Always good and fresh food close to the home. However prices are slightly higher compared to other grocery stores.

Edit: over the past couple of years this grocery store has really gone down hill.

Prices are absolutely insane, staff seem miserable, self checkouts were implemented and have a liquor store type vibe when you're checking out. I've also frequently purchased baked goods that are stale right when you get them home.

They've also become incredibly stingy at the hot food bar, and produce quality remains extremely low and exorbitantly priced. Strongly suggest going elsewhere.

The price gouging has reached extreme levels. Can buy most things for way less elsewhere, yet they keep rising.

Great store, and I was pleased to see the selection of alcoholic beverages. Nice to be able to do all your shopping in one place.

Selling expired overpriced goods or bagels for 5 bucks a pop with one day left on them
Juice boxes 2 dollars more expensive than Walmart
Packaged lunch meat 5 dollars more than Walmart.

Your store is overpriced garbage

Went to the customer service due to an item scanned three times. Was told the cashier who scanned worked there for 6 years, and no apologies were given in the first place. I don't care if he worked there for a long time. Mistakes can happen, which is fine. My impression was that the customer service was trying to defend themselves and bothered by something that's not my fault.

Fresh produce was completely empty this morning… not sure if it’s because of March Break and not enough workers… everything else was stocked up completely well and organized!

Best IG in Ottawa. Clean, always well stocked, friendly staff too to bottom, lots of easy access parking.
And now with the new self checkout it’s a home run

Refused to be served prepared food (salad) at 1915hrs because the salad bar was being closed! Folks, 1915hrs is still dinner time for many! Manager directed me to the exist door! Mr Moncion needs to take control back of this grocery store where customers were treated with respect!

Nice indepent grocery store.no complaints whatsoever and a few other businesses in the parking areas.a broadways and pharmacy and gas station and pet store etc.

I have been shopping here for years and today I experienced the worst customer service from a certain individual at the bakery section at 7: 30 pm check how one of your associates was throwing around the deserts I was purchasing and how rudely he? Pulls out the the stickers from the receipt machines, I'm sure you guys got cameras back there. It's usually great here but not today.

Last night I asked the butcher department for a family pack of mild Italian sausages. I didn’t look at the package but trusted in the person who was serving me.
I arrived home and my husband noticed that I was given Honey Garlic Sausages. What a disappointment in service. Unfortunately, it was not the first time

The most AMAZING Deli/Catering staff! They went above and beyond creating sandwich trays for my Dad's funeral. My go-to store for catering!

All in all, good grocery store. Produce could be fresher, prices are high. Decent deals on chicken sometimes. Staff is usually pretty cheerful.

Please stop asking me if I want a credit card. I’ve been coming 3 days a week for 7 years and every time I come I get asked and pushed to sign up for pc banking. I’m not interested in pressure sales on top of the high prices. Pick one or lose a customer.

Saw an army of health inspectors a few days ago. The owner was also screaming at his staff to work faster overall unimpressed for my first time there.

Big, clean store with a lot of produce, friendly staff. It's a relatives regular stop and she's always been pleased with them.

This place is horrible, music is blasting, products are past shelf date and prices and surprisingly high. Yeah location is convenient but that's about it

Ordered a chocolate birthday cake from Metro. Metro told me they had no chocolate icing. Cancelled the order with Metro, ordered a chocolate birthday cake from Moncion's. Picked up my cake from Moncions and it was vanilla-counted myself extremely lucky my five year old didn't have a meltdown (no thanks to Moncion's). Should have stuck with Metro, at least they were honest about not having or being able to make chocolate icing. Couldn't find a complaint form on their website so I'm complaining here. Get your cakes from Metro, folks.

Friendly staff and a great selection of products. This is my local grocery store and I'm always happy to swing by!

Warning! Don't get the hot and fresh chicken meals there as they are NOT FRESH! Left sitting there under heat lamps for God knows how long! Guaranteed to make you sick!

Always fresh produce, great butcher, wide range of PC products, one stop shop, and the employees are always positive and look as if they enjoy working there.

I have been going to the Moncion's pharmacy for years now and never had a problem. Today I called in the prescription for my cat. She was prescribed 2 inhalers, one Ventolin for flare ups and the other Flovent which I give on a regular basis for her asthma. So when I called it in, I asked for the Flovent and specifically told the gentleman on the phone its the inhaler I give every day. So I picked it up and when I got home realized they had given me the wrong one, the Ventolin. I called them and advised them of such and stated I would like my money back at which time the woman said they would refund me. She then looked at my file and stated that she did not have a Flovent prescription on file. I immediately called my Vet and she told me that she had made a mistake when she first called it in a few months ago and gave them the wrong medication (Flonase and not Flovent). She made the changes with them and advised me that the Flovent was now ready to pick up. When I arrived, the pharmacist who is usually so very nice said she could not refund me because it was my fault. I explained to her that when I spoke to the gentlemen on the phone, I made sure to tell him the Flovent Inhaler one a day puff is what I needed and not the Ventolin for flare ups. He never told me I only had one inhaler (the Ventolin) on file and not the Flovent as the other prescription was a nasal spray. I was only told that after I got home with the wrong meds and called them. The pharmacist said because it is not their mistake she cannot refund me when indeed it is actually both the Vet's mistake for given the wrong prescription and the gentleman at the pharmacy as he never told me I only had one inhaler on file. I was obviously upset and was trying to explain to the pharmacist the situation and she refused to serve me saying I was rude when in fact she was the one being rude talking over me and not wanting to listen. I don't know if she was having a bad day but you don't treat your customers this way when none of this was my fault. I am very disappointed. I will transfer my file somewhere else and will never recommend this pharmacy to anyone again.

