Definitely a good place to go for some awesome wings and cold beers Alot of their food is good too, pub wings though Service is ok, can get busy at times, but haven't waited long for another beer.
Was at Morty's for the first time on Wednesday for dinner with a friend. Server was attentive, friendly, service was fantastic. The food and portions were well worth the price. Will definitely be back.
As someone who thoroughly enjoys wings, I discovered Morty's through my colleagues. Intrigued, I decided to pay a visit and it surpassed all my expectations when it comes to satisfying my craving for wings. The quality of wings served at Morty's is exceptional; in fact, I have never encountered wings of such impressive size, tenderness, and deliciousness before. The flavors infused into their wings are truly remarkable. It was, without a doubt, the best wings experience I've ever had. Additionally, the staff at Morty's were incredibly helpful. On Thursday nights, they offer a wings special where you can get 10 wings for $13.99. I simply adored this place and highly recommend it to others. I can't wait to return for another visit.
Always amazing drinks at Mortys and the food is pretty good, love the bartender she is always super friendly and I love chatting with her and she always makes my drinks incredibly delicious. Highly recommend this place, especially if your a sports fan as it's usually packed for sports events.
Went to Morty's after a very long time. Me and my husband always come here when we are visiting out of town. This was one of his favourite places too since he was in university. He talked very highly of this restaurant and i have enjoyed it just as much as him. We always order buttery hot wings.and they are the best wings ever. The last time we visited we seriously contemplated to ever come back. Don't get me wrong the service was amazing, but the food was disgusting. They gave us refried wings because the outside was burning hot, but the inside was completely cold. This was very disappointing and for the price we paid it left a sour taste in our mouth. Is it worth coming out of your when visiting i do not think so because the food lacks in quality now
Came into this location for wings! I asked for a booth, I even suggested I wait however long is needed for one. The waitress asked her "boss" and we were told that they "cannot do that. "
The kind waitress ended up just being straight up and telling us that she is not aloud to seat 2 people at a booth because they are trying to fit as much people in here as they can.so we would have to make due with the tiny table with 2 chairs in the bar area.
I was really planning on not feeling cramped up in the loud bar area when I prefer to just sit and relax while I eat so we left and went to wild wings!
Money must of been very tight all these months and now they are trying there best to fit everyone in that little pub very ridiculous!
Went there to meet up with some friends for lunch. Ordered a pizza to share as I was told they're famous for their pizzas. I wasn't impressed. Service was good and company was good.
Wings and service were good. Not handicap friendly. Also the amount of questions you have to answer is ridiculous. Your medical information is your information. Work on making bathroom acceable.
Jay and the group are Morty’s were amazing when our U16 Waterloo Wolves joined the for a tournament team meal. Thanks guys. Wings are the best in KW area
Unfortunately Morty's hasn't adjusted well to the new world. Their curbside pickup service is terrible. Wings are ok, but not worthy of the praise they receive. Maybe I've just grown out of what Morty's has to offer.
This place has gone downhill, it used to be my favourite place to go for a salad, pint and wings, sports and conversation. Recently my family of 6 went for dinner there. One of the children accidentally spilled a full plastic cup of water on the table and onto floor. Our waitress saw it and left it there for the duration of the meal, we had to move over to seats beside us. Then they forgot to bring us any utensils to the table, we sat there for a while, then finally my partner got up and asked the manager for some utensils. Thirdly, they then forgot to bring veggies and dip with wings, we had ask again. Fourth point, we asked for the same Fried Capers we've had there on salad for years. After the salad was served (with no utensils) she mentioned "Oh that is no longer on the menu" when literally last week we had it there, and specifically mentioned it while ordering. 5th point, They now serve $10-$12 beers in plastic cups, which reminds me of a university kegger where the same amount of money would buy me 20 beers. Its kindof sad in there these days, covid is the excuse I'm sure. 6th point, the waitress that went on her break 3 years ago while serving us mid meal, is now the manager. Yaaaaayyyyyy. Wont be going back. You should not either.
We've been going to Morty's for 15+ years and have never been disappointed! Took the kids for the first time tonight and they absolutely loved it. Wings all the way:)
Super shady, smells like rotten eggs and urine, dark, grimy and dirty. The cheap cheap drinks are watered down of course but this is what most people come for. So the clientele will be the type that doesnt mind the smell of urine and rotten eggs in order to save a couple dollars on a beverage. Enjoy
Bought a peach pitcher of sangria, spin dip, chicken chunks. Sangria was 70% ice and $22 dollars. The drink was weak and definitely not worth the price. Price was steep considering Kentucky’s sangria is $20 and much better. Spin dip was good, fair price.ordered the chicken tenders, didn’t tell me they would be tossed in sauce and was off putting. Good chicken and batter, the price is ok. One redeeming quality is the music. Would not go again.
