Went in with my partner to pick out first suit. Sales associate shook my boyfriends hand, asked him what he did for work and what he was looking for. I was standing beside him and he fully ignored me for the first half of the appointment (at least 10 minutes) until he realized I had creative control and last say before purchase, he then started to ask me what i liked and such. While the associate was good at helping boyfriend to pick out a nice suit- I would recommend treating the customers friends, family, or spouses with a bit more respect as you don't know what the circumstances are. Will not be coming back because of this.

Yesterday I went to Moore’s on Carling Ave.to update my wardrobe, but wasn’t looking forward to doing it! Walked in and met Earl Reece, which turned out to be the best shopping experience ever. I highly recommend this gentleman for your purchases.

All the rentals were dirty and wrinkled. They lost one of the groomsmen sizing so he had to drive 1.5 hours back to the location to get sized. Then they tried to tell him he didn't pay. Meanwhile, they made us all pay the rental in full on the original fitting day. Then they told him he couldn't try on the tux because his work clothes were too dirty. (pretty sure you remove you're clothes before trying on tux, no?) Groom agreed with the location that we would drop off the rentals on the Monday since we all lived far. They even wrote on the rentals “ return on Monday”. The they tried to charge us a late fee. When we pushed back, the person serving us became very rude. Not what you expect when paying 300$ for a rental. Terrible experience.

Overall poor. I told the person that greeted me that I needed one blue dress shirt and one white shirt.he passed me off to a younger person who measured me and laid out one blue and one white shirt, no other options offered. Both of these were not in my view “mainstream “, especially the white one. Only when I showed no enthusiasm and asked for more choices did he offer two alternatives.much more”traditional”. I accepted these and looked at a 3rd shirt from the display, for which he offered a style alternative.
I asked about an outerwear jacket and he waved me to a couple of small racks of these.
I got the overall impression that they were doing me a favour to be allowed to spend money in their store. I won’t be back to Moore’s anytime soon.

The absolute worst experience I've ever had. I was part of a wedding party. Had to go back 4 different times. They didn't order the suite after measurements were taken. Do yourself a favor and never order wedding party suits from here.

My husband needed a suit for a wedding in England. The sales associate Chris was A+ in helping us with the suit choice, the fitting and alterations. We went back a week later and the suit was ready as promised and Chris again was fantastic to deal with. I would absolutely recommend this store. We'll done, Moores!

We went on Saturday to purchase a suite. There was a kid who helping me was so great. Today (Aug 1st, 20222) went to pick up the suit. There were two ladies who showed attitude they don’t want work there and don’t want to help at all. Bought this suit and don’t want package it probably even after I told them I have to take it to oversea. Finally, they got me plastic cover. I would expect a good suit cover and good customer service. At this point, I really wanted to return my suit but made some alterations which means I can’t return. Very disappointed with today’s service.

Always very busy, but the workers are very friendly and helpful. We ordered a custom suit for my fiance, and when we went back in to get it tailored to his body, the same guy was working and recognized us right away! Always nice to be remembered as a returning customer.

Would not recommend. They will not answer phone when called, and i have had to place and order for the 2nd time now because they never ordered it the first time, iv already paid and its been over a month and still no call on my order. If i could give 0 stars i would.

TLDR at bottom. My experience with their wedding suit rentals.

Choosing style: lots of catalogues and employee at this visit was very helpful. Had 2 display suits and styles similar to other available options. Was a good experience.

First suit fitting: I was a party of 7 getting suit rentals for a wedding. The 3 out of towners had no issues. The 4 that were in town went to this location. We booked an appointment for the 4 as recommended to reserve a spot to help manage the workflow for the store. Despite this, the fitting was chaotic. We had one likely novice employee try to help all 4 of us, but he became swamped as 3 other customers came in and he also tried to help them concurrently. A second employee jumped in upon noticing the disorganization. We had little faith in the measurements done by the first employee, I even mentioned I felt the suit he had me try was big. The second employee remeasured only two of us for some reason. One of us didn’t even get a shirt to try on. Eventually when paying at the cash, 2 of the 3 employees weren’t even aware of the ‘rent 6 get 1 free’ deal they were advertising at the time. First telling me it was “rent 7 get 1” then walking back their statement after we showed them the moores website.

Second suit fitting: due to the lack of faith in the first suit fitting, I called the store and asked if we could get refit. They obliged, said come in any time and were accommodating. 3 of the 4 got remeasured. 1 had no change. 1 was given a different shirt and jacket size. I was told my measurements were accurate.

