I had a Hypec surgery last April with Dr. Govindarajan. The surgery went flawlessly and my healing was quick. The nurses and staff were excellent. Pam Fraser

I ended up in Emergency last Friday. Over the years, I've had my share of dealings with medical personnel. At Mt Sinai the other night, every single person I dealt with was calm, friendly, attentive, professional, and extremely proficient in their field. I saw several different doctors and specialists, RNs, and an imaging technician. I'm not just saying that no one was a terrible jerk - if that's the bar, everyone I encountered operated far, far above that. They were kind, engaged, unharried, and truly seemed to be happy doing what they were doing.

Had an appointment for 9 a.m. At Mount Sinai for a high risk pregnancy consult. We were unable to have the ultrasound done until 10: 30 a.m. And then were told that I had to get blood work and to come back in an hour or two for the results. Another nurse told us to come back after an hour, yet my partner and I are currently still waiting on our results over 4 hours now. We were told at the time that the appointment was made that we would only be here for the one appointment this morning, as it was just a consult, so we only booked one night at a hotel.
We have 3 children at home and work full-time, and live 4 hours out of town. If Mount Sinai is going to book patients, especially those who are out of town, they shouldn't just have one on-call doctor available. We have been stuck in an uncomfortable waiting room for the entire day and are not allowed to eat or drink in the room, and will now have to drive home late in the dark. This hospital is extremely unprofessional and needs to have more staff if they're going to book people appointments from out of town.
The ONLY thing that was good out of the entire thing is the doctor who was assigned to us, Dr. Kingdom. He was absolutely amazing with us and was the only thing that made going to Mount Sinai bearable.

I went to the emergency last night after work about my stiff neck. The nurse that checked me in just laughed at me about me finding a doctor to “crack my neck. ” She made me feel really uncomfortable that I had to leave this bad review and leave the hospital as well. First time I’ve ever experienced that in my life. Lack of empathy. I kept asking her is their any way a doctor can relieve my pain or some sort. She even also over exaggerated the wait times.

I ended up leaving and paying an Uber to go to St. Joseph Hospital which assisted me right away. I found out my stiff neck was connected to my tmjd and they prescribed me antibiotics and referred me to a tmjd specialist.

I kept telling the person who was checking me in that my stiff neck might be connected to my tmjd. All I told her was I slept long during a flight on Tuesday and she just snapped at me. I even said temporal mandibular joint disorder a few times and she just replies that she has a “stiff neck too. ” You don’t ever laugh at a patient.

I don’t think I’ll ever step back into this hospital again. It would be my last resort.

Worst nurse I’ve ever encountered. I’m not even sure if she is a nurse but she’s horrible. She should really listen to a patients concerns then try to push them away. I’m not surprised their reviews now are low.

My mom received service and asked me to post a review on her behalf: “over a year ago I fell on the right side of my body and tore my rotor cuff. I continued to suffer until I went to the mount Sinai emergency. The hospital in emerg referred me to the 20th floor to see a physiotherapist. Kevin was the person who helped me recover. He was an active listener, patient, clarified my dialogue, and encouraged me to do my exercises at home. He was a very kind and helpful person and treated me with respect. Lastly we had a few laughs as well. Thank you for all your help. ” - Joyce

Their ER is busy so the wait times are long (several hours and depending on your case could take a day for all the testing and evaluations) but they really seem to do their best to provide good care when they do get to you. Their technicians are very experienced. The technician/nurse that did my blood draw is very good. I tend to bruise easily when I have my blood drawn and this technician didn’t make me bruise at all. The ultrasound technician was also very experienced because she knew to ask me to shift my body a little so she can get a better image of a particular spot. I noticed the staff here are extra courteous about understanding that you had a long wait and are apologetic about it whereas in other ERs I have had long waits and nothing was said to acknowledge it. The nurse that first tended to me was helpful in explaining what shesaw and her rationale for decisions
to further refer me for testing. The resident doctor that I eventually saw was patient to answer all our questions.