The servers need a big high-five! They are super kind and informative when it comes to recommending menus (if you have a hard time choosing what to eat). Overall very satisfied!
Okay so I was at Morty’s today for the most exciting of euro 2020. Belgium vs Portugal! The whole point of going to Morty’s was to watch the game and have a good time! But I guess Mortys is the worst place to even think off to go to because of many reasons. I’m sure the people who have gone there for the euro games have had much worse experiences and rude behaviors. The servers were extremely nice so the star is for them. When I reached Morty’s the place inside the shed was playing baseball on the both the televisions and I was told by the attendee that she was not going allowed to (or won’t) change it and forced me to sit on other side under the hot sun only to watch the game on a television that was on the wall. The view was instantly blocked for me as the person who was in the front opened their umbrella, which was not the problem. I then saw that they started playing the game on one of the television that had baseball going on, under the shed. I made a simple request too move places so I could watch the game (which was the whole point of visiting that god forsaken place) but the attendee rejected it as if I was done a favor on by being let into the patio in the first place. Funny how stupid it sounds right! That’s how they work. I also understand it’s covid but you let people walk around with masks but don’t allow them to switch places is beyond frustrating. I know that they have ruined the game experience and the entire day for me and I’m never ever setting foot in that place again, but the sad part is they absolutely don’t give a sh** as there have been multiple reviews about bad behavior and rude service. I learned my lesson by not reading the reviews about the service at this place BUT I HOPE SOMEONE READS THIS AND DECIDES TO GO SOMEHWERE ELSE WHICH WILL BE MORE CONSIDERATE TOWARDS THEIR GUESTS. All I am saying is one bad egg spoils the entire lot. ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!
By far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant, definitely don't go for Euro Cup games.
1) We requested a table that had an unobstructed view of the game and were told we couldn't. We were moved to the table later after someone behind us in line turned it down, they were regulars to the games so apparently that gave them the right to get the table over us even though we were there earlier?
2) 5 minutes into the game we hear cheering from a table across the patio and we see that the TV we're watching is about 8 minutes behind the other TV, which ruined the first goal.
3) Because of this, we explain to our server what's happening and ask her to move to another table. She sighs, shakes her head, and says "Fine". Incredibly rude.
4) She then proceeds to ignore our table for the next 20 minutes serving other tables multiple times instead, so just to order some food we have to ask the guy who's at the door to call our server. Apparently that doesn't work so he has to take our order. Nothing against him, he was a nice guy.
I understand that due to COVID restrictions things are stressful and not ideal but there were several failures here which I've never had going to Mortys before.
Either way they've lost our business permanently and I'm going to be recommending as many people as I can to avoid the establishment moving forward if they're hoping for a basic level of decency.
Food was good as always, so I guess the star can go to that.
Sorry to learn about the flood (and fire). No mention on the actual website and no message on the phone, so no way for customers to know if they're not looking at FB. Looking forward to our wings tomorrow.
My friends, family and I have been longtime patrons of Morty's Pub - at least 15 years! When we arrive, it almost feels like we've stepped onto the set of Cheers! It's an evening we always look forward to and actually count-down the hours for! It's our go-to place where we're treated like fam (or better!). Soupy, Jay and the rest of the beautiful staff are welcoming without fail, they're pleasantly attentive and make us feel like we just showed up at our best friend's house for dinner! The environment is fun and energetic, and our dining experiences are filled with lots and lots of laughs as well as meaningful conversations - it's where we set our worries aside and thoroughly enjoy ourselves!
Disclaimer: Morty's wings are addicting! They're BIIIG and juicy and seasoned to perfection EVERY TIME! I'm salivating as I write this!
The new covered patio is a great addition and we were elated when we found out we could finally return to our favourite watering hole when COVID restrictions loosened up in late fall.
I highly recommend Morty's Pub for the world's best wings.and for the perfect place to hang your hat and kick back for some amazing feel good times!
