Monte Carlo Inn - Vaughan Suites

The absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had. Me and my partner booked our room to have a nice new years together. We booked over the phone and was told it was a room with jacuzzi tub when we arrived in person the deposit was $100 more then we were told it would be and the hotel was tacky and dirty. The staff at the front was VERY unprofessional and unorganized, took them forever to get our room key set up. When we finally got our room keys we went up to the room and tried to get in and the room was already occupied with two other people. We went back down to the front again, they didn’t believe us that people were in the room and spent over 30 minutes going back and forth with us and arguing amongst themselves. At that point we were told they over booked and had no more rooms left at all let alone with a jacuzzi tub. They refused to give us a refund and fully charged us for the room which I will now have to dispute with my bank. Staff had terrible attitudes and took zero accountability. Completely ruined mine and my boyfriend’s New Year’s Eve.

Checked in 4pm December 23rd the room was ice cold like 17 Celsius the heat was not turned on. Took like 2 hours to get the room temperature for a normal level. There was no temperature setting possible to set the room temperature so needed to turn it on and off all night long.
The room I got was the most expensive suit in the hotel. It was spacious but very dated not comfortable.
The bed mattress was something I would have threw out long time ego.just saying
Maybe 3 star is generous.hahaha

Excellent room, spacious, with desk, comfortable bed, good shower. Walmart is close by, you can walk there. The hotel restaurant serves great food!

Pros - good price, 5-10 min walk to subway and metro. Walmart right around the corner, various eating places in walking distance.room big enough. Clean bathroom, cleaning staff friendly, a little language barrier, Free continental breakfast.
Cons - Front desk staff need to work on their customer service, not helpful and unfriendly, i had a lot of bags and was struggling and no one came to help, just finding out information from them was a struggle, not much channels for viewing and show rentals didn't work, lost money that was a struggle to get back, kitchen staff was not friendly, wish there were more options for breakfast, sheets were not changed for my entire visit, beds were just made up. Room had a musky scent. Really hated how unfriendly and unhelpful the desk staff were.

Summary - I will not recommend and would not be staying again, but then again you get what u pay for.

Service sucks here. We extended our booking 1 night for 2 rooms and paid ahead. But while checking out we were asked to pay again even we showed the receipt at the front desk. The lady at the front desk should know the job she’s doing. We were showing her the transaction but she was not understanding. We were also getting late for our flight. Thankfully, the guy at the counter made her understand that we had paid.

Love the Monte Carlo Inns. My go to hotel. Reminds me of being in Italy - great ambiance, great staff, great (free) breakfast. What more can you ask for? ! Shout-out out to all the staff & Sandy who is the epitome of professionalism and care for customer service. I wish you the best professionally and personally! LAST BUT NOT LEAST - SO NICE TO SEE BIBLE'S in the room. Do NOT REMOVE, KEEP THEM IN EVERY ROOM.

Great hotel, rooms were massive and common spaces had a luxury feel. Only complaint is that the breakfast left a lot to be desired. However, it was free, so can't really complain.

First they question whether i paid already.it is hotwire of course i did.i go to room it smells like cigarette but i am too tired and dont care and go to bed.bed is very uncomfortable.i asked to check out early because hotel is very unsatisfactory, they said i need to talk to manager and he was hard to get in touch until 2nd day.finally agreed to refund when i checked out 2 days early.they refuse to give me a print out proving i checked out.i am yet to see the refund after 1 week. I would not recommend this place.

The hotel is quite old, but the room was clean, the air conditioning worked well. TV had an HDMI connection, with which a Chromecast could be used, which was positive. The service leaves a lot to be desired. We had to put a $100 deposit on the credit card, which we didn't understand at all as we hadn't had to do that anywhere. We would even have had to deposit 300 dollars in cash. The breakfast was a disaster, definitely not worth the money.

Great stay, remarkably quiet, with an Italian restaurant downstairs. I had the jacuzzi suite and it was amazing after a long flight/drive and day of working. Reasonable prices, with lovely staff. I would stay here again!

I was in king size jacuzzi room. All night some noise came from jacuzzi, it is extremely loud. Also if someone talks outside the door, you can hear all the conversation! Other than noise, room was clean and bed was comfy

Coming off the elevator the halls smelled clean. Our room was spacious and once again clean smelling. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were crisp and, once again, smelled cleaned. The coffee in the morning was not to bad considering. Would definitely be back and recommend.

Housekeeping staff is very good.
They clean your rooms whenever you need it.
Was not satisfied with the breakfast.
You have to eat what they give, no options to choose from.

