Morning Owl Kanata

Went there for brunch for the first time. First impressions were okay, but then things went downhill when, after waiting for a good half hour, our food was nowhere in sight. I asked on the counter, and our order wasn't placed even after paying upfront. After another fifteen minutes, the food showed up. The girl at the counter who took our order and then came to serve food at the table didn't care. Not even an apology for the mix-up. She just put the food on the table and left. The other lady that I asked about our order came to our table to apologize for the delay. The food and ambiance are good, I wish the service matched that. It was my first time there and perhaps the last.

Busy coffee spot that has it all. Great selection in the pastry case and plenty of options for a complete meal.

Love this spot for business meeting over breakfast, lunch or dinner. Service is generally good, but inconsistent

Loved the atmosphere here. The coffee is bitter and smell burnt for flat white which look likes picco latte, also waitress had a shacking hand look very ugly and can't tell what kind of coffee art is it. The Sandwich and Bagel was good quality but serve lukewarm not my preference.

I used to like it last visit too many flies.brutal service, ordered coffee and waited for a while, one person only serving.

I had a really good experience at Morning Owl Kanata. The food was fresh and of high quality, as was the coffee. The staff was quick and courteous. The reason why I am giving this a 4 star only is because I found it to be overpriced and the avocado on the Avocado Toast meal was not mashed, rather it was a halved avo plopped on the toast.

Staff are friendly. Food is great although a bit pricey. Wheelchair accessible door does not work and when I contacted them to ask them to fix it I never heard back.

I asked for 2 coffees in mugs as we were going to sit at the Cafe. Instead, the server gave them to us in paper cups and mumbled something to the cashier. When I asked why, she said that there was an issue with the dishwasher! However, I noticed that there were at least a dozen clean mugs behind her waiting to be used. Also, everyone sitting at the Cafe (probably 10-12 people) all had real mugs at their tables! This was very disappointing given that my previous visit here was 5 star!

Nice cafe! Delicious food, and great staff. I highly recommend trying their yummy breakfast, brunch, and coffee.

chicken & waffle sandwich was okay, but i wouldn’t order it again.bland and doesn’t have the sweet and salty chicken & waffles taste i expected.it’s more like a classic chicken BLT sandwich that just happens to be made with waffles.should be labeled chicken & waffle BLT sandwich on the menu.salad was a salad, no complaints there.

Breakfast at best, coffee and yes you can add booze to light up your day, friendly server that gladly answer your questions about the menu

I’m really disappointed as I just spend $20 on a breakfast ($40 with my drink and uber eats fees) and the latte, eggs and guacamole are good, but the hashbrown base is about 10 seconds of cooking away from being burnt and it’s barely edible. The serving size is also VERY small for $20. If I was at the restaurant I’d send this back in a heart beat but as it was delivered I am out of money and luck…. I ordered the avocado smash on hash. I hope this is a one off cause it seems like a great restaurant but I definitely won’t be ordering for delivery ever again

So nice to have a "local" coffee shop. Great place to stop while on a walk or run or bike. Service is always friendly and the baked goods always tasty.

Great little spot for coffee, snacks, and brunch. They also have a liquor license. I plan on riding my bike there for some beers soon.

I have been trying to grab a coffee and a snack from this location as often as possible during the lockdown to do my small part to support them, and while service is always fast and friendly, I do find lately that the quality isn't what it used to be. Desserts are stale or coffee is lukewarm. Likely it's because I'm visiting at the end of the day (1-2pm), but still that shouldn't matter. Quality control is just as important at the end of the day.

If you're looking for a trendy coffee house with great eats - you've come to the right place. This coffee shop boasts large windows allowing for sunlight to come in which is so beautiful. Not only can you capture cute instagrammable photos but they have an extensive beverages and food menu. The chai latte is a must try - not too sweet and just enough spice. The avocado smash on hash is quickly becoming my favorite breakfast item (and it's GF!). And what makes a good cafe even better? Great customer service - the baristas are super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend if you haven't already been there!

Warm and cozy atmosphere - kind and attentive staff - fresh and delicious food. Love coming here for breakfast or even just coffee.

I love this place! It's a great go-to when you're looking to catch up with friends or even just reading or studying. Not to mention the amazingly warm and friendly staff and the incredible food and drinks. The pasta (pictured) is my favourite! It's seriously to die for!

Love this place! Chicken pasta is so good and the chicken waffle sandwich is phenomenal. I could eat it every day! Also, I literally get a side of hollandaise for any meal, very well done. Great coffee and service too?

Wonderful Atmosphere! One of my favourite places to eat! Very friendly staff! Food is really great! Their chicken waffle sandwich and their pasta are amazing!

Second time being here, and this place never disappoints! Great food, great company, and even better coffee ️ Their avocado toast is absolutely delicious, and if you’ve got a sweet tooth their Rose Waffles are to die for!

Very Large, bright and lovely decorated Cafe. Our brunch visit was a safe and friendly experience with all covid protocols in place. Sandwich and brunch benny were exceptional. Will visit again to try the bar experience as well. Highly recommended.

Great breakfast. Ordered the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, home fries, and the grilled mac cheese sandwich. They were all great, the grilled mac cheese sandwich was a bit bland, but fixable with a bit of salt on it. Overall, fast delivery and good tasting food! Keep it up guys.

My boyfriend and I have been making an effort to support local restaurants which is how we came across Morning Owl. We would highly recommend this place for breakfast.

I got the eggs Benedict with salmon. The salmon was fresh tasting and melt in your melt. The Hollandaise sauce was on point as well. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffle sandwich and the chicken was really well cooked, crispy and tasty. They gave a solid amount of potatos on the side which were also well cooked.

The food wasn’t ready when we arrived so we were offered a free coffee - their brewed coffee is amazing! It is roasted in Ottawa which is also a bonus.

All in all great food and service for the price. Definitely a hidden gem in Kanata.