Suit pickup: We were told the suits would come in early so we could try them and have time to make adjustments. My suit came in 5 days before the wedding, but that maybe a covid cause and I don’t blame them there. 1 had long sleeves in his jacket by maybe a 0.5in, but the other 5 suits fit proper. However, I had a grossly oversized suit in jacket, pant, shirt and vest all too large. Even the jacket sleeve length was long by almost an inch (almost to thumb) so it was not just a simple size difference. I explained the situation to the employee present, who was experienced, and she felt it was because I was ‘inbetween sizes and could either go baggy or tighter fit, and unfortunately the original measurer did not explain that to me” and the second measurer did not revisit that either. I am not sure who would opt for a baggier fit….

Suit reorder: the suit came in 5 days prior to wedding. I was able to visit 4 days prior to wedding. As above, I did not like the fit at all (looked childish). They put in an expedited order and informed me it would be an 80% chance it would arrive. My remeasured suit arrived day before the wedding and fit properly. I will give them two stars for their ability to scramble and recover here although I’m sure others may not have such a positive ending.

Suit return: seamless process. However, the deal of “ 6 rentals get 1” is actually implemented on return. Despite my previous discussion there was no mention on my file. The employee tried to return my suit without acknowledging the deal and I again had to revisit the site and explain the situation.

TLDR
Had likely a novice employee do my groups measurements, and the more experienced employee could not salvage it. The remeasure by a top-level employee was not adequate either. The suit fit terrible but they were able to get a reorder in within 2 days to save wedding.
If you are getting measured, don’t be afraid to get remeasured. Also make sure you discuss tighter vs baggier fit explicitly with the employee I guess. Be knowledgeable of the deals as the staff are not.

Visited the Carling location on Sat Dec 18/21, and can emphatically state they hit the nail on the head! (I'm a carpenter, so that's a compliment) )

I had called earlier in the day to talk about what I was looking for, as I don't live in the city and wanted to be sure they had stock before driving the hour to get there. I was greeted on the phone by Senah, who was very helpful and assured me they had what I was looking for.

Upon arrival I was greeted in under 30 seconds by an employee, I had explained I called earlier, which in turn, was then introduced to Senah. It was a great experience, complete individualized and focused service by her. So well done in fact, I walked out with an extra shirt and a couple ties that I hadn't planned on getting when walking in the door. Which wasn't due to pressure sales, but the fact I realized I was taken care of so well I might as well spend the extra time with her and her expertise while I can.

This is what brick and mortar stores need to be all about, service, service, service.it will keep me coming back. It's so easy to just shop online instead, avoid the driving, the parking, avoid the people.but with attention to good customer service will keep these businesses prosperous.

I had the exact opposite experience at Tip Top tailors Kanata just the day before, 2 employees working, one of which was running out the door, and the other had his face buried in his phone. In the 20 minutes I was in there (the only customer in the store), the single communication I received was to inform me I was in the wrong section (Big and Tall). That's it. No service, no sale, no ever setting foot in there again.

So three cheers for Moores Carling, to employee Senah, and to the other 4 or 5 staff on the floor making it all work. Good job!

Very pushy. Pressure sales. Wanted the product on sale, refused to show it to us, only would show us more expensive product. 75% offer was limited to 5 old dirty shirts on a rack. Very misleading sales pitch. Buyer Beware.

I never walk out of a Moore's disappointed. The gentlemen and ladies who work here are fine individuals, who are respectful, funny, and quick. I had some trouble with recalling my ID for a rental, and they still found it easily.

Really great place, I look forward to stopping by again.

Worst shopping experience I have had. A lot to get into and more than anyone would care to read but long story short, it takes forever to get served here, when I was served mistakes were made, I got accused of getting fat because of their fitting mistakes, got fitted for the wrong outfit, was over charged for the outfit then given attitude about it, the staff here are clearly being paid commission and seem more interested in hitting their own personal budgets than creating a good environment, there's more but I'll leave it at this. Terrible and disappointing

