We booked our room on Christmas day. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are neat and clean. The only problem I could find was that the lift was not working during night time, also the breakfast is very basic. Tea and coffee was cold. Very limited option in complimentary breakfast. You will not provided with water bottles, you have to purchase one from the vending machine. Toothpaste toothbrush is not included in your toiletries that also needs to be taken from vending machine. Overall, it was an okay experience.

This experience was different than my other stays at other locations. This location was okay if your on a lay over on business but I didn’t like the elevator was out of order after the first hour after check in. If I had knee issues having to take stairs to the top floor.

Room lighting was oddly limited which I was surprised compared to any place I stayed.

Then breakfast staff at the restaurant seemed little rude when I requested take out containers to take breakfast which I paid for when I booked.

As others mentioned overpriced for the worth of location of the hotel.

I know running a hotel/inn is not a easy job and requires 24/7 efforts. I have stayed with my wife in this inn for four consecutive nights in the late days of April 2023. Contrary to other review that I have read so far, we observed our king room to be quite clean, and quite. The bathroom and bathtub were all clean. The restaurant meal was a bit expensive but variety of healthy meals in a good quality could be ordered. Breakfast was on hotel and vouchers can be provided on a daily basis between 8 am to 10 am. Breakfast was limited to few things and it is not fancy, but served in the dining room/restaurant every morning. The manager of the hotel and other staff that we faced were quite polite and professional. There was always someone in reception desk 24/7. The check in and out was quite easy, just put the unit entrance keys on the front desk or give it to the front desk staff. They charge $100 extra but will return it back if the reserved unit is in good condition when you leave. Overall, it was very good experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel/inn.

Stayed here for eleven nights in the King Rainier Suite while on a business trip. The suite is absolutely massive and sits on two floors. The jetted tub downstairs is lovely, however the bed is extremely firm and the room gets quite bright when the sun rises because there are no curtains for the upper window. The staff were all very courteous and kind. However I would avoid the restaurant. The free breakfast is alright but the upgrade isn’t even worth the $7. The lunch and dinner menu consists of overpriced Costco products. The outside of the hotel is absolutely beautiful especially when the fountain is going, and the inside is very clean. The large, bright stairwell even smells like grapes.

It was the night of December 23rd, and a brutal Winter storm. We were in town for a wedding and had booked a room online. In the chaos of driving late at night in whiteout conditions, we actually pulled up to the wrong Monte Carlo Inn. Without hesitation, the front desk attendant switched our reservation to where we had arrived. What wonderful kind service. The room and hotel were 1st rate!

We booked a room on Jan 3rd 2023 on booking app. Went there around 11pm to check in. There was no one at front desk, we had to call the phone number and there was a guy came out. He seems really arrogant and not willing to help with checking in. Some how on the booking app it says opposite first and last name (which we told him at beginning of our checking in process), the guy kept asking about our first and last name and said he couldn’t find our booking. We showed him our confirmation number, he refused to check for us, said there’s nothing he could do. At the moment we had no where to go and we were about to leave he finally said there’s a name with opposite first and last name, and we finally got checked in. I do not understand why the hotel would hire someone with 0 customer serving skill and such a bad and arrogant attitude. Would never come back here again. The cleaning was also not good.

Location is nice, but that's about it. Breakfast buffet has less than 5 items to choose from. Service is horrible if any exists. I don't expect nice greetings, but at least being treated like a normal human being. I'd prefer not being glared at when asking for an extra towel, or being yelled at in front of other guests when trying to take a to-go coffee cup from the breakfast area. I'm your guest, I don't owe you anything.

Amazing king size spacious suites, kept super tidy and hygenic. Breakfast offered daily from 7AM-10AM. Customer service provided the gentleman with glasses was nothing short of friendly. Would definitely be returning back to this location in the future!

This inn has breakfast attached with room rent which makes life a whole lot easier. My room had additional amenities like microwave, mini fridge, iron and table etc. The location is under a kinte away from the nearest bust stop. The breakfast spread contains coffee, tea, bakery assortments, fruits, boiled egg, yogurts, and juices. You can upgrade this for eggs and bacon with $7. The price is quite high, $200+ for rooms that have two beds. Good thing the breakfast comes free.

