Morton's

Not gonna lie the 26oz prime bone in rib eye was alright. The meat by itself was juicy and chewy as expected for a medium rare+. But it was seasoning which wasn't up to my standards. It was a little saltier than expected. Not only mine but my date's one too. As a fine dining restaurant it was hard to believe that they made this mistake. However, overall our dining experience was good because of the service and the atmosphere inside.

Favorite steak in the city. Sit at the bar or stand up tables for quick and personable service

Unbelievably expensive, paid $150.00 per person, 1 drink, some appetizers that we shared and did not have steak. Ridiculous!

I really wanted to rate this a 5 star, I ordered a Prime Cajun Rib Eye, but the Cajun flavored added a bit of a "burnt" flavor to the stake and it didn't taste as good as other times in this restaurant (have been to Morton's in San Francisco twice). Also their fries were bad, honestly.

The ribeye steak and lobster macaroni and cheese were divine. Manager Brady made our experience even better. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a special night.

Went last Friday for a friend’s birthday. Everything was great! Kit our server went above and beyond and was so sweet! I arrived late and my food was re heated once I arrived which I appreciated, I was leaving and forgot my purse and she came out to look for me and give it back.
The food tasted great! I do recommend the pork chop! Thanks for such an experience.

I usually don’t like going to a steakhouse because, to quote a friend from Houston, “I can make it better than you can buy it. ” But Morton’s is that good. Wonderful for special occasions.

We enjoyed Morton’s. We ordered the lobster bisque, side of truffle fries snd the seafood platter. Everything was great. The bread they give you is surprisingly huge lol. Our server Sal, was good and friendly. No complaints at all.

This place is the perfect example of a fine dining experience. The Attention to detail even when it's as simple as the small things. Susan, the waitress is one of the most professional yet personable waitress I have ever experienced in my 20 years of traveling the world. Ryan the assistant GM, delivered world class service, from seating us, to checking on us throughout the night, and also helping me decide on a wine. This place is five star! For food, service, hospitality and ambiance.

The absolute worst establishment you could ever go to in Toronto. Here you will find inept management, incompetent service and an overall lack of common sense. The steak is good the service is terrible.
We came for out for our 15 year anniversary and will not be returning!
Our server D.was rude, snarky and made us feel rushed. She embarrassed my husband and made us feel like we were not spending enough money. We asked for her to take a photo of us and she ignored the request. There was an overall lack of basic manners and hospitality from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We were also put off by her appearance with her wild make-up and outlandish and messy hair not the type of look you want starring at you when spending $$$
The bus boy was very helpful and the gentleman at the bar was polite.

3-4 times a year we are having dinner there. We are never disappointed, Porterhouse is our favorite meal.

Went here with a few friends and the meal was great. The server definitely made us order more than what we needed. We all took food home. Some of us couldn't finish our dinner. Overall a lot of food for a party of 7. Definitely would recommend.

To everyone reading this, I write this while I am still sitting here! First and foremost, the atmosphere is friendly, professional, warm and inviting! Secondly, the service is truly second to none! The waiter truly went above and beyond to meet our needs! The waiter name is Mikeyand he truly went above and beyond! Thirdly, the food? Second to none! High class, well cooked, and it's presentability is second to none! I truly had a great evening! Thanks Mikey and to the entire staff for this first great impression! Steak was great. Sides were fine. Bread/rolls were not fresh. Really? Such a sple thing but can't give them a 5 for food because of it.

The food came with a pretty much larger than we expected for Canada servings.the server was too nice that i can't complain that the food we ordered are too much for 2 pax.the steak was good no need condiments.

What a huge disappointment. While the oysters and lobster bisque were decent, everything else was a huge letdown. The shrimp campi was tasteless and the bone-in ribeye was more of the same. It had little to no sear, tasted like it was poorly pan fried in butter, and it was quite dry. The service was very slow, and they demanded that everything was to be ordered all at once (can't imagine how slow it would have been of we didn't order all at once). While I am very picky about my steak, I expected a lot more from this place. I do not recommend going to this restaurant, and I will never return.

Visited from the US and went to dinner here. It was absolutely amazing. We got the head table, the owner greeted all of the patrons, our waitress was phenomenal, the food superb. The menu is a la carte once you order your steak. They do have mocktails which was a plus for me. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu honestly. There isn't a dress code but everyone knew the vibe coming in. Dressy and classy or dressy casual. Upstairs is a small banquet room for private parties along with the restrooms and the upstairs lobby is a perfect place for photos. Can't wait to come back. Plan on spending. Treat yourself!

