with too much cream and little lentils. TOTALLY bad night, the food made me run to the washroom. I will finish the review here. TO THE OWNER, change your recipes on the platter and the mushrooms, bad smell and aftertaste. We wont be eating here again.

They treat people as they have covid who are coming to their restaurant And they don’t have the sense how to treat customers

Did not ask for proof of vaccination!
We had to volunteer that information. Only asked if we were vaccinated and took our word for it. That is insufficient and irresponsible. Should be investigated!
Also, a couple employees not wearing masks; specifically bartender and a chef.

Worst experience ever!

The explanation of the dish in the menu and the original dish we received was totally different.

And most importantly the customer service was worst.

They have good starters. Main course wasn't that great. I had ordered chicken Tandoori, lamb and one veg dish for main course. Veg north Indian dish had coconut oil flavour. The oil in Tandoori chicken was smelling and felt more like fried rather than Tandoori. They charge gratuity/ service charge which is about 18 to 20% of the bill which I feel isn't worth Apart from this they want us to tip. I don't mind paying gratuity, but not for this place.

Ordered on doordash. They didn't prepare order when i reached there. Then they ask to wait for 15 mins. The food was garbage. All dishes tasted same

I am here to just reflect my honest opinion not worth the money and time to go this place. Not happy as expected. There must be more server four people just left the table as no one serve them.
Gratuity charge 13$ really at least it should be customers choice that’s the reason no one take care.

Decent food. Love the pricing more. An entire meal combo for 1 is pretty affordable without having to order multiple dishes and wasting it.

Go for good deal.

Do come here if you want average tasting fine Indian food. The quantity was so so, not worth what I paid for. Service was very slow. Had it been fast, at least they would have compensated.

The taste is okay but you would definitely feel like you’re in an Indian restaurant. Great ambiance!

In both of these vegetarian dishes, paneer was hard and not at all soft.

Worst tipping law ever. I own a restaurant myself in Waterloo but this is just too much extortion.

Good food. Just be aware that gruduaity is already included in the bill so you dont have to pay any tips unless you want to. When you pay, option will be given to pay tips. If you dont pay attention to bill, you will end up paying double tips.

I wish I could rate this restaurant 5 stars but servers made it worse. Servers was rude and food came so late. These two stars are for chefs because taste was so good, but servers made it worse. Hope I could visit the place but will not visit and because of servers, chefs did their part best.

I just finished one of the worst, actually the worst meal of my life. Inspite of the bread being stale and old, I found a hair in my curry. The waiter "whose name he refused to give", was so arrogant and disrespectful to us. I left meal in half, and when I asked for the bill, it was over charged too, which was one of the most bizzre things ever happened in a restaurant to me. CAUTION: THIS PLACE CHARGES 16% GRATUITY BEFORE TAXES ON EVERY ORDER. The place was dead on a Friday night at 9pm. I should've known then. I've never experienced this level of disrespect and disregard as a customer before. The so-called manager was so discourteous and impertinent when we called him to ask a valid and simple question about our bill. We politely asked the manager to charge us gratuity after taxes as that is the whole purpose of gratuity. Instead of even politely saying no, he told us "you do not get to pick and choose what you pay for, " and proceeded to tell us to wait for the police. As a former server at a restaurant, this kind of behavior from a manager was shocking for me. What's even more shocking is that this place is somehow still in business.
I had read some of the reviews of this place before visiting and despite most of them being negative, I decided to give it a go just because I thought the food might be good. Although the food was okay in taste, the overall experience truly was a disappointment. From now on I have learned to trust the reviews and avoid going to places with almost all negative reviews. This is why I'm leaving this review in hopes of saving someone else from having a similar experience in such a beautiful place-Niagara Falls.
A message to the management - People come to Niagara Falls to have a good time and enjoy their night. Everyone has over 100 places to choose, from where they could dine in or take out food. If someone walks into your restaurant, the least you can do is show a drop of kindness. The only reason we did not wait for the police that day is because my sister was so anxious and felt very uncomfortable in regards to the whole situation. It is truly sad that from now on I will have to be so careful before walking into a restaurant, in order to make sure my little sister does not have to feel that way again. The least you could do is try to create a safe and peaceful place for people. Anyways, as you say to most of the people on here, have a great rest of your night!

Stale food. We went on Tuesday and felt like the food was from the weekend. It was very smelly and rubbery. The starter - soya meat masala was completely cold and rubbery, and they microwaved after reporting.

It was o bad, ive never tasted such bad indian food before. If you wanna waste your money and time you should definitely come here.

