This run down coffee shop probably has the highest prices in the city. The pompous barista there (who once claimed to be the owner?) thinks charging over $7 dollars for a small coffee and a muffin makes sense because of "inflation. " Go elsewhere.

Would give zero stars if possible! Not sure how you can deny a bathroom to a paying customer where food and drink are sold with seating interesting.

My girlfriend and I visited this location today after an extensive power walk in the city. We were looking forward to relaxing out of the rain for a cup of tea. I paid over $7 for a tiny cup of tea (including a tip). Once relaxed, we each needed the bathroom before venturing on. I proceeded to use the washroom, only to be scolded on my way out. I was told “this was not a public washroom”. This seemed foreign to me, and I felt embarrassed. I have since looked into this, and this is a violation.

Other customers entered as the establishment grew busy and were told the washrooms were “closed”.

When I used the washroom, it was functioning fine. There was no need to turn people away from a perfectly functioning washroom.

I’m left dumbfounded. I will not return or recommend. Prices are outrageous and service including no bathroom access is unacceptable.

I was taking my morning walk and I spotted the coffee shop. It was very friendly looking and modernly fresh. I walked in and was impressed with the live edge decor and the quality if the baked goods in the counter. They are made fresh on site and they ground their own coffee. The barista made me their flat white coffee and a Iced Latte for my partner. I was satisfied but my partner was missing a hint of sweets in his drink as it was bitter to the taste for a latte. I will go back for those croissants:)

Good coffee and excellent service, Tom should get a public service award for his contribution to the civil service.

Kanata morning owl has a beautiful environment, big space and good coffee and food.