Visited for the 1st time with my boyfriend for my 25th birthday weekend. My experience was overall positive - the room was beautiful and especially the jetted tub! The hotel has a lovely layout that’s perfect for taking photos and is very close to hot spots around the city. Breakfast was wonderful too and you can even upgrade for $7 to get eggs, sausage, etc. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to everyone I know.

Service when I was booking by phone was horrible. Ignorant ant best. Front counter wasn’t much better.

Insane price on the day I was there. Probably could have caught a spot at the Marriott.
And especially for what you get in a room. Outdated. Emergency exits has no access control so anyone on the street could come and go at any time.

8/10 on the clean scale hence why it wasn’t 1 star.

Would have to be a last resort to stay again.

I'm updating to say that overall the hotel and rooms are nice, clean and conveniently located. HOWEVER, the staff is terrible! During the fire alarm that went off on my first night, the guy at the desk seemed lost and confused as to what to do. Thank goodness a fellow hotel guest took over and started directing people. The police attending the second night to deal with an unruly hitel guest didn't help my stay. In dealing with office staff since, they offered me a better room with a jacuzzi tub for a discounted rate, which is nice of them, but really doesn't make my two sleepless nights with them better! I probably will not stay at this location again! Plus, the lady Carly I was speaking to just stopped communicating with me all together. UPDATE: Absolutely the WORST customer service! The rooms are nice, clean and spacious but this place is not worth the money or headache you will receive from the staff!

Sans confirmation, je suis allé ailleurs, maintenant je me ramasse avec une facture pour une chambre que j'ai jamais eu. Very horrible staff that showed blatant attitude and disregard pertaining to the issue with our room. The jacuzzi that we paid extra for wasn't functioning and all we got for a response was "that's too bad for you, there's nothing we can do".

Hot tub is very nice.
Pretty clean.
There is no bottled water in the room and they charge extra money for toothbrush and bottled water. Oh they only take cash.
Ok we brought the cash to the front desk again and was told that the bottled water was sold out.
Who doesn’t stock up on their bottled water?

Worst customer service in Markham EVER! AVOID this hotel due to every staff there tells you different thing. Rude and no manners to their customer. As a hotel, you should treat your customer at least like a normal person, we paid you and we deserve something good in return, not scamming and yelling.

The hotel room was pretty clean, the bed sheets were clean, but the only problem was the front desk guy at night acted out of place and talked to us from the back not wanting to assist us. He didn’t wear a mask when he came close, and so we asked how he was feeling he said “I’m sick”. A couple days later I got Covid. So really not the best experience when someone works and they do not feel well.

This is a great hotel, always clean, pleasant staff. Truly a home away from home for myself and my partner.

I always look forward to my stay at this hotel, the location is great and the restaurant is decent also.

I recommend it, it’s good value all around.

They charged my credit card for a deposit they were not supposed to then refunded with a weak apology.
Hours later can't buy groceries I planned today. When I called the front desk the lady raised her voice and hung up. Thank Monte Carlo for ruining a weekend.

This is one of our favorite coffee shops. We have known and visited it on and off for more than10 years. In the past, what attracted me was that it hired a live band to perform singing in the evening. During the rest time of the band, it allowed customers of each table to a take turn for singing at the stage. The atmosphere was very good while having your dinner. I didn't know when the live band performance had been cancelled and I missed it very much. On the other hand, it still provides quality western cuisine to the customers at reasonable prices.
Last week, we dined here again after our family gathering. It used to be full and you would have to wait for a time for a table if you did not book it in advance. We ordered 8 special dinner sets. Those who had the fish (cod) gave a rating of slightly above average. My another brother and I ordered the Italian Sausage and pork chop. We love this dish very much. On the whole, the food was good. The average price of each dinner set was $25. Meanwhile, we appreciate the servers who made us satisfied at our meals. They also checked our vaccination document and out IDs strictly.

I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel, that hotel was not awful but the lack of security was a concern. One of the side doors was open all night with a rock. On to the restaurant I waited almost 2 hours for my food, and for the price it was not up to my standers. If you are going to stay that this hotel I recommend you go to the chipotle down the street.