I had my baby delivered here the nurses were super nice, loved the care they provided. Doctors on call were great too, and the anaesthesia specialist was good too!
28 March 2023 5:05
Terrible hospital.once upon a time i would have recommended it. But it is awful now. The doctors don't really listen to their patients or show much emotion or compassion. The admission doctor literallly will leave you suffering the communication and treatment is terrible.
26 March 2023 17:51
Worst hospital experience ever. Never again! Long lines. Long wait times. Then referrals. Waste of time and energy.
18 March 2023 9:35
A huge thank you to DANIELLE and NEYSA, two labor and delivery nurses of Mount Sinai Hospital. My husband Kermit and I can’t thank this two nurses enough for taking good care of me and my son Kylo. They are the best kind and caring nurses I’ve ever encountered in my life. I know my son is grateful for all that you have done for us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
15 March 2023 8:51
My 20 year old son had a surgery to remove a carcinogenic tumor from his right palate performed by Dr Joel Davies. The surgery went really well and he's healing well since 2 days ago. Before surgery the process was good in terms of explaining how to prepare. A couple of calls to prepare for arrival and for surgery. When we arrived, registration questions and then a nurse came and asked questions, another to verify, a doctor as well and then the anesthetist. After the surgery was done they did let me know it was finished and he was in recovery. Thanks to the doctors and nurses for your care. Shout out to Dr Davies for your hard work to remove the tumour and to nurse Ron who was there for him after it was done. Nurse Ron was hilarious and so down to earth and caring for my son. Thank you!
4 stars instead of 5 was only because I was hoping to get a call to let me/us know a bit more about how the surgery went and what was found during. Hoping to receive some more information soon.
Very grateful though!
Thank you!

I recently had a baby at Mount Sinai hospital. It wasn't my first choice, but I was redirected to the special pregnancy program after having high blood pressure complications.
After having my baby, he suffered a few minor complications (heart murmur, jaundice, a bit of an injury at birth), nonetheless all manageable.
While in our postpartum room, a few nurses came in to discuss breastfeeding/lactation consultants. I refused as I preferred pumping and I wasn't mentally ready to breastfeed.
The nurses were some of the most terrible people I've met. They judged me for my choice, refused to give me pre-made formula for my baby (my husband had to buy it from the Rexall downstairs), and refused to help me right away with anything, saying there are others with priority.
One of the nurses also chimed in saying that "my weight was probably an issue anyway" in terms of my baby's injury?
The nurses also didn't allow us to order take out (as the hospital food was downright disgusting), but we saw other couples with food?
Additionally, we asked about a private room for the entire duration, but the nurses kept saying we were at the back of the line (which we weren't, because all 4 couples in our room went to a private and they gave birth after).
All in all, terrible experience, terrible nurses, terrible food, terrible everything.
05 February 2023 16:08
Everyone is accommodating and helpful. I had a Good experience the entire time that I was there during my lumpectomy.
21 January 2023 14:52
Horrible experience rude staff and inexperienced security. I had to bring in a girl with severe mental health they treated her poorly as well as a homeless man as well as seeing many people who came after us before us leaving us waiting over 3 hours still waiting.

My Name is Connie. In November of 2021 I was air lifted to Mount Sinai Hospital In Toronto, On.from the Napanee Hospital with a blood sugar level of 69, a healing broken shoulder and andiodema. A coma was induced to try to save my life. My husband & family were warned that if I made it, I would not be 'my old usual self. I went to ICU next and then went down to floor #10 until my release.

I wish to Thank all those who worked on me on all those floors; the Nurses, Doctors, Aids, and the Specialists who were brought in on my behalf. I wish to say, You all did a wonderful job on me and I hope you all see this. On Nov 4th, 2022, I was taken off Oxygen. And Yesterday, Nov 22, I was declared NO LONGER Diabetic. Thank You All!
24 December 2022 9:40
One of the best hospitals in Canada, went there with dislocated shoulder, the doctors and staff were amazing and treated me very professional
29 September 2022 6:04
My wife and I spent four nights at Mount Sinai in the process of delivering our twin boys! Overall had a great experience and received high-quality care.
27 September 2022 23:02
I have no idea why this hospital has such a good reputation. I was in distress after seizing on public transit. I had a migraine. I was barely able to speak and convulsing. They kept asking what meds worked and were treating me like I was crazy when I periodically would get my speech back. I felt so under cared for that my friend and someone on the street had to call the paramedics to help. They kept me in restraints despite the seizures because sitting on tje floor would "upset security" despite the security guard earlier telling me it was fine. Everyone was gawking at me like I was an addict. (Don't treat addicts like this either, btw.) Health care in this province is SOL. I wish I wasn't chronically ill. I wish I only needed these places while I'm dying. It's so hard to pretend you want to live while these physicians treat you this way. Stay away.
20 September 2022 22:25
It is so bad experience in this hospital, I was near to die, It is not me even my friends have same experience
15 September 2022 21:55
Very professional and friendly.