I advise you to avoid the moksha Indian cafe in Niagara Falls, ON. Chicken biryani, naan, chickpeas, and lassi were among the dishes we ordered. The food is not particularly tasty, and the manner in which it is served is unacceptable. We had the worst time there. It is highly pricey in terms of food. Niagara's worst restaurant. Plates are not adequately cleaned. Employees are impolite. They have no idea how to interact with customers.

Server was smoking in the patio and serving food at same time. He didn’t even wash the hands. He short height brown maybe “indian”. Super disgusting and horrible experience. People dont go and please dont get sick. If they do things like this in open, imagine how they cook in the kitchen. He used abusive words against me when I ask him to go smoke out and wash hands. He said go somewhere else to eat and used “F” word.

Very bad experience, Naan was burnt asked for change, they changed it but charged for it. Manager is arrogant, food quality and quantity both are poor.

Same taste of 4 different mains. Strong taste of uncooked masalas in curries. Same base used. Useless service. Pathetic place.
If a desi rates this place anywhere above 2 stars, they dont know food.
I dont count the whites or other races because they would eat anything that sells under the 'indian/Pakistani' banner.

It was one of the worst experiences a person could ever have, the food was average but what makes worse is the service. With due respect to the servers there don’t have any sense what position and part of restaurant they are in. Upon asking for an extra roti (bread) waiter said and I quote “did i not told you while taking the order give the whole order right away” and denied well common we had a child with us that is not how you treat a customer. Never the less at the end of the day we also had to bear an actual fight between a customer and the waiters as he complained about the service.

Amazing food! They served fresh, hot, well presented and well prepared food. Menu has bunch of appetizer options but limited main course options. Decent price, customer service was great. Not long waiting time as it took only 10 minutes for us. The dining experience overall was avearage. It need some cleaning. Adding pictures for reference.

I would give 0 stars to this place if I could. The food was old and tasteless. When I told them, one of the waiter just disagreed saying it is fresh. I asked him to taste it but he didn’t. They are also charging a service fee over $10 which I have never seen in any other restaurant. Worst experience ever.

If you looking for authentic desi (Indian / Pakistani) for near Niagara falls, keep looking.the biryani was not flavorful at all.the lamb kabobs were hard and tasteless. I'm almost certain the kabobs were microwaved before serving.a waiter came and asked how was our food, we told the kabobs were not good, he said he'll tell the chef & after that no one came to our table.we just asked for the check and left.very poor customer service and poor food quality.definitely will not recommend.

Was looking for a place to grab some takeout and came across Moksha.
I ordered the Muligatawny soup, vegetable peloras and lamb Vindaloo.
Absolutely Awesome!

The soup was rich and delicious.
The pekoras were a salty spicy treat.
Saving the best for last, the lamb Vindaloo was Outstanding! Just the perfect blend of aromatics and spice.

And the staff were very friendly and courteous.

Loved it so much, I went back 2 nights later!

Highly recommend to lovers of Indian cuisine.

I have been to Moksha multiple times. They used to be my favourite until I was there this time. The food taste though is good, the quantity is more like a plate than a full entree. They seems to have moved away from being a fine dining restaurant to just another eatery around.

It was New Years eve so didn't mind that the waiter took 20 min after seating us to even ask about drinks. However the waiter did apologize. The 1 star is only because the waiters were friendly and did tend to us promptly after the wait. However the food was terrible too spicy, tasteless and much to expensive. We don't drink so 2 juices and 4 entrees of which one was dal and the other was aloo methi, a lamb biryani which was served on a tiny dessert plate and a lamb curry cost around $150.

I have been coming to Moksha since 2014, and it’s one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in the GTA. Their food is great as always and their Masterchef-style food presentation is very unique as well. Really love the variety of vegetarian options and drinks. Recently had their vegetarian biryani, lime soda and New York style ras malai - all of which was fantastic. The ras malai especially was presented in an interesting, deconstructed manner. However, they seem to be short-staffed everytime I visit, so it would be great if they hired more servers especially during the summer and winter holidays. Special mention to the server with the triangle tattoo on his left hand who was very friendly and respectful.

I had a bad experience! We ordered for a burnt garlic fried rice which did not have any garlic flavor but a lot of chilli. We could hardly eat it. On saying so, they gave us some curd. I was like how can I eat fried rice with curd? They were arrogant enough and did not do anything about it.

For me this place was a bust terrible service Infact it took 20mins just to get the drinks food was blah (not worth the hour wait) bartender was off so nothing special about the beer. I should have gone to Guru instead.lesson learned.

Starting off with the customer service there's no greetings whatsoever. The waiter was a young guy seemed so full of himself. The food was okay i have had a better one. The whole place was empty when i went and it still took them a while to prepare it. The waiter didnt even come once to ask if everything was okay. Moreover, the waiter was smelling everything while making a cocktail like literally putting his nose in the bottles which seemed a bit unhygienic to me. At the end i had to go up to pay the bill since no one came for check out. I wont recommend it. Felt like rip off.