It's Thanksgiving. I don't have much to be thankful for. Can't stuff a turkey but does anyone want to stuff me?

Pillow cases were dirty (black marks and stained yellow). Hairs in the bathroom. Can hear EVERYTHING outside of your room …street traffic, people in the hallways, doors opening and closing, people using their water in the rooms nearby. I came here to rest and enjoy one night away from chaos… I’m a light sleeper so this is the last time I come here for a night away. Definitely not worth the price. $$$
The front desk was crowded and disorganized on arrival. I couldn’t hear the guy behind the glass, over the noise of other guests who were not socially distanced at the front counter. It was awkward and unprofessional.
Overall the place is noisy, not a relaxing atmosphere for those looking for a peaceful night and undisturbed sleep.

Room was clean, small small tub for six foot guy, no jets.
Went to the gym oh my 2-5lbs + 2-15 lbs wieghts, a bike a treadmill and a full gym that would have been good but missing parts that make it
functional.

The hotel reception isn't very friendly, the pop machine was out of soda but they had no other refreshments, the room was decent and clean but the fireplace doesn't work. Tried the wall switches still nothing.

My son got married. The whole wedding party stayed here. Once wedding party signed it early morning after reception, the guy at the reception desk was very rude, with an attitude. My son and wedding party were not impressed

Said room was available for dayuse on the phone and then when I arrived, they said it's not available. Terrible service.

If you are planning to stay there for a night, then come with all your home supplies because they won't give you anything.

They don't have the following:

Dental kit

Shaving kit

Hair cover

Slippers

Netflix

Milk

Sugar

Feather blanket

Hand sanitizer (even for the sake of covid, still nothing)

The carpet is discussing wreaked of cigarette smoke they have one vision money I DON'T RECOMMEND this place I wasn't the only unhappy person one couple called the police due to overcharges

Staff was extremely friendly. Unfortunately the rooms did not meet expectations. Also charged for a playpen and never showed up after requesting it twice. Last visited this establishment in 2010 - 2011 and it’s really gone downhill.

Room smelled like cigarettes. Site was deceptive as it advertised it as including breakfast but was simply a continental breakfast with no seating.

Our stay was excellent! Staff always had a smile or a "hello" we had a last minute adult come with us. I asked if we could possibly get a 2 bed room (3 in our party) instead of 1 king and we were accommodated, np! Actually got a bigger room! This was the August long weekend. Very clean, smelled fresh. Beds ok but comfy. Continental breakfast was a surprise as I didn't think it was included. Great value for price! Would stay again!

Clean, friendly front desk staff (except for one who was all business), well appointed rooms, a short drive between 407 and Canada's Wonderland, and across the street from a super-sized everything store. The included (covid) grab-and-go breakfast was heavily processed junk except for the juice and banana.

Gym equipments not working. Hole in the middle of my bed.
Poor breakfast.really bad hotel I do not recommend it.

FIRST AND LAST TIME EVER STAYING AT THIS HOTEL!
The only acceptable thing was the Jacuzzi.that's it!
I checked for bed bugs didn't find any because I've heard and seen pictures that this location has them. The bed was horrible. The pillows were awful.the Jacuzzi light was pushed up to the point I thought there was a camera in it lol.the heater on the wall looked like it was falling off.stains on the showee curtains it looked like burns.and then to be woken up at 230am by banging from another room.we finally called the front desk who came up and knocked on the door for noise complaints at 530am it still continued.we said screw it and was out by 830am. And because we booked through Expedia we were told nothing could be done. Save your money and go elsewhere! I took pictures of everything as soon as we entered the room with time stamps because I've seen this hotel charge ppl for broken things and the swore they didn't do it.and yes there were many questionable things I took pictures off because I was not going to be blamed for any of it! Front desk needs Customer service classes ASAP!

I think the one who works in the reception should learn to be tactful and nice with the hotel guests, and also should show a smile with the morning greeting. The two ladies who were working in the reception do not know how to say good morning. The word “what do you want” is not acceptable in hotel work, but the smile and morning greeting, and how can I provide any service to the guest, this is the language of hotels.

Clean, good food. *update* stayed here again dec 31. This is still 5 star. The king with sofa is recommended if you have a kid with you. Its divided by half wall? Hard to explain. That area has its own tv and remote. Well done. If you really want to find something to complain about, the breakfast ain't all that but who cares the rest is amazing

Book on their website and they had special for 2n nights and get 100$ back. Got there and they were all mixed up gave a queen size when I ordered a king size, when I checked told me that they would give the 100$ Even though my email that confirmed it said I got that rate

I initially liked the approach when checking in.it was just the only positive thing about two nights at the hotel.two nights badly spent by customers putting on loud music and making noises all night.nobody at the hotel did anything to end this party.it is impossible not to have heard so much noise.high price also for quality and supply.very weak breakfast. I do not recommend.

