Mortgage Teacher has helped us through the purchase of two houses and renewals. I cannot recommend them enough. Everyone is organized and you feel involved in the process with your input mattering. Micheal provides assistance with mortgage but also money managing which was extremely helpful when we were young and first starting out and we have continued those practices to today. I have a mixed experience with Mortgage Teacher in Dorchester. We had a great experience with Michael when buying our first house, and decided to go with Mortgage Teacher again when purchasing our second home.

We had 7 days to secure financing, and they were polite and professional near the beginning of the week, but things turned sour near the end of the week. We were told mid-way that they could not secure financing to port our mortgage with our current mortgage holder, but that they were still waiting to hear back from other lenders. On the final day of our financing conditions, they did not respond to my calls or emails at all. Thankfully we got an extension with the sellers though. From there, we reached out to several banks directly, received multiple approvals, and actually ended up porting our mortgage with our existing bank, despite being told by Mortgage Teacher that our bank wouldn't port for us. To this day, I'm not sure why things went sour with Mortgage Teacher, as we did our due diligence to get our paperwork in order ahead of time. The most frustrating part was their lack of response on the final day.

Anyway, I hope that this was a fluke experience and truly wish Michael and his team all the best. That said, I have a hard time recommending Mortgage Teacher after our second experience with them.