Kudos to the chef, the food they serve is really tasty. They use the perfect blend of spices. Haven’t had better Indian food since I came to Canada especially the butter chicken and dal were amazing.
However, the restaurant isn’t very well managed. The staff is under-trained while they pretend to be over-smart. On top of that, they are rude.
I might come here again only for a take out, but not for a dine-in.
5 stars for food but 1 for service. Overall, a 3 star experience.

We went in with high hopes and hungry bellies! Food did not disappoint, it was actually pretty good. But that’s about it! Customer service is subpar, it actually felt as if the servers were being inattentive on purpose. No follow up, we constantly had to look at them to get there attention and still couldn’t. And all this with only couple of tables for them to cater. Wasn’t even rush hour. Rarely write reviews, but this one disappointed me enough to write down my experience. In short, very unwelcoming

Great place to eat. Food excellent. Visited twice while in Niagara. Even have Gluten free menu which I was able to choose from. Staff lovely nothing too much trouble

If u actually look at your food while eating, you will find some hair. Service is TOTALLY WORST. If you are planning to go there, be very careful of your Bill as well. They serve less but charge full amount, especially the drinks! I have to give 1 star as the website doesn’t allow me to post my review, but honestly this place doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

My husband and I were staying in the falls for my birthday and we're big fans of Indian food. The food here is absolutely wonderful, flavorful and fragrant. The service was great, not too overbearing but always within reach when needed. We both had the chicken biryani and we ended up having the leftovers for lunch the following day, the portions are huge! And our amazing dinner was under $60 and a walk away from our hotel. We were there for four days and ate out about two to three times a day, this was by far our favorite meal. Will definitely be back.

I won't give even one star. I asked the waiter to keep food mild and he said yeah it's not tat spicy and I just took one bite of their shrimp biryani and tiki chaat each food and I had to leave my whole food and throw it bcoz it was way way spicy. I like spicy food but tat food was horrible spicy. I am never going there again.

Delicious food, reasonably priced, attentive service. Curry comes with rice, nann and pappadum, generous serving for price. Was a very busy night and waitstaff clearly very busy and rushing however still very happy with meal.

The food took over an hour to prepare and when it did come, didn't taste good. The cream used in the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala had a distinct smell and seemed expired. The only saving grace of the meal was the lamb vindaloo which was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice.

Food is OK, but service depends whom you get. Half of the staffs are new and have no clue how to deal with the customer. Price is little expensive (Chicken Biriyani-$16+tax). If you request additional Raitha, $5. I would prefer a buffet place and this place don’t offer buffet.

Is there anything less than 1 star? Recently visited this place with 4 of my other friends and I am thankful that we were served water because any other dish that we wished to order was not available. The server showed us the portion of the curry and it will suffice 1 individual only and it is expensive too.

This pathetic restaurant doesnt even deserve 1 star. Poorest service ever and not at all authentic (I am Indian). We should have just walked away! I hope people read these reviews, as it will save you your money and prevent your mood from horribly spoiling!

I really doubt of some very 5 star comments to this place, which they don’t deserve it or probably they are made up. I would not give any star to this restaurant. We had baby with us, but they don’t care or they are busy in playing noisy dance music. Their customer service is worst, I had to sat my baby beside me, which he fell on the floor and hurt his head & back. No one came to see what happened, the server came to take order after 15 mins later after we sat. My family started showing their frustration as no one would come and tell or bring us food. I had to go personally to the desk to ask for the waiting time, and order showed up after 20 mins, overall it took 35 mins for just vegetable rice & lentils. The quantity is not fair what you pay for. The only thing about this restaurant is location, I have been to many restaurants but this one I have put as blacklisted.

We enjoyed eating at Moksha and the was really delicious. The staff were really friendly and the food was served on time. By the way, tips were automatically added to the total so we paid tips twice

Food was incredible. Exactly what I expect an Indian place to taste like. Clean. Trendy decor. Unique menu items also. Would definitely say best indian restaurant in Niagara.

Excellent food! The chef is obviously very very good and accomplished. The portions are perfect and priced to reflect the quality of the food. Our server Mridul had such a smiling personality. Keep it up guys - you are a hidden gem in Niagara ON!

The food was horrible. The nann was under cooked. The chicken was spoiled and had a smell to it. If you’re reading this review please never go to that restaurant. I’m telling you from my experience it was extremely bad the waiter laughed at us and the food is extremely expensive definitely not worth your time or money so please do not go here!