This is a nice hotel, in terms of the coZiness, price and attitude of staff.
For sure you will not have a five star hotel experience, but you enjoy your stay there.
The restaurant food quality can be improved and its price is not worth the quality.

I decided to write a review, something I never do. I have staid a week and I never got the breakfast for it was never offered, no eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, muffins not even cereal. Just a 15 cent banana and a stale cursuant. I chose this place because they advertised a breakfast comes with the room. That is a lie. The coffee maker I had to clean for it was dirty, I had to chase down staff to get clean towels and take out my own garbage. So much for maid service, never saw it once. The restaurant it self looks nice, but the food is horrible I ordered fish and chips and I got over cooked frozen french fries and frozen fish sticks.i do not even eat that at home. So much for fresh fish that is lightly battered and cooked to perfection. The lock on the door does not work very well, had to keep getting my card reprogrammed to get in. Some staff are friendly while others are just extremely rude. The maid service does not speak any English, so you have to go to the front desk to get towels or coffee. The tv did not work in the room so they sent their handyman to fix it and she could not so I ended up fixing it. So my advice is listen to your customers and get rid of the restaurant owner and put one in place one that will respect Monte Carlo and provide a great breakfast for your clients and cook food from scratch and not all this frozen food. The menu has never changed since I got here, no special, and a very limited selection. It is partly my fault for I did not read the reviews about the monte carlo, for the breakfast seems to be the number 1 complaint for a very long time with nothing ever being done about it. So because of the 15 cent banana and frozen processed food being offered I would not stay here again, until they listen to their customers, and start offering breakfast with eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, bagels etc that you get at the other motels.

I gave 4 stars based on my experience, price and food served on breakfast and location. $6 upgraded for full breakfast with 2 eggs over easy, fries hash browns, toast, bacon or sausage, nice coffee, yogurt and fruits. Rooms are clean. Staffs are nice. I stayed here twice now, best value in Markham

Complete garbage hotel. I would give 0 stars but that's not available. Room smelled horrible and heater wasn't working. Tried to get a refund after staying for 30mins but they said we already "slept" there.didn't even touch the blankets or the washroom. Anyways would NEVER recommend to anyone. Stay at any of the surrounding area hotels even if the price is higher.

This place needs to be refurbished. Should have been there a week.spent one night. Our son literally cleaned all the dusty surfaces. Felt as though the room was locked up for decades. Not my favourite place at all.

Upon check in front desk told us that breakfast ends at 11am but when we got there at 10: 32 they wouldn’t let us sit or serve us because they said it ended 2 minutes ago at 10: 30. Horrible customer service employees clearly don’t even know much about their own services.

Our business brought in a consultant for a week and this was the closest lodgings to our business (without having to drive). According to the guest it was decent but requires some upkeep.

Amazing service in the hotel restaurant! Server from the morning before remembered all of our breakfast preferences (group of 7). Complementary breakfast offered as well as $6 upgrade to egg, toast, home fry and meat meal.

Check in was great. Front desk clerk engaged with the children and was very welcoming. Unfortunately, A/C unit in room was leaking. Carpet was soaked, side bed table was drenched and water was raining out onto the bed. Called front desk at 1am to inform. Nothing they could do. No rooms were available for switch. They seemed offended that it was "the middle of the night". We turned the unit off to avoid any further water damage (28 degrees outside). After 10 hours the unit was replaced. Nothing done about the wet carpet. No apologies from the hotel. No compensation offered initially at check out for 10 hours without A/C. Had to explain the water damage money saved by us. Were eventually refunded 20% of one night ($25).

So it's ok. Ok now here's what's bad. The bed is as hard as concrete. The hotel smells like a restraunt. The cable tv has connection issues. There are only two plugs available for your use. No password wifi so someone on the street can see what your doing. The parking lot was full of construction work cars. It's a smoke free hotel but smells like it. Don't make the mistake coming here because of the price. Anyways staff where nice and helpful, the ac worked, and breakfast was fufilling.

