When I brought to the receptionist attention that there is a problem in my room with the flusher extremely slow more than usual, well the basic customer service is suggesting that they say sorry for that. But indeed I received a rude response. Why you treat with customers like that?

Booked here for some R&R after an exhausting 10 days camping off grid. Chose the Motecarlo based off the photos on their website and reviews. The hotel was definitely an older hotel and we had a couple concerns with the room - there was dried blood on the blankets and the Jacuzzi tub spit back some filth from the filter. Good customer service though and we made the best of it.
There's currently construction right out front, which we didn't mind but you could hear it a bit in the morning.

I think a lot of reviews are dependent on what you need your hotel for. For me, I need to be greeted and have a clean room. Monte Carlo Inn and Suites fits that bill.

I arrive well before "normal" check in time and simply asked if there might be a room ready. Smiles all around and I was quickly checked in and up to my room.

It was perfect for my needs. I was just staying overnight and then on my way the next morning.

The room was a bit small in comparison to some of the other "chain" hotel rooms, but I certainly didn't feel cramped. The bathroom was spotless!

The only "downfall" might be the speed of the only elevator. IF you happen to be in a rush, the stairs would be a better option. I was not in a rush, so it wasn't a problem for me.

Monte Carlo is my go to hotel when stopping over in Barrie. On or off the 400 is a breeze!

Booked 2mth ahead of time. Put us in the handicapped room. We are not handicapped. No bathtub small bed. Maybe because we booked with agoda

Wow. First off, staff were friendly and helpful, no shade to them, but holy Miley is this place cheap. The room had only one coffee packet - for a king bed! And single ply TP and the included breakfast was rough. This place is budget, but man do they cut corners compared to other hotels at a similar price point. My Scottish ancestors would look at this place and say "I think you should give a little. " Also tub plug didn't function and there was hair in it. Heads up to the management - I would pay an extra dollar a night for two ply toilet paper and two coffee packets (you know- so both people in the room can be awake for your lame breakfast).

Stayed 2 nights while on vacation with wife and 2 kids (6 & 3). 1st night was great, kids loved the pool, we loved the rooms, I would have given full stars if it wasnt for the 2nd night and treatment from staff and manager at check out. 2nd night we got in late and went to bed right away with plans of sleeping in, as we were leaving next day but wasnt in a rush to leave early. At 530am the smoke alarm had other plans and went off in our room jolting me wife and I out of bed thinking there was a fire and quickly getting dressed half asleep to get kids outside. Once I opened the door to the hallway I realized it wasnt the fire alarm for the building, just the smoke alarm and it was only going off in our room. I tried waving a towel at the smoke alarm but it was still going off. No one smoked in the room or had any candles going or anythinmg of that nature, there was no smell of smoke or anything. As I made my way to the phone the alarm went sielent. I called and spoke to front desk, they told me they couldn't see any thing wrong on thier monitors and its probably just chirping becasue the battaries are dead. I told her it wasnt the dead battery chirp it was going off like there was smoke for over 5 minutes but it is off now and we are going back to bed. My kids were scared as there was a tornado warning the night before so it took some time to calm them down and get them back to sleep. Once we all got back to sleep about an hour and a half since smoke alarm went off it went off again. I called front desk right away so they could here alarm. Thay said it is probably dead batteries and we will send someone up to change them. I got a chair and stood up on it so I could press the button on the alarm to silence it. A worker showed up with batteries and removed smoke alarm from cieling. There was no place to change batteries as it was one that plugs in, so worker took the smoke alarm with him back to front desk. When we checked out we asked to speak to the manager as we were not happy as our night and now day was ruined. The kids were cranky and difficult becasue of this and we had a long drive ahead of us. When speaking to the manager she made it seem as if it was our fault the alarm went off saying " These alarms are new and only go off if there is something not right going on in the room". This upset us more and told her our night was ruined and now we have a long drive ahead of us with cranky over tired kids, least you can do is comp us for the 1 night that was ruiend. It wasn't until we walked towards the exit saying we wont be staying here ever again when she agreed to comp us $35. I dont believe this was fair compensation as our night was ruiend, they should have comped us the night, if they would have I would have left a better review because up until that incident I was impressed with my stay and would have returned.

The restaurant is not in service so make other plans for meals. The vending machines for snacks and drinks are also broken. You cannot get dinner there, and I wish this was clearly stated on the website. The complimentary breakfast is lacklustre and chaotic. Even though a full kitchen is seen in the back, it’s only toast, bagels and cereal. If you are gluten intolerant or have allergies, good luck.
They have one senior staff member trying to keep up with the weekday breakfast slam, where you and 10 other people are in a narrow part of the restaurant waiting 5 minutes for a dry bagel to toast. People were frustrated and felt awkward.
The TV picture is extremely fuzzy. No kettle in room and one of those bad coffee makers. The fireplaces in rooms are fake… electric screens? The jacuzzi tub had a dark amber ring around the tub after the first time filling it, and we saw brown specks floating around after we turned the jets on. Pretty gross.
Sheets and pillows are standard and cheap. Like others have said, the way the beds are made is peculiar: no fitted sheet, just a flat sheet tucked in? After working in hospitality, I had never seen that before.
We called down to ask staff for a second duvet and they seemed inconvenienced by our request and told us that another brown blanket would be in the closet, then let us go because they were with another customer? We are a customer, too! We paid for the most expensive room, after all. And we requested a duvet, not a blanket…
The pool is very small. Nothing to write home about. Additionally, there were some safety issues in our room, such as the staircase railing to the loft bedroom was not secure, and our room’s door would not lock properly. There were 2 days where the hotels rooms could be accessed without a key card, anyone could walk in and go upstairs. So of course, on the first night someone knocked on our door. It was a random man looking to visit another room. Security measures need to be addressed.