Bought watermelon from this location and was bad. I dont know what it really was because it looked something that I have never seen before. Waste of money dont buy watermelon from this location. This was the second time this happened.

Absolute hands down best Independent in town, in fact I'd say best grocery store in town though I could easy be accused of being biased as I live in the area! That said, i've visited many a store and still haven't run into one that compares! Thank you team Moncion, y'all rock

Really enjoyed PC Express, the grocery online order and pickup program. The website is easy to navigate, your staff is super nice, and the parking spots are conveniently located.

This is my go to for meat. Not sure why but the rib eye and prime rib is better than other locations. Joe and staff are great.

Clean store. Sometimes they have steaks on sale. I am writing this during covid lockdown.there is significantly better social distancing than other stores such as T&T for example (earning them that 4th star). I have never seen an expired item on the shelf. Prices are so-so for some items like fresh vegetables but pretty good for meat and frozen goods.

They have over-charged me incorrectly at least three times over the years though (once I got very angry)! CHECK your bill before you leave if you are in doubt.

Ridiculously expensive! Milk everywhere is $4.39, but here the same milk is $2.00 more expensive. Why? No idea, but I only buy here whatever I could not find somewhere else

Usually have to wait outside in line (uncovered). The altered access to sections inside due to Covid is tedious to navigate. It's bigger than my closest grocer (Foodland) but not really better.

Nice store - well laid out and clean. Standard COVID precautions for shopping at the moment. Lots of parking and in-store pharmacy.

Everything in this store is extremely over priced. The kids who work here haven't been properly trained either. I only go here out of necessity and I'm disappointed every time.

Really bad customer service.
I got charged twice and bring my bank printouts to customer service this morning.
The manager was called and he was a very unpleasant and use bad language (I am not going to give your money back).
After waiting for 25 minutes he ask the clerk to give my money back and not even apologize.
Taking my business elsewhere.

I didn't like how one of the older cashiers was talking to her friends while she was grocery shopping assumably after her shift and blocking access to the grab and go counter. The other employees who were on duty were more helpful.

This has to be the cleanest independent I have been too. Staff is always friendly and smiling. Glad to be moving to riverside south soon, I'll continue my shopping there.

I have found that they have been very safe during this pandemic. They have been constantly stocking to try to keep products on the shelves. This is my main grocery store.

This is my first time venturing out for grocery in weeks, I have tried to avoid trips to the grocery as much as possible. In fact, I have limited my trips to just prescription refills and grocery shopping once every 3 to 4 weeks.
I have lots of respect for the staff, and in general, everyone who is out there providing the service we need. What are we going to do without these people?
However, my trip to Moncion Independent Grocer wasn’t a pleasant one today. It started out very pleasant with the gentleman greeting us at the door, I was very grateful! Then I was yelled at by a customer when I entered one of the aisles the wrong way and was trying to figure out a way to move forward. It was already confusing enough to follow the new rules since the last time I visited the grocery store, these rules did not exist then. I hope people could be more patient as we sort out the new rules to abide. I am a human being, not a virus. Fortunately, another gentleman directing customers to the cash was also very pleasant, so I felt much better thinking at least my trip ended pleasantly. Nope, that would have been too easy! I waited for the customer in front to complete his transaction, moved to the end of the conveyor belt to bag his grocery. I was yelled at when I placed my items onto the conveyor belt to go through the cash, the cashier told me that I had to wait until she cleansed the conveyor belt and said ‘yes’ before I could placed my grocery there. I apologized to her 3 times explaining that I wasn’t aware of the rule, but she wouldn’t stop, just went on and on about how I broke the rule, I am sure I did not commit a crime that can’t be forgiven! This is new to me as I have not shop for grocery in a month, I did not know about the new rule, and there was no sign or notice in front of the counter asking customers to wait for the ’yes’ from cashiers. Besides every store has its own rule, so how would I know? ! I was quite upset at that time and was ready to turn to her and ask: “And how many times do you replace your gloves during the day? ” Peace lady! Peace! We are all under pressure and depression, a little kindness goes a long way!
But I did not want to create a scene, and besides, I am extremely grateful to the 2 gentlemen (one at the door and the other one directing traffic at the cash registers) who were so nice and pleasant!