I have been staying at the Monte Carlo Inn on Woodbine since January 2021 twice per week for work and still is ongoing. It has been nothing but Wonderful so far.
Hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff is amazing, especially Carly and Pam, always pleasant and willing to assist.

It definitely feels like my 2nd.home.away from home, looking forward to lifting of the
lockdown to enjoy the dining area abit in these covid times

Nice 3-star hotel with a lot of free parking spaces. Spent there in November 2019 for six nights. Our room was clean and tidy. Hotel employees were nice and helpful. There was nothing to complain about.

I was there October 10th, Worst stay ever at any hotel, I don’t know if it’s because of my skin color but the service desk guy had no customer service skills, I checked out of the room before 4 PM with my partner the service desk lady said everything was fine waited more than 20 days for my deposit back and they had the nerve to tell me that I smoked in the room. I called the Head office her name is Laura, She Didn’t let me explain anything, she basically told me her staff is never wrong and told me if I want to further this complaint I should. I’m not a smoker.both my partner and I attended a event the night before in which there was smoke but it must of been on our clothe.who knows but them accusing me of smoking in my room is beyond me. I felt the tension when I first got there and I should of walked out but I was to tired to drive. I felt discriminated.they pulled a fast one on me and they are not getting away with this. I stayed at the best western in Niagara the next day and had the best customer service experience plus the room I was in was beautiful for less disposit. I will fight for my desposit Monte Carlo.u are not getting away with this!

Nice staff and classy rooms. The continental breakfast is pathetic and definitely an opportunity for vast improvement. Very overpriced. Should have just paid the same price to Uber home so I could hang out my cat. Man I miss him. Bruce, if you’re reading this, we are coming home soon buddy.

Employee Raj is very rude and unfortunately doesn't know how to satisfy customers. As a business owner, I would have fired him. Hotel rooms are not as pictures. Lights not working in rooms, bugs in the hotel as well. The breakfast is minimum. Definitely not recommended and Expedia is terrible to deal with in these situations as their poorly trained and poorly English spoken employees did not know how to fix this situation.

I had my wedding reception here. The event co-ordinator Carly was truly a VIP. I cant say enough kind things about her. She was very professional and super friendly. She was there to help set up the night before, there throughout the event and in total every step of the way since I got in contact with the hotel. The food was incredible. I also stayed the night and the room was big and clean and the bed was super comfortable. I will definitely hold another event here and be staying here again.
Thank you to all staff for making my day even more special. They all treated up like we were family.

My daughter had her Wedding Reception here yesterday at this location. The Event Co-ordinator Carly was AMAZING!
She went above and beyond! Every guest that attended my daughter's wedding reception had nothing but wonderful things to say. All staff were wonderful and the food was delicious. The rooms were very clean and very nice. Thank you to all that were involved. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

The food court is very busy during lunch time. The Grandeur Palace Cuisine is good too. The hair cut salon is very cheap. $ 8 for men just cut. $ 13 for everything.

Brutal service at front desk, We were 2 adults and a child, the room had one small queen bed. When I asked the front desk for help they shrugged their shoulders and told me it was my problem because "I choose this hotel? ". The manager offered a cot but for $25 more. I asked if I don't pay you $25 will I have to sleep on the floor. We have stayed at over 100 hotels as a family of 3, first time I have sleep on the floor.

Paper thin walls allow you to hear a sleeping bear snore through the night at 3AM keeping anyone from sleeping well. Halls were permeated with marijuana smoke, seeping into guest rooms. Zero enforcement of the no smoking policy. Restaurant and housekeeping are great, however. Would not recommend if you are a light sleeper or have adverse reactions to smoke.

The building is old and you can tell by the rooms of the hotel and the fountain outside. The rooms are nice and clean but bathrooms need upgrades.

Horrible service. They stated that the breakfast opened at 6: 00. It opened at 6: 32. Because of them, our trip to Canada's schedule got ruined, and we had to reschedule a lot of places. I would give it a one star, if it wasn't for the nice rooms though.

This is where my girlfriend of three years basically told me, she had no feelings for me anymore. She was more committed in making sure her friends were happy as opposed to working on our relationship, so she slowly phased me out. Other than that the beds were pretty comfy.