Thank you to the nurses and doctors for helping save my life
14 September 2022 3:45
The racism and condescending behaviour I experienced doing my HR internship in the Volunteer Resources department at Mount Sinai Hospital was absolute despicable. The department is run by a horrible group of women, if you are a POC you will feel very uncomfortable and reminded everyday of your position in society. This is a forewarning do not do your HR internship here, unpaid as well.

Amazing place! Saved my life!
These is a good place, and it saved my life! But when you have a business owner telling people on reviews " You Are Mentally Sick No PSYCHIATRISTS or DOCTORS CAN HELP YOU.

This is wrong!
OSCAR of AMI Electronics in Toronto does just that! /
On his review responses every time he gets a low one Star rating. This is WRONG!
I called him and as a Lady he also told me I am mentally sick and no one can help you. I was shocked, so I wrote this as an advocate that this nasty behavior should NOT be tolerated.

Writing this on his page, he just brushed me off.
Just wanted to say if you are a "professional" you would act as one.
You were not in business for 45 Years and this makes you into a liar!
I would never repair anything with you. All your 5 star reviews? FAKE!

You also really are not a nice guy and you tell people they eed help?
I think it's the other way around. You think your perfect?
YOU ARE NOT! AMI Electronics POOR SERVICE!

Never realized how lucky I was to be treated here on several occasions for cardiac issues. I just ripped off my heart monitor and IV while at Toronto West General and subsequently walked out, I am so grateful for the care I received at Mt. Sinai. Despite these challenging times and a shortage of nurses and beds, I was always treated with respect and looked after in a reasonable and caring manner. Wait times have been extensive sometimes but that is a function of today’s environment. For the most part the nurses have been kind and accommodating. The doctors I have seen in hospital and during follow up visits at their respective offices have been arranged and on time with generally quick and timely appointments. The ambulance I took yesterday refused to take me to Mt. Sinai where I have been treated several times and where my cardiologist is based out of. Mt. Sinai feels like the Ritz Carlton compared to Toronto West General - the inhumane treatment I received and horrible staff was really traumatic. I decided to risk my life and die in my own bed rather than stay at Toronto Western Hospital. I will be going to Mt. Sinai today.
06 August 2022 11:29
I came to this hospital because I was sick about 5 days and didn’t seem getting better, I was tried and laying down in the bed all day and night.
I call 911 they took me here.
I was waiting 3 hours and the nurse said seem like you sick it make me so angry if I’m not sick I will not come and pay for ambulance.
My eyes was read however she said anything in my eyes.
ER is really awful
So sad that the people who work in the hospital they didn’t love they job. They treated patient as a homeless.
24 July 2022 22:35
Dr. Erin Kennedy and her team are amazing. I was referred to Toronto from Welland as I had a severe case of Ulcerative Colitis. My surgeon in Welland was not confident in the level of care he could provide so I was transferred to this hospital. They are great to deal with, professional, compassionate and always get back to me in a good time. I just underwent surgery there & will be going back for my final surgery soon & I can honestly say I don’t have any anxiety about the surgery or the aftermath. The nurse staff are also very pleasant & made me feel comfortable. They never made me feel like a burden asking for things/help. I’m thankful to have been referred to this great hospital and I don’t mind the hour and half drive if it means I’m getting such a high level of care
24 July 2022 13:31
Very Bad Experience. Racist Staff and Doctor.
I visited this Hospital today after checking its ratings and I thought that I would have a better experience then William Osler Etobicoke General Hospital which I normally visit as it is near to my home. However, after driving for almost a hour I was very disappointed with the overall experience at Mount Sinai hospital. The only positive is that the wait time for me from the time I reached the hospital till the time I saw a doctor and left the hospital was less than a hour as compared to William Osler Etobicoke General Hospital which takes over 4 hours even in the emergency department.
I have been experiencing pain in my neck, shoulder and back for over a month, and for the past 5 days the pain has turned chronic and I haven’t been able to sleep due to the Pain. The Doctor at the hospital didn’t even examine me and within less than 1 minute of meeting me told me to have Tylenol for the pain and to consult my family doctor if the pain continues. I was expecting the Doctor to at least examine me at the hospital, but he didn’t seem interested and I later wondered if he was racist or just not interested in his job anymore.
I don’t understand how this hospital has got such a good rating, because I felt some kind of negative energy from some of the staff like a male staff at the entrance, a nurse who spoke to me and the doctor. They were all white race and for some weird reason I feel they were racist.
Going to this hospital was a waste of my time.
01 May 2022 23:15
Never go to this ER for ANY addiction or mental health help. Ever. Since my horrible experience, many other healthcare professionals have warned about Mount Sinai's serious lack of care in this area that I experienced first hand.
25 April 2022 13:31
I showed up to the ER at 1: 50am, was seen by a doctor within 30min and was out by 3am. Great service, can’t complain at all!
09 April 2022 14:52
I had very good experience from laboratory located in 4th floor and from reception the lady is named Afsaneh (Sania) She was very nice and also knowledgeable about her job. I also found Claudia very kind and nice.
26 March 2022 15:02
I have never been to this hospital, but I have a team assigned to me from Mount Sinai who monitor my diabetes (T1D).