Very musty smelling in room.and bed not comfortable at all.woke up with a massive headache as well.staff not very hospitable either but location good but there are other hotels right there so other options

Very nice and comfy
The suite was so clean and looked gorgeous. Good Wi-Fi, continental breakfast.
However it didn't have a kettle and the coffee machine didn't work. Also I wish the shower head could be portable for a better experience.

Affordable hotel, friendly staff, clean.
I would stay here again.
The neighborhood isnt great for walking.lots of trash and ugly strip malls.it's next to a highway.

Pay for a fireplace and no fireplace the tv was fuzzy and small took forever for the tub to drain and the hot water was yellow. The vending machines did not work. The ice machine was outside of our room and very loud. Not worth the money

Nous avons pris une suite avec jacuzzi, c'était chouette. Les prix sont corrects pour les services proposés, cependant, le petit déjeuner laisse à désirer, très peu de choix, produits d'une qualité médiocre et aucun contact avec le personnel.

Not as advertised, Pool was out of order, vending machine on our floor was out of order, the free breakfast was continental, no meat and no hot menu.the price was double the advertised price one line.

On the night of May 7 of the current year, I made a reservation online at the Monte Carlo Inn Berrie hotel, myself and my boyfriend. We arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later and the lady at the counter asked me for my ID, I answered that I didn't have it physically but I had a photo on my phone, she told me that she wouldn't accept it like that and my boyfriend told him that he could use his ID and told him that he would go to the car to get his wallet and told him that he could pay in cash and she replied no that they only accept credit cards he went to his car to bring his wallet and I stayed talking to her. She asked me to show her my credit card and I did so she said no no They can pay in cash and I told him he doesn't have a credit card and he came back, but behind us there was a couple with two children. We told him that they would come in and we would wait, so my boyfriend called the next hotel where they told us that they accepted cash and We left, I called repeatedly the first time THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD CHECK IT AND THEY WOULD CALL ME THAT THEY ALREADY HAD MY NUMBER, THE SECOND TIME I SAID. THE MANAGER WAS NOT THERE, THE THIRD PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE CALL TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS THE MANAGER AND THAT SHE WAS SURPRISED AT WHAT I TOLD HER AND THAT THEY DO ACCEPT CASH AND THAT I WOULD CHECK THE CAMERAS AND THAT SHE WOULD CALL ME UNTIL THE DAY I HAVE NOT DONE IT TODAY, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE MANAGER, I am still waiting for his response.

Stayed one night for my childs birthday and I wish I picked a different hotel. Pool was closed for maintenance, the elevator seemed like it would just drop at any second and we felt unsafe using it. Found an ant in the bathroom. Was very noisy. We could here some people having a good time at the very end of the hall when we were at the elevator, very far distance yet still so loud. Heard random banging at all hours, was not easy to sleep. The bed also was not comfortable, I woke in pain. Front desk staff was nice, breakfast staff was a bit rude.

Was good stay over all nice breakfast freindly staff helpful. Easy to get to from hwy nice rooms. Only down fall was toilet sit to low and bath tub is to high to get into.

Failed to inform on the website that their pool was shut down for maintenance yet you still have to pay the full rates. Should get something discounted-no pool

Stayed at this place and it was the worst in 20+ years of staying in hotels all over sw Ontario. Customer service was horrible from start to finish. They don't send confirmation like they say, they bill cc without confirmation on price. The beds don't have fitted sheets so you get wrapped up in the sheet that isn't even tucked in all all sides. The bed we has had broken springs that went through my back when I slept. The room was ice cold and the heater did not work properly, had to get up a few times during the night to turn it on. The phone did not work, nor did the TV. Not even local tv. Lol the continental breakfast is a joke. We turned back in our tickets it was a joke. You don't get a receipt so i have no idea what they are charging me as they could not tell me after 4 calls to them. Front desk called around to other rooms, trying to get them to say we were too loud one night.lol joke on Front desk, those rooms joined in on our little gathering and told us what they were up to. This is NOT a good hotel for kids or teams of any kind.stay away! There are other options on the same street. Don't give this hotel any money.

I booked this hotel prior to coming back from our vacation. I received a message when we landed saying that our room was cancelled because our credit card was rejected. However, we had just paid for our parking with the same card and there was no problem with our card. It's obvious that our card numbers were not properly inputted in the system. We ended up getting a small room at the Monte Carlo, and there was no plug in the bath tub so no bath for me. They still charged me the same rate as the larger room. I called the Manager when I got back home. I explained what happened, and she said that she would check the room and call me right back. She never did call me.

It's clean and an ok place to stay with the family. The pool area isn't the cleanest.
