I've been coming here for a little over a year now and have been bringing friends here, with everyone being very impressed. I like that the menu is fairly small, and everything I've tried on it is fantastic. I highly recommend the mandi! I'm not very familiar with Yemeni food other than at this restaurant, but the way they prepare the mandi is almost like a biryani and it is amazing. The meat is also very well made. The service is fast, and the manager is very friendly. I don't even live nearby, but I will drive almost an hour at least 3-4 times a year to eat here.
Monasaba has great Yemeni food. Everything we've tried there is delicious and the people at the restaurant are incredibly polite and helpful explaining the dishes
The atmosphere was friendly and the staff were great. The owner or manager that was there showed great attention to the costumers. The food itself was delicious! We ordered the mini mix and the chicken was perfectly crispy and tender, and the lamb was melt under your bite. Finally, the price you pay for the amount of food you get is very fair. Would come again for sure!
Not as authentic as I thought speaking from a yemeni standpoint, the ghalaba that is in my video was okay, i also bought bread roti they sold me wasn't fresh it was old, overall very disappointed I had high hopes I waited for them to open and wanted to go there for some time and the inside interior was very nice hopefully in the future there will be a better cook inshallah I want them to do better.
I tried Yemen cuisine for the 1st time Only 2-3 Veg options Surprised to see similarities with Indian cuisine like their dishes are called "Mandi" which is market in many languages in India
Milk tea was nice similar to Indian tea
Food quantity, quality & freshness was good however very bland taste Only 2 veg options Both beans, taste like Mexican refried beans
Very well decorated, clean place Nice lighting, ample seating Cashier was very friendly however kitchen took 30mins to make 1 item
The request was completed, and after a long wait inside the restaurant, the employee says that no confirmation of the request has been made from the employee. A very bad experience. I do not advise
Food quality is excellent. Neat and clean environment. Probably the staffs forgot the order of our Shahi Adani, so was delivered pretty late. Other than that, service is good.
Ordered chicken mandi, didnt get the real taste, its like oven baked, but the rice is really good, i recommend afandi mandi restaurant for authentic chicken mandi
I have asked the front desk lady multiple times not to forget the toppings and to put them on the side of the order! She assured me everytime that she put them and I was handed the bag closed/stapled. I arrive home (30 mins driving away), open the bag, and guess what, the toppings are missing! How hard is it to put the toppings in the freaking bag and how hard is it to at least check once when the customer asks you to check!
This could be a minor issue but it ruined the whole mood of the family gathering! Very irresponsible act!
The food was okay, but not impressive for this price point. Customer service was good, just I wanted to impress my friends with good food choice selection and failed. Lamb and chicken was tough and lack of flavor, the qobolat was okay.
Every time I go there or order from there I love this place more and more, Tasty food, excellent costumes service, friendly crew and beautiful interior design. Apparently the whole place was made out of passion and creativity not just a business.
? Got to visit this beautiful place finally after the longest time @monasabacanada
They are a Yemini restaurant, bringing all the Yemen dishes to the table. My gosh revived some of my memories of my stay in Riyadh
The most popular item is their Mandi Mandi is a traditional dish that originated from Hadhramaut, Yemen, consisting mainly of meat and rice with a special blend of spices, cooked in a pit underground. It is extremely popular and prevalent in most areas of the Arabian Peninsula, and even considered a staple dish in many regions.
We got to try these items
LAMB & CHICKEN MIX Roasted lamb to perfection sitting on a bed of aromatic Basmati Rice with the option of fried onions, almonds and raisins on top. FASOLIA White beans with seasoned tomato sauce. ? NAKIE Quality black raisins soaked in water for hours to deliver a perfect cup of juice.
All I can say the Mandi was simply amazing! The meat both chicken and lamb were so tender and the flavours blended really well.
We came all the way from K-W region and this place didn’t disappoint us at all! As soon as we entered we smelled the tasty food we were used to back home ️ The staff are friendly and the order came hot and fast We gave the food 100/100 and we wish to come back soon!
Food here is amazing. I highly recommend the Lamb Mandi as well as the Nakie to drink. The food was unique and delicious. Lamb Mandi features fried onions, almonds, raisins, potatoes and capers. The sauce that comes with the dish is also fantastic.
We ordered uber eats from this place. One thing to notice is the price on under eats is about 30% more expensive plus delivery and fees and tips can get you another meal if you just go and pick it up. The food however was really good. We ordered lamb and chicken mandi mix and it was definitely for 3-4 people portion sizes. We were just 2 and had it for multiple meals. The lamb was fall of the bone and was not overpowering, chicken wasn't dry but flavorful. The rice, now that was really good, it should be an absolute must to get it with raisins, crispy onions and almonds it won't taste the same without. Definitely recommend to pick up from the place, if no choice then get delivery.
This is my first time in a Yemeni restaurant, this is the taste of the original mandi, the speed of the food arrival I loved it, I liked the place very much and also the welcoming team especially the worker Yasmine and the worker Mariam they are smiling, cheerful and very welcoming Really I will give you 5 stars Keep it up
Yara has the best customer service. It was my first time there and I was unfamiliar with the food they offer, but she explained the entire menu to me very clearly and I was really thankful for her assistance. Keep it up Yara!
We placed our order online on Friday for pick up on Saturday…when we got there, we waited 1/2 hour for the order.what’s the point of ordering ahead of time? Quite embarrassing since we had guests waiting for their lunch! This is not a cheap restaurant…it was very disappointing.