I got my diagnosis in April 2021 at Toronto Western, and was assigned to this team of Dr. Jacqueline James (endocrinologist), Christie (dietician) and Barbara (nurse). I've had routine appointments with them over the phone, but if I ever have a question, particularly with nurse Barb - I just sent her an email to request an appointment and she called me within 7 minutes.

They take the time to slowly explain the complexity of T1D bit by bit, instead of laying a bunch of information on all at once, and patiently answer my many many questions. They won't hang up until I feel like I'm well taken care of. They're also very supportive and considerate of my emotional and mental health.

I can confidently say I would have been an absolute out of control wreck were it not for them supporting me over the course of my first year living with T1D. I've never felt more in control of my health & well being. Thank you ladies for all that you do!
03 February 2022 19:56
Superior health facility with amazing professional doctors and nurses that care about patients wellbeing.
23 January 2022 13:08
I went here for a CT scan after a year of other tests at other hospitals. Compared to those other places, Sinai was a dream. All the staff were super professional, my appointment was on time, and prep made super easy. Has a great reputation for a reason.
18 January 2022 10:12
Great team fast and easy services, I had 3 girls delivered, each and everyone were so nice with me. God Bless you all
10 January 2022 19:31
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. STAFF WAS AS RUDE AS POSSIBLE. WOULD
NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. WORSE HOSPITAL EVER. SORRY I
WENT THERE. THEY TOOK MY PHONE AND I DID NOT GET IT BACK -
SO THEY STOLE IT.
07 January 2022 16:56
Triage staff at ER sucks, Met with someone called Viviane and I went in with suspicion of a blood, she was arrogant aggressive and impolite. They talk to you as if you are a beggar! Even their security same rudeness.
Avoid the ER and save yourself of the discriminating Triage staff.
30 December 2021 12:22
The fracture clinic on the 5th floor MUST be looked into. Extremely unprofessional service. Waiting time exceeds 4 hours WITH AN APPOINTMENT.
09 December 2021 7:27
Not your old Mount Sinai anymore. The quality of service, the treatment, the doctors are not what they used to be back in the day. The level this hospital used to be is gone with the wind. The new generation of docrors is bringing this hospital down. I wouldn't even outline a specific department because it's everything. Saying this with respect to all frontline workers, but numerous bad experiences do have to be mentioned.
09 December 2021 7:20
Terrible phone system. Redirected numerous times and several times you pick a selected option it just disconnects you immediately.
05 December 2021 10:32
Wait time is quite long but once you’re in- the doctors and nurses are really nice. Great bed-side manner. X rays are done pretty quickly. Overall positive experience.
03 December 2021 13:49
Wonderful hospital. Very clean and organized. Admin workers at triage were terrible at their jobs but the nurses were incredible.
01 December 2021 10:00
Terrible place to work at, everything is so disorganized, I'm desperately trying to find a job elsewhere.
05 November 2021 17:31
The staff, nurses, and doctors are absolutely the best. They are the most respectful people i have met. You are number one with these people and the gratitude i have for them is contagious. With all my respect, i thank everyone of you. Brad
21 October 2021 4:29
Dr. Rahul Joshi acute care doctor at Mount Sinai proved himself to be a world class doctor. You definitely want to be under his care when trying to determine the root cause for your symptoms. Thank you doctor for your keen medical perspective, your heartfelt compassion and devotion. You have a bright future ahead of you!
12 August 2021 1:27
Once the labor process actually happened, the nurses and doctors were great. But they told us to be there for 9: 30 am, by 5 o'clock we had a room, 4 hrs later they started the process. So we basically sat and waited 12 hrs.
09 July 2021 0:55
Employment here is terrible, occupational health never answers our questions, this is the worst hospital I've ever worked at, I hate my job here.
24 January 2021 3:34
Horrible system for getting COVID tests. They made me miss my flight because of a technical error on their/MyChart's end and after waiting on the phone for an hour, they hung up on me.
21 January 2021 6:46
Got my Pilonidal cyst drained today at Mount Sinai emergency. From the time I arrived with so much pain until the end I walked out with such a relief, the entire process took 3 hours in total. I would say their emergency was very efficient and took my pain into account during the process. The doctor was very fast and professional, most importantly, he knew very clearly what needed to be done stepwise during the surgery. If comparing with my previous experience at a hospital in Scarborough, Mount Sinai absolutely worth this rating.
27 December 2020 21:03
Do not book a covid test here if you can avoid it. I had to wait an astonishing 1hr 39mins in spite of having an appointment. You will be packed in with people who may have covid and are thus more likely to contract the virus while getting tested.