I was quite disappointed by the experience. I haven't been to Mortons since pre-pandemic times.it's a nice place and the service was good.
Unfortunately, the steak was disappointing. I was a guest and didn't want to make my host uncomfortable, so I didn't return the steak. I ordered the NY striploin medium rare and it showed up in a pool of its juices, a bad sign, it was medium well and excessively over salted. I also had the Ceasar salad.the lettuce was wilting and the dressing underwhelming. I'll go back another time but certainly disappointing.

Steak was pretty good and good service. The Filet was crispy and burnt on the outside, but tender on the inside. Day-aged Strip was crispy on the outside also, but chewy and rich. The grilled shrimp added was disappointing however, no flavor and tasted old due to over cooked. Iceberg Wedge was okay. French onion soup was so-so. Overall a good place for steak. The dining environment was “squeezing”. The place itself is spacious and become “crowded” due to too many tables. Lastly, it suggests business casual dress code. Didn’t know it before I went there so was a bit embarrassed.

Our waiter gave us the right to choose our soup. The manager then came out, shot the waiter and started to profess his undying love for Brett Kavanaugh in a rousing monologue. When he was finished, he stared at the women at our table for the rest of the night, trying to channel "fertile energy" upon them. For dessert we were served their specialty, coat hanger brulee.

Worse dinning experience ever. From appetizer to main course steak nothing has been right. Steak were over cooked… absolutely terrible dinning experience. Morton’s used to be one of my favourite steak house and now the least….

Food and retro ambiance is nice. Service was seriously lacking and slow. It took 30 minutes to get drinks at the start of the meal. My partners steak was good, but undercooked.closer to rare than medium rare. For the price, it should be spot on. But really, it was the service that let down the experience.

Went here for Valentine's day. Service was okay, they ran out of the classic olive loaf which was a bit disappointing and we had to ask for bread. The food was good, our shrimp Alexander app was probably the best part. I wish they had better chairs or dining set ups for those not in booths.

This was great! Service was excellent and the food was amazing! We shared the porterhouse steak and scallops and shrimp cocktail for appetizers! Chose a great bottle of wine and the evening was perfect!

Terribly slow service. Big group. Rate room dining. Taking forever. My salmon was overcooked beyond belief. Should have had the steak.

This place has a lot going for it. It's fancy. The food is delicious. That's it. The service was straight up square, pretentious and EXTREMELY SLOW.there was no excuse for this as it's was a weekend night and not many patrons in the restaurant. The drink order took long. The delivery of every drinks took long, over 45 mins. The food ordering quick. The food delivery was over an hour after we ordered. The bill. I don't even care that a mandatory gratuity of 18.95% is on our bill. I also don't care that the average bill $150-300 per person. But what really set me off is that we are excited to go on with our night and forced to wait endlessly for no reason. We wait while the staff stand around and stare you down. The staff seemed excited to get our bill promptly when we asked for it. However, we wait for our bill over 45 mins after we ask for it when there are 4 people in the restaurant. Unbelievable. Places like this don't survive forever. Go enjoy the food one last time while you can. Shame.

Edit: 2 years since ive posted this review without any comment from the owner. Makes sense.

The service was simply amazing! Hosted a surprise private dinning experience and the manger and his team went above and beyond to make sure the night was spectacular! The food was impeccable! Thank you so much

Terrible experience!

- 2 drinks were ordered but never delivered
- steak arrived small, late and cold
- lobster arrived small, late and cold
- garlic butter also arrived late and cold
- dessert didn't arrive with everyone else's, told waitress we no longer wanted the dessert after our experience here. Dessert came a while later saying "we stole it from another table, you can choose to eat it or not.

After expresing our concerns, the manager "BRADY" was absolutely useless and said he would take care of things. I was compensated for a beer and the dessert we said we no longer wanted, which was not even close to what I expected for a steak comparable to Montana's.
McDonald's "McLobster" would be a safer bet to anyone reading this.

Had a reservation for a party of 7 last night. The steak was probably the best I’ve ever had! Our server was very good and precise. Such an upscale place with great service.