When I say the meat is fall off the bone, I mean it. Try picking up the leg portions of the Chicken Mandi and see if it remains intact. While Monasaba is a little more pricey than its competitors, the difference in quality is so large that the slightly higher price is worth the significantly better quality. Can't go wrong with either the Chicken or the Lamb Mandi, excellent portions no matter what size you get, mouth wateringly tender meat, and rice cooked to perfection.
Made by Yemenis, tastes similar to a breezy desert night with a full moon, a marquee filled with faux furniture, drums in the air and laughter in the sand. You gotta try this place. If only it was made more affordable. Or deals or something. I know they are the only as authentic as can be Yemeni place in Sauga, but come on, I want to go there more not less.
Excellent service and food. Staff was friendly and helpful. Large portion and high quality of food. The place took all health precautions and was kept clean. First time trying Yemeni food and it was an excellent experience, would absolutely go back again soon.
Paid 11$ for Lots of rice and tiny small leg of bird. I don’t know what kind of bird or a bat it was so tiny. And when I called the store about the food. She said it’s quater no matter what type of bird
Nice location, easy parking, cooperative staff, but I did not like the meat. The rice is very good, prices are pretty high specifically for the tea, bread and salads. As a take away meal experience it is pretty good.
I have ordered twice from this place and although their Mandi Lamb is tasty I am highly disappointed with their customer service. I had put a note to pack my double order in two boxes however they still packed it in one and then I even called the restaurant and requested to add extra chutneys. She agreed and took down my name and still didn't send them. If the restaurant doesn't care after I put a note AND call them then really have no words about their service. I really would've given 4 star or more if they had good customer service.
I went here a couple of years ago, and I ordered again through door dash due to lack of options around for delivery. The Monday was just OK. The meat was seasoned well and the portion was big. As you can see I ordered the half chicken and half lamp. The best option is Mandi Afandi. It’s a good choice to have when you are not willing to drive
Don't let the external plaza environment deceive you. Simple yet thoughtful interiors and ambiance transporting you to the essence of Yemen for a short period of time. Delicious value-for-money food. And the icing on the cake – the cheerful service.
Great food. Consistently good quality. Have known them since they opened in other smaller location. Still returning to pick up their Mandi and will continue to do so.
One of best places to have authentic Yemeni Food. The quality and taste of their food is second to none. Amazing customer service combined with authentic taste. Their lamb mandi is to die for. I have tried their food multiple times from both their locations in Mississauga and Vaughan and the taste and consistency is bang on. Keep it up guys!
Best mandi i have had in GTA! Lamb and chicken are very tender! Beef qolaba is also delicious. Only recommendation would be to have more rice in the serving! Keep it up!
They have gotten soo much worse food was cold and bread was hard and stale and also I order double the lamb and I got mostly bones with a little bit of meat
Tried their lamb mandi and Qeema thing sorry forgot the name but it was yum yum. 4 stars only because felt rice was little bland wish it had more flavour.
Clean and tasty food just like the pictures. Very polite and cool service. One of the staff, called ghiath helped guide us through the menu effectively and kindly. He was very enthusiastic. 10/10
The restaurant is very excellent and the food is well prepared.we came last Thursday when one the employees, I think his name was Ghiath, assisted us by recommending dishes. Wonderful presentation overall and exception service.
I went a couple days ago and the food was so nice and it had a really good flavour, I would recommend people go here and try it out if they want to go to a new restaurant to eat! One of your workers names Ghaith was really respectful and helped us find the perfect dish combination for us! Great service!
Food was delicious.that’s what we went for. The first impression of the place usually gets you hooked. Our first impression was excellent. Price was just right, everything including the desert was superb. The ambiance was wonderful. The place was roomy and cozy at the same time.great job guys
It's been years these people have been feeding me. I can't find anything wrong yet, except for making me fatter (thanks for that). Regardless, they are consistent and overall formidable with quality. Word of advice to the owners. Please do not reduce portions!
Monasaba restaurant has an excellent selection of Yemenite food. Decent pricing, great tasting food and quantity is definitely enough to to make 2 meals out of a single meal. Do try the tea at Monasaba as that an absolutely excellent!
It was on Valentine's day that we tried this Yemeni restaurant. Inside was totally different from a fine dining place. It is down to earth and comfortable with perfect lighting. The mural was what it tells about the place. Very insightful.
It is like, place your order at the counter and they will bring to the table. Simple. Hassle free.
Chicken Mandi and Beef Qolaba was what we had. The Chicken Mandi rice with spices, raisins and nuts were so deliciously good. So was the stir fried Beef Qolaba which comes with freshly made Yemeni bread. Our first time tasting such authentic cuisine. Love it!
This is where you find the real taste of Mandi. I have tried Mandi in many locations in Canada. But when it comes to authentic taste, Monasaba is where you should go. It taste similar to the Mandi in the Middle East.
It's a nice place, really good food. I just didn't like the use of paper plates, it's not environmentally friendly and also takes away from the experience. The service was ok, there was one really hard working boy, the other waiters had to be reminded of our order as they were too busy chatting away.
Giving one less star because during my last visit here the food wasn't as good as it usually is. It was cold and the kolaba meat was very chewy. I hope the owner takes notice of this problem.
Monasaba is great.their Mandi is very authentic and tasty. The double is enough for 2 adults I guess. It's on the pricy side for a Mandi restaurant but money well and happily spent. ️
My friends and I have been looking for new halal restaurants for us to try in Mississauga and we were so pleased with the aesthetic! The food was absolutely phenomenal and the staff was so helpful and friendly. The menu was so simple and easy to comprehend. 10/10 definitely going to recommend this place to everyone. (The bathrooms were so cool shoutout to the Interior designer)