This was an absolute nightmare and a legitimate embarsssment to the Canadian healthcare system.
20 December 2020 6:50
Horrible service. For regular stuff (no experience with covid testing), they ‘re reckless and unprofessional to be a hospital. It is nearly impossible to reach the doctor, you just have to pray that they call back to consult. They asked for a bloodwork which first they told can be done anywhere. After getting the results, i had to try numerous times to reach the reception for this doctor to discuss results. After a month, they reply and say you need to repeat bloodwork at our hospital. The lab which is supposed to close 5.30 was closed before 5. Next time, the lab attendant wanted a hard copy of requisition just when everything is becoming virtual bcz of covid. And again that day they closed at 4.30 just because the lady felt like wanting to go home.
20 December 2020 5:41
I CANNOT overstate how bad the COVID testing site is here. I went at 2: 30PM on a week day with AN APPOINTMENT, I finished the testing at 4: 00PM, and 80% of that time I waited INDOORS with over 10 people in an enclosed space with LITTLE social distancing measures.
Once you enter, you go through a corridor, and then into a classroom sized room, in that room there are easily OVER 20 PEOPLE (NOT INCLUDING STAFF). IS THIS EVEN A HOSPITAL? No, IT IS A COVID SPREADING NIGHTMARE HOUSE.
18 December 2020 21:46
I just wanted to appreciate dr solnik and his great and professional fellow, I had a surgery, and I couldn't believe exactly 1 hour after surgery I was able to run, and without any pain, after 8 hour I didn't use any pain killer, I already had a surgery with other dr and I remember after 20 days I was sick, but now I believe miracle happened for me, thank you very much dr solnik you are very professional and real surgeon.
11 December 2020 9:51
Best hospital I have every been. Had fever 2 days ago and chest pain, so came here to check. They checked very thoroughly, the staff were extremely nice.
05 September 2019 22:57
Recently spent time in the ER. It wasn't terrible, but also wasn't great. The washrooms for patients are filthy, and the general environment is not very clean. There seem to be dozens of security officers walking around but nobody is hired to clean the place? Where is the commitment to hygiene that is so important in an ER? What is it with how dirty so many ER's are in Canada? It's a public health hazard. Wait times were what I would expect-five hours from being registered to leaving. The doctors seemed overwhelmed, so clearly the system is overstretched. But that's true throughout the province.
05 September 2019 17:42
Mount Sinai Gynecology 700 University Ave third floor - blood lab- horrible experience. I was being poked with thick needle twice, they couldn't find the vein. They were very rough and not paying attention. I gave up. I went to life labs near me, the young lady did the same arm just once and she got it. I am very disappointed at Mount Sinai experience. The site of my arm is brutally bruised from them. Their lab workers are incompetent. I will never go there again for blood work.
11 August 2019 13:10
Excellent hospital.