Steak was perfect. Caesar Sals was ok. Service was perfection. Shrimp cocktail was ridiculously fresh. Side Poivre sauce was deeply disappointing.
I would return. This was my first experience at a Morton's.

I love Mortons. I always have. The classic interior always feels comfortable but still upscale. The white table cloths, the divine service, the robust wines. I can go on and on. Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgable. I have a beautiful Strip loin and it was cooked to perfection.

Been here a handful of times and had a good experience each time. The service is good, and the salads are good. Steak was good however nothing extraordinary and nothing that stands out. Being an upscale steakhouse you would expect for they steak to differ in quality, or taste. However it was nothing unusual and nothing that ever stood out to me.

My favourite steak house in Toronto. Excellent service and food quality. Very consistent. Nice bar area if you want to watch a game

Fantastic cut of steak, wonderful sides and appetizers. I found the meat a little bit salty, but overall, great dinner and experience!

Delicious food. I got the Cajun steak and my wife got the fillet and we were both thrilled with them. They were cooked to perfection and the sides were very generous portions.

I often come to this place with a friend or even friends and Morton's for me is the best so far steak house I ever been in, they are very consisted with everything on there menu and there meat is just out of this world and trust me I've been in a lot of upscale restaurants in Toronto and Morton's is by far way better then all of them and there service is excellent and same on there valet service and the price for valet is very cheap for downtown. Overall I would love to give this place a 6 star because they truly deserve it.

Absolutely amazing steak! A huge variety of cuts and sizes. Caesar salad superbly done. The wine list is literally a book.the selection is vast, heavy on California wines. If you manage to save some room, the desserts are excellent as well. The carrot cake is possibly the best store bought carrot cake I've ever had. Also, if you want the chocolate lava cake and a couple of other desserts remember to order these when you place your meal order as they need extra time to be prepared by the chef. Very knowledgeable staff, and a sommelier available to help you choose your wine. Steep corkage charge should you wish to bring your own wine but if it is truly a special bottle it may be worth the $55 charge.

Rib steak bone-in was tough and a cheap grade. Felt like they bought it from a Chinese market. The rest of the food was good and so were the drinks, but if they cant make a good steak why bother

Great friendly service. The miso seabass was so flavorful -culinary perfection. The dessert was such a treat. Particularly their carrot cake. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Travelled from Barrie, Ontario to what once was my favourite steakhouse, Morton's last night. The service in terms of our server was great and she was awesome. The food however for me was extremely disappointing. I ordered a medium rare bone in rib-eye along with my friend. Both were supposed to be medium rare. His came out fine, but mine came out medium which was disappointing for me bc I find medium to be a tad overcooked and dry. For it being a $75 dollar steak, and the calibur of the restaurant I had to send it back. After watching my friends finish their meal I got a blue-rare steak brought out to me which was not medium rare or rare at all. I chose to eat the steak bc it had already been about an hour since we ordered, maybe longer and was charged full price for a meal which I ate alone and wasnt enjoyable or cooked the way I asked. I don't know what's going on with this place but the quality of the food has declined over the last 2 years. This is coming from someone that has to eaten here since the days where they brought the tray of meat to your table and you got to choose your cut. I don't know if I'm willing to choose Morton's over Jacobs, or Michael's again. The keg even gets steak right and I'm sure their chefs arent as experienced as someone who works in a kitchen like Morton's.

Great customer service. Porterhouse steak always flavourful and cooked to perfection. Creme brulee cheesecake is everything!

The portions are massive, had enough food for two days worth of meals. The staff are tentative. Worth every penny.only issue is parking in the area is complicated, so I recommend using their valet parking option.

We do all of our birthdays here. Try the porterhouse for two. It is bigger and priced better than other upscale steak houses. Great professioanl knowledgable staff.

This place is not cheap. However, if you want to experience an upscale steakhouse with an old world dark old boys club feel then this is the place. The meat is to notch and cooked just as you request. Side dishes are extra. The staff are professional and friendly. Parking is an issue in this part of town and so as to be expected from a restaurant in this price range, they have valet parking. Its not a place I would go to regularly but for a special occasion and experience its a good option. There are other restaurants in the Yorkville area that offer very good meat at a lower price point so if you are a visitor and have a few nights, explore! If you live in Toronto, its worth a try for that special occasion. Who knows, if price is not an issue you could become a regular.