I was going to say it was pricy, but look at that burger. 21$ but it was enormous. I'm very very full. Had to be at least 8$ worth of ground beef in it. Fries were also good. Will be back. They served a large crowd in less than an hour. That's impressive
I came here for my birthday celebration, despite being sober the manager was very rude to me and a few members of my group as we entered the restaurant. He falsely accusing a number of us of being drunk despite sobriety and insisted that one of our friends leave for about 3-4 mins after joking about being underage after his ID was checked. After he realized he crossed the line he let up with no apology and got us a table. I wish that this instance was the only thing that ruined the experience. We were seated in the basement with the temperature so cold a few members required coats due to how frigid it was. The atmosphere down there was poor. I had observed a few places on the main floor (which would have avoided these issues) that were available. One of us ordered chicken fingers and approximately an hour later when the food arrived she was informed that they did not have any, at which point it was too late to order anything else. I thought it was common curtesy to inform the customer when it came to the staffs attention. The food was subpar but not bad On a second encounter of the manager I yet again received a rude response however it was slightly more subdued. The one thing that made the experience bearable was the exceptional service the waiter provided. I feel bad for anyone that has to deal with that kind of management. The experience ruined my Birthday and the remainder of the night. It was one of the few opportunities I get to spend quality time with my friends.
Edit: the owner has reached out to me to make amends for the mistakes of this manager. I highly respect this commitment to quality and service.
The pub offers various offers on weekdays and weekends. It's an Irish pub and is a nice place to hangout to watch a game. Gather Ur friends and grab a beer and enjoy their wings!
We had a great time here, the only reason I took a star off is because the wings were not that great. The sauce was very watery and they weren't cooked that well. I had to leave them. The staff is fantastic though so I will definitely give them another chance!
As many other reviews say, great food and service at this Waterloo mainstay. Very kid friendly place! Free parking and additional parking across the street at the Chinese store if needed. Heads up: The pub isn't accessibility-friendly for anyone with mobility issues. The bathrooms are down a set of stairs and none of the doors are automatic.
Have to say, very disappointed. The wings were fantastic as usual but I ordered a club sandwich, the toast was hard as a rock, the turkey dry as sand and the Mexican fries were so dry I could barely eat them. Almost as if the plate of food sat under a heat lamp for the 35 it took for the disinterested staff to get around to delivering it. A club sandwich is like a yard stick of a good pub. If you can't get that right.
I’m not big into the “pub experience” but the owners of Morty’s take their business very seriously. The food options on their catering menu are excellent.
Thee best wings in KW and I'll have to also say - best onion rings as well. Great atmosphere and amazing service. I cannot wait for the patio to open- good times
Awful customer service, the bald guy who i.d. 's everyone (this was at about 10: 45 on Friday March 15th) was very disrespectful, when I handed him my I.d. He snatched it out of my hand and gave me a dirty look for no reason what so ever and told me I looked like I was 12 years old, I'm 22 and my piece of i.d. Clearly showed that, this was no mis understanding, he was clearly an angry individual who should not be working any customer service and honestly his attitude is disgusting I will be telling everyone to stay far away from this restaurant until this has been taken care of.
Absolutely terrible.management. The female manager is God aweful. No clue what she's doing and very rude. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Much better venues in the area.
Wings were kind of bland. For a place who say they're famous for their wings, I was not impressed. Prices are ridiculous. Had to wait 10 minutes for the debit machine. What's the point of bringing the bill without the machine? Who uses cash anymore?
Went here to get a single drink at midnight when I turned 19. I was turned away because apparently the fact that it was past midnight didn't matter. I just went elsewhere.
Nice looking establishment with a really amazing menu. Pub food at its absolute finest. Reputedly the best wings in the region, and I can see why. The burger is off the charts, I can't stress that enough. Food is a decent price, dinner was well worth it. Will be visiting again in the near future. Lots more to try on the menu.
Morty's is always amazing! Big and spacious tons of TVs usually playing whatever big games are on. In summer the Patio is one of the best in the University/King area. Food is always top notch and there is no compromise on portion or quality, and prices are really reasonable. Their Tex-mex or All-Dressed fries and their massive Burger are must tries. Good selection of beers on tap (wish they had Guiness though). If you play PoGo, the Pub itself is a Stop!
One tip: BRING YOUR ID. You could walk in looking like Michael Caine and still get ID'd- part of being in the universities area.
Seated at a dirty table on a friday night, nbd. Provided with two different menus, neither of which listed beer selection and/or prices - should have been my first clue that I was about to pay $25 for a pitcher of Heineken that won't even fill 3 glasses. Fries were fresh and tasty, buddy's wings looked great but I'll never go back to try them for myself. Recommended if you enjoy spending outrageous amounts of money in a completely ordinary bar.