Definitely one of the best experience I’ve had in an extremely horrible and scary situation. Although the wait time at first was abit long

the staff from the emergency doctors and nurses to the acute care Doctor MK and nurses on the 11floor south (arlene d, and night nurses) were incredibly compassionate, understanding and helpful.they went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that you were OK and your health as a human being was taken care of. I’ve been to other hospitals like North York General Hospital where the staff and doctors there didn’t care whether your health was in trouble or at risk.

Thank you mount sinai for treating a person like a human being who deserves a chance to get better.
09 August 2019 14:49
Mount Sinai Gynecology 700 University Ave third floor - blood lab- horrible experience. I was being poked with thick needle twice, they couldn't find the vein. I gave up. I went to life labs near me, the girl did it once she got it. Incompetent workers need more training or serious attitude. I will never go there again for blood work.
09 August 2019 9:44
I came here this evening after spending about 3 hours of constant vomiting at home, which continued still in the ER. I was dizzy, lightheaded, fever and chills. My boyfriend and I waited for 2 hours without one word from anyone, no blood work done, nothing. They gave me a Gravol shot and that was it. Other people came in who did not appear to be in serious distress and we’re taken care of immediately.

Meanwhile I’m sitting here in the waiting room still vomiting every couple seconds. We decided to leave after asking for an update on when I could see someone or have blood work, which the triage nurse said eventually but it probably won’t make a difference and at this point we’re told we have to sign papers since we were going against medical advice, what advice? There wasn’t much given. Next time I have an issue I’ll try st.mikes or elsewhere.
07 August 2019 7:25
Is this is hospital? I was painful to wait 4hours. This hospital is really suck especially the nurses! I never saw the nurse had so bad attitude. How could them be a nurse? They didn’t kind to patients. I hate them
23 July 2019 15:59
After thinking I had a sprained ankle for a few days, I woke up one day and wasn’t able to put any weight on that leg. Long story short, I had a fracture in my right tibia. I was in and out of the emergency room in less than 2 hours after getting the x-rays done, being fitted for an air cast, and a getting a crash course on how to use crutches.
I think the doctor may have thought I was just trying to get pain meds though, there seemed to be a bit of an vibe like they didn’t think I was really hurt, until they saw the x-rays. But to be fair, I have a high pain tolerance and it really didn’t hurt at all unless I put weight on the leg or the doctor pressed on the area. Once they realized I wasn’t going to ask for pain meds, the emergency room doctor and nurse that were looking after me seemed to get a little friendlier. I don’t fault them at all though for being on guard, I would have been if I were in their position.
16 July 2019 19:47
It was a horrible experience. I was admitted to emerge. I Witnessed two fairly young nurses with a long career a head of them arguing about their break. Disgusted by their unprofessional behavior. They were talking about a party they had the whole time not responding to call bells ringing. The nurses were laughing at patients. Horrible emergency department. Seems like a nighttime party of Nurse's out of control. Not acceptable behavior for healthcare professionals. We trust them to take care of us when we are sick. Not at this Hospital be careful.
16 July 2019 10:45
Registration staffs are not friendly at all, they don't greet you or acknowledge you, it will be nice if there are some self registering kiosks so no need to face these grumpy Staffs
10 July 2019 21:32
I twisted my left ankle and went to the emergency room to check if I’d broke it. It wasn’t a super long wait for me since I went on a Tuesday midday.
They did the routine X-ray and told me I hurt only the soft tissue, so the nurse put a $105 aircast ankle training brace on my left foot. It hurt a lot when she was putting it on but I thought it’s probably just because of the swelling. But later that day when I took the brace off did I find out she was putting a right ankle brace on my left ankle. Now I’m left with an expensive useless piece of plastic and a bruised ankle due to the uneven pressure the brace had on my foot. If they can’t even pick up the right equipment for a simple ankle sprain, i wouldn’t trust them with anything that’s more serious: (