This was THE worst retail experience I have ever had hands down. My brother was getting married and had ordered suits for all the groomsmen. The first time I went in, the associate helping me was so distracted and jumping from customer to customer. I understand retail environment however I felt like she had ZERO attention to detail. I had then received a call a week or so later saying my suit was ready for pickup. When I came in the next day the associate told me it wasn't ready yet, and doesn't know why the other person called me. I came back a THIRD time and got the pants, however they were missing the jacket. So a different associate told me they would go pick it up. The fourth time I came back they finally had it all.
Fast forward 2 weeks later for the wedding, I arrive to the hotel the morning of the ceremony to get ready with my brother and they had SOLD ME THE WRONG SUIT. I had to drive halfway across town and purchased a last minute matching suit and drive all the way back to the ceremony.
Upon speaking with head office, all I was offered in compensation was a $50 gift card for Moore's or a percentage off of accessories. Nearly ruined my brother's wedding. I will NEVER use this business again and I recommend you think twice before using them for anything.

Excellent customer service. The team there is exceptional.
Great advice given for a suit that was purchased.
This included fabric choices and reasoning per the selections chosen for my son. Pants and jackets can be purchased independent of one another.
Quick tailoring turnaround time.
The final product was very well tailored considering the major alterations that were required due to his stature.
Will definitely refer and return. Thank you!

The staff are extremely nice and helpful, however the bowtie we rented was dirty and slightly frayed at one corner. Pretty disappointed as it was for our wedding. Then when we tried to return it there was a lineup a mile long and over a 30+ min wait to get in. Not ideal just to do a return of a bowtie and we had to drive family to the airport and leave to our appointment. Plus the bestmans suit didn't fit properly and the shoes were missing.

My brother had an account set up and suit colours picked out for his wedding, as myself and two other brothers were his groomsmen. When I went in to get fitted for mine, there were limited sizes for the colour of suits I was told were the ones he picked. I had to resort in a jacket that was a bit too tight around the shoulders and a bit too short. When I showed up for my brother's wedding I was told that it was the wrong colour. Long story short, I had to purchase ($200) a suit that 1.) The jacket didn't fit properly, and 2.) Was completely the wrong colour.

Getting the suits for our wedding from Moore's has been very challenging on multiple occasions. No one picks up the phone and there is no voicemail. They cannot find the ties we pre-paid for and waited to come in. When I needed to pick up the groom's suit a month into a lockdown no one would pick up the phone and any time I called support they would just transfer me to the unstaffed store. I very much regret choosing Moore's.

This store might have the best salesman not only in Ottawa but perhaps all of Ontario or even Canada. Nelson was the kindest, most accommodating representative I have ever dealt with. Please ask for Nelson next time you are looking for formal wear. He will not disappoint.

I went to Moore's and Teddy, the store manager, helped me pick out some made to measure suits. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, and provides great customer service. I had some other MTM suits from a fashion forward tailor, which were too small. He helped pick out some stylish and more comfortable suits

GO TO THIS LOCATION! Ask for Sal or Teddy. I guarantee they'll take good care of you. Had an issue with my coupons and Sal went to great lengths to make it right. He got on the phone with customer service right away and had the issue resolved in minutes. Can't say enough about these guys. Came back tonight with a buddy to get him a few things and Teddy was here again and was just as helpful as last time. Great atmosphere and genuine customer appreciation.

Staff was incredibly helpful when I called about a short notice issue. One of the staff members at this location picked up an item at another Moores location on my behalf. Going the extra mile was unexpected and very appreciated.

Store is currently going through a relocation sale as I understand they are tearing down the building it is located in sometime in the fall of 2019. When I attended the store it looked abandoned as there were no cars in the parking lot.

Found out it was still operating and went inside. I could speak about the size and layout of the store but since it is closing in the near future it is probably little use to future shoppers.

Very fortunate to have a young lady wait on me during the visit. She was very attentive and patient as I picked out the items I needed. She answered many questions and gave me many ideas to assist in my suit. Based on the service and the attention I received from the young lady I would definitely attend in the future.

This Is Marys husband writing this review. I was at Moores at Carlingwood looking for new clothes for my niece's wedding. I was there for almost 20 minutes and with 3 sales clerks free, no one asked if I wanted help. One even walked right by me and said nothing. They have lost my business. It's clear they didn't want it in the first place.

Went to buy 2 pair of pants the one I tried is hemmed same price same fir when I went home all my thinking is the pants are hemmed it t cause inconvenience and pressure on my scheduled appointments

Fantastic service from the gentleman that assisted us (Mike). I couldn't be happier with our experience. I'm beyond satisfied with his patients and expertise. I will definitely return to this location and have him dress my partner again!