The food tastes great! Love their bread, the service is really good. The presentation of the food is very nice too. Prices are on the expensive side.

I ordered Lamb shanks and husband got the Wagyu.

- tender, aromatic
- game - just enough and not too much
- comes with a side green jelly sauce (i thought this was a bit weird but it worked). Inventive. It's clever that they made this jelly-like. It sits well on the cut of meat and melts into your mouth. Combination of sweet and savory.

Wagyu
- Is it butter? Is it meat? I don't know. Not to say that it tastes like butter but it glides and melts like one.
Why become a vegetarian?

The dimmed lighting creates a good atmosphere. There is a bar area to watch any sports games you are interested in. Very expansive but I may be bias we ordered two bottles of wine. The staff is very professional including the hostesses. My steak was cooked perfectly and we got a few sides for the whole table. It is also close to Yorkville for a nice strole after eating too much.

Dessert: cheesecake is delicious.

I was taken here for my 40th Bday. Wow what an experience. We had the private dining room upstairs. The staff were super amazing and helpful and catered to all of our needs. The drinks were great, the food even better! The steaks and the seafood were top shelf. Mine was cooked beautifully, and I'm pretty picky with my steak. The wine list was quite incredible too. We had a nice Amarone with our steaks. The best of all was probably the Prime Ocean Platters. I had the baked one, which was incredible, but I do really wish I had the cold one as it looked even better!

I cannot wait to go back!

This is definitely one of the better steakhouses I have been to. The food was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t get enough of the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella. It was the perfect shareable for two people. I also got the rib-eye with a side of their blue cheese butter and it was mouth watering. The side order of truffle fries was delicious as well. I finally ended the night with their molten lava cake and I couldn’t have asked for a better dessert. It was paired with some ice cream and the flavours balanced each other so well. I went here for a fancy date with my fiancé and the staff were so friendly and provided bread for the table and excellent service. They also do personalized menus if you are celebrating something. I will definitely be coming back.

Disappointing.

Overall, the service is great.

The food is underwhelming and overpriced.

There were a lot of missed opportunities here. We had Onion Soup, which was honestly really great.
We also had the scallops wrapped in bacon. These were lacking. The bacon and scallops were dry. The bacon wasn’t under cooked but definitely under done. Light pink bits and white fat. It came with some kind of jam but tasted slightly soap-like. Not good pairing of flavors.

We then had the filet mignon (8oz) - great quality meat, but nothing notable about the flavor. The cognac pepper sauce was good.
The braised short rib was a stroganoff style, with tagliatelle. Very under seasoned. The beef tasted of nothing much. The pasta was extremely oily. Also without seasoning.
We ordered the Brussels sprouts and bacon, which I sent back because I thought it smelled funny. Again, the bacon was under done, pink and white, and the Brussel sprouts looked boiled. Not what you expect from 2018 Brussel sprouts. We also ordered the gratin potatoes, which I soon realized was what I was smelling. They smelled like dirty feet. Also under seasoned. We didn’t eat much of them.
The waiter brought us a complimentary dessert: Molten lava chocolate cake, which was what you would expect, and as good as all the other molten lava cakes you have had at every other restaurant. Nothing spectacular.

Go to Barberian’s if you want a better culinary experience.

Never fails in the perfect steak, the service is always on point and the 1942 Don Julio.superb. The copious amount of frites made as crispy and can be will be my guilty pleasure. Liam at the bar is hilarious and made our visit that much more fun!

Excellent steak, excellent customer service and surprisingly reasonable price. I would definitely recommend.

Chic and richly charismatic environment that maintains the fundamentals of what makes the steakhouse dining experience one that can't be beat. Would like to give a special thanks to, Buhran, our server (I do hope I've remembered the spelling of the name correctly). He was ever accommodating and intuitive, and made no short of certain that my date and I had an impromptu first visit to Morton's that surely won't be forgotten.

I have never had a steak this good - wen there for my 35th birthday - will be going back for sure. Nice quiet dining experience when I went. You will love it.

Overpriced, lobster bisque was so disappointing, and that was before I saw the $18 charge. Why these places continue to attract such large crowd is beyond me. Grilled veggies, mashed potatoes and Ceasar salads are not haute cuisine! And if you know a good butcher, a steak is a pretty straightforward meal to master. Well, the Rolls Royce just outside the door when we pulled up in our minivan taxi did add to the experience.