Very nice hotel. Very clean. Beds are very comfortable. Alittle expensive as i stayed there for 2 weeks during my renovation. No break given.

Love the re-designed new rooms. The bedding is comfortable and very inviting, comparable to many of the 4 star hotels in town. Great service, very clean room, honestly above my expectations!

Monte Carlo always feels like im home, it gives you that homley feeling, beds are comfortable, bathroom fans work well. Complimentary breakfast in the lobby, staff are very friendly. Outside has a huge fountain with sculptures

I was not impressed. I Was blamed for smoking pot in my room and they even told my place of work lol

Rooms were very big and extremely clean. The staff were very pleasant as well. I will definitely stay there again.

Very clean establishment, courtious amd professional staff. Rooms are very clean and spacious. There are it's of usb ports for charging and excellent wifi.

Pretty close to main shops like best buy, beer store dollarama etc. Good parking. The room was not the cleanest, the bathroom tub was a bit dirty. No room service. The restaurant is only open for breakfast which was dissapointing since I wanted dinner and drinks. The service was still good other than that. Not sure I'll go again, but there has been worse at other places. Overall, its an okay place.

Very comfortable stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are beautiful, I really enjoyed the fireplace. Overall a good place to rest for a night. The complimentary breakfast didn't have much variety, ended up ordering breakfast from the restaurant.

The rooms were decent - they weren't anything special but they were somewhere to sleep. The cleaning staff were very kind everyone we walked by.

Ladies u need to bring ur own conditioner and bodywash because shampoo is a 2 in 1 and there is only a bar of soap that leaves a sticky residue!

Good location, small but comfortable room, very good fitness centre and tv. Decent staff but not very engaging or friendly. Utterly sub par complimentary breakfast.

Stayed here in May 2018, only came back (week of Dec 3/18) for convenience as the course I am taking is being held in their conference room. The same elevator is broken again, or maybe still since May, considering the tired condition of the rest of the place. If you are reasonably fit, take the stairs. Stairs are the only way to excercise here because the gym. I am embarrassed for them, why bother? ! Some reviews say this hotel is “CLEAN”? ! Brought my own Lysol wipes and the bathroom counters turned them brown! The desk and faux leather chair turned the Lysol cloth almost black! I feel sorry for anyone that considers this a 3 or higher. If it’s the price point I get it, but for about $20 more per night there are far better places to stay in Vaughan. The bed/mattress is decent. Only my second night, can’t wait to get the week over with and go home.

Manager was rude, belligerent, confrontational, and abrasive. Front desk staff, however, were very patient and generally fantastic.

Our stay at this hotel was nothing but a nightmare. Their incompetence added a lot of stress to the wedding. Check-in was way more difficult than it needs to be. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. They offer a shuttle service for weddings and completely failed to deliver. Left many guest stranded for a ride as many had already had a drink. Said they wouldnt pay for cabs for any one other that the father of one of the brides. Eventually called 2 cabs for 25 people. Which they did not cover. Delayed the wedding by an hour. Managed to get the bus there for pick up but expected full price. Paid for late check out and got locked out of the room. In general staff was clueless, unhelpful, and the hotel was unaccountable for their mistakes.

Great check in, staff was excellent, stayed here a few times and one of the quietest hotels I've ever stayed in.room was a bit musty smell and dated but the price was good and bed was comfy lol

First anniversary getaway for a few days. My husband, and I giving it a 4 stars because the hotel was nice, also the Jacuzzi was excellent. But the washroom had a foul smell. The staffs were not friendly at all. A second visit, I don't think so.

Breakfast in the morning requires a voucher you obtain from front desk. They dont let you take the food up to your room but really decent place where you get the bang for your buck, no swimming pool.

We rented the Person room for an event. The staff was very nice and the hotel common areas very clean. I had lunch at the on site restaurant, the food and service was very good.

Decent hotel. Certainly cheaper than any of its neighbours. Forget the "continental breakfast" though. Just drive down the road to ikea for a great cheap breakfast.

Stayed here for 2 nights, booked through booking.com and paid for the king room suite however was given the smallest & most basic room possible. Definitely not even close to being worth the money I paid. The mattress in our room needed to be changed as one side had a major dip in it. The front desk staff are not friendly or helpful. Only good thing is that Vlad who works in the restaurant is amazing and the hotel is very close to Canada's Wonderland. Do not see myself to be staying at this hotel for next trip to the GTA.