I went to this hospital to have my baby because I believed they were well staffed & equipped to handle even more complex situations. How wrong I was. I had a healthy pregnancy, no health issues throughout my pregnancy & even my OB anticipated a very successful delivery. I wanted to have my baby naturally as with my older kid, no epidural was my preference. I was in active labor when I got to the hospital at 3: 00 am. I was lying in the labor bed for several hours but my labor wasn't progressing. The anaesthetists just kept on singing this epidural thing as an option. No encouragement for natural birth process. I had indicated that I would rather prefer nitrous oxide & they said I couldn't get it until I was 8-9 cm dilated. I finally got the epidural for pain relief & because they gave me the impression that it will relax my muscle & contractions will follow smoothly.
My condition got worst from that moment they started the epidural. It relieved the pain & took away my contractions. I started having severe shaking, convulsions, & seizure- like symptoms which apparently are the side effects of epidural & the hospital staff did not recognize. They only said it is strange. I ended up having a C-section which could've been preventable with a little more attention by the entire healthcare team attending to me at the time. VERY SAD EXPERIENCE.

This hospital is garage. The good get punished for nothing. I am a guest watching over my girlfriend at the hospital that just got out of a surgery. She complained multiple times about me being there to see her. Mind you this isn't a private room so she has no right to complain about me. This lady wanted to have guests over but not my girlfriend. How is that fair, how is that right. What is your problem with us. So after she complained multiple times and as well as her guest being rude about my girlfriend throwing up. Now I can't sleep over in the room to comfort her and support her. Looks the good get punished at this hospital and the bad get there way. I feel sick.

We waited for 12 hours approx for a doctor to perform a surgical abscess procedure. The staff was horrendous especially the nurse, she just kept saying "I dont know" and then at the end when I told her I couldnt wait anymore because of the pain she said the doctor is busy and theres nothing anyone can do and then I told her I was leaving and her exact words were "sorry you wasted your time". Horrible horrible! Horrible hospital for emergency and horrible staff.

I went to the emergency room and it only took 2 hrs to get my tests done. Really impressed with that, however they did not give me a diagnosis because they don't know what it is. And it is a bit painful, but the staff members are friendly. However, I just wish they would do more in depth testing.

Triage Reception Staff Member:
I called to re-book an appointment that my high risk clinic had booked on my behalf and wasn’t confirmed with me to see if I could actually make the appointment. I called the number that was on the Mount Sinai appointment page and I was then transferred to Triage as I was trying to rebook my first appointment with the hospital. As soon as I was transferred, I was greeted by a staff member who from the start had the WORST tone. I had told her I needed to rebook my appointment and right away her response is "you do realize the importance of this appointment right? " later then followed with "these appointments are hard to book in the first place". Don't talk to me like i'm an idiot with that condescending tone. I'm obviously trying to rebook because i CANNOT physically make that specific appointment for that time and day because it was booked for me without confirmation. After trying to explain to her (while she was talking over me) as to why I had to rebook, she FINALLY rebooked my appointment (2 days later from the original booking). I was assured that the staff would be friendly and accommodating and considering why I was referred to Mount Sinai in the first place, I would have thought this person would have had a little more compassion. But she was RUDE from the get go and even questioned if my condition was confirmed by specific tests. And continued to justify her unnecessary questions by saying "I'm sorry I don't have your chart in front of me". If I could give NO STARS for that one specific staff member, I would. I wish I got her name cause I would NOT hesitate to mention her on here. But if she reads this, she knows who she is.

Terrible experiences, -
Only Dr. That can diagnose Pudendal Nerve Entrapment, Pudendal Neuralgia no longer employed at Mount Sinai and will never be replaced. Mount Sinai knows that this is a excruciatingly 24/7 painful disease with a high rate of suicide and Divorce, so they hired a Dr.to taper everyone’s pain meds before they released all their patients.
Today once again referred to wrong Dr.who cannot help after 2.5 hr drive one way. This Dr.was nice but frustrated as after four years is still not on list of Doctors employed by Mount Sinai. His patients are being referred to TGH because of same last name.

One of the best hospitals in Canada, the customer service and sympathy I endured in this hospital was amazing, they did every test possible to see the outcome of my pain, the nurses, doctors, EMS and security were very nice and supportive, I would travel hours just to go to this hospital specifically.great job guys.this hospital has my support, thank you so much for taking care of me, really appreciated
